Sharepoint Document Class Add on Missing in IE Microsoft InfoPath 2010 is required to use this feature."

Q: Sharepoint Document Class Add on Missing in IE Microsoft InfoPath 2010 is required to use this feature."

I came up with an issue trying to use SharePoint designer and InfoPath from a custom list. My problem was I could open SharePoint designer or InfoPath. Every time I tried to open SPD, it will send me to the download because of the add on missing
(hence I already had SPD installed on my machine.) the same was with InfoPath. I was getting an error "Microsoft InfoPath 2010 is required to use this feature." I researched the internet and everyone recommended to enable the
SharePoint Document Class Add on Missing in IE within IE add-on. my problem was
SharePoint Document Class Add on was missing from the IE add-ons list. Other blogs recommended to install SharePoint foundation which never heard of installing SharePoint foundation on a user computer. One site recommended
to uninstall/install outlook. This ringed the bell and let me to do a repair on my office suite. After doing a repair I was able to open SPD and InfoPath. Hope this helps someone out there.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

New to InfoPath, but have been doing some 'how to' lessons at work, and we jotted all notes down. Went away, and created the Infopath form, which worked.

Managed to publish to our Sharepoint site, and then when we clicked on our form's Submit button, its supposed to email people, and it didn't.

So, went back to the original form, and all our rules have gone. Someone from IT just had a look when we said it wasn't working, noticed the rules were not there and said that is the reason. I explained we put them there, so he put one back in so we could get it working, and he published it again.

It worked, apart from emailing.

After he went (was doing this via Lync), the rules had gone again.

We saved the rules before publishing the first time, is there something that is needed to select to stop this from happening?

Many thanks

we are about to upgrade from IE9 to IE11. While testing we found a problem when opening our sharepoint 2010 site. At the bottom we get the following message:
"This webpage want to run "NameCtrlClass" which isn't compatible with Internet Explorers enhanced security features. if you trust this site, you can disable Enhanced Protected Mode for this site and allow the control to run."
You can choose between "Run control" oder "don't run". But the result stays: The message still pops up every time.
I searched the web and realized that the NameCtrlClass is used to display the availability of a person in sharepoint. As this feature is not used we disabled the NameCtrlClass through GPO. But its not helping either :(
Ah, we are using Office 2010, and the NameCtrlClass Version is 14.0.6109.5000. So we do not have the common error, that the NameCtrlClass wasn't updated while installing Office 2013.
Any ideas how we solve this problem?
Thanks a lot for every hint

A:IE11 - NameCtrl Class not compatible on Sharepoint 2010

It is unclear from your question whether the
"This webpage want to run "NameCtrlClass" which isn't compatible with Internet Explorers enhanced security features. if you trust this site, you can disable Enhanced Protected Mode for this site and allow the control to run."
occurs with IE9 or IE11.
you can try
1. File>Properties .... which IE security zone does the sharepoint site map to (expected Intranet).
2. Tools>Internet Options>Security tab, click "Reset all zones to default"
then Intranet sites icon, uncheck "Enable Protected Mode"... close all open IE windows and restart for the full changes to take affect.
3. Tools>Manage Addons>Show all addons..... locate NameCtrlClass in the list and double click on it to show its properties... also make sure that is enabled.
Please post back with your answers to my questions if your sharepoint site currently does not map to the Intranet zone.

One of our users cannot open office documents from our SharePoint 2010 site with Office 2010
The SharePoint Opendocuments class addon does not appear in IE10.
The owssupp.dll is in the correct program path of C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14
There are no other versions of Office installed. This is a new PC build.
Things I have tried to get it to appear after searching the web:
Repaired Office; Upgraded to IE11. Downgraded to IE9 and back to IE10; installed SharePoint designer, installed Office SP2; tried to edit the document in Word from the SharePoint site; Copied the document path and open with Word; tried registering owssup.dll
(error occurred); reset IE; delete owssupp.dll and repaired office; uninstalled Office 2010 and install Office 2007.
Nothing works. Is there a way to manually add the SharePoint Opendocuments class?

Title: SharePoint 2010 document broken link due to unrecognized File protocol: ms-word
Please help point me in the right direction. I checked the File association on Internet settings and document type docx is associated with Word, but it won't open.

Try refining this symptom description. What exactly do you mean by "it won't open"? Answering that might explain why you are posting this in an IE forum. E.g. right-click, Copy Shortcut whatever it is that you are calling
a "broken link" and Paste it here.
Otherwise, try right-click, Save target as... to put the file into your Downloads (Ctrl-j) and then use right-click, Properties to find its
full path and name. Note that that would be quite different from what the Copy Shortcut step would have shown.
Next I suspect that the Set Associations GUI tool may not be showing you the correct information. FWIW it certainly doesn't show me the correct information in W8.1. So, I would try checking if you have an explicit association and file type combination
by using the assoc and ftype commands in a cmd window. In fact, instead of just showing the ftype for the current association I would use this:
    ftype | find /i "word"
Then you could take the most appropriate template (not necessarily the one pointed to by the assoc command) and fill it in on a Run... dialog (or a ... Read more

Okay--apparently 3 or 4 years ago I used a document to create a form template (not technically a form or template in the sense it did not have any fields--just used it to bring up to create new documents based on it). In any event, the document and apparently had some codes in it that I did not see and everything was fine for until moving to Word 2010. Now, virtually any document I pull up comes up with an error. I tried "Open and Repair" and that did not work.

But here is the issue--THIS NEVER SHOWED UP IN PRIOR WORD VERSIONS! I can go right now and pull the same document up on any one of 3 or 4 different computers in the office all running Office 2007 and the document displays fine. So there must be a way to stop Word from displaying the error. I don't want to have to go in an take out all of those codes from all the documents we have that includes them.

There is hopefully a very simple answer to this, but I'm not used to working with bound forms.

I have a bound form with four cascading combo boxes. All four fields are required (this is a lossless join form). It's a very lightweight form with native navigation and selectors. The only VBA so far is to run the requeries.

Anyway, I want to clear the values from lower cascading combo boxes if the value of a higher combo is changed. The table constraints don't allow nulls or zero-length strings, so every time I try to set a combo's value to null or nothing, I get a standard Access error for a field constraint violation.

My confusion is, the form is dirty, and the field values are being written to a new record, but the record itself shouldn't have posted yet (i.e. the commit shouldn't have happened). So why can't I blank out a field? What's the proper way to do this?

In my mind it seems like I would clear the record entirely and then rewrite the combo values that I don't want to delete. Is there a better way?

Q: cannot Copy {FileName): Path too Deep

There appears to be no open thread on this issue...disappearing context menu "new/textdocument" option.

After trying several alternate text editor demos I found that my registry .txt entry was empty except for the (default) line item...I replaced the entry with an expanded entry found elsewhere on this forum which called for notepad.exe and included ItemName and NullFile etc.

After rebooting and checking my program associations to verify that my new editor, EditPlus, was the default, I found that the "new/text document" option appears and works in all the usual places including the desktop...

But there must be more to the story... Notepad still appears in the ItemName entry. Is this just a default reg entry, with the actual default program assignments appearing elsewhere?

BTW, as an old poster suggested elsewhere X-Setup has been de-commissioned but is still available on MajorGeeks. It has some editing capability but wouldn't add a new TXT item because "it already existed" (already registered).

I have a problem with a missing "Printing-Foundation-LPDPrintService" feature/service from Win7 from a RT7 Lite install.
After dozens of tries I have narrowed the problem of not being able to install a printer driver apparently due to this missing feature/service.

What I don't understand is this is not a service that is listed under "Services". It's only listed in the right pane of the 4th page/tab; "Features Removal". The right pane, "Default Features". You apparently check these to keep or protect the removal of features/services which is the opposite of all the other steps where you check to remove an entry. Of course if this was documented properly, I would of looked there sooner.

I can correct this in future installs, but for now can this "Printing-Foundation-LPDPrintService" be re-installed in Win7 w/o reloading the entire O/S?

BTW; this is the missing "Core driver package" that I got when I tried to install a M$ driver off of their site since Canon does not have the driver available.

It blows my mind (small explosion, I admit) that Microsoft Edge didn't come with a "Save As" feature when downloading something from the internet allowing us to change the name of the file as well as the location in which it is being saved. And I was hoping that with updates it would be added. However, I still don't see the feature, even after this November update.

Does anyone know if this will ever be added? I have been using Edge since it came out, but if this kind of boneheadedness continues, I will be switching back to IE.

I'm trying to help someone delete a printer driver long distance. She has already removed (uninstalled) the printer from Devices & Printers. As we know, that removes the printer but does not remove the printer driver.

I wanted her to use the "Print Management" feature, but when she goes to Administrative Tools > there is no "Print Management" listed.

I've suggested MMC (MS Management Console) > Add/Remove Snap In > but "Print Management" is not listed there either.

She is running W7 Home Premium. Her user account is an Administer Account.

Is Print Management unavailable in Home Premium?
Is it only available if she logs in to the actual, Administer Account?
Any easier way to remove the old printer driver?

Thanks for looking.

A:Missing "Print Management" feature

Her printer is an HP D1660.

Only the printer driver was installed, not the "Full Feature Package". So there is nothing in "Remove Programs" to uninstall.

Also: no printer listed in Device Manager, even when checking "Show Hidden Devices".

Hi All,
I would like to know is there is any way i can Integrate of Access 2007 , Sharepoint 2010 and Info Path 2010, because as far as my knowledge we can upload Access 2007 into Sharepoint 2010. In Sharepoint i cannot able to use Access 2007 forms so i need to create another good looking way of showing the access lists.
Can you please anyone help me how i can implement this and if we can what are the requirements need to be done, like tools required and steps for the implementation.
If anyone can suggest some books also i can able to read it and learn it myself.
All the response are welcome and thanks for all your support.

A:Integration of Access 2007 , Sharepoint 2010 and Info Path 2010

I see no one is offering anything on this post. Not a great site for SharePoint(SP) information. But SP its self is relatively new for developers. We can't afford real SP developers so se make our own. Not a great plan but we are supporting a large SP site.

I think with Access 2007 the best approach is to use it to update list and make reports from list. There is no integration to InfoPath forms that I know of. You have to build them on top of your list with SP Designer.

I did find this video in my favorites that says publish access 2007 to SP2010. I haven't whatch recently...
If you really need Access (in SP) you have to go to 2010. I waited till Access and SP 2010 were available on a test site and build a relatively simple db with a couple of reports and queries that did funcion correctly (without too much alteration). I did have to key each table before it would 'publish'. The 'publish' wizard will walk you thru needed fixes. I looked for the DB to refresh my memory but someone has rebuilt the test site and dropped it.

Any way good luck. I wish I had some recent experience on the issue to offer. Maybe this will 'bump' your thread and get some more information!

My system is Win7-64 with Office 2010 64-bit version installed and running OK. I installed Office 2010 using the standard Setup routine and opted to install only Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. After completing the installation I deleted the huge MSOCache folder the installation left behind on my boot drive because my C: is a 64GB SSD and I need all the free space on it I can get.

Now I need to install InfoPath but cannot do it. I have the original Office 2010 CD but all of the Setup programs on it fail - including the one in the InfoPath folder. I downloaded the "trial" Office2010 Setup routine (15.7 MB) but that fails also. I tried "Change" from the Control Panel INstalled Programs list but that does nothing.

Is there any way to get InfoPath installed without having to completely de-install Office 2010 and re-install it?

A:How to install Office 2010 InfoPath?

Starting individual msi packages from Office disc will cause error 1713.

You need to start main setup.exe from Office disc. It will ask you what you want to do. Select Add or remove features, then Add InfoPath. Setup will create huge MSOCache folder again, but install only InfoPath.
Then it will finish, delete MSOCache. That's the only easy way.

My operating system is Vista and I have been using Microsoft office 2007 “Document Imaging” for OCR and passing the text to Word. Recently it has been exhibiting strange behavior.

When I minimize the empty Word document window, a small dialog box appears asking me “Do you want to convert from

Sometimes the Word/”Document Imaging” programs hang up completely, in which case I have to go to “Task Manager” to get out of the predicament.

I have uninstalled and re-installed “Microsoft Office 2007” with no success in solving the problem. However, if I I implement "Document Imaging" on a different computer (also with Vista), everything works as expected.

Hi, I hope I'm not asking this for the millionth time here, as I tried a search but am afraid it all just confused me more.

I believe my problem is related to the Dell all-in-one printer I want to work with my Dell laptop. Recently, Windows updated and I now get this message again upon start up:

Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 is required to continue.
This software is available for free download at

I cannot remember how I fixed it before, or if a general windows update fixed it, but it's doing it again now. I searched online and found this: Microsoft .Net Framework error message? - Microsoft Windows Vista Community Forums - Vistaheads and I followed the instructions only as far as opening up the Windows Features window, as I'm unsure what "Windows Communication Foundation HTTP Activation" and the other "non-HTTP" things are, and what will happen or not happen if I successfully turn either or both on in an attempt to get that above error message to go away...

So basically, I wanted to ask if there was an easy to understand answer somewhere as to how to fix the issue of that error message upon start up. I've uninstalled the printer and reinstalled, but I continue to get that message. I remember trying to look for the drivers online and only becoming more confused. :/

Tried everything and by everything, i do mean everything. spent close to a week frying my brains on this problem. after getting to the select language and input screen, it loads and then goes to a screen saying that the required CD/DVD driver is missing. tried different OS, windows 7 home, home premium, ultimate and proffesional. it all ends up with missing drivers. i mount/burn them onto a 4gb scandisk cruzer blade. i actually managed to install it the same exact way, via that thumb drive. and by some freak problem, had to format everything. even the os. so all i hav now is an empty hard drive, bios setting and my bootable usb drive.i set the bios to AHCI and vice versa to IDE. i dont have RAID though. i tried installing a AHCI controller from the driver disk that came with my notebook but to no succes. tried searching for my hard drive driver even though my bios recognizes it. im really at my wits end here. my notebook is an Asus Pro36sd or U36sd.. hard disk is a fujitsu mhz2250bj g2.. please help guys..

That message is usually an indication of a corrupt installer.

What I'm trying to do:
Ultimately, I want to have a clean install (wipe everything) of Windows 10 on my computer.

What my computer state was before the trouble:
Windows 7 Home Premium and Linux dual boot. Everything worked great and dandy (except intermittent issues with DVD drive not reading disks). All my files were saved to external hard drive. Ready to be wiped and have just one instance of Windows 10 installed (No dual boot)

What I did to break it:
I deleted my Linux partition using the instructions found here.
I also had 3 other partitions, my primary one which has Windows 7 on it, and two others that care pre-installed on the machine when I purchased it brand new. I can't recall their labels but I think one had "data" in the name with some numbers, and the other was "restore". I might be totally wrong about that though.

I decided, "What the heck, I've never needed these before" and so I deleted both of those as well. I'm guessing this was a poor decision but what do I know. The computer ran fine while it was still on but when I rebooted (to see if my linux partition was gone) that's where it all went wrong.

What's wrong and how I've tried to fix it:
When I start it up, I get a black screen with the grub rescue terminal and this text: "error: no such partition grub rescue>". Don't know much about grub (anything at all actually) but after some googling I tried to create a Windows Repair Disk and run it. Burned the disk follo... Read more

A:"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing" and other errors

Solved it! And then went and cried in a corner because it was so simple.

Something I had failed to realize in the past was that of the 4 USB ports on my laptop, two of them are USB 3.0 ports. During my efforts, I had tried the thumb drives on (by sheer chance) both of the 3.0 ports rather than the 2.0 ones. My laptop (and most other modern computers I believe) require extra drivers to be downloaded before being able to use the 3.0 ports that aren't on the computer's firmware. That was the drivers it was complaining about not having.

So, for other troubled souls having the same issue in the future; verify that the port you are trying to load the USB on is a 2.0 port rather than a 3.0 port. The difference is pretty easy to spot when you're looking for it. USB 3.0 ports have an "SS" (for Super Speed) next to the US symbol, whereas USB 2.0 ports do not. See below image for a visual.

I am using Windows XP SP 2 in a desktop PC. But I wanted to install Windows 7 to my computer. So I got a dvd and during installing it from boot from dvd mode, first I get the "select language and time" dialog box, I click next and then this message appears -
"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD or USB flash drive, please insert it now."
I read many threads on the internet regarding this problem, but I didn't try any of those in fear that I might misunderstand something and worsen the condition.
Can anyone give me a step by step info on what to do?
If you need any extra information please ask.

I've been trying to install Windows 7 on my Asus Q501L (which came with W8 already installed) via USB. I faced a problem - while the laptop was able to start the initials steps (the black screen where it shows the copying process of the Windows 7 files), i couldn't go any further than the step at which i need to choose a partition to install the OS on.

It simply says " A required CD/DVD device driver is missing" - when you start Windows 7 or Windows Vista from the setup disk". I tried Shift-F10 to start the CMD and format the HDD (NTFS format) on the spot, restarted, same error message. I disabled Fast Boot in the BIOS, the SATA controller is set to AHCI. I tried several topics @ Tom's Hardware forum, and elsewhere but i still cant find a definitive answer.

I read that maybe i should change the AHCI controller to IDE, only issue i face is that in BIOS i get no options - there's only AHCI as a choice, no IDE, no RAID.
Any Ideas? How do i get IDE controller option to appear in the BIOS settings (via the registry keys, or maybe i need to download that IDE controller (not sure if thats possible)) from the Intel's website (intel core i5 is the CPU of my laptop if that's of any help)?

Thank you

Hi there,

I was wondering if any of you could help me out. I have a Dell XPS 15z L511Z laptop (64 bit, Windows 7, 500GB hard drive, 6GB RAM). Two nights ago, I was factory restoring the laptop to its default settings, when partway through, the screen flickered a couple times, and then restarted with a message saying
PRESS CTRL+ALT+DEL TO RESTART?Weird? It?s not doing anything. I unfortunately don?t have the DVD?s for the laptop, except for one driver disc. I popped it into the laptop, and it didn?t even read the disc ? it just spit it back out. Tried it a few more times, and nothing doing. I didn?t want to force it in, so I figure that wasn?t working.

I downloaded an ISO copy of Windows 7, and put it onto a bootable USB key, and changed the boot sequence in the BIOS so the USB key loaded first. Thankfully it did? however, when I click on ?Install Now?, a window pops up saying
?A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.
Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step?Since my CD/DVD drive doesn?t seem to be working, I?m not really sure what I should do here.
I?ve read up on this topic today, and a lot of people have been suggesting to switch the USB key into a different port, but that hasn?t done the trick for me.

Really looking forward to somebody helping me out with this. It?s been a frustrating... Read more

Hello everyone, first post and thread!

After many hours today looking for answers to this problem in many threads (and websites), I've finally decided to post to get some help from you guys! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have just finished building a new desktop, here is the config:

Intel Core i5-2500K
ASUS P8P67 Pro, Intel P67
CORSAIR Dominator CMP8GX3M2A1600C9 2x 4GB
OCZ Vertex II Series SATA II 2.5" SSD, 60GB
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 1.0TB
Fractal Design Define R3

Using access to MSDN-AA, I got an ISO and key for Windows 7 Pro x64 (DVD - English). I then burnt the ISO to a DVD using my current computer, a WinXP 6 year old ACER laptop. When trying to do the clean install of Win 7 Pro on the new desktop, the installer starts up fine, but after choosing my language and regional settings, I get the famous "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing" error.

Here are the things I have tried, in vain:

1) Installing the various available SATA drivers from the ASUS motherboard DVD. This doesn't help and gives a "No new devices could be found" error.
2) Reburning the ISO with ImgBurn at 2.4x speed with verify on.
3) Redownloading the ISO from MSDN-AA and reburning the new ISO at 2.4x speed.

Note that I would have tried to make a bootable flashdrive of the ISO (using this guide: Install Windows 7 From USB Drive/Pen Drive ) but since I'm on Win XP o... Read more

Use the MS Download tool to write ISO to flash stick: Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool

If this fails, check the HASH against official: http://www.dasmirnov.net/blog/window...-hash-checksum

Make sure you have the latest BIOS update, or reset the CMOS. Set SATA controller to AHCI first, then IDE if that fails.

Remove all but 2gb of RAM to try install, swap RAM, test RAM if necessary.

I have what appears to be a common problem with Win 7, as I've seen numerous users ask this question here & on other forums, but so far, none of the suggested fixes that I've found have worked for me.

I'm trying to install the full retail version of Win 7 Home Premium on a new SATA hard drive in a new 64-bit PC. I'm doing this because the drive that came with the PC had Win 7 Pro on it, but it was a trial version and I don't have a key or disc for it. However, I have a new copy of Win 7 Home Premium, and since I can't downgrade without hacking the registry (which didn't work either, btw), I decided to get a new HD & start over with Win 7 HP.

However, when I try to start the installation from the disc, after I click "Install Now", I get the error message "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing". I'm stuck there.

The Win 7 disc allows you to remove the installation disc at that point & put whatever CD/DVD you want in the drive to try and find the drivers you need, so I tried the disc that came with the motherboard, which is a FoxComm. I'm able to get into the motherboard's installation disc & select "x64" under "driver" & also under "floppy". When I select those files, I get a quick green moving horizontal band, like it's downloaded the driver. If I select any other folder or drive, I get the error message "No device drivers were found" otherwise, so I believe I'm on the right track.

Hi Everyone,

First thank you in advanced for reading this ;)

At work we are developing a documentation management system, using a combination of Microsoft or Microsoft Dependant Techlogies.

This Means:
For the server
SharePoint 2007
Sql Server 2005
K2 BlackPerl

For the Client
Windows XP or Vista
IE 6 or IE7
InfoPath 2007 (to run the infopath formularies loaded from sharepoint)
Office 2007

Everything is working fine, except for a anonying detail, when a client user runs a infopath formulary IE 6/7 gives a warning message and asks if the user want's to save the formulary or run it.

We would like to remove this security feature from IE 6/7 for our internal network.

How can we do this ? has far as i can see there is nothing visible that i can play with in IE 6/7, is there any registry thing to change ?

PS: we need to run infopath on the client machine because the forms are very complicated and will not run (with all the features) on the sharepoint infopath services.

Any help would be great
Miguel Angelo
