I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi, My yoga 710 screen is not turning on and is completely black. I have tried holding the power button for 15 seconds until I hear the laptop fan. However, that has not helped.  The keyboard light still turns on and I can turn it on and off when I need to. The laptop is still able to charge but I  have also disconnected the charger when I have attempted to power it on. Still does not work.  There has been a few issues with it in the past such as the laptop restarting when I take it off my table or move it slightly.  The laptop is approximately 18 months old.  Any help will be appreciated.

Hello, I'm having this issue since I got the computer (IdeaPad 500s 14I), about 3 months ago.  Sometimes, after the screen turns off due to inactivity, it won't turn completly back on. The keyboard is lit and the screen shines with a grey tone - but no key can make the picture come back. It happens after being in sleep mode too. In both cases pressing shortly on the power button, entering sleep mode and pressing it again to wake up - solves the problem! That is until the next random time. The instant fix helped tolerating the problem for months but I hardly doubt that phenomenon is normal... Anyone has any ideas what's happening and how to solve it?  Thanks ahead!

I would go to support.lenovo.com and download/install the latest updated drivers for your system, most importantly the display, power management and chipset drivers.    Most were released this month, so they may contain fixes that will resolve your issue, but even if not, it is better to have them ruled out before opening a support ticket if needed.    I would NOT update the BIOS/UEFI unless explicitly instructed to do so by Lenovo support, as far too often those updates go badly, and there is no fix other than to send in your laptop to have the system board replaced. Good Luck!

I installed Windows again and installed the latest version of BIOS. Result did not change, screen is still turning off.

Hi everyone, I have an almost 2-year Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Ideapad, and recently I lost the original charger, so I started using an Innergie universal charger which never really worked that well to begin with. Anyway, the other day, I came home from work and plugged it in to charge overnight, and didn't need it until yesterday. When I went to use it yesterday, the only response I could get from it was the light by the power button to turn on, and even then only when it was plugged into the universal charger. I didn't get any other lights - no keyboard lights, just the white light from the power button and constant white charging light with an occasional orange blink.  Then it took a while to get it to turn off. I took it to Best Buy, but the guy at the Geek Squad wasn't very helpful, and I was very reluctant to just send away my computer before I actually knew what the problem was.  I was going to try taking a look inside the computer, but I couldn't get all the screws out because I did not have the proper screwdriver.  Does anyone know what the problem might be or a possible solution? I really can't afford to not have a laptop, and I really can't afford super high repair fees.

My lenovo Yoga 700 is turning on with a black screen and a continuos beep. I have reset the battery and also left it out and held down the power button for 30 seconds and plugged it back in. I have reseatted the RAM and SSD. I have tried booting with the SSD not inserted and I still get the same error. I have no clue where the CMOS battery is on this MB, I have read that it is replaced by two super conducters? If so how do I go about resetting it if that might help. Let me know if anyone has any ideas desperate at this point thanks!

Hello,I already tried the search function but couldn't find a solution. When I flip the screen 180° arround (tabletmodus) or just the V-Modus, it doesnt ask me anymore if i want to change. It should ask because in settings it is on "ask before ...". I need to do it manual. But the biggest problem is that the screen is not turning anymore. The button on theside is not working as well as the settings in the Lenovo settings, in Lenovo settings it is always on Screen turning LOCKED, when I set it to UNLOCK, it will jump back to LOCKED by itself. (made a screenshot from this setting) I have no idea what to do please help. Thanks

Today while using my yoga 3 14, I realized my computer wasn't charging properly. As I was using it the screen shut off comepletely while the rest of the computer appeared to be continuing to function. As my computer wasn't charging, and the screen won't turn on, the power light does turn on as normally functioning. It's now however blinking orange as the charger won't work, and my screen continues to be off. Functions such as the light up keyboard work but not for long, is there any solutions to my issue?

A:Yoga 3 14 screen won't turn on

Dear Cxexcision,

Welcome in lenovo community,

Please try to

1- Force shutdown the laptop >> Unplug the charger >> Hold the power button for 20 seconds.
2- Connect the charger >> turn on the laptop
3- If the screen still off, please try to connect the laptop to external monitor.

Try the above and feed us back please.

Regards,
Joseph

I turned on my Yoga fine this morning, and everything worked. I shut the laptop, didn't shut it down, put it in my bad and drove home. It was in a bag in the sun for 10 minutes, but it was covered, and it has lasted longer than that. When I got home, it wouldn't turn on. It showed the light by the power button, but that is no longer shown. It shows the battery is fully charged, it has the white light. I tried holding for 15 seconds, and I tried quickly pressing 10 times. I couldn't find a forum that fixed my problem. Thank you!

I just got a used Yoga S1 and I am really happy with it so far, except for two things... Firstly I have encountered a problem ejere the laptop does not power off or go into sleep properly. Instead light in keyboard buttons (fnlink etc.) keep being lit and the red power lamp blinks slowly. The laptop does not respond om anything except a hard reset (holding power button) Secondly I see that the screen has quite a lot og ghosting/burn-in, especially when I look at a gray-ish background, where previous applications can still be seen on the screen (outline of chrome etc). I have read that this is a common problem with this laptop, but I didn't really see a solution other than sending it to Lenovo, but it out of warranty so I guess this is not and option?  Hope you can help med out Best Regards Lynge

My relatively new Yoga 3 Pro (4 months old) inbuild screen goes blacl/turns off after 30 seconds unless I am activity typing or moving the mouse around.  The screen still seems to be on and I can see the back-light but the screen is completely black.  I have to hit a key or click the trackpad for it to come back on.  This happens no mattter what program/app I am using or even if I am just displaying the desktop.  It will even happen when viewing youtube videos or reading a pdf.   While I have not tried it, I am pretty sure it it will do this when doing a presentation unless I move through the slides within 30 seconds.  I have adjuster the timer for the screen to turn off in Power & System settings (tried everything from 2 min to never for both battery and plugged-in) and have disabled Harmony Paper Display (using the Fn+Esc)  with no effect.   The screen just goes black after 30 seconds no matter what I do.  Does anyone know how to stop this from happening. This is really annoying and pretty much makes the computer useless for work.

Hi! I was using my laptop last night when I got the notification that the battery was low. I just got a new power bank and I wanted to try charging the laptop from it. It didn't work so I decided to charge it the regular why. Before I managed to plug the charger in the screen went black but the power button still had it's light on. I figure that the battery was very low and waited about 10 minutes before I pushed it again, trying to restart the computer. Nothing happened, the power button was still on but the laptop still wouldn't start. I pressed and held and then the power button went off. After that, with the laptop still charging, I tried to turn it on again but it doesn't react. The white light by the charger port is on and not blinking anymore which probably means it's fully charged but other than that there is no sign of activity. I tried pressing the power button and holding up to one minute... nothing! I even tried restarting it via the Novo button, didn't work either. I've had it for 8 months and didn't have any problems with it up until now. Do you have any suggestions?

I bought a Lenovo Yoga 710 laptop from Best Buy last week.    This is my 2nd Lenovo laptop. The other one was a Yoga 11 that I bought last year.   With the Yota 11, the screen turns on as soon as I open the lid.   On the new Yoga 710, the screen never turns on when I open the lid and I have to press the power button to turn it on.  I've searched and tried dozens of different setting and none made any difference.   I ended up taking the Yoga 710 back to the Best Buy store.  There were three Geeksquad guys who couldn't figure it out.   So they simply exchanged it.  When I got home and unboxed it, it was still the same.  I went back to the store three more times and all the other ones they gave me had the same behavior.  I actually didn't want to exchange them, but they Geeksquad guys insisted that it was normal, so they just kept exchanging it.  The two of them actually spent over 15 minutes trying to figure it out, but nothing worked.   The laptops were otherwise working perfectly. The Yoga 710 on display at Best Buy actually did work just fine.  The screen turns on when the lid is opened... I think that's why the Geeksuqad guys insisted that all 4 that I got were bad.... on the other hand, 5 of them had were manufacturered in three different months, so I assume they were from different batches? So three weeks ago, I was working on my Yoga 3 14" and popped to get a drink, I came back and the screen was blank, I assumed it had gone to sleep, so hit a key to wake it up. Nothing! The laptop was plugged in, so I know it hadn't run out of charge. After sheer panic, I contacted Lenovo, who told me that my warranty was out by a month, and that I could send it to them to diagnose, and they would tell me how much to fix, then it was up to me if they did or not.One I wouldn't be happy about not having my laptop for a couple of weeks minimum, but also it had all my private information on.I turned to good old google, and stumbled across this forum, and somebody with the same problem.Their solution was to unscrew the back case of the laptop (as mentioned above, my warranty was already out), remove the battery cable, hold down the power button for 30 seconds and reconnect the battery cable.I did this, and low and behold it worked. Fantastic!Only for it to happen twice more that week, and approx twice a week since. Then yesterday my brother contacts me saying his laptop has died, just won't turn on. Here is the issue, when my computer goes to sleep after it's on for a while when I move the mouse to get the screen back up it shows the backround no icons or anything to click.
Same if I turn it off and turn it back on. I have to turn it off and on many times then go to safe mode and shut down then turn it on again for it to work. Just now I had to turn it on/off 4 times for it to show the icons and task bar. Usually it is left blank with nothing to click having no choice but to turn it off.

Hello, I've had this laptop for a bit less than a year, so I believe the warranty is valid, but I'd like to know if there's anything I can do myself. I was using it plugged in although it had a full battery. I have an Anker power bank that was nearly out of battery, on which I was charging my phone. I thought it supported pass through charging but apparently it didn't, so my mistake. Upon connecting the bank (and the phone) to my laptop, the laptop immediately shut off and I could tell the lights in the room flashed very quickly. Since then (at writing this less than one day ago), the laptop will not power on. When connected to the wall the small charging light turns on and is white. The power button lights up for a couple of seconds before turning off again when pressed. Fans do not start, display does not turn on nor do the keyboard lights. I figured it may have overheated at first, but the bottom was not hot to the touch. There were no signs of smoke or smells indicating a bad electrical problem. I've tried pretty much just holding the power button for different amounts of time (10sec, 30sec, 1min) and nothing happens. I believe I've done something to the battery but I'd like to know what. Thank you.

Hello,I'm having trouble since I recieved my LENOVO ThinkPad Yoga 14 two months ago.It is on guarantee.I've noticed that the master fan keeps starting even if the computer is not working at full capacity. Sometimes, it starts right after windows as finished booting! And it's a brand new computer, Intel i7 CPU and 8GO of RAM!The fan keeps working then even if I'm only surfing on the internet or working on word. It's REALLY annoying. I feel like this is already an old computer by it's blowing. My old computer, a 5 years old Toshiba Satellite, doesn't blow so much.I've searched over the web and found that LENOVO had released a new UEFI Bios that was suposed to fix this problem. I've installed it and nothing changed! The fan kept on turning on for nothing else than a gmail home page.I've already asked about another problem on the ThinkPad Yoga 14. It's about a background noise on the built in speakers. Here's the link: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Background-noise-on-ThinkPad-Yoga-14-bu...I'm not having a good experience with this Yoga 14. I was looking for professional quality and it is not.Can someone tell me if they have the same problems? What LENOVO is going to do about it?Thanks.Ludovic.

A:ThinkPad Yoga 14 - The Fan keeps on turning on eve...

Hi ludovicfd Can you please post the full model number of you machine and which Windows version are you using?. For example my TP Yoga 14 is "20DM008UUS" and I didn't experienced those issues.  I'm guessing that your machine fan is blowing too much and making huge noise. In my case I can feel more the hard drive noise than the fan, it is not like the HDD is "that loud", but when you are on a quiet enviroment you can feel it "scrattching". Do you want to try first updating any firmware / BIOS on your machine at the latest level ? After that another alternative will be to try to update the driver for the chipset and power. The basic thing for me is to try to update the drivers and firmware this way:- Windows Update- Lenovo System Update- Lenovo Companionand after that search manually for updates on the Lenovo Support site with your specific model number. Sorry, it is trial and error to see if a driver can fix your issue. If after updating the drivers, you think it is hardware issue you should try to contact Lenovo's Customer Support site Regards

Hello, I bought my Yoga 900 around september-october last year and it was working great for me without any problems.  However, I came home from work the other day and it would not turn on. I plugged in the AC adapter to charge it and still there was no response. The battery indicator light is not showing any signs of life either. There has been no damage to it, and I had been using it the night before to watch a movie with no problems.  My issue is that I bought it in Canada but I am now living in China, and I'm not sure which steps should be taken to resolve this issue. Im not sure if there is email support or a phone number I can contact, but scouring through the various support pages has been useless. Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello, my monitor won't turn on after it turns off automactially (I set this to 5 minutes in windows). I've disabled sleep mode and all that jazz. I suspect it might be an ssd problem because when it won't turn on there is minimal activity with the hard disc LED light.

I've also disabled sleep, hybrid sleep and the page file thingie. I just want it to turn off my monitor, not put my computer to sleep.

Here are my specs
Crosshair V Formula
AMD 8150
PowerColor 7970
Dell 2209WA
Some sharp monitor
SilverStone 850watt PSU
Corsair Force 3 120gb
WD 1tb black
WD 640(?) green
Corsair h100
Corsair 600T
Windows 7 x64 SP1

A:Monitor won't turn on after turning off, SSD failure?

Why are you disabling Paging file? It is needed and should be set to System managed.

Sleep, Hybrid sleep and Hibernate are modern features that allow you to walk away without concern about turning off your computer and/or saving your work. If you come back in a day or a month your work is still waiting for you on the desktop, having gone to sleep waitin for you to return soon to tap Enter to wake it, or timed out to write what's in RAM to HD to shut down but resume twice as fast next time you start in with Hibernate. It's silly to turn it off like this is a suspiciously modern feature in some XPired OS.

Set your Display time out to a more reasonable 20 minutes, then update your Display driver to see that all the power options work correctly.

ok so my yoga 3 is not responding at all. my first issue came when my cable was damaged there was a short in the cable and i would have to kink it to make it work one day it stopped working. i bought a new cable and now it wont turn on at all. I removed the back disconnected the battery held power button for one minute connected it back still nothing. I also ordered and replaced the charging port for the adapter. still nothing. what do you think could be a problem? could the battery be dead possibly? if it was dead shouldnt it hold a charge while connected to charger??

Hi guys, I had a Yoga Pro 2 but I got it replaced by Lenovo under warranty because it was having some major major issues. They sent me a Yoga 900 and I am already noticing problems with its connection to my bluetooth mouse. I used this same bluetooth mouse on my Yoga Pro 2 and it always connected fine without any problems at all but with my Yoga 900 it seems that the mouse will be connected for 5 minutes max and then the Yoga 900 will no longer recognize the mouse. Any help is appreciated, this is very frustrating and I have had been having a lot of problems with Lenovo's devices. Their warranty is great but I am getting tired of so many problems for such expensive machines.

Similar problem here.  Yoga 900 just a couple of months old, and I decided to try a bluetooth mouse.  It connected and worked just fine for a couple of minutes and then stopped.  Windows still says the mouse is paired and connected, but it doesnt work.  Turn bluetooth off, turn mouse off, remove mouse from bluetooth devices, re pair mouse and it works for a couple of minutes and then stops.  Lather, rinse, repeat.  I'm hoping this is a Windows problem and not a Lenovo problem, but if anyone finds a solution I would love to hear it.
