Ive tried installing previous Java versions with no success, tried all java troubleshooting, removed previous versions, checked for malware, virus scan, all clean. Cant for the life of me figure out what the hell has happened?

The likes of skype will not load up on boot either, perhaps using Java too... i cant quite understand...

Im not a huge fan of minecraft, but from time to time, i will go onto it, and that wont run either, when i press enter game, it gives me a black screen then says "Java Platform SE Binary is not responding", if that helps....

Any help at all is appreciated at all, at least i assume its java anyway, having to use Internet Exp for this .

Thanks in advance,

Mike.

Preferred Solution: Possible JAVA Error?, Cannot run any programs requiring JAVA?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Possible JAVA Error?, Cannot run any programs requiring JAVA?

You may possibly have adware that you don't know about.

Download AdWareCleaner AdwCleaner Download to your desktop
1.Right-click on adwcleaner.exe and select Run As Administrator to launch the application.
2.Click on Delete button.
3.Confirm each time with OK.
4.Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart. Please post the content of that logfile in your reply.
Note: You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[Sn].txt as well - n is the order number.

Hi,

I've having a few problems that apparently may be related.

1) Vista Backup stops with Catastrophic error 0x8000FFFF.

2) A search on error 0x8000FFFF says that it may have something to do with Java.

3) Java's site says that I don't have Java installed.

4) Downloading Java ends with a Java error 25099, the zip file wont unzip properly?

5) Explorer closes down frequently and has to re-start.

6) Java is in the "Program files" but not registered in Control Panel un-install programs?

So, what does all this mean and what can I do about it?

How do I find out if I have Java working on my PC? Why wont the Java download unzip?

The only option I can see is to un-install Java from Program Files manually, do a Registry Repair and then start over with trying to install Java again.

I'll do this but I thought that someone may know something else about this that would be important to know.

So, does anyone know anything else about this and what to do?

Thanks,

John

Updated Java to v7 Update 11, websites that use java are coming up with a security warning asking if I want to run this application? It says:

An application from the location below is requesting permission to run.
Location: www.time.gov/.../java Then I have to click "Run" so the program will complete.

I get the same thing when going to
How do I test whether Java is working on my computer?
and
Java Tester - What Version of Java Are You Running?
to test my version of Java.

This never happened before, is there anyway to disable this?

I assume that this security check was installed by Java 7 Update 11 because it did not start until I installed v7.11.

I checked this PC before I updated and no security question, after I updated I get the security question.
I updated my PC at work first and that is when I noticed this had started, came home and tested this one before updating so it must be v7.11 that is installing this test or whatever you want to call it.

Just tried both the sites you posted and they do no give me a security warning.

My bank wants me to use Java when logging in to my bank account, and my browser (Chrome) wants me to allow Java to start. When I click "always allow on this site" or what ever it says in English, the browser disappears and the Win 8 app panel pops up. Pretty random. Everything works well in Firefox, but this weirdosity happens every time in Chrome.

Suggestions?

Hello to everyone!

I am currently experiencing this Java problem that I only encounter when updating my Vuze Bittorrent Client. I am just updating it to newer version but every time I try, the error pops up. The complete error is:

"An error occurred: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException"

After clicking OK button, the setup ends. And when I re-try to install the update, the Vuze Installation Wizard will show this message:

"The installer did not start up correctly on the last run. This is probably caused by a corrupted Java VM. Do you want to download or manually select the JVM?"

When I choose YES, the installer will download the file but will fail and will show the Java error. When I choose NO, the installer will proceed normally but will show the same Java error.

I manually update my Java to the latest version which is Version 7 Update 45 but problem still persists. I checked my Java version by going to https://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp.

If you have questions, feel free to ask. I need your help on this since I'm a bit cautious when dealing with this Java since I don't know much about it.

Thanks in advance!

A:Java Error : java.lang.RuntimeException when Updating Vuze

Well; first thing i would try is completely uninstalling Java; and then reinstalling it. Then;(make sure any files retrieved from the bit torrent client are backed up if possible) uninstall the bit torrent client and reinstall that. Try these things and report back and we can go from there if not solved.

I am having issues getting Java to Install on a Windows 7 Pro PC in a stand alone environment.
Error Code 1603.  Java is needed on this PC to be able to print shipping labels from FEDEX.com. I am trying to install using the administrator account. I have removed previous versions of Java. I have  removed the MS updated KB2918614.
The java uninstall tool doesn't run because Java is required to run the java uninstall tool.  I have run multiple Microsoft Fixit Tools.  This is the second PC I have had this error with in this office. Does anyone have any thing more to offer that
might assist me. I have "Google'd" this error for 2 weeks now.  Help would be greatly appreciated, Thank You!

Hi,
According to official site of Oracle, This is a known issue with Microsoft KB2918614The root causes of these errors are under investigation. If this error still persists after uninstalled this update.
You could try following zooeyhall?s suggestion to download and install a previous version of Java or try creating a new administrative user account and install Java with the new account.

If you have desktop programs which require java to run then the best thing you can do is disable it's browser functions, this can be done by the method described on the following page, that way java can still run for those who need it as an environment for their desktop programs, but it will not be vulnerable as a browser plugin.

My Zone Alarm program has picked up two viruses in the space of about a week, Exploit.Java.CVE-2009-3867d six days ago and Trojan-Downloader.Java.Agent.cf today. * After the first, I updated and ran Malware-Bytes and online ESET virus scan. Computer was apparently clean. Zone Alarm was set to do a full scan only every month (! and I'm sure I set it to scan daily.) There are no scan logs for either the ZA antivirus or firewall.* After the downloader trojan appeared, I updated and ran Malware-Bytes, and again it showed no infection. Hi,
So lately my Chrome has been crashing in flash with "We lost Jim memory message", running out of memory? I ran some virus scanners and found nothing, then while browsing some sites i get redirected to Outdated Java Plugin Detected. So i ran a google search on this problem and some of the software recommended was Spyhunter 4. After installing the software it found several malware on my system, but could not remove anything since it's paid. Long story short, my printer stopped printing, all i get is blank pages, no idea if Spyhunter caused that and i keep getting outdated java plugin detected redirection on some pages i visit regularly, how do we start?

An Avast full scan detected a Trojan virus and ran a bootup scan. The bootup scan found five Java:Malware-gen [Trj] and one Jave:Agent-AXI [Expl] located in the Java temp files folder. I quarantined/removed.

Upon doing some research on this site, I ran rKill and then rescanned my computer with Avast and Malwarebytes. Avast looked virus free but said software update status was critical for Java, WinRAR, and a few others. I updated through Java's site but for some reason, it keeps saying the status is critical and recommends both Java and WinRAR. I should mention that as I updated software, I noticed Adware on my Firefox browser - MixiDJ - which I removed through "Uninstal a program". Also found and removed DefaultTab Search Results, LLC and getsav.in Adpeak, Inc. in "Uninstal a program". Malwarebytes found a Trojan.Fake.Alert virus which I quarantined/removed.

Not much slowing or suspicious behavior, but a symptom is a weird psychedelic smearing of letters in text heavy websites. It's crazy.

I ran ESET once and it looked clean after this. But my god, it looks like a can of freaking worms!! I'd appreciate a review of my computer's status and a recommendation. I've never seen anything this severe so I'd also like to know if I should be concerned about privacy/scammers.

Thank you.

Hi Barbara and welcome to seven forums

What do you have as an anti virus now?
If you can get to malwarebytes web page you can download from them and run. It isnt as known as a major AV and therefor less likely to be blocked
You can also try to boot in safe mode with networking.

Let us know what you find and how we can help

I received an email yesterday from comcast(legitmate email) stating that they believe I may be infected with a bot. Since I work from home I normally scan daily using malewarebytes and avg and neither seemed to be picking up anything. However I did notice the day before that certain websites were acting up a little bit on me in particular when searching with google and going to a wikipedia site it would give that internet explorer not responding message then restore itself and go to the website. I decided to give a different virus scan a try and recalled using Avira once in the past. About 2 months ago, I downloaded Verizon's Internet Security Suite and on the inital scan, it came back with exploit.java.gimsh.b and Trojan-dowloader.java.openconnection.ap viruses. I have 2 of the explot virus and one of the trojan virus. I have done 2 system restores in the last 2 weeks in order to be able to use my computer to some extent.
These viruses are making it virtually impossible to use Internet Explorer, simple windows commands, and to check my Yahoo email. Please help me with removal or at the least quarantine of these viruses and let me know what to post for whomever is helping me. I have never joined a site like this and I am unsure of what info someone would need to have to assist me. Hi,

I haven't used my laptop in about a year (besides as an access point for my desktop). Because of this, Java was severely outdated. I went to my University and attempted to connect to the internet, I couldn't get it to work. I ended up using their network connection wizard, which was a Java applet. I had heard that certain updates of Java had security vulnerabilities with applets, but I figured since I was using a trusted applet from my university I would be fine.

The first thing that happened is that my wireless icon on my taskbar changed from the wireless bars to the icon you have when you have an ethernet cable connected. Okay, no big deal probably just a bug right? I went on using my laptop for the rest of the day, and accessed a lot of sensitive information with it including my bank account and my campus information service. I got home and plugged the ethernet cable back into my laptop (that's how I use my laptop's wifi card) but internet on my desktop wasn't working. This happens sometimes, so I restarted both computers but the problem persisted. I thought maybe the wizard messed with my network settings, and went to the Network Connections section of control panel to try to fix it; but it didn't show any of my networks. It was completely blank. I googled the problem, and discovered it may be a problem with my wireless card. I opened Device Manager as instructed, and it was blank as well.

At this point I decided a System Restore was a good ... Read more

Hi daimleramg,

it sounds like you need to update the path variable. It should be done in automatically during the Java installation but it doesn't always happen like that.

Please post back the following information:

- Right click the 'My Computer' icon on your Desktop and select Properties
- Select the Advanced tab and then click the Environment Variables button
- In the System Variable section, post back the contents of the following:
CLASSPATH
PATH
QTJAVA
- Or if you look at the information there, you should be able to edit the entries so they point to the new folder location...but if you get stuck, just let us know.

I've downloaded the latest Java, jre-7u7-windows-i586.exe, and tried to install it. It says "Installation Failed. The wizard was interrupted before Java 7 Update 7 could be complete installed."

Then it takes me to a Java "help" website where I tried to follow what it said. It said to uninstall all previous Java versions through Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs before downloading and installing Java. It also asked me to download the "Offline" Java version, which the file indicated above is.

Well in Add/Remove Programs, after it took many MANY minutes (about 20 minutes) for it to load a listing of all installed software, showed both an older Java 6 and Java 7 (update 5) version installed. In trying to uninstall the existing Java programs, I would get error messages...
"Fatal Error during installation"

This would be the message although I'm trying to uninstall the program. What can I do??? Please help.

Hi

I'm helping a friend with her comp. She has got infected by some java related viruses and now we need to get rid of those. I've helped another friend once getting rid of viruses but almost the only thing I did at that time was to translate the "computer language" (or the geek language, as the non-computer interested ppl prefer to say :P) to him so that he could follow the instructions that the kind ppl like you gave =)

Okay, so let's get to the problem. My friend has run the kaspersky online scan (I have attached the log if you want to see it - but beware; she did an extended report and she has A LOT of toolbars and other unnecessary stuff). The entries that was the most common in the Kaspersky scan was those of:

Exploit.Java.ByteVerify
Downloader.Java.OpenConnection.aa
Downloader.WMA.Wimad.d
Downloader.Java.OpenConnection.aj

Then she ran Spybot S&D which said that she was infected by ErrorSafe, Mediaplex and WinSoftware. But before she managed to fix those problems the comp crashed. After reboot she ran Hijackthis and this is what it showed:

I'll keep it short. I have tried to access POGO as I have before. Now I'm getting an error message that the game I wanted to load will not because of an Error! You need Java to do this and I have loaded the latest Java from Oracle at least 10 times. Same error. I made sure all Java Icons are enabled through out my system. I am using Vista with IE 8. I used POGO troubling shooting to find any issues. The test for Java and the POPUP blocked tests come back fine and it says to enjoy my game, but when I try again the game fails to come up and I again get the error message.

I tried to contact HP of course I'm out of coverage. I tried to go online to chat with HP, as I found that they will help but, now the help line is also having problems with Java. They do not see it...
I get the message "No Java Support. Please install java virtual machine". I tried to reinstall Java again and it tells me that I'm up to date and no installation is needed.

I have been working on this problem for 2 weeks.... I'm retired and can not afford to pay someone...

Please help if you can Please.... Thanks

A month or so a go I downloaded a programme (I think it was an mp3 programme) and it required Java Runtime Environment in order to work. So I downloaded that. I also seem to have Java Web Start as well.

About the same time I started to have a lot of problems with the Internet, and posted on the Web and Email forum. What happened was I could connect to the Internet but could not open any sites or my email. (Host not found and Server error messages). This was an intermitent thing and did not always happen.

A couple of days ago I could not access a certain site at all. It would start to load, then freeze and eventually crash. In desperation I just left it for a while and when I came back I found the site had loaded. It took 5 minutes. Then I noticed a strange icon in the systray. It was Java Console. I opened this and it contained a list of things which didn't mean a lot to me, for example: c:clear console window and f: finalize objects on finalization queue and many more. The icon is still in the systray, there is no exit facility. Even if I close the box, the icon is still in the systray.

I am now having many more crashes than I ever had before, more in the last few weeks than in the last year.

I can't help thinking these programmes have something to do with my current problems. I have done everything to make sure my computer is clean, defrag, spider, scandisk, antivirus, reinstalled modem, checked with ISP tech support, checked internet settings and there is no... Read more

I've noticed a problem with a couple of workstations lately. Both are using java 1.7.0_11 (i know this version is outdated, but it's the only version currently available for use in our company). The problem is that whenever java is initialized, it automaticly redirects to Javas download site ( Download Free Java Software). What i'm thinking is that user was previously prompted with a security question that this version of java is outdated ... what do you want to do? He probably chose to download new version and perhaps there was a checkbox to automaticly remember this choice for the future. But I am not able to find any settings for this. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, check through registry (perhaps there's still something here somewhere?). Anyone else experienced the same problem?

Basically after spending 3 hours of my life trying to search what this problem could be, I concede that I just cannot run java apps on any browser. Help please. I can install the latest java (jre-6u27-windows-i586-s.exe) and it seems to finish installing fine... But when I try to test the installation and run any java appliaction on the java website, it just hangs the browser after a few seconds. Same too when I try to run a java app on any other website. Have tried repeatedly on latest Firefox *and* Opera. Have tried uninstalling and re-installing java multiple times, but still the same problem every time. Just cannot run java! Please note too the following:

I have also tried using JavaRa to delete all registry references and old strings before re-booting and trying multiple fresh installs but no matter what I do, my machine just won't run java without the browser hanging.

Also, in control panel, I tried clicking the java applet - javacpl.exe it just launches a message box on the screen, with a yellow triangle exclamation mark in the top left, with the following unintelligible message: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe -Xbootclasspath/a:"C:\Program Files (x86)\java\jre6\bin\..\lib\deploy.jar" -Duser.home="C:\Users\Administrator" com.sun.deploy.panel.ControlPanel

Win XP, SP3, EI8 (only the browser)
After my computer got infected with Java exploits, I uninstalled Java using programs add/remove option from CP. The test on Oracle indicated that my Java is not working, however yesterday the full scan with MSE found infection of CVE-2012-1723 DDL.
In addition, I noticed that file named ?Java Runtime Environment?? momentarily appeared during my full scan (I will take a screen shot or will pause scan to see more details on this).
No Java stuff shows on registry
After that I used search function and manually deleted everything related to java (except the Javscript) however I still have a suspicion that I have some older versions of Java hidden in my computer (which were not removed)
My questions are:
Is that possible that Java exploit infected computer with no Java program present?
How can I search for Java hidden files?
And Please pardon this question but it possible to get infected from Facebook, Youtube and few on-line forums which I always visited in the past using IE6 with Win 2000 and Win ME but never had problems with them)

It is likely you were infected through a Java exploit and the infection is still present on your computer. Installing Java does not necessarily remove the infection.

I'm having a bit of trouble using Java anywhere other than in a web browser. Java works fine in Firefox, I use it often, but it's been a while since I've run a standalone Java applet.

The problem is this: opening any standalone applet, even ones that worked before, simply produce a "Windows XP Critical Stop" error sound with no visual activity whatsoever. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Java many times, but it doesn't seem to change anything.

The applets work fine on an older computer with the latest Java, the same version as on the one with the problem, so it could be one of those well hidden configuration files or outdated .dll's. If you could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

So I originally started trying to deal with this problem in the Am I infected? What do I do? forum. I did not post any logs in that forum and thankfully quietman7 was very helpful in assisting me. Almost all of my issues are described in the first post here. After that first post, quietman7 suggested that either manually clean out my Java Cache or run BrowserCleaner to essentially do the same, so I did both. He also suggested that I try doing an online scan with Eset and so I did. The result of this scan found and quarantined another trojan under the description:================C:\Program Files\BitLord\Downloads\The Sims 3 - Razor1911 Final MAXSPEED\The Sims 3 - Razor1911 MAXSPEED www.torentz.3xforum.ro\The Sims 3 - Razor1911 MAXSPEED www.torentz.3xforum.ro.iso probably a variant of Win32/Hupigon.CJKIBCX trojan deleted - quarantined================I then viewed the "Preparation Guide" and began following the steps listed there:I disabled my CD Emulation software with DeFoggerI ran a DDS and RSIT log scanI ran a GMER LogHowever, I had to run the GMER log 3 different times in order for it to generate a full log. The very first time I ran it, my computer got really far into the scan, and maybe 4 and a half hours into it, my computer BlueScreened. Even though it only gave me the BSOD once, it was still a little unsettling to see. It's also important to note that I have a Windows 7 SP1 32-bit OS, so GMER should be compatible with my syste... I am a newbie in cybersecurity and this past Friday it was announced online that Java seems to contain some vulnerability that could be exploited for cyberinvasion. I tried to follow the instruction on pcmag (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2414191,00.asp)
but found that my Java control panel looks "different" from what was described. I am a little freaked out and so coming here for help.

My laptop specs:
Win 7(version 6.1) 64-bit OS

When I clicked into the Java control panel (ps. mine says Java (32-bit), don't know if this matters), I found the same panel as what pcmag described.
However, when I clicked into the security tab, instead of having a page where it displays "enable Java content in the browser" with security level bar (see pcmag article), in my security tab, I only got the following on my tab:

Certicates
Use certificates to positively identify yourself, certifications, authorities, and publishers.

And a click button "certicates".

I usually log in my computer using non-admin, so I thought this might be why the Java panel looks different. But even after I log in using admin, I saw exactly the same under admin Java secruity tab.

Questions-
1. why do I get a different "security tab"?
2. is my laptop ALREADY infected?
if yes, what should I do? (I have MS security essentials installed, and updated daily. Scanning with the security essentials found no threats)
if no, is there a way I could "restore" m... Read more

A:recent java vulnerability - i have trouble with my java

Morning seraphin - no worries, I don't suspect.

From the Java panel, check for an update - I don't believe you've got the latest version and once you do get the latest update, when you select the Security Tab the new option (to disable) will be there.

HEADS UP - when you download the latest version, be sure to un-check what ever comes bundled with it (it might be the ASK toolbar or perhaps Chrome, I can't remember).
Let me know if that works, ok?

A:Need Help removing Java/byteverify and java/classloader

Hi, The usual method is to clear the Java cache:

Open the Control Panel, and look for Java Plug-In or similar Java item, open that, find the tab that says something like "Web cache" then hit that, and find the "Clear Files" button and clear the cache.

Then run a new virus scan, nothing should be found.

For the latest version 1.5+ of the Java Runtimes, you should do it this way:
