Demon ATX Computer Case

Q: Demon ATX Computer Case

I decided today to change my PC case, which I have done previously witout a hitch. However, today I bought a evil looking Demon ATX Computer Case and I can't figure out where to put the front panel wires. They are all marked oddly with "Data +1, Data -1, Gnd 1, VCC 1, etc. How do I know where they go? My motherboard book (GA-8IPE1000) does not make it very clear what I have to do to get anything to work. Any help would be appreciated. I have gone to Gigabytes homepage but really gleaned nothing there. I can't find a home page or manufacturer for the case. Thanks very much

Preferred Solution: Demon ATX Computer Case

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

If you saved the receipt, you can take it back and get an easier one. Or you might be able to ask the store where you bought it for help....

I'm sorry, there are so many problems on this computer I wasn't sure where to put the thread!
~~~~
Ok, so Ironically my warranty has expired on my ASUS F3JP series laptop.
This computer has a huge array of problems, so I'll start with the most important:
1) This computer has trouble running Photoshop. I bought it specifically for graphics programs (Being a gaming laptop I thought it would be capable) I did my final year of high school, hardly using Photoshop at all (But it worked all the same) and then as I finished high school and the warranty expired it stopped.
What happens:
I open Photoshop, it opens fine. I try to create a new file or open one and nothing happens. Sometimes if I'm lucky and I repetitively open a file it will open, but when I attempt to draw the line will delete itself. I have heard of Wireless adapters and Printers interfering with it, but that seems to not be the case. I have formatted twice and still no fix.
I thought this was just a general Photoshop problem, I installed the trial, a legit version of PS7, a cracked version of CS2 and CS3, and still nothing (Don't worry, I deleted all photoshop files in between installs)
Now Zbrush won't open, Corel Painter has trouble and Paintshop pro is also having problems. This computer hates me!
I also have other problems: My computer has never been able to drag and drop. I have installed the registry entries for it, checked my start panel options, upgraded mouse drivers, bough... Read more
I have a Dell Optiplex GX270. When I press the power button, the power button light turns amber, I hear some fans spinning, and the CD drive spinning. However, it never gets to the boot screen (or any screen). If I open the case and press the power button, however, the power button turns green and the computer works fine (loads all the way up and functions like normal). If I close the case after it has started, it continues to run fine. I'm guessing / hoping it's not the mother board or power supply that has directly gone bad... but maybe there is a connection or something? that changes from when it's closed to when it's open. I've heard of something like... the motherboard is shorting out by touching the case... but I'm not really sure where to look for that / how. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!
i removed the HDD and the motherboard and the CD-rom ..etc and installed them to a new case
but when i press the switch button it works normally , and the screen display normally and there are no beeps , but after like 20 second my computer turns off automatically ! ,
what may cause this issue ?
A:i replaced all of my computer components from my broken case to other case
could be overheating CPU. Did you apply fresh Thermal paste to the HSF after reinstalling the motherboard? Is it tight and secure? Did you blow out all the dirt, dust and debris from the fans' fins?
A:Z-Demon ? and HJT Log
Your log is fairly clean. I would run a virus scan as Z-Demon is a backdoor (RAT) trojan but has many varients...http://www.pestpatrol.com/pestinfo/z/z-demon.asp
I don't see any of it's files or processes running though in your log. Before attacking an adware/spyware problem with hijackthis make sure you have already run ad-aware SE with VX2 add-on cleaner, Spybot Search & Destroy (with updated database) and CWShredder as these programs will clean a lot of the crap out first. All links to programs are in my signature.
If you have a highspeed connection please Run an online virus scan from TrendMicro Please select the ?autoclean? option when prompted to do so. If this all fail to provide info..download TDS-3...http://tds.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=download and have it do a full system scan.
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but here it goes...
I gave my friend one of my PCs as it was a good sterdy, reliable machine and he couldn't afford to buy a new one.
However, the PC is a Packard Bell and has two 40GB HDD, 256 RAM, 1.4 gHz Processor, 4x DVD-RW Drive and a 32x CD-ROM drive. The CD-ROM drive has had a few problems in the past, so I offered to buy a CD-RW drive for him and fit it. Here come the problems...
I fitted the drive and it was mis-reading discs, and not booting from the disc (for things like CD-ROM games). It also wouldn't burn CDs.
So I said that I would remove it and try to get a refund from where I bought it from and after removing the Disc drive, the PC will no longer boot. I have checked the cabling and I get the logo screen (Packard Bell), followed by the boot screen which allows me to press Esc and return to the logo screen...the following message is displayed 'Primary Master capable but disabled'.
Can anyone shed any light?
Thanks
A:CD-RW Demon
It sounds like you confused your BIOS. Did you check for proper jumper configurations when you installed that new CD drive?
You're going to have to enter your BIOS configuration. There should be a message telling you how to "Enter Setup" -- it's usually F1, Del, or something similar. Once you're into the BIOS setup, you're going to have to find settings regarding boot devices, and the device order in which the BIOS will find boot devices. Once you figure out how to navigate the settings, this shouldn't be difficult.
The message "Primary Master capable but disabled" sounds like there are also IDE channels that are set to "Disabled" in the BIOS. See if you can select the IDE devices individually and make sure they are set to "Enabled" or "Auto."
Be careful not to change settings that you're not 100% sure about.
Two questions about BHO Demon.
Do I need to have it running in the system tray to be active are is it like SpywareBlaster?
Are there updates like some of the other similiar products?
PS-I tried it in the sytem tray and found out if you click on it to activate the program and then click to close the demon window it removes it from the system tray. If I just minimize it it stays in the tray. What to do?
A:BHO Demon
It needs to be running to protect you, what I do is put a short cut to it in my start up folder so it starts with windoze and minimize it to the tray and leave it running all the time
Here is the download site. Seems like a lot of changes:
Here's what's new in version 2.0.0.19 (09/02/2004) (MD5: C6B6BB9B4D823F88F96CF92CD759CFA4):
o Many changes were made to support Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2 ).
- Although Internet Explorer now has a feature that allows you to disable BHOs, we recommend that you do not use it. Malicious BHOs can very easily circumvent this new feature and re-enable themselves. When you disable BHOs using BHODemon, however, it is done in such a way that BHOs cannot circumvent it.
- If you decide to use Internet Explorer's new feature anyway, BHODemon integrates with it fully: when you enable or disable a BHO in Internet Explorer, BHODemon immediately reflects the BHOs new state.
- In the 'Details' dialog for each BHO, three new pieces of information are displayed:
Load Attempts - How many times this BHO has attempted to load
Blocked Load Attempts - How many times this BHO has not loaded
Last Load Time - The last date/time this BHO attempted to load (successfully or not)
o Some Windows 98 users were unable to 'hook the Registry' when starting BHODemon.
o To allow multiple users to run BHODemon from a network share, the logfile name now contains the user's machine name.
o The 'Settings' dialog has a new button called 'BHO List Statistics'. This display interesting information gleaned from the BHO List:
Total number of user reports - How many BHOs have been reported by ... Read more
This is a new trick on me, as well as a sneaky way to get you to open the mail.
I use mailwasher pro, so none of these have gotten to us. Norton finds them on the bounce. I just wonder if I am really bouncing the virus back to the sender?
i'm new to internet use & so far only check emails, look up items i might want to buy. All of a sudden i started to have to reset my email pswds every day & if i went into email more than once a day, would have to reset multiple times.
got a phone number for yahoo & phone rep told me that a hacker in columbia was tracking my internet activity & that no matter how often i changed my pswd, the hacker would be able to get it immediately. Yahoo rep transferred me to another dept & at some point i agreed to let this new rep get onto my chromebook, but i noticed it said reddit in the address line.
this reddit rep said that not only was a hacker in columbia tracking me, but that there were several hackers tracking me & while "fixing" my cpu a photo supposedly from Interpol showed a man & name in columbia, no less & then said i needed a firewall & couple of other things (chromebook is supposed to have inet security built-in) then proceeded to ask for between 199.99 to 599.99. i think this is a squeeze-play scam. i've filed a complaint with our dept of agriculture consumer trade & protection & written a complaint to Yahoo. how do i get these demons out of my cpu?
Hello notfried.
I suggest you do this:
You need to update your version of HijackThis.
Delete the HijackThis you have now.
Download HijackThis from link in my signature. Save it to a permanent folder (I create a new folder in C:\ named HJT). Open and hit scan, then save log. Once it is saved it will open in notepad. Select all from the edit button, copy and paste the results here. Don't fix anything with it yet! Someone experienced with the logs will advise you.
Hi everyone,
I have a question. I have a virus of some sort that moves my cursor around the screen, and randomly right clicks on it's own. I have checked and it does not appear to be a keyboard or mouse problem. It moves the cursor about, right clicks and open things sometime too. It also opens an icon that looks like a compass rose under the pointer and scrolls the screen. "The processor seems to be always running no matter what the program activity. It also highlights blocks of text which then disappear upon the next keystroke. I have run AVG, spybot s and d and seem to get a lots of reports of "important registry changes", which I deny unless I have an idea of why they are occurring. Finally it also opens a page information window but mostly it opens the right click window. I had a this problem before, but found the solution online and deleted it. Now I am lost for solutions...PLEASE help me before I lose my mind retyping, and relocating cursor every few seconds.
thanks in advance....
Does anyone here know how uninstall AOL off of Win 10? It's not my machine, and I've never touched it with a 39 1/2 ft pole, but a friend of mine made the fatal mistake years ago. Now, they upgraded to Win 10, as opposed to a clean install, which is what I would have advised, but they didn't listen. It is beyond me why the idiots that developed that "virus" weren't held legally liable for not even providing an UNinstall module. Anyhoo, anyone here have any suggestions of wisdom on how to solve this riddle?
BTW, the AOL version is 6.9.2 I think.
Thanks.
I use the Google search extensively. (Windows XP Prof, pop-up ad blocker, anti-virus, personal firewall). My web browsing began being interrupted by www.flashlightsearch.com looking for items I had done a Google search on days ago. I promptly went to the quoted site and found an 'uninstall' button. Clicked on the button and went on my way. Well, it's back.
I again went to the web site and am informed that I am not authorized for access. It breaks into my web activity indicating it is searching for whatever. Hangs up the system, eventually gives a Run Time error. Efforts to close this window always wind up with an End Program message. The popup add blocker has no effect on this program.
How can I kill it? Suggestions appreciated.
Download CWShredder:
http://www.merijn.org/files/cwshredder.zip
Unzip, run and hit the ->fix tab to fix all found problems
CWShredder takes advantage of seurity holes in windows so you should install all critical as well as hotfixes available from windows update.
Then repost a fresh Hijack this log .
Download 'Hijack This!'. http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ and save it to a folder on your desktop.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log, load it in Notepad, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.
Delsim dialer is entrenched in my computer. Every time I delete the files and registry keys, they come back. I have Trend Micro Internet Security 2007, but it needs an update to detect delsim, and I cannot connect to the internet for any length of time before delsim pops up and disconnects me. is there any way I can permanently manually delete this dialer? A:Hijack Log for Adshooter Demon
Welcome to TSF.
Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.
Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that Display the contents of System Folders' is checked. Windows XP's search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that Search system folders, Search hidden files and folders, and Search subfolders are checked.
For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).
Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer. After we are finished with your log file and verified that it's clean, you may turn it back on and create a new restore point.
My office is running Windows 2000. The employee who used to work on my computer has somehow made it so that after I log in, a picture of her boy pops up briefly before the background is applied to the desktop. This also happens briefly upon logout or shutdown.
I've been into Regedit and played with the Wallpaper, Tiling and Style settings. I've directed the Wallpaper source straight to a bitmap of my own choosing, but that just displays THAT picture behind the initial login prompt. After I actually login, that picture disappears, the Boy's picture pops up as usual, and then the background image takes over. Logging out is the same.
Does anybody know where this picture can be found and how to eliminate it?
Thank you very much, you guys.
Arlen
A:Picture of Demon Child Popping Up
Since an employee put the image on the computer chances are that it is either in a JPE, JPG or JPEG format. Why not try a search for each of these formats until you locate the source of the picture and delete it at the source.
heyo,
i have had some problems for quite some time a cd burner, finally getting around to asking for help.. running windows xp on a pentium, and the burner itself is an HP speed writer, but windows reads it as samsung on device manager and doesn't accept anything else. The problem is actually in the burning/reading side of the drive. It will start spinning like it is going to read, but then it goes, and bare with me, bbaaarrrrroooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmm........
real loud, compared to standard spinning.
this makes it impossible to read or transfer files from a cd, since it does it about 8 seconds into spinning, sometimes more, sometimes less, but every time.
when burning, using nero, or vista, or even roxio (tried everything) it will power down and either leave the rest of the disk scratchy or give me a new coaster for a bottle of dr. pepper.
any ideas? is there a hinge loose or something i could oil?
thanks,
rabb
A:demon cd burner from plant spaceball
I wouldn't go oiling or undoing your computer, but my HP cd burner makes noises and runs like that too. It will spin and seem like it spins forever but it works, so i'm not quite sure about that. Try a different writing speed and try Disk at Once data burn at like an ok speed to see whats up. give it time and hope nothing bad happens. If it constantly vrooms i just think its an HP defect but the HP drives are i think Samsung. Don't like the fact they do that but if they do once the burn is done and closed i usually take the disk out. or if it is vrooming and not burning, but u are not even using the drive i usually open it and take disk out. I don't know why it does that but i don't like it... again.
Hello,
I'm attempting to fix a laptop computer for a friend. So far, this thing has not responded to conventional warfare, and I'm running out of options. The laptop was treated rather poorly (browsing habbits, not physical damage) and I assume that this thing has run through the internets briar patch with velcro on it's nether regions, picking up god knows what sorts of horrible things.
First off, the software has set the user without administrator level privilages, which restricts me from making changes to the registry, which means installation of new programs is almost impossible, and manual removal of viruses is impossible. I cannot do a system restore, nor can I alter or edit the default account. When checking the list of users, only the default user pops up. (Who is the administrator then??)
The laptop does not have any virus removal tools allready installed, though it does have some anti-spyware which popped up with some low-level trojans and cookies, none of which are responsible for this behavior. In response, I used Pandascan free online scanner, and found these viruses, some of which are pretty critical:
Trj/Downloader.MDW
Mirar
Qhost.gen
Virtumonde
Antivirus2008
I do not (and nor does the laptop owner) have the original Compaq software discs that came with the laptop. I'm aware that compaq models have partitions on the harddrive which hold the BIOS (if I'm not mistaken) so I assume that might be the reason, that when I pop in a ... Read more
But I can't Uninstall the Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller. I looked EVERY WHERE in BIOS and the only option for Graphics is under Integrated Utilities (might not be the exact name) and it has an option called Graphics Controller. The only options for Graphics Controller are Auto and Onboard. Auto allows my Graphics Card to run, but Intel is still allowed to run.
In system > hardware > I uninstalled the the graphics card. I then uninstalled the drivers in add/remove programs. I then shut down and installed my graphics card. I booted up and the Graphics card was found, but Intel re-installed itself. I get a message saying "New Hardware Found" and it automatically re-installs it. I figure the NVIDIA drivers will fix this problem, so I install the drivers and my graphic card is running fine.
BUT INTEL WONT GO AWAY!
When I disable it under hardware, it somehow still manages to run. Everytime I remove it, it re-installs installs itself. All my ga... Read more
I have recently set up a web server (windows 2003 with wamp installed) on a demon internet business broadband connection.
However I am having trouble whereby i seem to lose internet connectivity when the line is inactive (Eg when noone is using the internet onsite it seems to go offline - and this i cant connect to the server remotely and noone can access the website (jastac.co.uk)).
The reson i beleive it to be the connection and not the server is that last night i set the router to accept ping on icmp or whatever it is and this morning i cant ping the wan ip (80.177.111.63) whereas last night i could.
Has anyone experienced this problem or does anyone have any suggestions?
A:Problems with web server running on demon internet
Ehm.. What do you do to get the connection back? Maybe your router is crashing or the modem is crashing or your ISP is dropping the connection when idle (you have to tell your router to auto-connect) or your ISPis changing your IP address..
I think a similar problem was discussed in two other previous posts:
Hi! Hope that subject got your attention.
Anyway, my printer, the Lexmark x4875 has been giving me trouble for ages. Usually it will say it has begun printing about 6% of the document but it will freeze at 6% and the printer won't do anything. Before when this has happened I'll just delete the printer from my Printers menu and re-install it. It will work again for a while and then it does the aforementioned again.
However, this time when it froze and such I Googled the problem and the person on the forum suggested I go to Printers > Lexmark 4800 Series > Properties > Advanced > Print Processor and change the default data type to NT EMF 1.008. The printer continued to freeze but then I went to Printers > Lexmark 4800 Series > Properties > General and printed a test page. This worked and then I was able to print things. However, now whenever I print things it will do two extremely weird things:
1. It will print the first page it is supposed to print (in one-page documents, the entire document, and in documents greater than one page, the last page) and then print a completely blank page over that.
Then,
2. It will print the pages completely out of order. I just printed an 11-page document to test this theory and they were printed in this order: 11, blank page, 9, 10, 7, 8, 5, 6, 3, 4, 1, 2.
Help! Should I call an exorcist?
A:Wireless printer acting like it is posessed by a demon
I have experienced this as well with my wireless printer. I have concluded it must happen either when I get wireless interference, my computer sleeps, or there is always the unknown of a conflicting software. If it is wireless interference go through the normal procedures such as changing tour channel either to the lowest or the highest channel. For the sleeping, just change those energy settings.
It is an old discontinued model but try finding any updated drivers that may get rid of the random weirdness.
BTW: Multifunction devices are always more complicated hardware and are more prone to problems than devices that do one job. For example, when a problem does happen it becomes difficult to pinpoint the issue and the issue can be linked to many other things. Fixing one issue can be fixing an issue for another item which never needed fixing
Sunday I was running my standard weekly virus scan with F-Secure when it froze at 48%. Odd, so after being frozen at that for 30 minutes, I cancelled and ran it again, left the PC for several hours and came back, froze again at 48%. So I decided to cancel the scan a second time and went to MS Internet Security web page and downloaded their program to see if that would complete the scan. Turned off FS and began to install MS when the computer crashed.
On restart PC would not connect to internet. The internet connect worked, it said that it had internet connectivity, but nothing would connect. Check settings and everything was correct on TCP/IC v 6 and v4. but would not connect. At this point I figured I had a virus. Ran Malwarebytes and it found 14 items. I had it clean them, but still no connectivity.
Tried safe mode with network, no internet.
Downloaded (on a second computer) Kaspersky and created a rescue disk. Rebooted and tried to boot to DVD. PC bypassed the media and went straight to windows. Rebooted again and tried to enter CMOS to make boot to DVD first option, but the F2 hotkey would not access the BIOS.
Ran rkill. It stopped two processes, but did not restore internet access. It did however, allow me to enter BIOS when I rebooted again. Ran a full virus scan with Kas but it didn't find anything. (The Kaspersky graphical interface was able to browse the web however.)
So, do I have a virus? Did I have a virus that  was removed,... Read more
