Q: Internet Explorer-Outlook

How can I print my list of Favorites,
including the web page address?

Preferred Solution: Internet Explorer-Outlook

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello All,

I have an interesting problem that just started happening and I'm not sure what is going on. I have researched and found no other support topics that cover what has been happening.

When trying to log into my exchange server remotely (OWA) I get the login box. This is in Internet Explorer. I enter my username and password and it just kicks back out like I typed something incorrectly. However, I know it is not wrong.

1.) I am on a Windows 7 machine with IE 7. I tried my machine, an XP machine, Vista machine and even my server 2003. None can log into web mail with Internet Explorer. *note* these are all different computers that I have tried.

2.) I tried Google Chrome instead of IE. I can log in fine.

It seems to be related to Internet Explorer. However, I have tried on different machines with different versions and still no luck. Any ideas as I am lost? Thanks.

My best friend has a Gateway computer that I sold her about three years ago. Windows XP home edition. I helped her set up Outlook Express for her email. Her email works perfectly fine EXCEPT if anyone includes a link via email (even though it's a clickable link), when you click the link, nothing happens. I went into the settings of Outlook Express and everything is set up correctly (just like mine). I tried everything I can think of and the links will not work if you click them at all. Does anyone have any idea why? Thanks

Something very strange is happening to my computer. With certain emails that come in -- I can see the first few lines of text through the preview (though NOT in the preview pane), but when I try to open the email it looks as if it is blank. Also, when I try to go to certain websites (this one included) I can only see the large images at the top of the screen, but nothing else. Also, I can't see the Restore down/Maximize buttons on the upper right hand corner of Outlook and IE (though I CAN see the minimize and close buttons).

The only thing that I can think of... it that I was looking at paint swatches online and I allowed them to recallibrate so that I could see the colors properly -- I noticed this problem shortly after that.

I did a full virus scan and it came back clean.

Hello all,

My Internet Explorer program has a problem going to other links from a main page. An error window opens saying it is having a problem and will send a message to their home page and restart the program.

My outlook express program opens error messages at startup stating that some dll files cannot be read and that I should reinstall the program.

I have tried reinstalling both programs without success. Could their be another program causing some interference?

Hi Everybody
My OS Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600)

I use a dial up connection and get a max of 50 kbps. (Living on an island in the middle of the indian Ocean - this is a luxury!!)
I have taken a bit of time to read through the earlier problems mentioned here and found my problem a bit unique (I hope So!).

My problems started a while ago. I have Win Xp Pro. with all updates available. About a month ago i noticed that everytime i opened Outlook express, Norton anti virus window would automatically pop up and send an email out - though i have not had any mail in my outbox or drafts folders. It is to be noted that my license for NAV has expired but i get the updates from the IT dept. on a CD and i update (I think Symantec would consider this illegal!!). Further, when i open my IE browser, everything is fine. When i do a search and then open a search in a new window - invariably there is a delay before any icon on the desk becomes active - even if i wanted to close or maximise the window - no luck. It would just freeze and take a while before anything happens. Now before this i had KazaaLite installed and then had Kazaa MD installed - i learnt later that they get installed side-by-side. Never knew actually. Now i went ahead and updated to the latest Ver of KMD and then i noticed quite a few other additional programmes installed. So Uninstalled the whole lot - incl KLite. I then end up with a Wupdater.exe fault window pop-up a... Read more

Hi,
As I known, incorrect date and time settings on your PC can cause problems accessing web-based email servers. Make sure that the date and time settings are correct on your PC.

If the date and time settings on your PC were correct, incompatible or defective Internet Explorer add-ons might be interfering with the website. I suggest running IE with no add-ons for a test. Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System
Tools -> Internet Explorer (with no add-ons).
You may also install the most recent cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. To do this, go to the following Microsoft website: http://update.microsoft.com
If the issue still persists, you can reset Internet Explorer to its original settings as Akshay Pate mentioned to remove any changes to Internet Explorer without deleting your favorites or feeds.
In addition, please check the related logs in Event Viewer.
What information appears in event logs (Event Viewer)?

I have Outlook Express set to read and send emails in PLAIN TEXT, but when I copy stuff from a website for example it pastes it in exactly like it was. How do I fix this?!

Example: Someone sends me an email, I click reply, I open up Google.com and copy this from the bottom of their website:

Advertising Programs - Business Solutions - About Google
?2005 Google

--- notice here it pastes it as plain text. I want that for Outlook Express, but instead it pastes it as blue text with underlining just like on the website. I hate that.

OK running Internet explorer you can click on 'Tools' the 'Internet Options' then the 'Programs tab' to access a location with drop down lists of program that can be used as defaults for your Interent explorer. Like Email.

I have a person that IS Using Outlook Express for all of her Email, and has been using it for some time, but when I go to the "Tools, Internet Options, Programs, and access the drop-down list for "Email:"" the only Mail program available is Outlook.

She does not want to use Outlook, and claims that when she does, it resends ...EVERY Sent email... Again.

Why is Outlook Express NOT in the drop-down list to allow it to be set as the default Email for Internet Explorer?
How can I add it or at lest set it to be used as the default Mail program?

A:Internet Explorer/Outlook Express

mine shows several options - but not Outlook as it's not installed

could try uninstalling outlook (and hope IE then looks for another email client)
and/or
check the OE settings (tools, options, general) is OE listed as the default mail client at the bottom of the tab window?

This is my old Cyrix P166 running Win95, which has generally been very reliable and stable.
It's now running IE5.5 and Outlook Express 5.

I now have several problems caused by others updating and adding...
1. Outlook Express crashes with a Red X screen ('This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down'). OE starts fine if I'm connected to the net via IE first (even if I'm connected and IE has since been closed).

2. It seems to run sluggish.
Here are the programs running (from Ctrl/Alt/Del):
Explorer
Internat
Pop3trap
Pccclient
Pccguide
Rnaapp
Msmsgs
Em_exec
Loadqm
Rundll
Loadwc
Systray
Pcciomon
Wnldr32

Most of these look OK based on www.pacs-portal.co.uk.
But Rnaapp and Wnldr32 aren't in the list. Are they OK?

3. I've used MSConfig and MSinfo32 to find information before, but these aren't on this PC. Are they only Win98 or are they missing?

4. I've run Spybot and got rid of all of the junk I could find.

5. I've run the latest pattern file from PC-Cillin and there are no viruses.

6. Somebody loaded eAnthology, but there's no uninstall and it doesn't show under Add/Remove Progams.
Should I get rid of it? How can I?
I have to go now, but I'll check back tomorrow.

Any help will be greatfully appreciated.

When i am on the net and click on a link to go to another site it starts to go to the other site but stalls at a white, blank page. I cant even get out of it, cant right click and close it, its just stuck there. The only way to get rid of it is by using task mgr and then "end task" feature.Same thing with outlook express, i click on a link to another site the same thing happens as noted above.Sometimes i can cut and paste the link but i cant just click on it, end up with a blank white page that i cant get rid of. I am running avg a\virus and antimalware, along with spybot and other such progs. Internet is explorer 6 and i am running zone alarm pro, peer guardian. I figure its maybe a setting somewhere but i cant find it. Can anyone help me out, please? One other thing. Sometimes, the first time i click on internet explorer it wont open, i have to click a few times to get it to open.

Hi guys! I specifically looked for a forum where i can find help regarding my problem.

I have a Compaq Presario 2185EA laptop and a POP3 mail account hosted in the Philippines. I am having trouble recently accessing my POP3 account. When I connect to the internet using IE I always get an error loading page (or page not found), naturally Outlook also can't find my POP3 server. I tried contacting my host and we tried several different approches. Thing is everytime we try a new configuration it seems to work fine but after a while (I think a day!) it fails again. I even tried reformatting my PC, use another internet browser and mail client, still i get the same problem. I know this problem is local to my laptop, because when I disconnect and try the same settings on my desktop, it works without problems. I have an updated Norton Anti-Virus and have he latest drivers for my laptop (because I thought updating will fix things, not ):tongue2:

Can anybody here help! By the way i am using a Windows XP and I noticed that when I browse files on my Shared folder Explorer crashes. Also I can only restore my XP using the Restore CD image included with the package.

Hope you guys can help me, i'm out of ideas

Hello,

I had been getting rid of the SearchX program by using CWshredder.exe and I may have deleted one file too many.

Now whenever I want to access hypertext on the Internet, I am not able to activate the Javascript, and it states Javascript:... at the bottom of my screen.

Another problem that has occurred on my computer is that before, I used to be able to view Email captions on my Outlook Express, but now when I go to view an email, nothing shows up on my Computer.

I am using Windows XP, and I think that I deleted some sort of driver that is related to the Javascripting on my computer, but I am not sure.

Does anyone have any advice on how I should go about to repair my computer????

With Thanks,

I have 2 XP SP3 computers, one of which I am currently unable to get to run in anything other than safe mode due to malware infection, I have a thread in the Malware forum which I am waiting on assistance for. I have another older computer which I have had many malware problems on as well, including random IE popups of garbage sites. I use Firefox exclusively on both computers, and from what I read even having IE and Outlook on your computer even if you never use them creates so many security threats, and I just don't want to deal with any of the activex problems or continue to leave my computers vulnerable to further infection.
I found some guides to removing them from Windows XP, but there seems to be some potential basic conflicts with how explorer.exe/shell works if you remove all IE and Outlook files. And some of the guides are old, so I at least wanted to be directed to a non-obsolete guide of how to safely remove these programs completely without damaging anything or leaving things inoperable.
Right now on my computer that I can only use safe mode on, I have an old installation of IE 7. On this, the more functional computer, I uninstalled IE 7, which was automatically replaced by IE 6. Can anyone explain or link to me to a reliable explanation on how to rid my systems of these security threats?

A:I want Internet Explorer and Outlook completely removed from my XP pcs

OK don't do that. internet explorer is part of the windows operating system. if you do that it will create problems including no updates, no support and many other problems. DON'T do that. as for outlook, i imagine you can but i would not recommend it. i am not fully sure about out look. if you want to go through with removing outlook, first be sure to create a system check point( I assume you know how to do that, if you don't just ask me). then go to control panel and click add/remove programs. then click on add/remove windows components. then check out look express.

I do not recommedn you do this, but if you want to I am not your mom or dad. BUT I will not be held responsible for anything, telling you how or anything.
My suggestion is don't do this. especially i explorer. it is important to windows. i am not 100% sure you need outlook but i don't think so.

So, a client is running XP Home Edition (SP3) and uses Outlook Express 6 as his default e-mail application. Internet Explorer 8 is his default browser. IE and Outlook Express both run fine. The issue is, when he clicks a link in an e-mail message, IE8 opens up, displays the page, and the "iexplorer.exe" process does NOT exit after closing the IE window. As a result, "iexplorer.exe" process accumulate over time and eventually, clicking links in e-mail messages doesn't result in IE displaying the requested page.

Now, if I run IE8 manually, "iexplorer.exe" processes (2 I believe) are created and when I close the window they all go away.

If I make Google Chrome the default browser and I click a link in an e-mail message within Outlook Express 6, Chrome opens and displays the page. When I close the Chrome window, the "chrome.exe" processes go away, as expected.

The only time the problem occurs is when enough links are clicked in e-mail messages in Outlook Express 6 with IE8 set as the default browser.

If I manually kill all of the "iexplorer.exe" processes, I can click links in e-mail messages in Outlook Express 6 and they open in IE8, as expected. Then, I close the IE8 window and the accumulation starts again.

The system is free from infection and has Microsoft Security Essentials installed as well as Malwarebytes Pro.

Any ideas on what could be causing the "iexplorer.exe" processes to remain loaded when effec... Read more

Hi,

A little while ago when I turned my computer on and loaded up Internet Explorer, I got the "This Page Cannot Be Displayed Message". At first I thought it must have just been a connection problem, but I found that other web applications still worked.

Outlook Express also stopped working. (The program itself worked but it just couldn't connect to the mail server.)

I hadn't installed any new software and the only firewall I had enabled was the Windows one.

I got a copy of Opera and installed it and that is what I am still using now to browse the Internet with. I would really like to go back to Internet Explorer though but just don't know what the problem is.

I have just downloaded Internet Explorer 7 and installed it but that also didn't work and neither does Outlook 2007 which I have also just installed.

All the other Internet applications work perfectly and I just cannot figure out what is wrong.

If anyone has any ideas of what the problem could be, then please could you let me know.

Thank you in advance.

We have been having problems with both Internet Explorer & Outlook Express not working. I ran spybot lastnight and it found quite a few things. I can't remember all of them but one was the virtumonde trojan. I then ran the malwarebytes program and it eliminated the problem. Now when I try to open Internet Explorer it kicks out and says it cannot open the page and asks if I want to save it. I just close out of it. If I hurry and click the red x button I can click Internet Options but I get the message that the operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Outlook Express will receive email but you can't open any of it because it says it's out of memory. I have Trend Micro Internet Security on this computer but it's my husband's computer and I'm not sure how often it was updated. I cannot even get the main console to come up. A:cant access outlook express or internet explorer :(

When did the problem begin and have you tried doing a System Restore to repair it?

Start > run msconfig > Launch System Restore.

If you go to the Control Panel > User Accounts and create a new User Account, does the same problem happen in that account as well?

If you have broadband you can also test by starting in Safe Mode with Networking support and choose the built-in Administrator account rather than your normal account.

You can also test in Safe Mode with Networking support using your normal profile to see if there is a 3rd party conflict causing the problem rather than a damaged user profile.

Today I again had error message in Outlook when clicking on link to open in IE. Reloaded IE, no joy. Again had error message "This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

Prior suggestion was to run MS Fix-It to correct. That fixed it last time (some monthes ago) and did eleminate the error message today, but then when trying to open link again, I was prompted to select a program to open it with. I made IE my default browser and still won't open link. Everytime I ckick on a link in Outlook, it now opens a new IE window with the default page, not my link (which worked yesterday).

I'm at a loss.

A:Uninstalling Internet Explorer and Outlook Express

Internet Explorer is integrated into your OS and is supposed to be impossible to uninstall without damaging the OS.

There are some programs, like IEradicator, that claim to remove it, but I don't know if they are safe to use or even if they work. In any event, you will need IE to get to the Windows Update site and, perhaps, a few others you really want/need to use.

Because IE is part of your OS, it is vulnerable even when not in use, so what you need to do is turn off all the dangerous bits, like ActiveX and cross domain scripting, and transfer Windows Update and any other sites you must use to the Trusted Zone.

Details here;https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/ehowes/www/btw/ie/ie-opts.htm

I don't know anything about Outlook Express because I've never used it but, as far as I know, you can uninstall it, once you've arranged to copy over whatever you want to keep. A Google search on 'uninstalling OE' should provide more help.

A few days back, I was trying to download a movie online and I accidentally infected my computer (operating system - Windows XP Pro v. 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600) with two Trojan Horses. The antivirus detected and deleted them in no time. However, ever since then, I have not been able to access either Internet Explorer (7.0.5730.13) or Microsoft Outlook (2007 v.12.0). They both become unresponsive as soon as the window opens. As for Firefox, it wont even start anymore. I ran several scans (AVG Free, a-Squared Free, CCleaner, Spyware Doctor, Spybot S&D) both in normal and safe mode but none of them found any threat. I also tried to restore the computer to a prior restore point but it somehow failed (several times).

I have two problems which may or may not be related:-

1) When I go into Outlook Express the modem (its Broadband) does not automatically connect. This is remedied by going into My Computer & connecting via the Dial Up option. This then gets O.E. to receive any mail. How can I get this problem resolved?

2) The second problem is the more serious. Every time I try & launch Internet Explorer I get a pop up window that informs me that I.E. has to close. It offers to send me an error report which is long & full of what looks like hexi decimal code. Is there a simple way of correcting this?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Just check this first, in internet explorer, click tools, internet options, connection,
Make sure the "dial whenever a network connection is not present" box is not checked. Then highlight your default connection in the same box, properties, settings, security tab, and also make sure "connect automatically" is not checked.

It does the same thing while in Internet Explorer. When trying to scroll in that I am unable to scroll as it moves quickly to the bottom of the screen no matter how slow I try to go. I have smooth scrolling checked in the options box and this just started happening all of a sudden. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If the CD installation and signup process is interrupted, you may see the registration screen over and over when launching Internet Explorer or Outlook Express.

1. Right Button - Click on the Internet Explorer icon (the e on your desktop)
2. Click [Properties]
3. Click the [Connection] tab
4. Click [Setup]
The Internet Connection wizard will start
5. Click [Cancel]
You will be asked, 'Are you sure you want to close the wizard?'
6. Tick the option:[Do not display the Internet Connection wizard in the future]
7. Click [Yes]
