full screen youtube video lockup (soft soft)

Q: full screen youtube video lockup (soft soft)

I freshly reinstalled my windows 7.
before and after the install,
when I watch videos on youtube.com (that's the only example atm),
the videos play great, flawless framerate, no matter the quality.
but they will randomly lockup. pause. only while in fullscreen.
high speed internet, videos have completed downloading, streaming speed isn't the issue.

if i press ESC to the video minimizes to a smaller display and works flawlessly,
if i press full screen again, the video continues flawlessly, untill 5 or 10 seconds later,
no specific time, they may more may not pause again.

no other system annoyances that i can recall.
i tried updating divx, although Ive never had to install those to watch youtube.

any ideas what could cause full screen video lockup?
ESC and a refullscreen instantly solves the issue, but i have to do it a few times throughout some videos.

reinstall java maybe? seems like I had to install java to watch youtube. i forget.

Preferred Solution: full screen youtube video lockup (soft soft)

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I would make sure my Java script was OK. Do you run Trend A/V by any chance. This can block Java! What's you broadband speed? Does this happen at all times of the day or only at specific times?

hi there ,

Inspite of being very careful , I'm having troubles with that stupid trojan and virus alerts for 2 days now.. I tried kaspersky6 and nod32 to detect and clean the reason but had no luck till then..

well, here are the details..

I cannot see temporary internet files folder which should be in :

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings folder.

and those gifs are created periodically , after deleting , they appear again some time later in C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp folder.

nod32 is alerting like crazy about those gifs , you can see the quarantine screenshots below

finally, you can see the combofix and hijackthis logs below..

A:Best soft to recover 3TB HDD of GPT on wondows 7 ? free soft most like

I just recently had a problem similar to yours, just mine was a bit more complex and have put it on the 'backburner' untill I have more time. I havent found a reason why my disk did 'fail' but dont worry, it can be recovered. Greg recommended this program to solve my solutions, Partition Wizard. This comes in many 'formats' Home version is what you want, it is free and allows you to do the tasks you will need. There is also a more advanced 'bootable' cd which can aslo be foudn on their website. By following this link to a video guide, you have lots of chances of recovering most-all of your data, only downside is that you must have a seperate hdd to copy the recovered files onto, be it your internal HDD or an external one. DONT COPY YOUR RESTORED FILES STRAIGHT BACK ONTO THE DRIVE as this may lead to permenante data loss. It is upto you if you choose the cd/normal one. Could i recommend you ask gregrocker to have a say in this thread as he knows alot in this area,

I recently realised that my YouTube video's audio is softer compared to how it is usually. I kind of verified that this is caused by the flash player; I uninstalled adobe flash player, and when the YouTube video plays via the default html player (I'm using Firefox), the audio becomes normal (the usual loudness I am used to).
I'm thinking that somehow the volume of the flash player has been adjusted (I tried searching around the net but could not find a reliable way to adjust the volumne of flash players). Is there a way to do so? I tried installing a slightly older version of the flash player (I suspected it might be due to the newest version of the flash player) but the issue remained.
Hope to get some help! Thanks!

my system is crashing (screen freezes, have to reboot). This is at generally at random, i.e unpredictable. However, I can make it freeze if I run google earth, or 3dmark for example. I run AVG anti virus and sunbelt kerio firewall.

I've tested my ram with memtest (no errors), done my housekeeping on the hard drive, run ccleaner, spybot, Dxdiag, sfc /scannow, uninstalled and reinstalled my nvida drivers. I know the next thing is to reinstall my O.S. but don't want the hassle, especially as I don't think it's guaranteed to fix the problem.

Problems first arose while playing vid game. I've since uninstalled all games as part of my cleanup.

I think my graphics card (NVIDA Geforce 4 Ti 4200 with agp 8x) could be on the blink, but don't have a spare machine to test it on, and don't want to buy a new one when I'm not sure it would solve my problem (Device manager says it's working fine).

Is it time to buy a new computer?

A:screen freeze - soft or hardware problem?

Hi mate! First of all please post your full system specs so we can have a more clear view! You must suspect three things in situations like this. You made a good guess - this can be related to your graphics card as freezes occur while running 3D stuff. It can be damaged but we can't check it if you don't have a spare one or another computer. You can check the card's temperature though. Install the newest Nvidia drivers or search for utilities that show temperature readings for graphics cards on the internet. I also suspect CPU overheating. Your machine is a little old as I guess. Maybe the material under the CPU's heatsink degraded because of time and temperatures went up. Check in the BIOS for the CPU's temperature. In addition to these things try and clean CPU and graphics card fans from dust, it's important in order to maintain a healthy PC with no extreme temperatures. The last thing we have to think is your power supply unit. Maybe it's aged and it can't provide enough power to CPU and graphics card when running intense applications (like 3D games etc). If your temperatures seem ok, you clean the fans and the problem consists then it's time to test your PSU. Unfortunately the easiest way to do so is to replace it with another (with same or higher wattage supply) and check again. Just to be sure before going through all these tests reinstall directX (the latest version) and your drivers.

this computer had soft stuff screen saver on it. I removed it using win add/delete programs because I suspected it was the reason I could not assign my own personal desktop background using control panel/display/desktop. That screen is frozen. How do I fix this????

For some reason, starting this morning, any time I open a game in full screen mode, I get a full freeze. No mouse movement, Ctrl+Alt+Del / Ctrl+Shift+Esc / Alt+F4 / Alt+Tab do nothing, and the ultimate test, toggling capslock doesn't change the light on the keyboard. Only a hard reboot remedies the problem.

I'm convinced it's not a video card issue simply because if I start the same games in windowed mode, they run perfectly fine. I updated to Catalyst 10.10d yesterday, but the problem didn't occur until today, so I'm not entirely sure if they are related. Google's turned up nothing, at any rate, and I don't want to go through the effort of a full driver wipe until I'm sure it's the problem.

Something that troubles me a little: Fallout New Vegas randomly started detecting my Radeon 3870s as a GeForce 7900. It did not do this originally. Fallout 3 and Oblivion still detect it properly, however.

This problem happens in all games I've tried, across multiple engines, including several Source games, several Gamebryo games, and a few other random games. This is not a BSOD issue, it simply freezes with a black screen. My drivers, DirectX and Windows are all completely up to date.

Edit: Forgot to include customary dxdiag info.

I will start explaining my most urgent problem, then move on to the saga of my RAM. Before I begin though, some information about my PC. I am running MS Vista Basic edition, with service pack 1 & 2 installed. I have a ASUS Maximus Extreme motherboard, and I currently have 2 RAM types installed (more on the why of that later).

One set of memory: G.SKILL Trident 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory

The fourth stick of memory is: Crucial Ballistix 1GB (1 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model

I'll explain the why of 2 different memory types now. I have 2 sticks of the crucial memory. My system was constantly overheating for a while (I would get forced resets and a Over Temperature error on boot up). This most likely damaged the memory. So I bought some fans and new RAM, the G.SKILL Trident stuff. Only when I try to start my computer with that RAM, it seems to start but I won't get anything from the monitor. There are no beeps from the computer though, it seems to start normally. But when I have 1 stick of the Crucial memory and the 3 Trident sticks in, it starts just fine.

On to my most urgent problem. When I install the RAM, all of the memory detects. At some point (I don't know when) it will drop down to detecting 3 gigs instead of 7. If I move around the Crucial memory, it will all detect again for a while, then go back to 7 gigs. As I am an avid gamer, 3 ... Read more

Only under these specific conditions.  And when other videos are played fullscreen, the screen turns black, but will still play audio and the system is not frozen--the video just does not display.

Your UEFI/BIOS (version N56VZ.217) dates from 2013.  Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any UEFI/BIOS updates available for your system.  If you are able to install the update through Windows (without booting from an external drive), then go ahead and update it.  WARNING - if the computer might shut down during this procedure, please don't do it, as this may physically damage the computer and prevent it from booting.Although you appear to have a reasonable number of Windows Update hotfixes for this version of your OS, please double check for any new Windows Updates.  It only takes one update to cause a problem, so it's essential that you have all of them.  The actual number is not important.  Rather it's important that you checked manually, installed any available updates, and didn't experience any errors when checking or updating.E: drive only has about 5% free space.  Windows likes 15% free space in order to perform stuff "behind the scenes" without adversely affecting the system's performance.  Please free up 15% on ALL hard drives (you can get away with 10% on larger drives and won't notice a large performance penalty).  Low free space can cause BSOD's - but the actual amount depends on the files being used by the system. What do you have connected to the USB ports on this system? Please update your video drivers (both the Intel and nVidia) to the latest, W10 compatible versions availaable from the sys... Every video I watch in Opera (ver. 9.62, Mac) lags in full screen mode. I've
- got a stable connection
- 2GB of RAM
- updated to Flash 10

What else can I do? Again, this only occurs in full screen mode in the Opera browser. Everything's fine in Safari.

I need help. I talked to NetFlix, they are stumped. I changed video cards and got the latest drivers. I even formatted my hard drive and reinstalled my applications. This last got rid of the problem, but it came back. At this point, when I try to watch a Netflix video on my computer,m either in a window or in full screen mode, I hear the audio track, but only see a black screen. A YouTube video is fine in a window, but full screen mode is pure black though with audio. Other videos players will sometimes go to black in full screen.

I am running Windows XP, SP3 on a 2.2 gHz computer with 2 MB ram. The new video card is an NVidia GeForce 6200 AGP with 512 MB ram. I am using a DVI connection to an ASUS LED monitor.

I wonder if anyone else has had a similar problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone may offer on this subject.

First of all, i'm sorry if I posted this on the wrong forum. I wasn't sure which forum this thread fit in, and all of it happened while I was updating my VGA drivers...

Anyway, this really weird glitch happened to me after I tried to update my Intel HD Graphics driver. I updated the graphics driver in hope that I could run Sonic Generations a little smoother, but then I stumbled on this weird youtube glitch. It's an Acer Aspire 5742G, and I bought it for my brother this christmas. I was hoping you could help me out with this...

When I watch a youtube video in full screen, it looks all really weird. It's very hard to describe it, so I printed the screen to show exactly what's going on:

As you can see the bottom bar, showing all the numbers and stuff, looks weird. And the video quality is also pretty messed up. It's like it changed for a lower resolution for an instance, or something. This is like nothing i've ever seen before! I unninstalled and updated VGA drivers lots of times before, but this never happened to me. I was wondering if anyone could help me out here...

Thank you for your time.

Try getting the free version of Revo uninstaller: Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
Use it to completely uninstall every bit of your graphics drivers (any audio, video, etc. that came with the update).

If you don't want to use the uninstaller, use control panel's built in uninstaller. However, this may not help solve the problem, as remenants of the previous driver may still remain.

Now, go into windows updates and install all important updates, and any "compatability" updates in the optional section. Next, redownload the graphics update and install it. This is the website for it, make sure you select the correct opperating system: http://support.acer.com/product/defa...x?modelId=3278

Find the control panel for the graphics card and set the resolution and other settings according to how you would like it. There is also a cleartype text function in windows 7, you might try it out: Windows ClearType Tuner. You can also enable cleartype in IE under internet options>Advanced and looking down the list for the option.

hi, my english bad sorry.... i have two computers and one of them gets this problem
When I watch a video on YouTube, it is not full screen. i use chrome, firefox, opera but all have the same problem. there is the same problem with different videos
i'd try, graphic card uninstall, reinstall
chrome delete and again installl
computer scan for virus and malware

I showed the error in the picture and
When I watch a video on YouTube, it is not full screen

A:youtube full screen error?

Am I correct, these are both screen shots from YouTube but from the two different computers ?
Not all videos are taken with the same aspect ratio and if the aspect ratio of the video is different from that of your screen it will not fill the screen. Look at an old video shot in 4:3 running on a modern computer or TV screen with an aspect ratio of 16:9 or similar. You will get a black edge where it does not fit your screen. It would have been helpful if your two screen shots had been of the same video clip !
Since you say you have "graphic card uninstall, reinstall" - I take it you mean the drivers - the only thng I can think for you to do is check the display resolution. RIGHT click on an blank piece of screen and select 'Screen resolution' from the pop-up menu. Then make sure that your resolution is set to its maximum level, normally the 'recommended' one.

When I watch a YouTube video and go to full screen it is white with no video. I am running XP sp3. It works with IE and on my laptop but not this (desk top) machine.

Also when I check for updates for my add-on's it says I need an updated shockwave player. I have tried to download and install and it will not take. I have done it a dozen times with the same result.

Any ideas on how I can correct this?

A:Full screen white with YouTube?

You can do this by following procedure:

copy and paste from the youtube browser link this part (red) after /watch?v= ... and before &feature=related
... eg: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c71A0WG_Byk&feature=related)
... copying the red to become: (http://www.youtube.com/v/c71A0WG_Byk)
... into the end of: ( http://www.youtube.com/v/ )
... then [press] <F11> key for full screen "before" movie starts!
... any difference?

On the net I have found a download which says it may be of assistance in overclocking.
The program is called H-Odas FSB and comes as a zip file.
I have unzipped the file and am now wondering what to do with it, there is no *.exe file and the readme.txt is unhelpful.
Does anyone out there know what this thing is and perhaps more important how do you use it?

I am currently running Windows XP - Home Premium. Yesterday I some how managed to get the AV Soft virus. The first thing I did was research it and download MBam, which I then ran 3 times in safe mode, along with Avira, and Super. No luck, Mbam found some stuff, and I thought it was gone, but the this morning when I logged on, I still got the messages. I re-did everything again, and changed the proxy settings, but they changed back and the virus is still there. What do I do?

Has "Soft RAM" for Windows 95 got anywhere beyond after release?

A:Soft RAM app

There is no software replacement for RAM. Soft RAM never really worked anyways. The best option is to buy more RAM.
Run the Crucial System Scanner, this will tell you how much RAM and what type and it will tell you the maximum amount of RAM your motherboard will support. Then you can purchase it from anywhere not just Crucial.

I would really like some help with my problem with Anti-Virus Soft, I don't know what all I have done to it already (I disabled it from booting and other stuff) but everytime I turn my computer back on, the registry keys are back, and since I am not too smart with computers, I thought Googling around would help and so far I havn't got too much help doing things manually. Forgot to mention that I have Windows XP. If you need any more information just ask, cause I don't know what all I should say here.

Thanks, Brandon.

Hey guys I'm new here and I need help. I can watch youtube videos just fine but when I put them into full screen mode they'll work for a couple of minutes but then they'll cut out and the screen goes black (the sound continues). So I press Esc to go back to the normal mode and a message appears saying

I have just started noticing this issue with youtube.I use to be able to just click the full screen button on the bottom right of the youtube player and it would maximize. Now when i try to maximize it,it does not maximize all the way and it freezes up.I can hear the sound and see the video, but the video freezes.I disabled the "enable hardware acceleration" in the player settings and it did no justice.I then "enabled" hardware acceleration in the google chrome settings and it worked. However, enabling hardware acceleration seems to make chrome lag a little.my graphics card is completely up to date and so is my adobe flash plugin.Google chrome is also up to date.Although chrome itself has it's own built in flash.I never had to enable hardware acceleration before in google to play videos up untill now.i have not changed anything on my computer or in my web browser.
I also have the cyberfox browser.Youtube seems to work fine and it maximizes in that browser just fine without hardware acceleration enabled.Im stumped..lol So im assuming this has to do with google chrome itself?

On my desktop computer, when I try viewing youtube videos (and videos from some other sources) full screen, the toolbar across the bottom of screen in the desktop mode remains visible, blocking my view of (and use of) the player controls at bottom of the youtube player. All I can see is the seek bar moving as the video plays. If I put the toolbar in the AutoHide mode, then I can see (and use) the youtube player controls.

On my laptop with W8, this problem does not exist. The entire player appears normally as if there were an "always on top" mode.

One difference is that the laptop had W8 factory installed, while I installed W8 over XP in my desktop. (That $39 deal offered at the beginning of the year was too good to pass up). Both computers have x64-based processors.

Computer comparisons:
Laptop: Samsung; AMD A6-4400M APU with Radeon HD Graphics, 2.70 GHz; 4.00 GB RAM, 64-bit OS
Desktop: Homebuilt; AMD Athlon Dual Core Processor 5050e; ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics (with latest driver); 2GB RAM; 32-bit OS

Neither computer has the toolbar in the AutoHide mode.

On some sites with the desktop computer, when I move the mouse pointer toward the left edge of the player, the seek bar retracts and I can't grab it to drag it to the right. I don't know the if laptop also has this problem.

Thanks for your suggestions.

A:Viewing youtube videos full screen

Mine does the same thing but if I check the auto-hide taskbar option, I get the video full screen without the taskbar. Updated to ad the fact that I am using a home-built desktop and I did read your (very well written) opening post. This is just an FYI and is not intended to be a fix for your specific issue.
