Nvidia Graphics Driver Unable To Find Compatible Graphics Ha...

Q: Nvidia Graphics Driver Unable To Find Compatible Graphics Ha...

Hello. Let me start by saying that I'm not all that knowledgable about graphic cards, graphic drivers, and my current issue. I bought this PC roughly 2 years ago and customized it, so it's i7-4700MQ 2.4GHz, 16GB DDR3, 1TB HDD, AND it's suppose to have 2Gb Nvidia GeForce GT 740M dedicated graphics. I just recently started getting into PC gaming (i.e. Steam; Rocket League, H1Z1, etc). I've only had seldom issues playing rocket league, but the problems arose to when I tried playing H1Z1. It was very slow and my fps weren't high either (even on low/medium setting). I started doing some research about why that would happen and it has to do with the graphics, so I tried checking out the graphics on my PC, but all I could find was the intel HD graphics info and control panel. I've read information that sometimes there could be two graphics in a PC so it either uses one or the other, but I can't seem to detect the nvidia hardware through the driver nor find any control panel. It says processor graphics in use is intel HD graphics 4600. I believe this laptop would've had the graphics incorporated with the motherboard or something so it would not be replaceable or removeable, but I don't seem to have it at all? My PC even has a little Nvidia GeForce sticker logo on it under where the intel inside core i7 sticker is next to the fingerprint reader. I currently have windows 10. Does anyone know what the issue is or was I just ripped by HP or something? What can I do now? EDIT: I would also like to add that sometimes my laptop screen would freeze and blank for a few seconds then a pop up message appears that my graphics stopped working or something and just restored then it's back to normal, this would happen sometimes often when doing extensive online games.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi, david_howdi, and welcome to the forums.

Have you tried getting the latest available driver from Acer's website? A lot of laptop GPU drivers are like that - you can only use the drivers from your machine's manufacturer.

I have a Nvidia 9500 GT wich works fine in XP. I upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit. The correct driver for the card is 280.26 according to the Nvidia site. The card is compatible with Win 7. However, when I attempt too install the card, it says "NVIDIA graphics driver not compatible with this version of Windows". The Nvidia utility also detects an error when it tries to detect the card.

I suspect there may be a chipset issue?

A:NVIDIA graphics driver not compatible with this version of Windows

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

You might want to check whether you downloaded the 64-bit version of the graphics driver instead of the 32-bit one. It's an easy mistake to make as I know only too well, having done it myself in the past.

As for your chipset drivers, it won't hurt to get the latest ones for the 32-bit version of Windows 7.

Hi, thanks for reading!

I have a Dell Studio 1555. It has a Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1). I've checked Dell's, Intels, and Microsoft sites for compatible drivers, to no avail. When I spoke to an Intel representative, they suggested I simply stuck with Windows 7. Is that my only option? I much prefer Windows 8. Thanks!

Unfortunately you won't find a driver from Dell (or anywhere for that matter) if Intel didn't make one.

A:HELP! SIMS2 CANT FIND DIRECTX 9.0c COMPATIBLE GRAPHICS ADAPTERS!

The Sims 2 has fairly high DirectX 9.0c requirements hence why so many people are confused. You need more than just DirectX 9.0c installed- you must also have a 3d card that supports the minimum levels of DirectX 9.0 acceleration/features used by the game.

The Sims2 absolutely requires:
- HW Acceleration
- HW T&L (Transform & Lighting)

If you have old, obsolete drivers for your 6200, this can cause it to misreport it's features. More likely though is the "TE" version of the card may be a stripped down version of the 6-series, stripping out T&L and other hardware requirements for the game.

Hit this link here:
http://www.srtest.com/referrer/srtest

Select "The Sims 2" and try both the minimum AND recommended. See what flags this test seems to feel you miss. From there, it may simply be you are unable to play it.. especially if you have updated your drivers from NVIDIA's website.

Okay, so the other day i downloaded windows xp SP2; and ever since i've been getting the error message: "Failed to find any directx 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system!" when i try to play the Sims 2.

The thing is, i've been told my computer isn't necesarily "fit" for the game. But it worked for over a year BEFORE i downloaded SP2. So i deleted SP2, to see if that would work, well; it did not.

I still get the error message.

When i go to the diagnostic tool, it says this on "Display": The system is using the generic video driver. Please install video driver provided by the hardware manufacturer.
To test DirectDraw functionality, click the "Test DirectDraw" button above.
Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer.

Before i downloaded SP2, again, i didn't have this "generic" thing; i had the real thing.

About the system:
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Compaq Presario 061
Processor: Intel (R) Celeron (R) CPU 2.53GHz, ~2.5GHz
Memory: 504MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

Can anyone..y'know..help? I'm about ready to pull my hair out.
Thanks, ahead of time.

A:Failed To Find Any Directx 9.0c compatible graphics adapter--

Reinstall the video drivers, remember to use driver cleaner pro first. Although you haven't told us which card you've got, but it's a Compaq so I'm guessing it's either intergrated or its a nvidia 5200. If its intergrated the drivers will be found on the CD with the motherboard/chipset/sound/network drivers. Although I'm not to sure Compaq gives you that CD.

Your video card, or video graphics driver has gone bad. It will likely require a replacement, but you might just try downloading the drivers to another machine then copying them over AFTER removing or disabling the old drivers. If the current driver does not work, go back to a previous driver.
Usually when the download fails, it is because the Mobility 9600 is bad... common among laptops used for a lot of gaming.
It may all hinge on whether your computer has a video graphics port that can be repaired or replaced. Otherwise, your computer has reached the end of its useful product life.

A:Graphics Driver Not Compatible With Vista

joshuam08 Welcome to the forums.

Hate to say it but your chances of finding a driver for that are slim to none. Here is what Intel has to say about that chipset,

Q3: Is Intel providing WDDM drivers for Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 (Intel GMA 900) on Intel 915 Express chipset-based platforms?
A3: Intel will provide support for WDDM drivers beginning with the Intel? 945 Express chipset family and beyond. See question 5 below for a detailed explanation of WDDM support on Intel? 915 Express chipset-based platforms. However, Windows Vista is supported on the Intel? 865G, 915G Express desktop chipsets and 852/855GM mobile chipsets running XPDM (XP Display Driver Model) driver included on the Windows Vista install media. Windows Vista will install on these platforms, but advanced features such as Windows Aero will not be enabled as XPDM drivers do not support Windows AERO

Graphics - Windows Vista* support frequently asked questions

Basically comes down to the only driver available for that chipset is the one that installs with Vista, as Intel will not be providing any. Also not sure what drivers you downloaded and installed from Dell as the only thing they list for that model are XP drivers,

Hi there, First time poster here , hope y'all are having a nice festive season ^^ I'm currently using the Lenovo Ideapad Z500 (Model Number 20202) which I bought over a year ago (so expired warranty). When I bought it, I was told that it would come with a NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 635M 1-2GB graphics card (or something similar) along with Intel 4000HD integrated graphics. However, I can see no trace of the card in the system apart from in the manuals provided. In Device Manager, only Intel 4000HD is present and there are no errors (apart from in the Bluetooth Audio). Dxdiag and programs like Speccy say I've only got that as well. I can't run the Nvidia compatibility scanner as it's not compatible with Win8 or 8.1 and attempting to install a Lenovo specific Nvidia driver comes up with an error saying I have no compatible hardware. I've tried going into the insydeH20 BIOS thingy but I have no idea how to get into the advanced settings to check display settings - I can't find the "Switchable Graphics" option either. Everything points to it not existing but Lenovo insists it's in there and working (which it clearly isn't as I can't even access the Nvidia control panel). Does anyone have any ideas as to how to check if it's actually present (without opening it up) and how to switch it to the Nvidia card if it is indeed in there somewhere? Many thanks!

Download, install and Run CPU HWMonitor, this utility will show you  the graphics adapter and its parameters.

You can also download and install GPU-z, it will show you all the GPUs which you currently have on your system.

Since it is switchable graphics, the adapter will not be displayed in dxdiag, however, it should be displayed under -

I've just installed Sims 2 on an older system that my grandpa gave me, but with a brand new monitor and I know nothing about graphics cards. I keep getting an error saying "Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system!"

Like many others I now have the chance to a free upgrade to Windows 10 (from the pre-installed Windows 7 Starter). Unfortunately, the laptop is loaded with a manufacturer customized graphics driver and I can not find a new version of Intel? Graphics Media Accelerator 3650 anywhere.

Is there anyone that can help me?

A:NB510 - graphics driver not compatible with Windows 10

Hi

I have NB520 and, as far as I know, our machines are not supported for Win10, not even for Win8/8.1. so I’m not sure that you will be able to find drivers for Win10.

By the way, how it works with Win10 in general? Have you noticed many problems and issues?

Hello,

After many many hours of searching forums for solutions I have been unable to find a solution to my problem - so I decided to open a topic of my own and hope someone can help me with my problem specifically.

My problem is similar to this topic, although the solutions posted there aren't working for me. In short: I have been experiencing random but frequent BSODs (16 and counting) with the message 'driver power state overload' being displayed.

In my quest for a solution I wanted to upgrade my drivers, when I noticed my Nvidia Geforce 650M graphics card seems to have disappeared. When I try to install the latest driver from Nvidia's website I get the error 'graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware'. Attempting to open the Nvidia control panel gives me the message 'An Nvidia graphics card was not detected on your system' and I cannot find the card listed in the device manager (only the intel HD graphics family is listed under display adapters)... To be clear: I'm quite sure my laptop SHOULD have this card, it's just not detecting it for some reason.

Since the symptoms of my problem are exactly the same as described in the topic linked above, I have tried to follow the solution described by Arc. Installed Driver Fusion, started in in safe mode and tried to delete Nvidia drivers - but nothing seemed to be listed here. I still clicked delete but not sure if this actually did something or not.

Hello Zephos.

As per the supplied data, this is the specification of your graphics.

Code:
Name Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
PNP Device ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0166&SUBSYS_21031043&REV_09\3&11583659&2&10
Adapter Type Intel(R) HD Graphics Family, Intel Corporation compatible
Adapter Description Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
Adapter RAM (2.080.374.784) bytes
Installed Drivers igdumd64.dll,igd10umd64.dll,igd10umd64.dll,igdumd32,igd10umd32,igd10umd32
Driver Version 9.17.10.2932
So, it says it is not nVidia. But as you are saying that it was Nvidia Geforce 650M, and it disappeared, the best option is to contract the vendor. I wish you are within warranty?

Hi, The Nvidia driver you see listed is not applicable to your particular notebook. HP tend to list all drivers for the same series of notebooks ( ie x360 m6 - w1xx ).  For example, the x360 m6-w105dx does have a Nvidia gpu. Regards, DP-K

I was checking to see if there was a newer driver version for my Geforce 9800 GTX, so I chose Option 2: Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products on the Nvidia website. It said there was a newer version so I clicked on Learn more and it said that it "Adds supports for GeForce 9800 GT and GeForce 9500 GT GPUs," but I checked in the products supported and my card is listed.

I get to the installion part and a warning pops up with: The software you are installing for this hardware: Nvidia Geforce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+ has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. Continuing your installion of this software may impair...blah blah blah.

My question is...should I go ahead and install it anyway?

A:Unable to locate NVIDIA graphics card

Have you tried re-seating the video card? It may have shaken loose during shipping, transit, etc if it wasn't secured in its slot completely.

If so, then you may have a dud video card or slot. Best buy has a 14 day return policy with no restocking fee. You might want to run there and pick up a similar video card and replace your existing one. If it works then you've solved the issue and can deal with it accordingly. Return the bad video card to the vendor if you purchased and installed it yourself. Or contact the vendor that sold you the computer and ask how they would like to remedy the situation such as replace/exchange it, send an on site tech to repair it, whatever.

When all is said and done, once your issue is resolved, don't forget to return the GPU you bought at best buy inside of the return policy or keep it if it is a better card than the one originally installed.

Hi All.

I am trying to install an NVIDIA graphics driver after having recently loaded Windows 7 on some old hardware.

Specifications:

Sony VAIO - VGN-FE17NP
Original OS - Windows XP Pro
New OS - Windows 7 Pro
512 MB RAM

I understand that the minimum system requirements for Windows 7 is 1GB of RAM however I thought I would give it a go and see what the performance is like with half of that, I guess half out of curiousity. I am wondering if simply upgrading the RAM may fix the issue perhaps but I will continue with my question
in the meantime.

The processor is capable being an Intel Centrino Duo at 1.83GHz.

I guess I could be cut short on my question here and told to upgrade the RAM which may well be the solution to my problem, however I will be swapping over the RAM from another old laptop very shortly (I am not at home at the moment) and was wondering if anyone could advise as to whether this would be the only issue I am facing here.

Here is an outline of what I have been trying to get both the original NVIDIA XP driver and a Windows 7 driver to function properly and the results I have come across......

Ran scan at NVIDIA HERE: NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Automatically Detect NVIDIA Products

Scan indicated that I am using the latest driver for GeForce Go 7400 graphics card and no update is
required but the Device Manager indicates that I am using the Standard Windows Graphics driver.

After doing a search here: Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

A:NVIDIA Graphics Driver BSOD

Hi Shelly1234.

You tried a lot. Very exhaustive lot. But, it is unfortunate that there is no driver available that NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 GPU (c:\windows\system32\drivers\nv4_mini.sys) that is compatible with windows 7.

Though nvidia says that your GPU is compatible with Windows 7. And as per them, the latest available driver version is 179.48 (Released on February 11 2009 whereas windows 7 released on October 22, 2009. I doubt the compatibility for this reason). It is unfortunate that you cannot install it.

Nothing else is left in nvidia's part to try.

But, as they say that the GPU is compatible, you may take a last chance. Make your installation driver complete itself, and let it obtain the appropriate driver itself.
Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
If the situation remains the same even after doing such a clean install, either not use windows 7 with that laptop (8 years old I guess?) or change the GPU to something newer.

Hello

I've had my Toshiba Satellite laptop that came installed with Windows 7 since April. Occasionally, there have been graphics driver crashes which always recover successfully. Usually when I view a film or the HD tv or something with lots of graphics/details. Supposedly something to with its Kernel or something...

My graphics driver is a: Nvidia GeForce GT 330M, and it's up to date according to the properties through the Device Manager. I'm not sure what to do. Is there possibly anything I can do to prevent the crashes? I don't want to have it crash and never return one day

I am fairly new to Vista and do not know much about the internal systems so I am a bit in the dark. Was using Windows movie maker and my system crashed without warning. Upon rebooting it did it twice more and the windows on screen are not displaying properly. The error message says.

This problem was caused by NVIDIA Graphics Driver, which was created by NVIDIA Corporation. There is no solution for this problem at this time.
A driver update, if available, might prevent this problem from recurring.

Upon searching in my browser there are several comments about NVIFIA drivers causing problems to the system and I am unsure what to do about the problem. I do not want my computer to keep crashing or cause further problems by installing updates...................Help!!!

The current version of iTunes (12.6.0.100) does not run (nothing happens when its executed, and it does not appear in Task Manager) with Intel HD Graphics 530 driver version 21.20.16.4590 (A09) installed. This is the version of the Intel driver currently on Dell’s Windows 10 driver download page for the XPS 15 9550, starting April 4, 2017.
When I install the previous version of the Intel driver, 20.19.15.4531 (A08), iTunes runs fine.
However, after just a few minutes the screen goes blank for a moment and the Intel driver is instantly updated to version 21.20.16.4590 (A09) again (perhaps by Windows Update?) breaking iTunes again. I went through this cycle twice before giving up.
It seems to me there is a bug in the latest Intel HD Graphics 530 driver that needs to be fixed ASAP.

A:iTunes on XPS 15 9550 not compatible with latest Intel HD Graphics 530 driver

There are other complaints about the new video driver as well such as causing BSOD reboots for a lot of people (me included.
To resolve the issue and keep Windows update from updating the driver:
Note: It's possible that you can skip some of the below steps and go right to the "Roll Back Driver" step but I have not tried that. I know that these steps work :-)
Go into Device Manager and locate the display driver.
Right-click it and chose to uninstall it. Make sure to check the box to uninstall the software as well.
Before you reboot, disable networking so that Windows Update cannot update the driver for now.
Reboot.
Install the previous driver (the A08 version from Dell).
Re-enable networking.
Note that Windows will still update the driver, but when it does, go back into device manager, right-click the display driver, chose properties, go to the driver tab, pick Roll Back Driver. Windows should no longer attempt to update the driver.

My research to date indicates that the integrated graphics card on my new T480 cannot be disabled, and that the graphics load will always be shared between the integrated graphics card and the NVIDIA MX150 card (no matter the global settings on the NVIDIA and Intel control panels).  Is this correct??? If so, this was a truly stupid design choice on the part of the Lenovo design team.  Who wants to buy an expensive graphics card only to discover that integrated graphics capability can not be turned off. On a recent internet delivered video, the loads on the two GPU's appeared about the same - the integrated graphics process was "stealing" about 15% of the CPU, while the MX150 was essentially idling at 15%. Does this make ANY sense???
