Q: PLEASE HELP!!! My Ideapad z400 Touchscreen random...

Hi, My touchscreen randomly stopped working the other week and I have no idea if it's some sort of keyboard shortcut I accidentally hit or what... I tried to calibrate it under the "Pen and Touch" section of the Control Panel and nothing worked (it didn't recognize my touch at allk to even TRY and calibrate it). Then I tried Right-clicking the "HID-compliant touch screen" section of the "Human Interface Devices" drop-down tab of my Device Manager, and nothing worked-- I even tried to "Disable" the touch screen and then re-Enable it, but that didn't work. I also ran a check for an updated driver I may have needed but didn't get when my computer automatically upgraded to Windows 10, but it said that "my touch screen driver was up to date" (which I had a feeling would be the result since my Windows 10 upgrade was months ago and my touchscreen worked fine until just last week... unless my anti-spyware programs: Spybot Search and Destroy and Malwarebytes, somehow disabled it...?). I even tried turning on "Tablet mode" to see if that would work, but nada. Finally, I figured maybe I accidentally hit some sort of setting that would disable touchscreen while my wireless mouse was on, but touch STILL didn't work when I turned off my mouse. ======> PLEASE HELP ME!!! Thanks!!!

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A:z400 TOUCHSCREEN PROBLEM?

hi lisheng,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

First Try doing a Power Drain.

Then Open Device Manager and open the Human Interface Devices
Uninstall all that starts with HID- then restart the system See if the problem will go away

If still the same I would consider this as a hardware Issue

You can contact Lenovo Technical Support here

Hi CuriousFox ,

Greetings.

To isolate fastest is to have another battery to use or charging the original battery on a known working compatible laptop.
The power checkout guide of the hardware machine manual provides steps to check battery charging integrity (example form Z510 manual page 21) .

You can also try plugging the laptop but not turning it on for 1-2 hours checking if there would be changes with the battery indicator LED.

Would it be the same using similar energy manager and operating system that came originally with the machine?
How is the battery health and battery report?

Update us how it goes.

I have two Lenovo Y40-70 computers that I purchased within a couple weeks of each other.  They came with Windows 8.1 but I upgraded to Windows 10. A few months ago, I noticed that my computer battery meter was reading 100% for an hour.  I continued to work unplugged until the battery died while still reading 100%.  I recharged and the battery again read 100% for more than a couple hours, then died.  So the battery lifetime is as good as always, but the reading is not right.  When I reboot, it still reads 100%. Strangely, the second system, whcih I had not used for a while, was OK, but a few days later, it started doing the same thing (though it was reading 87%, the charge when the computer last worked right.  I suscpect that this happened after a critical update, which the second system went through later. Recently, I downloaded from the Lenovo website the newer power management software on both computers, and it did not help. Then I noticed the Battery recall so downloaded the "Lenovo Battery Utility 2015" to see if my system was afffected by the problem.  When I run the utility, I get the mssage "No Battery Detect."  So it would appear that there may be an issue with the software detecting the batter. Since I can't know the state of the battery (it appears to not want to recharge until it's empty, I gues because it thinks it's 100% charged), I cannot count on this computer when it's not plugged in. Now I ... Hi, I have a Z400 Touch laptop Ideapad - Type 6881. I downloaded Windows 10 a little while ago and put all my stuff on a USB drive before changing. After I did that, I had to reset my entire computer because my husband put a virus on it. I changed it back to factory settings and then updated it to Windows 10 again. When trying to put my stuff from my USB back onto my computer, the USB says that it is unallocated. Is there anyway I can get those files back or are they lost forever? If you could please let me know because I don't want to lose everything I have on it.

Hi lleclair46,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum!

When you inset the USB drive and go to 'Computer', is it showing less space than what there is actually on the drive? You can recover the unallocated space, but this may wipe whatever was on the USB drive.

A:How to reset BIOS Lenovo Z400 Ideapad Touch

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

There is no master password, back door or CMOS clearing procedure that will remove your forgotten password.  This is due to the ease in which laptops are stolen.   To resolve the issue you have basically two options.  The first is for the Uncle to try and remember the password he used.  Please keep in mind that passwords are case sensitive and he may have use upper and lower case characters.  The second option is to replace the motherboard.

Hello. First of all, thank you for taking the time to view my post and potentially help me out. So the problem is that my laptop will not start. I was using my laptop here one day and it was working fine, but it was unable to charge for some reason and ended up shutting down so I went to bed. The next morning I tried turning it on, but it was dead. I have tried a different charger as my sister also has a lenovo laptop, but this did not work either. I would think if the battery was the problem, the laptop should still be working with the charger in? I have tried calling support line several times with no answer, the warranty has gone out and I forgot where i bought the laptop sadly. Really frustrated over here, and any help is highly appreciated!

I've had my Lenovo ideapad Flex 15 for just over a year now, so I guess this is the time at which things start going kerplooey. Today my touchscreen started going haywire, clicking rapidly and repeatedly in one random spot in the top left corner of my screen, so fast I couldn't use my touchpad to get the cursor away from the spot. After closing and reopening the computer, the problem stopped momentarily but then came back. I rebooted and when Windows restarted I received a pop up that "Windows Mouse and Keyboard Center has stopped working." The problem returned shortly after, and now my touchscreen has stopped working altogether. Can anyone help me?

A:Ideapad Flex 15 touchscreen woes

Update: The problem is now intermittently returning. If I close my laptop and reopen it, it seems to disable the touchscreen for a period of time so that I'm able to actually use my computer for a bit before it starts feverishly attacking that one area of the screen. All instructions I've found online to disable the touchscreen haven't worked... I'd love to have it functioning again though. Help?

I've had my ideapad (flex 15 20309) for about 2 years and was working fine. Around 5 months ago I noticed my touchscreen wouldn't work any more. Sometimes after a reboot it would seem to come back to life but now I can't figure out what is going on. I seem to have Microsoft Windows 10 home as the operating system. I can't find any setting or keystroke or anything that can get my touchscreen back to life. Help! My touchpad (mousepad) works fine and I'm using a USB mouse as well because I don't like using the mousepad. The only thing I think has changed in the last 5 or 6 months was probably windows 10 and the regular updates that are done via windows 10.

Hi everyone, The touchscreen of my idepad flex 14 stopped to work suddenly. I have upgraded to Windows 10 recently and  didn't have any problem but now the defect came up. I have checked the device manager and the HID compliant touch screen driver is there (Version from 2006) and seems to be ok. I have tried to upgrade the driver but Windows says that is the latest version. Is there a driver from Lenovo for the touchscreen device? I  have an Ideapad Flex 15.

Since I upgraded yesterday to Windows 10, I have lost the touchscreen ability I had up to that point on Windows 8.1. On search for pen and touch, I was given this message on a system information page: "No pen or touch input is available for this display." I have looked in device manager under Human Interface Devices. Expanding the view to show hidden devices, I see "HID compliant touch screen." When I click to get device status, this is the message:

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

How do I do that? I note a similar problem in Windows 8.1 on this posting:

To resolve the touchscreen issue follow below steps.1. Open Device Manager and uninstall all that start with HID- under Human interface devices.2. Restart the system and see if that works. Also perform a Power Drain. If the battery is removable, remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec. Turn the computer back on and check now if touchscreen is working fine.

Press Windows+X.
- Select Device Manager.
- Find the Touchscreen driver under Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller(A111).  You're going to uninstall this and check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device".  Don't worry, it won't blow up your computer.

Has anyone else had problems with their touchscreens?
At times I receive random touchscreen input, above and below the actual touch point. This renders the touchscreen unusable.
I noticed that when unplugging the AC adapter this issue is resolved, and at times stays 'fixed' when plugging it in again, although not always. I have yet to encounter the issue to occur without the laptop being plugged in.
This seems to be indicative of faulty HW. I also have other problems with the display, namely incorrect color presentations in mainly dark areas. Before, (with a new laptop) I needed a battery replacement because the battery was no longer recognized after just one week of usage. Possibly all of these are somehow related to a faulty unit?

A:Ideapad 300 random beeping

Hi edlglide ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Would beeping happens within Windows or before booting ?
Hardware beep codes do represent status and issue.
To isolate , you can disable Windows beeps and observe more.
Running diagnostics can help identify underlying issue as even having a sticky key may exhibit same beeps as well as security issues like prompts (virus / adware / malware) where antivirus and other security software may detect.

Hi there, I recently bought a new Idea 500-15ISK Core i7 6500u with a Radeon graphics card and 6GB RAM memory. The computer keeps restarting randomly. I have a Lenovo Ideapad z575 with an AMD A-Series APU, and also a discrete video card which I can run in Crossfire if I so choose.

I have been having problems with it randomly restarting without any error in even viewer, no blue screen, nothing. It seems to have begun doing this when I tried upgrading the memory by swapping the 2gb stick for a 4gb (8gb total), and it does not seem to be overheating. It will do it playing youtube videos, gaming, and also just sitting idle in chrome.

I have noticed that according to CPU-Z my memory is currently running with very low timings compared to their specifications, and I don't know why. I have tried switching slots, switching sticks, removing sticks, etc, and it does not change this. I have no option in the BIOS to change memory timings, and am wondering if it has something to to with the integrated video processor on the APU.

Any help would be great!

Also, it should be noted that I don't have the 2gb stick anymore to try putting it back to stock.

A:Ideapad z575 Random Restart

Actually it looks like using Slot #1 allows it to run at the correct timings. Why would Slot #2 force both banks to use the wrong (faster) timings?

And now for some reason it looks like I can add the second slot and have correct timings... how strange. It is still restarting when playing flash video.

So, I've always fixed it by installing the AUO Touchscreen Firmware/ sp63116.exe from:http://support.hp.com/mx-es/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-14-f000-sleekbook/5375393/model/5403360#... My problem atm is that this time, that process isn't working. The installer opens, installs the thing, then the program opens and immediately closes. This prompts windows to ask me if the driver installed correctly or that if it should attempt to install under a compatibility mode. No matter which I choose, it still does the same thing. It won't stay open for more than 1 second.  I've restored my laptop to factory presets a couple times already and the touchscreen isn't working yet because the driver/program/wizard thingy refuses to stay open after it is done installing. Can anybody help me? Perhaps share a different version of the installer? Thank you.

I'm using Spectre X2 Tablet PC deattachable laptop and I'm having issue with touchscreen. Few days ago my little brother used my PC, he ran all excutable stuffs from my external storage drive and finally, He destroyed my PC. He installed wrong touchscreen firmware (It was for my secondary laptop which from Lenovo). So, I can't use my touchscreen and, It never works. I've already installed all driver listed on  support page, and tried to reset my PC, Re-install windows.. Nothing works. Only way to I resolve it is re-installing proper Touchscreen firmware. But there's no touchscreen firmware for Spectre X2 on support page. Can anybody send me Touchscreen firmware for my Spectre?

Hey Guys,

I wanted to find the solution for my issue on my own by researching it on forums, however I almost tried everything and I got very tired of that so decided to write a massive post about, somebody might have experienced the same issue(s) and could help me out.

I purchased my Lenovo Ideapad 305(Processor: Intel Pentium N3540 processor(N3540): : Memory: 8GB DDR3L 1600 a year ago. Had WIN 8.1(64bit) on it, I have recently upgraded to WIN 10(64bit), the issues was present at 8.1 system as well, basically thats why I have upgraded it.But also done factory reset before upgrade. On WIN 10 the experience destroying situations are less, however most of them pretty much remained.

I only can guess my issue might be CPU related, could caused by the current driver (which is updated to latest version). CPU is massively overwhelming when I play games(10 year old: Call of duty2, on minimal graphics) Did once Dust Cleaning at Integrated Lenovo app. Issue remained.. Downloaded latest drivers from Win update, and Lenovo support site. CPU usage jumps top 100% randomly, when happens the situation below: Most of the apps are not responding when I use them.

Example: IE11 or Edge are not responding for 15-20 seconds when I log in to various sites. Some times the browser is running nicely and fast, but still randomly keeps not responding.. Its also affecting event viewer. When I launch and want to check for System log files it takes ages(30 secs) to load 500 event... Read more
