ibuypower Valkyrie CZ 27 boot hang

Q: ibuypower Valkyrie CZ 27 boot hang

What seems to be wrong us that the UEFI can't seem to detect the harddrives when determining boot order? That's my best guess. I really have no idea. If I load Bootable media, such as my installation drive, it detects it just fine and all my components are fine and I'm able to format and install as I please.
However, I'm unable to access the UEFI configuration, as the pc just stops.
Twice in the past few days it's been able to work itself out and boot as normal, so I know it's not a harddrive issue, but it's extremely rare.
I formatted and installed a fresh windows on a secondary drive to see if that would help to both avail.
I have a video showing what happens, but I can't upload it

Preferred Solution: ibuypower Valkyrie CZ 27 boot hang

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Post a link to the video.
You can upload the video to a free file hosting service (I suggest One Drive).

Now on WIN7 64bit, MS Office 2010 (S4S), MB ASUS P8P67 Pro Rev 3.1.

I am getting a message that there is a problem:

1. 'Atheros Valkyrie Boot Rom' is not working properly, compatible driver not available for this version of windows. Atheros Bluetooth Device.

2. 'Creative Game Port' is not working properly, compatible driver not available for this version of windows.

Not too bothered about 2 at the moment.

In Device Manager there is an Other Devices-Unknown Device with a yellow warning symbol. This unknown device has no driver and in Details shows;
Hardware ID

A google search seems to indicate the above problem relates to an Atheros driver and concerns internet access according to a post on this forum.

I do not want to mess things up but if there is a problem would like to get it fixed.
Windows cannot update the driver as there is nothing to update!

Can anyone suggest a solution to this? The majority of links all seem to want a license fee of around ?20 to update my drivers which is a bit rich for me at the moment. One I tried said I needed quite a few but all manual checks seemed to return all those noted as out of date were in fact current.

As the unknown device is unknown and has no driver can I delete it and let Windows find it on reboot and hopefully reinstall with the right drivers?

hello there,

I have got a strange problem since i run seven 64 bit Rc ( didn't tried older version nor Rtm ). I think a got the same Pb with Vista 64 bits, but a it was more random.

When i start my computer from scratch, it boots and when i got the 4 colors of the windows logo that go together, it hangs.
then i reboot the comp , i got the message to run the troobleshooter or start windows manually.
I choose the second option, it boots normaly.

I dont have this problem if i put on standby , it wake up OK.
If i boot With F8 , in safe mode , the computer hang on the ClassPNP.sys.
So googled a bit, it seems to be a trouble caused by windows having pb with handling APIC or AHCI.

I dont know what to change .... moreover i dont use the integrated SATA. i use a 3 ware raid card ( see my profil ) . So ACHI is not pb ?

Some one has already got this bug ?

ps : sorry for grammar.

Hello. I'm new to this Forums and I'm in need of some help.

I have an on-going error message. This is the message.

"Your Atheros Valkyrie BootROM isn't working properly because a compatible driver is not available for this version of Windows."

First question: What is the BootROM?
Second question: I'm running Windows 7 64bit...how do I get the compatible driver, or, do I need it?

A:Atheros Valkyrie BootRom

Did you just recently reset your BIOS to defaults? It sounds like the "Boot from network" or "Boot from Lan" BIOS option got turned on. The BootROM is a chip that is added to the motherboard that has the firmware/code to allow this type of operation. Disable it in the BIOS and the error message should go away.

Just got a new Valkyrie CZ-15 from the site ibuypower and so far I've tried playing ACE Online, Maplestory, Chivalry Medieval Warfare, ORION Dino Horde, and Company of Heroes 2. I can't even start up Maplestory and CoH 2, and the frame rate is terrible on ACE Online when enemies group together on screen. Bad framerate on ORION and Chivalry as well. I tried running Runescape and that ran fine, along with Minecraft. What can I do to fix this? I've already tried updating the Intel and NVIDIA graphics driver.

Here are the problems I'm noticing: Maplestory only loads up until the Black Cipher thing, then crashes and requests to send an error report, CoH 2 is unable to create a dump file (error 183) and also requests to send an error report. After troubleshooting Maplestory's compatibility with Windows XP (SP3), Windows 7, and Windows Vista (SP2) all of them come up as Maplestory still being incompatible with my laptop. Would downgrading to Windows 7 fix this or is my laptop just not meant for this? Are the specs not enough? I'd even be willing to downgrade to Windows XP if it would solve this.

Please help.

I've been trying to do this upgrade/install now for about 80 hours or more and have gotten nowhere. Initially, I set out to fix my Win 7 Home Premium system because it started behaving very weirdly. ALL of the network printers disappeared, including the icons. Investigated and found the spoolsv.exe print cannot continue running more than a few seconds.

At first I suspected some sort of virus, but I've tried Norton, Kaspersky, and AVG and they find nothing.

I keep getting a message window that pops up and claims that the copy of Windows is not genuine. It is. I spent a few hours on the phone with a Microsoft rep and after trying to sell me 12 months of support for $149.00 (or one month for $99.00), he gave up and tried to actually look at the system. It was half-hearted. He installed Hitman, looked around for a while, deleted a few insignificant things, then told me everything should be fine. Of course, nothing changed. I had already done far more than he had and knew it wouldn't help.

Anyway, the system is an Intel motherboard and uses a TP-Link wireless (Atheros chip AR9271). I've given up on trying to figure out how to fix the corrupt files and just figured I'd do the upgrade, such as shown in this thread.

When I start the upgrade and get to the part:

Upgrading Windows will affect the following devices and/or programs: *

Update Realtek HD Audio codec driver from their website:

Please attach a screenshot of CPU-Z first tab, one of memory tab and one each for each stick of RAM of SPD tab - along with newest crash dumps - if necessary after completing the above. (Or perhaps Avast removal is the trick instead.)

A:iBuypower and other non-namebrand computers

They're most often made from quite much better quality parts than Dell, etc as they don't get exclusively extra cheap motherboards and other parts like the big brand companies. They do sometimes use lower quality power supplies though, quite a feat considering what the factory built boxes have. I wouldn't recommend getting any of them without modifying it yourself and selecting a quality power supply for it, or replacing it yourself to save a few dozen dollars, as well as getting a longer warranty for the PSU.

Hey all, new to the forums and in pretty serious need of some help. I bought an IBUYPOWER prebuilt gaming rig last... April I think, and its been working great for me. Recently however ( the last month or so), the sound keeps going out. It went out for about a week before randomly coming back (nothing I did), and now its been gone for about 2-3 weeks. The sound icon down by the clock shows a red x and says that no speakers are plugged in. I've tried a bunch of things to try and get my audio back on, but no luck. I'm not sure what I would need to provide here for anybody to help me, or what I SHOULDNT post for security reasons, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some important notes
*I have Windows 7
*I have two jacks for my speakers, one in the back where you would typically expect to find one, but also an additional one in the front panel. Neither one apparently works, leading me to believe its a driver issue.
*Gosh idk what else to put down! any help would be greatly appreciated, I used to think I was capable with computers but this seems to be beyond me

I've re-installed Windows XP from a recovery partition and customized it (apps etc - nothing that's not worked before). This is now my third recent attempt at a clean reinstall.
It now takes a LONG time to boot and so far hasn't been able to finish booting. As far as I know the recovery partition is fine and I have no problem booting during the first day to install updates, apps and uninstalling uneeded programs.
The system is an eeepc (1005HA) and I've never experienced a problem like this before.

Can anyone help?

A:Hang during boot

so, the first day no problem booting, then you install apps. What apps are you installing? What av and firewall are you using. Can I ask why you reinstalled from recovery in the first place, were you having problems? Have you tried to boot in safe mode. If this works you may wish to try a clean boot, How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7, then see if you can boot in to your normal account. (Until you said you could boot the first day after reinstall I was going to suggest you get a diagnostic program for the hard drive, which is why I asked why you reinstalled in the first place).
If you could get back to us with more info that would be helpful.

Hi All.
I'm at work at the moment so all information isn't as good as I wish I could give.

A few days ago my computer kept
-restarting itself after about 10minutes of being on
-restarting itself when I opened Blender or another 3d animating program. I did some research and saw that spyware could be involved so I did a scan and it removed most of the infections.

Then when I restarted, my XP boot screen decided to just hang..on a continuous loop and when I entered safe mode, just before the blue welcome screen would come up, an error message appeared (afraid I can't remember what the message was) and my keyboard and mouse wasn't responding (even when unplugging and plugging back in).

So did some more research which most said to re-copy some of the system files. So I used my trusty UBCD4WIN and restored most of the esential system files.

I restart, still hangs on boot.

Back to UBCD4WIN, I try a registry restore (Had 4 points in the past week) so I tried a few different ones to no luck :( still hanging at boot.

Then attempted safe mode which worked BUT I noticed that when Mup.sys was loading, it took considerably longer than usual and my mouse and keyboard wouldnt register on log-in unless I unplugged and plugged back in.

After some more googling, back to UBCD4WIN. chkdsk /r time.
Took ages but finally done.

Restart, still hanging on boot.
Safe Mode worked perfectly, no long wait on mup.sys and i'm able to enter safe mode without any connection troubles (keyb... Read more

Does anyone know what kind of card this laptop would have or know of some way I could get the model number?

I believe it uses an Intel 945PM chipset.

If so it probably uses an Intel NIC. You can download the chipset drivers from here: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=N&ProductID=816&DwnldID=12150&strOSs=45&OSFullName=Windows*%20XP%20Home%20Edition&lang=eng
And the NIC drivers from here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/scr...&OSFullName=Windows* XP Home Edition&lang=eng

Hi Jage_B. Try an application like Everest. It should be able to tell you who the manufacturer is of all of the hardware components in the system. Whether or not drivers are available is another question lol. Here's a link for Everest: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System...e-Edition.shtmlCheers.OT

Hey everyone,
I have a 2 year old laptop and two weeks ago it stopped charging. So I took it to a repair shop that fixed it and then this week it stops charging. My wife and I noticed a funny smell the past few days. I am short on cash so we i opened my laptop up and took my motherboard out. It is dark brown all around the dc jack and there are melted parts that dripped down.
Can anyone tell me what should be my next step? Can I fix this? Or is it not possible?
I have some pics attached.

Sony Vaio desktop, 2005, has boot hang-up, and after slowly going
through the obvious, my question is if there is something I'm missing?

Boot stops at manufacturer's and Pentium 4 logo after making one beep and message "Input 2: HP15. No drives recognized, so nothing with recovery disks. No keyboard shortcut to Bios. I've attempted:

1) replace power supply,
2) reseat memory chip after rest,
3) reseated RAM sticks and MB plug,
4) removed exterior plugs, was able to transfer some files from the HD to another computer.

Any suggestions for me at this point? I don't know what else to look
at except CPU/fan and the MB. Can always freeze and retry my HD, I guess. bookburn

Hi, and welcome to TSF.

The only information I can find about this code makes me think its being generated by your monitor. Did you see a message saying " Out of scan range"?

Do you have another monitor you can try?

Hello, I am completely new to this forum, i am just trying to get this problem figured out.

So one day my computer just up and quits in the middle of a video game. When i reboot it, it takes me to the options screen that has safe mode, last known config, etc. So it would not allow me to select any of those. This is a gaming computer so I was just going to reinstall windows because I had no important data.

I go to reinstall windows by booting from the cd. All is going well, I am at the windows blue setup screen and at the bottom it says, "Setup is loading files (....)". Then when "Setup is loading files (Windows NT File System (NTFS))" it restarts the computer completely.

I had a new harddrive waiting to be installed anyway, so I was hoping this would solve the problem. Its a Western Digital Raptor, but sure enough, as I start to install windows for the first time on the drive, it stops on the same exact screen.

I have no idea what the problem is, BIOS recognized the new drive and all. Any suggestions?

A:Windows XP CD boot hang up

Sounds like it is overheating. Make sure Processor Fan is spinning when it starts up. Blow all dust out of other fans. Run Memtest on RAM chips. Try a different CD.

Hey all, I asked a similar question a few days ago in regards to my mup.sys hang and inability to boot windows, when i try normal i get the options screen where nothing works and if I try safe mode I get the mup.sys hang, after any of those there is a quick blue screen (splash?) and then it reboots. Well I am pretty sure this is software related just because this all started after I got a virus called iehelper and used malware and ccleaner to take care of it but I got paranoid and ran each 3-4 times and I believe I accidently deleted some important files they saw as corrupted but are needed to keep the computer running functionally. Anyways I am running Windows XP Home Media addition and alas I cannot find my installation/repair cd that came with the computer but I have a few other options that might work

a) my friend has XP pro install and repair cd and we tried it out but he said "the windows partition" was not showing up at the options and only the MiniNT and the I386 (??), is there anything I can do with this

b) he also has the ultimate boot cd and he said he couldnt figure it out using that but seeing if anyone out there has used this cd to fix a problem like mine..
