B50-30 AIO Input switch issue that will not switch

Q: B50-30 AIO Input switch issue that will not switch

Hi, i have a AIO B50-30 and I'm trying to connect via the hdmi input socket my TV satellite box. I have found out recently that there is a switch on the side of the unit that will allow you to switch to the input channels so allowing viewing of the box and other like units Xbox etc. My issue is that I'm pressing the switch but nothing is happening it's simply staying on my desktop on Windows 10. Can anyone please help to see if I'm doing this right or am I missing something ?. Any help, suggestions would be gratefully received since there is very little on the subject in connection with this particular model .thanks in advance.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:AIO 700 - Switch to HDMI input

hi Malant,
Welcome to the Forums.
After connecting an HDMI input device (e.g., PS3, Blu-ray player) at the back of the machine, try to press the PC mode/HDMI-in button on the right side of the machine and observe.

I recently upgraded to windows 8 (after all updates now it is 8.1).
Up until yesterday I only used it with one user account.
Yesterday I added another account, and for some reason instead of having both input languages It only had English.
I added the second language successfully and the language bar appeared as expected.
However, after a restart the language bar disappeared, as well as the ability to use "alt-shift" to switch languages.
When I look at the settings the both languages are there, and the "Use language bar when possible (or something to that effect)" is checked. Also, the language bar is set to be docked (I tried float - didn't do any good) and the shortcut is set
for "Alt Shift". But, no language bar is shown and the input language can not be changes.
A weird thing is that when I look at the shortcuts list I have "switch language --> Alt-Shift", "Hebrew --> (none)". No entry for English.
Just to make it clear - in order to write this question in English I had to use my other account.
Thank you very much,

A:Can't switch input language

Please run ?ctfmon.exe?, does the language appear again?
And  follow the instruction below to force the exe to run each time you start windows.
Open registry, locate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
Create a new string value,
specify the name "CTFMon".
Type ?ctfmon?=?CTFMON.EXE? in Value data field, OK.
Restart your computer.

Hope someone can help.

I have difficulty physically reaching my monitor due to disability. I need to switch my video inputs on my Samsung P2450 (Samsung util software does not do the job) as I use the (Windows) PC/monitor to set other hardware i.e. Apple TV & cubox i4, and need to switch from digital > HDMI and back.
I used to use mControl by EnTech but they no longer exist and the software needs a new licence.

Any help will be gratefully appreciated - I'm very low tech and have noticed something called command line/Auto HotKey input apps. These are above my tech level so keep it simple please.

About a year ago, the newest monitor for our home's main computer stopped functioning, so it had stopped being used. However, today I was in search of some files I needed that were on our old main computer, so I hooked up the old monitor that came with that computer and it didn't work as well. (The old monitor worked on a different computer). I tried hooking up a few other spare monitors to the old computer, but it they also did not work either. I came to the conclusion that the monitor input had crashed.

So, here's my question: Is it possible to use a KVM switch to display the old computers monitor display on my laptop to get access to my files, even without the old computer's monitor input functioning?

We are living in a hostel which provides two LAN ports per room, whereas four people live in one, and all of us have PCs. So we decided to divide the ports using an 8 port switch, by routing both the inputs into the switch and then taking four outputs. The switch is manufactured by FRONTECH.
Problem: When we connect both inputs, the whole internet and LAN connections conks off, and the notification icon shows "Local only", but even local PCs don't show up on our network. The disconnection from internet doesn't happen just in our room, but in all the rooms which are connected to the same router to which we are linked.
In the user manual of the switch, it says, "The Switch is Plug-and-Play and each port can be used as general ports of Uplink ports and can be simply plugged into a server, a hub or a switch, using straight cable or crossover cable." Oh, and all the cables are straight.
Is there any way to overcome this? And what is the source of the problem? Also, is there any way to use 2 inputs for the switch?

So i am re-posting in hopes that someone will be able to see this question and respond.   My HDMI Input does not respond when i press the button on the bottom of my PC. I've read everywhere on solutions to fix this problem of my game mode not working (HDMI Input) for my computer, HP Envy 23-k001a. I reset my PC to factory settings just an hour ago, and the problem still persists. I have contacted HP support but they have only told me to re-install and upgrade my drivers, which i attempted prior to the reset and it still did not solve the issue. I really don't know what to do as I want to play PS4 on my computer.  Any help would be much appreciated, Many Thanks!

Need to no if I have this right

they have a dsl modem going to a Linksys router to a 24 port switch then to a little 4 port switch. sure, so then Would it be modem to router then router to any port on the big switch or is there an uplink port on the big switch it should go to? then you would hook a cat5e from one of the regular ports on the 24 port switch and run it to the uplink port on the 4 port switch need to no if the whole sequence is right. Hope someone can help, john will told me the cable would go from the big switch to the uplink on the small switch but I am wondering if I have it all right or not and wonderiing about from the router to the 24 port switch does the cable just go in a regular port in the big switch or if there is an uplink port does it go there. Hope you can understand my rambleing here. Thanks (please don't send me to a link) just need to no modem to router to regular port or uplink port on 24 port switch then from regular port on 24 port switch to uplink port on the 4 port switch. Thanks

A:Solved: Windows xp hookup question for modem, router, switch, to switch?

Router to uplink port on 24 port switch, and then normal port on the 24 port switch to uplink port on the second 4 port switch. An auto-MDX port on a device negates the need to worry about uplink ports for that particular cable connection.

I have Windows 7 Professional on my PC. In the first load I had, the PC should automatically detect if the LAN cable was plugged in, turn off the wireless radio, and change the network icon in the right bottom corner to reflect the cable was now in use.
Unfortunately, I had to reload my PC, and since then I can't get it to do it again.
So, what I'd like to achieve is this: Have Windows automatically detect when the cable is plugged in, turn of the wireless radio, and change the network icon in the right bottom corner to reflect the cable is in use - and, obviously, vice versa.
Can someone tell me what I need to do, please?

A:Have Windows 7 automatically switch to LAN when cable is plugged in and switch to wireless when it's removed

There are two methods can help you.
1. Go to <Network and Sharing><Change Adapter Settings> and right click your wired and wireless adapters one at a time to change the properties. Select IPv4, click <Properties>
then click <Advanced>. For each one, clear the "Automatic metric" check box and assign the metric value manually. Setting your wired adapter?s metric value lower than wireless adapter one, such as ?1? for wired adapter and ?2? for wired adapter.

2. Go to <Network and Sharing><Change Adapter Settings>,
hold down 'alt' to bring up the "File" menu, select "Advanced", select
"Advanced Settings" from the dropdown menu, adjust the priority of your wired adapter higher than your wireless adapter in the "Advanced Settings" window under the "Adapters and Bindings" tab.
Hope this helps. Please remember to click ?Mark as Answer? on the post that helps you, and to click ?Unmark as Answer? if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

I have a wireless router connected to my modem, and ALL PC's connect to that for internet.

I also have a gigabit switch I use to transfer data in between several of the machines. I do it quite often and I don't want it eating up the wifi bandwidth.
I have done it before, but it has been a long time and I cannot remember how I forced internet traffic over the wifi and local traffic through the switch
Is the only way to do it to specifically tell Windows to use the IP address of the LAN connection? I know it will work that way, forcing local traffic directly to that IP, but I seem to remember there being an easier way to do this.

One question I need to know

If you go from DSL modem to Router then Router to switch
my question is then
If I wanted to hook another mini linksys switch into the bigger switch would you run the cat5e cable from the first switch to a reg port in the second switch or would you run it to the uplink port and then hook the 1 or 2 computers into the reg ports of the second switch.??

Hi everyone, I searched through the forums but couldn't really find what I was looking for.

Currently we have a DHCP server set up to a switch, that has a special line connecting to a switch in our shop which is just across our back lot, giving network access to the few computers over there. They recently put in a new machine that needs network access, but they have already accidentally cut two ethernet cords. I'm looking to provide a wireless solution for the machine, but I don't want to have to spend a few thousand dollars on a large wireless switch.

Can I plug a wireless router into the switch in our shop, and essentially turn it into a wireless bridge, or is there another, simpler way to do this?

If this has already been answered, sorry for missing it!

We have 3 16 port switches connected to our router. Everything has been in place and working well since last May.
Beginning this week, as soon as one employee arrives and turns on his pc, every pc on that switch loses internet access. Not network access - can still see other pc's - just no internet.

The pc causing the problems is the oldest on our network, but it is running Win10 like the others. When I check the stats on the router for his IP address, his has the highest transmission numbers.

We are scheduled to replace that pc within the next 2 weeks, but is there something I can/should look at doing in the mean time?

I thought that I had this all figured out, but my dad just asked me a question about my setup, and I can't answer it.

The setup is like this:
[ip-phones + computers]-->[small switch]-->[managed L2 switch]-->[router]-->[modem]

I have several ip-phones and computers grouped into blocks of 8. Each set of 8 is a medley of phones/computers connected to a small switch http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Sate...nksys/Common/VisitorWrapper&lid=3681322279B34

Each of these switches, in turn, will be connected to a managed L2 switch http://www1.ca.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/pwcnt_3448p?c=ca&cs=calca1&l=en&s=biz that will create 2 VLANS: One VLAN will contain all of the phones, and the other will contain all of the computers. In turn, each VLAN will have its own router and DSL modem, thereby separating the network traffic.

I know that I can use this L2 switch to make the VLANS based on the MAC addresses of the devices. However, the smaller switches do not support 802.1q [VLANs]. Will it be a problem that the smaller switches do not support VLANs? Essentially, will this setup work to split up network traffic?

Thanks once again,

A:Computer, switch, switch, router, modem

I have the same DELL switch for my phones. You PoE will not carry across the linksys switches, so that is the first problem.
Next are the computers attached to the phones? Or does each device get its own drop?

And whats this about 2 routers and modems? Thats a bit over kill!! QoS would do the trick.

I would run all the devices off the Dell and attach the computers to the Phones (most IP Phones have a passthrough port) Configure the Dell with trunk ports with the Computer VLAN passing untagged traffic making it the native VLAN. While having the phones on a Tagged VLAN(If you phones conig allows you to set the VLAN in its config great! If not you can bind the MAC to the VLAN). The you create a QoS policy giving the VoIP traffic priority!

I understand that a hub is more like a party line, where all devices hear and read data before sending it to next port, and a switch is advanced hub. But, what is a router. I know what a wireless router is, but they say a router is more advanced than a switch. Can you buy a non-wireless router?

Also, can you connect 2 switches together? So, Modem-----to Switch----to Switch----Computer

And both switches have other devices connected?

A:Hub vs Switch vs Router/ 2 Switch Story

you CAN buy a non-wireless router--but--the two I found on Amazon were only 10/100 (most modern systems use gigabit ethernet 10/100/1000) but wired are generally cheaper than a wireless router(the Cisco below is NOT cheap)--however--it's not necessary to use the wireless part of the wireless router as most have at least 4 ports (wired).

Yes you can connect switches together but they won't allow for multiple computers to connect to the Internet (at least not easily nor in a way that makes sense).

What devices are you trying to connect together?

wired routers:
Amazon.com: TRENDnet 4-Port Broadband Router TW100-S4W1CA (Black): Electronics

Amazon.com: Cisco-Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port 10/100 Switch: Electronics

We are moving to a new office location. The guys who will be setting our network is proposing the following equipment:

1. 3Com 24-port 10/100 mbps switch
2. 24-port Patch panel
3. 6u data cabinet
4. 1u cable management

The new office will be a 2-floor building with around 40 computers. I asked some of my friends who are more expert on network setup and told me typical switch (Linksys, Cisco) will do if we need to save some money.

What do you think? Thanks a lot!

A:Is 3Com 24-switch necessary or typical switch will do?

Well, first off, I'd be specifying a gigabit switch for expandability, I can't see investing in a 10/100 switch in 2010! If you don't need a managed switch, or need to save money initially, and unmanaged switch will probably be significantly cheaper.

In point of fact, if you want to go really cheap, you can get away for less than $100!

My Catalyst 4507 switch maybe has some problem. Our pc get ip by DHCP from DC server and they connect 4507 switch. Now there are four machines have some problem that is the icon of network connect shows a "!" in it. I right click the icon and choose "repair" it.But it stopped at the process of renewing ip. I think the network connection of those machines have some problem. If i changed their net port at switch, they can work normally. And the four machines' net port at switch are next to next,it means the module of the switch has problem. Could anybody tell me how can i fix it? Connect it by "console" port and configure it? Thanks.

A:Switch issue

First off, have you checked the cables and the NICs to see if they're good. Next, I suggest you check the IP range of your DHCP server, the IP lease time of the DHCP server, and the network settings on the machines. It sounds like you're getting a IP conflict because either a machine isn't releasing a IP or you have a Static IP in the DHCP servers range.

I'm assuming this is a layer 2 switch? Is it managed?

You might be able to google the info if you use the proper brand name, "3Com".

In this case, googling "3com superstack 1100" led me to 3Com's product page, with a link to the support downloads, including documentation and utilities:

You may need to reset it to factory defaults, before the default access and login will work.

For some time now I have had the set-up outlined below (sorry for the granularity but as I don't know what the problem is I
thought it best to highlight all my connected devices).

Back room
- cable broadband router (operating in modem only mode)
- own wireless router connected to modem
- NAS connected to router wireless router
- Desktop connected to wireless router
- 500Mb passthrough Homeplug adaptor connected to router
- 5 port Gigabit ethernet switch( Tenda G1005D) connected to router
- Printer connected to switch
- Virgin Media TiVo connected to switch

- 500Mb passthrough Homeplug adaptor
- 8 port Gigabit ethernet switch (D-link go-sw-8g) connected to Homeplug adaptor
- HTPC (for XBMC) connected to switch
- TV connected to switch
- AV reciever connected to switch
- VM Tivo connected to switch

This set-up has worked fine with me receiving good wired and wireless connections throughout the house
However yesterday my wired downstream speed dropped dramatically in the lounge to the point where streaming video to my
XBMC box was impossible and even performing a LAN speed test proved difficult.

This morning I have ran several tests on the connection in the lounge and I have determined, buy plugging the cable from the
adaptor straight into my laptop, that the connection from the Homeplug adaptor in the lounge is good in that both a LAN
test and an internet speed test show the connection is capable of at least 90Mb...s... Read more

How many programs start up with your PC?
Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete or Ctrl+Shift+Esc at the same time to bring up the Task Manager.

First right click on the icons in the system tray(or double left click to open)and try to access the "settings", "preferences" or "options" of each of the applications that you don't want to start when the computer boots up. There should be an option labeled "Start upon Windows Startup". Make sure that option is unchecked.
If there is no option, download and install
CodeStuff Starter to manage your startup programs
(if you get the .zip file from the authors site it requires no installation)
Launch the program and uncheck any program that you don't want to load/run at startup.
If you later change your mind, replace the checkmark.
It's very easy to search within the program too!
Right click on an entry > Search Internet > search engines & some sites below.

So the Internet on my T430s recently stopped working, and every time I try to troubleshoot I'm told to turn on wireless capability using my wireless switch, which is definitely in the on position. (I've even tried turning it to the off position just in case I'm really stupid and have them mixed up, but no Internet there either.) What I've done so far: 1) Fn+F5 gives me the message "The hardware wireless radio switch must be in the on position to use the wireless radios," which is unhelpful since it's in the on position. 2) Going into Device Manager and checking Network Adapters tells me that I have 4 adapters, and the Properties menu for all 4 says that "This device is working properly." I'm not sure which one is being used for my main connection, but all the ones listed say they're working. 3) I did some Googling and found some random sources that said you could use BIOS to override the hardware switch and turn wireless on. Wasn't able to find anything, so I'm wondering whether that doesn't apply for the T430s. Not super familiar with BIOS so I might be using it totally wrong. 4) I opened the computer up to take a look at the wireless radio switch. Didn't see anything clearly wrong with it, but I doubt I'd be able to detect a visible problem even if one were present.  So yeah, I'd appreciate if someone could help me with the issue. I'd prefer to solve it on the software side of things, so if someone could tell me a way to override the hardw... Read more

A:T430s Wireless Switch Issue

Never mind, solved it. I opened the laptop up, pushed down on the switch's ribbon connector thing... and my wireless radio turned on again. What an idiotic issue to have to deal with; the stupid thing must've gotten dislodged somehow.

I have encountered an issue with my laptop (MSI L1300, Intel Atom N450, DDR11 1GB, Sata 160 GB, running Windows XP).

They keyboard on my laptop has become unusable due to water damage. All other parts of the laptop remain fully operational. I have taken it to the repair store and they were unable to source the parts for it so I have been using a USB plugin keyboard.

The issue however, is that to access the internet I must turn on the wireless switch usually (FN + F11). The USB keyboard I have does not have this function built into it like my original laptop keyboard does. Nor does it have any means of turning the wireless ability on.

I was hoping to find out a way to manually turn my wireless switch on so that I may continue to use my laptop.

Any help or insight into this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

I have a curious issue, so I figured I'd see if someone can fix a problem for me for a change.

I recently upgraded to a 35/35 Internet connection. When I connect my computer directly to the router, I get the full bandwidth on a test at www.speedtest.net. However, whenever I use any of my gigabit switches between the computer and the Actiontec MI424WR router, I get much more leisurely upstream connections.

This seems to be some sort of issue with the cheap SOHO switch being throttled by the 100mbit port on the router. Obviously, the gigabit port on my computer seems to be smarter than the gigabit switch ports.

It seems clear that I probably have to replace the switch with a better model, but I don't want to buy a more expensive switch without knowing that it's really going to solve the handshake issue.

Any suggestions or ideas on how to beat this into submission would be appreciated.

Here's the results I'm seeing.
Using SOHO gigabit switch between computer and router (D-Link and Trendnet models tested with identical results);

Direct connection to router.

According to the default factory hardware setting, the graphics setting should automatically switch to the external GPU(AMD R9 M375) while the laptop has been plugged in. This, however, isn't happening anymore. The graphics setting stays at the in-built Intel graphics. The only way to play games at the AMD card is to manually choose "High Perfomance" against the switchable graphics application settings from the AMD control center. Previously, I didn't have to go through all this hassle as the graphics used to switch to AMD automatically while charging. I'm experiencing a few more graphic related issues because of this. I explained this issue at the service center, but found no luck. I guess they were way too qualified to understand this issue. I've already tried resetting my laptop. Any ideas ?

I have XP Media Center on my pc and am using the Micorosft remote to control it.

When I want to come out of media center, back to winodws, I press the red button on the remote - however, this shuts the machine down - its does the same operation as if i press the power button on my case. I proved this theory by altering the behaviour of this from settings - and altered it to 'standby'. When i press the red button now, windows standsby.

Has anyone else had this issue? How do i resolve so i just exit media center?

A:XP Media Center - switch off by remote issue

The red power button on the Media Center Remote acts exactly like the power button on your computer. In the control panel under "Power Options" and then under the "Advanced Tab" you will find something that says "When I press the power button on my computer: Shut down". So when you press the power button on the computer, the computer shuts down. That is the same for the media center controller, when you press the power button on the controller it shuts down the computer. To close out of the media center application, press the green media center button and then arrow over to the right to the X. This will close just the media center app and will not shut down the computer.

Hello everybody, before I get pointed to every other thread about varying similar issues, I would like to say that I have literally read and tried all the options in both https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Yoga-14-1st-gen-Clickpad-Trackpad-Repla...https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Switch-ThinkPad-Yoga-Clickpad-with-new-...I recently just switched out the clickpad for the trackpad on my yoga 14, gen1. I am currently having the issue of the mouse properties not even showing a synaptics tab. There are no options for any multitouch for the touchpart of the pad, my physical buttons on the pad works fine though. I noticed that the driver is seen as synaptics pointing device? Shouldn't it be synaptics touchpad? Anyways I have no access/options for the multitouch. Any ideas? I'm willing to try anything at this point. I don't want to do a clean reinstall of windows 10 yet, busy with tons of work. Thanks

I hope someone has crossed this issue and has a solution.

I have a Thinkpad 600e and use it in a situation where it needs constant power. I use it as a monitor for my summer home when we go on vacation, However, we have constant power outages and I want to have the laptop boot up automatically when power resumes and we are away. I don't rely on batteries and when I try to keep the power switch engaged (tape), it starts then shuts down.

Can anyone help?

A:IBM Thinkpad 600e power switch issue...please help

Power switches usually rely on a momentary "on" connection to turn on. A continuous connection invokes a shutdown.
If there is no option under BIOS to restart on power restore, you need to make a pulse generator that provides a contact close on power up and hard wire it in.

I recently purchased an ATEN KVM CS-72E switch. I am using the switch to connect 2 computers to an LCD monitor.

This setup works most of the time, but sometimes, when I switch to one of the computers, I get the message "Analog Out of Range". This never happened when the monitor was connected directly to the computer (i.e. without the KVM switch) and I have been using this monitor and this computer for a long time.

This is very frustrating as the only way I can get the monitor and computer to recognise each other again is to turn off the computer at the wall and reboot - losing whatever work I am doing. As soon as I reboot the computer, the switch works correctly and the monitor sees both computers.

The problem only seems to happen when I have been using Computer 1 for a long time without switching back to Computer 2. Then, when I eventually switch back to Computer 2, I get the "Analog Out of Range" message. When I switch regularly between computers, the problem does not seem to happen.

I have done a lot of googling and found quite a few "Analog out of range" issues. Interestingly, they all seem to involve LG LCD monitors. However, none of the issues directly match mine and none of the suggestions have been effective.

My setup is:

Computer 1: Pentium 4, 3 gig processor, 2 gig RAM, Windows XP Pro SP2. nVidia Geforce FX 5700. It is on KVM switch 1.

Computer 2: AMD Athlon 1.6gig processor, 1gig RAM, Windows XP Home SP2. nVidia Geforce FX 5200.... Read more
