The HP website claims the 510-a010 has 5.1 channel audio. I have a logitech z506 system properly connected to the 3 jacks in the rear panel. All I can get is stereo. I think I need to reconfigure the back panel jacks but do not know how. Have tried several drivers - current version is 188.8.131.5273, but all drivers on HP site have same issue. Any ideas? I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system
It's worked out well for many of us in the past.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)
Does HP have any remote control app which canbe used to control volume etc.. for HP Pavilion 27-a010
If you are talking about using your phone as a remote control, then there are several apps for Android or Apple products that allow you to do this. Just search the app stores for PC and remote... you'll need to install the app on your phone and software on your PC from the app manufacturer's web site. I think Google has a remote desktop app if youhave android.Read other 1 answers

It doesn't have a black audio port...green, blue, orange...never heard of a black connector...unless you have to use headphone port?

I am wishing to upgrade the hard drive in my new Envy AIO since it came with only a 5400rpm drive to a hybrid 7200rpm. I have read from previous posts that it is difficult due to the location of the drive sitting behind the curved monitor and to access it you have to remove it. I also have watched a video on someone doing this but they didn't mention how they were able to over come the strong adhesive that attaches the bevel to the monitor without breaking the screen. Is there a documented way to remove the bevel without force? This seems to be a poor engineering design for hard drive replacement or upgrades as well as memory grades where you have to go a step furhter and remove the motherboard since the RAm is located on the back side with no access. I am a computer engineer and very hardware savy and am very concerned about opening up the system to upgrade the hard drive. Any suggestions for removing the bevel safely would be greatly appreciated.Read other answers

Ok, I had purchased this computer for a job and was ok for a while now they are saying I need to upgrade the processor. Thats fine no problem there till I started doing research and found out the I can't. I only had this computer for approx 6 months I feel I was not given all info on the system when I bought it. I believed and was told it was new however after digging around the system more it is not. My question is can this system be upgraded with a new motherboard and cpu. This is the only way I can keep my job. I can't afford a new computer. I know the processor can not that is why I am asking about the motherboard in order to do the upgrade. This is the first time I ever came across this situation.
With the processor being non-upgradeable, a new motherboard that fits in the case would not be that difficult. It isMini ITXDimensions: 17.0x17.0 cm (6.7x6.7 in)Just start shopping for that size motherboard that can use the Memory you have in that unit. Then also pick an appropriate CPU. It does not need to be in compliance as a HP replacement as the Windows will not transfer either. Which means a new Windows install or LinuxRead other 1 answers

Hi: I agree with you. I took a look at the motherboard illustration, and I do not see any kind of expansion slots available for add on graphics, or any other PCIe card. I bought a computer from someone else. So, I assume they wipe the system clean.(Reformatted the system). Or whatever it called.
At one point I have no sound. So, I went to Device Manager and this was listed under "Sound, games, video controllers".
-Legacy Audio Drivers
-Legacy Video Capture Devices
-Media Control Devices
So, as reading other forums. I download Realtek High Definition Audio Driver, and went to Hp.com site to update driver based on my computer type.
But, my sound is low. I have speaker from another computer which is Hp 533w computer. It shouldn't matter what kind of speakers I have the volume shouldn't be low.
Is it my speaker (*** IT can't be speaker because volume in my headphones is low as well***) or It must be something I download incorrect or missing something to download?
Why does it say under control panel, sound. Now, at the top of Sound configuration box it says "Realtek HD Audio Rear Output"? I don't know what this is. As I had other computers in past it never said this up there.

Look at the sticker on the case and advise what the product number is so we can determine the exact model number of your HP dv6 laptop.
Go into Control Panel - Device Manager, then click the + in Sound Video And Game Controllers, then advise what's listed in that heading.
If there's an Other Devices heading, advise what's listed there too.

Still no solutions. When I hit Resolved a few days ago it was because I thought that HP had got the info and was going to resolve the problem. Simple me. Resolved means that HP doesn't have a problem anymore, not that the customer problem is resolved. The sound has gone on my laptop and a local computer shop has found that the audio output has a fault. Then HP says that the computer is out of warranty because the date of purchase is shown as 08/03/16, but the computer was bought in the States, so the date id August 3rd 2016. They asked a lot of questions and got the answers, but have not done anything to solve the warranty or the sound problem. Please get this sorted.
Here at the Forum we have no direct access to warranty resources and can't honor a claim or put the warranty in force. I am confused about the date of purchase. Isn't 08/03/16 August 3, 2016 in the U.S. and March 8, 2016 in Europe? So HP is reading it as a European date? We are happy to assist with self-help ideas but cannot fix your laptop under warranty. That you have to resolve through Warranty Support channels.Read other 1 answers

First, I am a novice user. I have a Hp Pavilion 9680C desktop (Win98SE).
The speakers are not working-in fact there is no sound at all coming from the computer (with or without speakers). The computer came with Polk audio speakers that mount on the side of the monitor. At first I thought they were not working but I removed them and plugged in a set of CREATIVE speakers but still no sound.
Any idea what the problem could be?
I checked for a conflict in the Device Manager and from everything I can tell there should be sound.

I have a HP Pavilion 500-314 that I purchased about a 3 weeks ago. Then suddenly around 1-2am this morning the sound goes out. I tried downloading audio drivers for my computer and re-installed them with no success. I did some googling and it appears a lot of people are having this issue. I came across a post in the forums for laptops talking about it is a windows update that is the cause of this. Problem is, the update that they are listing and saying to uninstall is an update that I never got. So then I checked all the cables going to the desktop speakers and my headphones and they all work. I tried rebooting several times, restarting the windows audio service, and even tried to do a system restore. Nothing seems to be working. I never wanted to switch to windows 8 because all I have been having is problems. But Microsoft knows best right? Just push crap on people that they don't even want and make it difficult for people to get a working OS. I am out of ideas to get the computer working the way it was. I have an online class I have to take to get a certification for my job that ran me $1,550 for. I need my sound back. Any help will be appreciated.
Hi gottea, Please review the search results for your PC here. There are four chioces. I am linking you to the US model which may be incorrect. Here is an HP troubleshooting document. It may provide some additional tips for solving this problem. Have you tried installing IDT audio using HP's Recovery Manager? As you have done a factory restore this may not help. One thought would be if you are using an HDMI connection to your monitor. Windows may be setting the default audio to HDMI instead of IDT audio. You may have a hardware problem. This is a possibility based on the age of your PC (brand new!) and doing a factory recovery failed to correct the problem. Contact HP Support if the troubleshooting advice per the above document fails. i want to know of the HP Pavilion Desktop - 550-201nx is upgradable to the gtx 1070?
@saaddx?, welcome to the forum. Yes, if the card will fit into the space where the card will be installed it should work. However, with that said, you will first have to check to see if there is enough space for a power supply unit (PSU) upgrade. The 180W PSU that is installed is not near enough power for the GTX 1080. I recommend at least 550W. Also, you should check the motherboard to assure that it has a standard 24 pin ATX power connector. I like Corsair products. A modular PSU is good for smaller mid-size cases. You only have to install the cables that are absolutely necessary. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.Read other 1 answers

@RLM-JR9, welcome to the forum. Here is the memory that has been fully tested to assure that it will work with the motherboard: Dual channel memory architectureFour DDR3 DIMMs (240-pin) socketsPC3-8500 (DDR3-1066)PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)Non-ECC memory only, unbufferedSupports 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB DDR3 DIMMsSupports up to 16 GB on 64-bit systemsSupports up to 4 GB on 32-bit PCs*32-bit PCs cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory. The main thing to note is, the motherboard supports Dual channel memory architecture. This means that you will get better performance by installing memory modules in pairs. I believe the memory that you mentioned should work. However, I suggest contacting Kingston's Tech Support to make certain. Adding new technology to an older computer can cause problems that are unforeseen. Here is the memory that is recommended by Crucial Memory. They make very good memory for OEM computers. If there app recommends it, it is guaranteed to work or it will be replaced at no additional cost to you. You should read all of the information on the pages. Another thing to consider is buying a SSD. They will improve system performance beyond belief. I will never have a computer without a SSD boot drive. Morio Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! The ONLY way to restore the Recovery drive is to do a complete factory restore of your PC using something known as HP Recovery Media. HP Recovery Media is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities. In some cases, you may be able to order a USB stick instead of disks. You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded. You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/driversOnce there, input your Product name or number. I've got a user who's a pretty good distance from me, who's pavillion slim line 400-434 is giving him the 511 CPU fan not detected error on startup. My first instinct was to pick up a fan & head on out there, but from what I can tell, that PC uses a Nutmeg-P motherboard, where CPU is soldered to the motherboard, making me think this may not be a fan I can just run into a Fry's & pick up a replacement. Can anyone confirm this & tell me what my options are? Thanks!
mikey59 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I maintain some older HP PCs for folks, and in the last several months, I've seen this same problem on ALL of them! And in ALL cases, both the CPU fan and case fan are working fine! This is some kind of fault in the BIOS that claims the CASE fan is not running. If you go into the BIOS hardware monitoring section, you will either see no case fan listed, or you will see a fan speed of ZERO. In my cases, the case fan was listed and ALL reported fan speeds of ZERO. I tried different fans, and no change -- so obviously, this is a flaw in the BIOS error reporting logic. The way to "fix" this is to disable the message -- and to do that, you have to go into the BIOS advanced setting and if case fan monitoring is enabled, you Disable it.Good LuckRead other 1 answers

Hi: HP supports your PC for up to W7 64 bit. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-a6600-Desktop-PC-series/3793920/model/3825363/docume... That's not to say you can't run W10 on it, but there is no W10 driver support from HP for any PC made before August of 2013. I am running W10 on a HP dc7800 CMT business desktop PC which has pretty much the same Intel chipset as yours, and it works fine. However... I am pretty sure that the card reader your PC has won't work on W10. The multimedia keyboard functions probably won't work on W10. Just the basic keyboard will work. There are available W10 drivers for some of the hardware components if W10 doesn't install them directly.Read other 1 answers
