I was encountering this problem last week:
http://www.sevenforums.com/general-d...all-files.html

I did a clean reinstall and was sort-of able to get the laptop to boot to normal mode. I say "sort-of" because it still has a couple of issues:
1) After the clean install, Windows update downloaded about 150 updates. After rebooting, I ran into the same issue as before - unable to boot into normal mode. I did another clean reinstall and installed the Windows updates 1 by 1 and found that installing the Intel Graphics adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics adapter WDDM1.2 - Intel HD Graphics 4000 was causing the problem. If I don't install this update, I don't have the file corruption issue.

2) The other problem is that I can't get my laptop to display on an external display. The Win + P keys don't bring up the display selection dialog. I installed the above-mentioned Intel graphics update and the Win + P keys were working now - but now the laptop goes into safe mode within 10-20 seconds of booting up - same as the original problem. So now I can't display on an external monitor unless I install the Intel driver but the driver corrupts the system files and I run into the original problem.

3) The last issue is that the 'space' key on the laptop is acting oddly - hitting the space key almost always resets the cursor pointer a few words before where it's supposed to be, or the cursor just disappears. This didn't happen prior to the file corruption so I'm wondering if this is ... Read more

Hello Sam95 and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you think the installation of this graphic adapter is the cause of your problems than I think it would be wise to either take it away (run the uninstall program that came with the adapter ) or if that does not work, restore your system till a date before this installation.

So of course now my computer is experiencing the same slow boot time and general sluggishness. How can I remove it?

Hi. I have been having a problem for months now where I can install all Windows 7 updates, except for Intel Corporation - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2 - Intel® HD Graphics. The update came out in June, and I have yet to be able to install it as I keep getting an error each time I've tried. My LCD screen keeps shutting off at random times. I usually have to unplug it, plug it back in, and move my mouse a bit before it will turn back on. When I restart my computer, it will be a blank black screen, and I have to repeat the process. I'm thinking it is linked to this update that I need to install. At least I'm hoping that's the case. Any help would be appreciated, and happy new year guys!

Hi...I'm running Win7 Home Premium (64-bit), 8Gb RAM, with the chip:
Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz
Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology

Graphics is not dedicated and is handled via this Intel chip.
During Windows Updates, MS ones download perfectly.

However, I also get an additional 'optional' update named: 'Intel Corporation - Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics'

This has never succeeded in downloading.
The MS explanation is always the same: possible interruption from my connection to their server...yet never any interruption when I download MS updates at exactly the same time!

After that, I get the usual 'download Mr Fix It' software which proves itself to be utterly useless in helping me find why the download is not succeeding.

I run Avast anti-virus and Zone Alarm firewall...but I can't figure out if they are somehow preventing the download.

I'd appreciate any help on this....

Many thanks

Hey, I wanted to put some new games on my Laptop, and I got the Direct X 9.0c Compatible Graphics Adapter message. So I went online, and was instructed to go onto Device Manager and I found I had Standard VGA Graphics Adapter, so then I got some kind of update checker and it looked through my hardware and found that my Graphic Adapter needed updating...

I have already put some of the games I want on my laptop before now, and un-installed them when I ran out of space, and now I have more space I want to put them back on.

I tried a link for the Update, but it told me to use Windows Update, but it doesn't seem to work.

Does anyone know a free way of updating Standard VGA Graphics Adapter?

I am using the VGA port of a Dell 4-in-1 adapter (DA100) to connect my XPS 13 with touch screen display to a Dell U2412M monitor. The Intel HD Graphics Control Panel does not detect that there is an external monitor attached to the computer, i.e., the Graphics Options menu does not show the "Output To" option, the Graphics Properties' Display menu shows only "Built-in Display" under the Select Display tab, etc. The DA100 was installed remotely by Dell Support (after neither I nor they could find the driver on the Dell support website, as instructed to do by the software driver download guide that comes with the adapter), so I assume that it was installed correctly. One of my programs has been crashing recently and, after contacting the support team of the program, it seems like the issue is caused by my Intel graphics driver being out of date. Since HP does not update the driver automatically, support suggested downloading the most recent driver from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25978/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-1-15-36- . Hello all, I have recently done a completely clean install of Windows 10 on my Y40-70. I am experiencing two graphics related issues: 1. The latest Intel HD Graphics Driver update breaks the display. When either updated by Windows Update, or myself from Lenovo's website (link), the update causes the screen to immediately go blank and stay that way until I go into safe mode, and disable the driver in Windows Device Manager. 2. I am unable to use the AMD graphics card (Radeon R9 M275). Currently Device Manager tells me that the driver for the device is up to date (15.200.1050.0) but Catalyst Control Manager cannot see the card, and nothing I can do will make the machine switch to that card. I have tried multiple times cleanly uninstalling all AMD everything, and reinstalling from both Lenovo's site and AMD's, to no avail. I imagine that these problems are related, but I'm not sure how. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have an Acer Aspire 5745 and it has Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. I have Intel HD Graphics version 8.15.10.2104. I decided to upload it so I searched my laptop on Acer's site but they offer drivers for 64bit only so I downloaded drivers for another Acer model laptop (it uses the same drivers as my model does). I tried to install it but it says "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer".
So I decided to update my driver through device manager and I asked it to update from the folder where I had extracted the driver downloaded from Acer's site. But it says that your driver is up-to-date (it surely isn't).
Please help me, I need to update this driver for smooth gameplay.....

A:Update error in Intel HD Graphics driver

Have you tried the 64 bit version that Acer says is for your specific model? Many times drivers are for both 32 and 64 bit OS. You can also try the Intel site for your Intel chipset.

Proper game play isn't just the video driver. The PC must meet (usually exceed) all the other requirements of the game.

I run dxdiag and check in with other methods and my graphics card is Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family, specifically GM965. I have version 6.14.10.4885. The latest according to intel is 6.14.10.5009, but when I download the installer and run it, after extracting, it says that the install is not validated for my computer. I downloaded this installer:

I have Lenovo G500 59-370339 laptop. Today I installed this update. Intel Corporation - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3 - Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000. Download size: 99.6 MBIntel Corporation Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3 software update released in January, 2014  Unfortunately, my screen began to flicker non stop. I waited for like 10 minutes, then shut down my laptop. I restarted it, the problem was still there. With great difficulty I restored my lappy to a previous position prior to this update. Now the flickering is gone as I've restored back.  What should I do? Is this update buggy or my laptop has some problem?

hi archz2,

Possible that you have a bad update,
Try Updating the system again by running the WIndows Update and check.
It should work!

Let me know your findings
Cheers!

Dell has released an update to the Intel 530/P530 driver. This is the first update since last October. Hopefully this will fix the all too often driver crashing with "Video driver has stopped responding...." messages.

Intel HD Graphics 3000/2000 (Sandybridge) Windows 10 Graphics Driver support ?

According to the link (footnote 2) that cards drivers were only supported in "legacy mode" (compatibility) even in win 8.1. It may do the same in win 10 and the only way to find it is to try it

To install in compatibility mode do the following:

Right click the installer>properties>compatibility>choose OS

Make older programs run in this version of Windows

After a sudden overnight update to Windows 10 the machine started to freeze and crash - mostly while the mouse cursor moves or dialog opens or other display changes happen quickly. I figure I should update the graphics card, which is listed as Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 My Envy 4 machine runs a 64-bit system on core i3 2376 CPU @1.4Ghz For that machine, the Intel website will not give an option for a Windows 10 update. The driver version is wayyyyy behind: version 9.17.10.4229 Current version update is for Windows 8 for that graphic card. It is here:https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81500/Intel-HD-Graphics-3000-for-2nd-Generation-Intel-Core-...The version there is listed as 15.28.24.64.4229 which is signed to a year ago, with a slightly lower version number released 2/2016 (16 months ago). It is only given as an .exe package which will not install because of spec incompatibility. Can I get the Win8 driver for the Win10 machine? If this makes sense where can I get the file itself and how to do this? TIA Yuval

Trying to run Sketchup, get error message from sketchup that graphics card supports OpenGL version 2.1 and Sketchup requires version 3.0 or greater to run. They suggested updating graphics card driver to correct. not sure how or where to get driver and which driver to use. Current driver is 8.15.10.2900 as identified by Intel system Identification, for "Intel (R) HD Graphics" card, no number or model shown.

I'm having trouble installing the update for my HD Graphics 4600. Whenever I attempt to install the recommended updatedgraphics driver from HP, I get the error message "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for this software" and exits. I have attempted all of the recommended fixes with no luck. When I go to DEVICE MANAGER>Display adapters>Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600>Right Click>Proprties>Events tab The "Information" field has this message  : "Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0416&SUBSYS_2290103C&REV_06\3&11583659&1&10 requires further installation." what does this mean and how do I fix it.

Hello guys,

Recently my laptop (Asus X550L, Windows 10) was getting an annoying error on my Intel graphics. It will hang up a bit then display a prompt that my "graphic stopped working and was recovered." It happens when I'm playing some videos on Youtube or playing games. I also notice that the applications I setup to run on my GT840m won't run on it, instead, it will use the onboard graphics.

Below are the things I tried:
1. Update my intel driver using windows update. After download and installation, on the end, it says, "illegal operation attempted on a registry key marked for deletion". Also tried downloading driver on their website but it also fails to install.
2. Removed the driver then tried to re-install it using windows update and downloaded driver. Same happens above. But now the working graphics is my discrete (GT 840M).
3. I also tried to update/re-install the driver on Safe Mode, same result.
4. Tried to look some answers regarding the error on no. 1 in connection with driver installations but I did not find anything on the internet.

Here are my basic laptop specs:
Intel i7-4500u
Intel Graphics Display 4400
Nvidia GeForce 840M
8Gb Ram

I'm out of ideas so I'm hoping that anyone can help me here. Thanks!

I've tried about almost every "solution" I could find on the internet and it's just been one problem after another.

I've just recently received this laptop and I went and tried to play The Sims 3 on here, but when I tried and go play it an error popped up stating "Can't run The Sims 3 with the video card in this system" blah blah. So when I finally found the issue and went to try and update the graphic card, it would say the installation was successful and that I just needed to restart my computer. But I restart my laptop and it still shows up as "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" under Device Manager. That happened when I went to install the "Intel(R) HD Graphics Family". I've tried every single method I could find to updating this stupid graphics driver, but I've just been running into one problem after another. I thought I finally found a solution when I went to go and try and install the beta version of "Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400", but at the end a window pops up talking about "The driver selected for this device does not support this version of Windows." Every single thing I've tried so far as resulted in nothing but failure. I don't know if it's my laptop that's the problem or what. All I know is I'm about ready to give up at this point.
