HI all, I had bought Lenovo Yoga 3 tablet (2 GB RAM) 16 GB 8 inch) in Dec-2016 in Bangalore INDIA. Model Number: LENOVO YT3-850M. Andriod Marshmellow - 6.0.1 There is a problem with WIFI. It keeps dropping regularly even though tablet is within a feet distance from the WIFI router.In the WIFI menu the router name comes but if i select nothing happens and you can see that the tablet is not connected to any WIFI. The only way to temporarly solve the issue is to restart the tablet but that too lasts maybe 1 hr before the WIFI connection goes away. I saw in another thread of this community where it was suggested to do factory reset. I have done that too but the issue still exists. I have another PC and 2 mobiles which connects to the same router. So there is no problem with the router Any suggestions how to fix? Thanks.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

Hello, i noticed that when i'm turned on laptop to tablet mode (physically) wifi stops working or wifi signal becoming very low.  I'm using Lenovo thinkpad yoga 14. Maybe you have a solution for this problem?

Can you please post the full model number of your Thinkpad Yoga 14?
Are you using Windows 10?
 
I may suggest you first to try to update the Wifi drivers and maybe some other of the system driver of you Yoga.
Here are my general tips:
 
1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches
2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.
3) Try to install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows App Store, Lenovo Companion also has a "update driver search"
4) Sometimes all that software does not recognize some updated / missing driver. Check Lenovo's Support Site and search for your specific model drivers (use the full model number of your Thinkpad).
 
After that we can try a little bit more. For example I also like to test it on some other Wifi networks just to be sure it is not a compatibility issue with the Wifi Router.

Hello

This problem is frustrating me a lot now. After upgrading to WIndows 10, I have noticed that my Wi-Fi connection frequently drops without any pattern whatsover. It just drops randomly and re-connects after 2-3 minutes. If I attempt to connect to the network in that period of 2-3 minutes, it will sometimes connect, and sometimes fail. I have 2 other laptops (1 of which has Windows 10) and they don't experience this problem.

I have searched online and tried tons of things. Nothing has fixed the problem so far! Below are all the things I tried. Please help if you have any suggestions or if there are known issues with Windows 10.

1. Updated the driver software
2. Uninstalled the driver and re-installed it
3. Unchecked the setting of 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' in Power Management of the wireless network adapter.
4. Uninstalled anti-virus to eliminate anti-virus as the issue.
5. Disabled 'Wifi Sense' options of 'Connect to suggested hotspots' & 'Connect to networks shared by my contacts'.

I am clueless as to what the issue is. Please help!

Every time I twist my yoga (i.e. go into tablet mode physically) wifi stops working. I understand your concern and will assist you to resolve this issue.
 
The touch keyboard doesn?t appear automatically, if you?re using a desktop app. Instead, you need to select keyboard in the taskbar.

Hi, in tablet mode on the Yoga 900, the keyboard is split and I'm trying to figure out how set it so it isn't split.  There is a button in the bottom right corner of the right side of the keyboard that looks like a keypad, but nothing happens when I touch it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good Evening,  I recently purchased a Lenovo Erazer x315 for my girlfriend which worked fine for the first week. Now however the Wi-Fi keeps dropping connection, though it shows it?s still connected and she has to manually disconnect and reconnect to the Wi-Fi. It has disconnected her 4 times in the last hour as I've been trying to google solutions. She did the scan via the diagnostics page on this website and nothing failed. We thought it could be her router taking a dump, but her old laptop has been able to maintain a connection throughout her disconnects. The tower is primarily used for Teamspeak, Archeage, Minecraft, YouTube, FB, and a few artsy programs she has. Don?t know if any of that would affect it. Any help would be appreciated, being that I'm in the military, gaming is our main source of keeping in touch. The constant DC's are kind of aggravating to say the least.

I have a few-months old Yoga 2 11 that was working perfectly, until a few weeks ago when I went to use it in tablet mode the display screen went all out of whack. It turns the screen, but only half of it - the top half of the screen is turned and the menu bar shows up in the middle of the screen, and the bottom half looks like the screen in regular computer mode.  I've tried restarting, tried turning tablet mode off, but every time I flex it back to use as a tablet this happens, virtually making that feature unuseable. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution for it?

I have a Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 running Windows 8.1. When I attempted to update the operating system to Windows 10, there was an error (I'm not sure what exactly the error was, or what caused it, as I was not monitoring it at the time) and now the tablet will not boot to any operating system. When I turn it on it says: "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart." Then, it restarts, and loads a page that says: "Recovery // Your PC couldn't start properly. // A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed. // Error code: 0xc0000225 // You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer."

I have done some research and it appears that I will need to create a USB recovery drive, but I am not confident in exactly how to do that in a way that will work on my tablet. I am not partial to any particular operating system (between Windows 8.1 and 10), I just need a functioning tablet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Lenovo Yoga 710 14 " Signature Edition 2-in-1 PC- bought it two days ago. W10. I have problems with the touchscreen when using it as a tablet. The touchscreen is working perfectly when it's in PC mode. Once I fold it and putting it flat (down at the table etc.)- the screen is no longer responding. Hi, I've been experiencing an issue since the re-installation of Windows 10 on my lenovo yoga 510-14ISK. When I flip the computer to a "tablet" position, I face two problems :1) the tablet mode in windows 10 won't want to activate itself automatically2) the manual keyboard and the trackpad aren't disabled which is very very annoying I did not have those problems on my previous installation of Windows 10 (same version).I've tried to update my pilotes, as well as restarting my computer sevral times but the problem is still here... Anyone has a guess ? Have a great day.

This is not a question, but really a suggestion to all of you who are about to update your BIOS. Lenovo released a new BIOS version for Lenovo Yoga 720 15 inches (BIOS Update - 10 [64] - V.4MCN24WW. This update brought back fan noise and frequently operation like it was before the BIOS update (BIOS Update - 10 [64] - V.4CN23W).  So the 24th version of the update is running fans as loud as the 22nd version. No good. If you know how to fix this problem then please let me know. Please do not update your BIOS because it brings back loud fan noise. I am hoping the fan issue thing will be fixed. The reason I did not want to purchase Lenovo Yoga model because they have been notoriously known for fan noise. The problem that was fixed with the 23 version of the BIOS update seems to be back with the 24 version.

Please could someone help me with a problem I have had for the last 18 months. My Z70 cannot fully obtain a good wifi signal when my router is only a few feet away.  My 13.3" HP can deliver blistering speed from the same distance. So I had to purchase Netgear Wireless-N DualBand which connects into my USB port and yes it does work. The retailer I bought it from John Lewis in UK were not at all helpful. They said they could send it away for inspection and could take up to 3 months. Now can anyone advise if there is a faulty wireless card in my machine that needs replacement, or something else maybe?  I am lost and would really appreciate some help from Lenovo  what to do.  I cant use it outside my home, it just won't connect to any wireless signal. I bought in August 2015, upgraded to Win10 and the wireless worked fine for 6 months, but gradually deterioated over time.  Thanks. Pete  

A:My Z70 Lenovo Tablet can't access wifi without a wireless booster

I dont know about this tablet but the wifi in some devices is very susceptible to interference from other nearby signals (I've seens this myself on a tablet and a laptop before). Routers in the UK mostly use one of 3 channels by default (1, 6 or 11, I think) so it is not uncommon for those to get crowded.You could try installing a wifi analyser program on your laptop. (If you have another working tablet you could use that - there are good freeware programs for andoid to do it.) This will give you an indication if this might be the case for you. They often give a graphic display which is easy to read and understand. If it looks like a possibility try changing the channel your router settings to use one in a less crowded area of the spectrum.You devices may adjust to the new settings automatically, but you might need to sign into the wifi again - it varies.This can make a huge difference.

Hi.  I have a problem with my yoga 710 in tablet mode. The on screen keyboard just pops up and goes away after a secound.  Some say its a problem with Chrome. But the problems also occurs when i try to log in to windows in tablet mode. The keyboard pops up, and goes away so i cant type my passcode. If i flip the pc out of tablet mode and opens the onscreen keybord by pushing on it on the taskbar it stays open. Someone know how to fix this?

I've had this laptop only for 3 days and for the past 2 it has stopped asking me if I want to switch to tablet mode when I pick the laptop up and begin to fold it back a bit... Another and more important issue is that the physical keyboard and touchpad DON'T disable when I use the laptop in either stand, tent or tablet modes. Please help me resolve these problems!

I am the owner of a brand new Lenovo Yoga 720, 13" screen, and the internet is pretty slow over wifi. I am getting download speeds 2x or 3x higher on my iPhone and on my wife's Macbook Air, and not sure why that would be the case as all devices are connected to the same wifi network. Anyway, any help would be much appreciated from the community. Hi, so i got a problem. I got 2. wifi netwrok at home. Both working fine on other devices. But on yoga 910 is like this. I am conected to network 1 (n1) and when i tried to switch to network 2 (n2) i got yellow triangle and no internet connection and vice versa so yellow triangle when try to connect from N2 to N1. Only way to get it work is to disabel wifi adapter under device manager (and right after enable again)and then right click on wifi icon and do troubleshoot wifi.. I got this problem since i set up the second wifi network but since there is no problem on other devices i assume that  is someting worng with my pc.

Hey yall, so I just downloaded Windows 8.1 and suddenly I cannot connect to my university's wifi anymore. It isnt an internet problem per say, because i can still connect with an ethernet cable, but it just is not picking up any wifi! And i dont think the wifi is the issue because I can still get it on my phone. PLEASE HELP I HAVE FINALS coming up and need to be able to Use Wifi!!!! Thanks in advance!!!

Open Device Manager and uninstall the WLAN 802.11 driver "Place a check on the Delete driver software for this device ". The hit on scan for Hardware Changes.
Delete the driver again until it does not show you a check box for deleting driver software then Restart the computer.
 
Now install this
Intel WLAN Driver for Windows 8.1
Then try reconnecting again.

Hi. I'm trying to replace my Broadcom wifi card with a better one. I'm not an expert in this kind of things, but I have read that I could have a better internet with another wifi card instaled...I searched few days on amazon (uk) and ebay, to find a suitable one, but...it seems to be more complicated than I though...Could anyone, please, provide a link from where I can buy one (as I have read, must be IBM/Lenovo compatible) I would much apreciate! Hello!Recently I've changed the thermal compound on the CPU of my Lenovo Yoga 2 pro. Before the change there were no problems. But now I have 2:- Wifi isn't working. Network adapter isn't detected by the laptop. It just doesn't show up. Funny thing is that bluetooth works!- Right USB isn't working, no idea why.Everything else seems okay. Any solutions? Tips? Hi I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 and I can't connect to public/guest WiFi. I can connect at home on our private network but at school I click the connect button and my browser will open like it's trying to open the login page but it just loads and never comes up. I tried contacting Lenovo months ago and they said it was something with my school's network but I can't connect to any public networks at all. I know it's not the networks because I can access them on my phone. I also tried contacting IT at my school and they said they couldn't help me because it was my personal device. Any suggestions? Hi, I bought a brand new Lenovo Yoga 910 series laptop, costing a fortune. Its not even 20 days since I bought this laptop, I am seeing the wifi adaptor losing the connection within 5 mins of usage. Whats worse, it causing my wifi router to jam as well, and all of my other devices loses connection. I have few other devices, including a lenovo thinkpad, where i never faced any issues till date.  After some research I found out that the wifi adaptor in the lenovo yoga is Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4a  and it has lots of issues on Windows 10 and people are complaining on multiple forums about it since couple of years. Suprising that Lenovo nor Microsoft nor Qualcomm has not fixed it yet or I couldnt find a proper solution till now.  It is such a bad customer experience, that such a basic thing like wifi connectivity is not working properly on such a high end laptop. I feel I just made a bad decision of buying this waste device instead of a Mac book Pro. Hope someone from Lenovo fixes this for me or else I shall return this device.

I reset the notebook with the One Key Recovery application.
The notebook has been reset but can not find the WIFI card. It disappeared, it seems that it does not exist. The ethernet icon appears in the bar below the windows and the only possibility is to create a VPN connection. I do not know how to do it ... restoring the notebook with one recovery should not have these problems

I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 pro 1370 running Window 10 build 10586.104This is a fresh install less than one week old. I conducted a fresh install in an effort to solve a problem I have been having for over amonth now.With the WiFi network adapter enabled I am unable to move the laptop nor move the screen as this causes the entire system to freeze requiring a full reboot. This is the second time I have had issues with the WiFi dropping out frequently.  The first time was when I first downloaded windows 10 - I downloaded a new driver from the Lenovo website and everything worked perfectly.  The last couple of months it has been playing up again. My phone and any other devices will be connected to the internet however my laptop will repeatedly disconnect from the internet, this happens a ridiculous amount of times everyday - and it's not just my home wifi! Im currently at my university library and it does the same thing. It just drops out randomly and says "not connected - no connects are available" I have to keep restarting my laptop for it to reconnect to the internet (I know that's probably not the best thing to do but it's the only thing that sometimes works). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver software, I've scanned for hardware changes and nothing comes up?? Has anyone got any ideas on anything else I could try?  Thank you all!

Hello, The WiFi adapter is the Intel Dual Band wireless-ac 3160 and the drivers are from October 2017, the Device Manager is showing the network card as working without issues and nothing is reporting any problems, yet I am unable to simply turn the WiFi ON. The operating system is Windows 10 and I have tried the following: - enabling the WiFi interface using the command prompt (says it is already enabled)- trying older drivers for the Intel Dual Band wireless-ac 3160 (still will not turn ON)- opening the laptop and disconnecting the two wires from the WiFi module, then reconnecting (still no difference)- disabling and then re-enabling the Wireless in BIOS (no difference)- loading default settings in BIOS (no difference)- installing Windows 8.1 from scratch (same problem)- re-installing Windows 10 (same problem)- installed all of the Lenovo utilities and Companions I could find (still nothing)- windows troubleshooting simply tells me to switch the WiFi ON using either a hardware switch (which does not exist on this notebook) or the software switch using the keyboard - I press the F7 for airplane mode and it says that it goes into that mode, then pressed again and it simply goes back to WiFi which is turned OFF and showing the red X What is interesting is that when I booted TAILS from a USB drive the WiFi worked without issues, so this is obviously a software problem. Any suggestions?

Hi My laptop is just 3 months old, has been working fine up till  now. All of a sudden it won't connect to wifi, or it will for a second then go off again. Yesterday all options for wifi went completely missing, in the toolbar on the bottom right hand side, the icon for wifi had dissappearEd and when I went into settings,wifi settings had gone from there too. The icons are back now and I could connect to my wifi, but it says there is no Internet connection. There is Internet through the wifi though because I'm using my phone on the wifi!! I tried to disconnect from the wifi and economy again but it has been trying to connect to the wifi for the last 10 mins! Help!!!! Thankso Jamie

Here is my situation (read carefully): I never had wifi problems with my 1st gen Lenovo Yoga running Windows 8 64-bit. Always super fast wifi and 5 bars on the icon. One morning, I couldn't connect to my home wifi (unidentified network), but I had no problem on my Android phone. I called my Internet provider and they "separated" the 2.4GHz channel (made for further distances, but slower) and the 5GHz channel (for shorter distances, faster). From then on, I could see the 2.4GHz on my laptop, but not connect to it and I couldn't see the 5GHz.On my phone, I could see both. As I obviously suspected a problem with the Realtek RTL8723A network adapter on my laptop, I reinstalled the driver, which partly solved the problem, as I can now surf the Internet on the 2.4GHz, but still can't see the 5GHz.Plus, I only have 1 bar on the icon, even though I'm 2m from the router. Is there anything I could do to see both channels, just like on my phone, and be able to use the faster 5GHz channel? Thanks
