I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a user with 3 displays. They are all VGA displays. Two with his M72E and the other another PC. We want to consolidate to one PC (Thinkcenter M72e). I dont believe the built in card can support 3 displays. Could anyone suggest an inexpensive video card that supports 3 displays for this tower. Its just for busines so no need for a high end card. Also would prefer passive if possible. M72e (core i5)https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/pd024590

We have several relatively new, unused Lenovo ThinkCentre MT-M 7373-AMU workstations that were recently donated to our senior center's home computer training center. The workstations have Windows Vista SP1 installed and are working fine under Vista. However, we are using the workstations to teach senior citizens how to operate home computers and need to install XP along with Vista in dualboot mode. Basically, these workstations will not accept Windows XP clean installs even on a dedicated hard drive. Attempts to perform a clean install of XP results in screen announcements that there are "compatibility issues" which probably have to do with the hardware configuration and/or the BIOS. Thanks.

Dear colleaguesI have obtained one of these tower systems and proceeded to open it up and the first thing I did was to remove the 160gb SATA hard drive .Foolishly I then took out the caddy (or, as I think it is called the Chassis) in which the hard drive was contained. The problem is that I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the chassis back in place. The fan that is over the processer just seems to get in the way. You have a M73.https://www.lenovoservicetraining.com/showcase?sid=1161&key=TGVuZw== You MAY have to remove the front bezel and slide the SSD in from the front bezel.Remove the retainer, wiggle the finger sized bracket. Thats what I did. I did similar SSD install a few weeks ago in my tower. Way crowded. No PSU, NO fan removal needed at all.My tower looking in after front bezel removed.Do the front bezel entry. Just remove the retainer and put it in your spare parts box.I have no idea how the training video person made it look so easy. It was not THAT easy.

Dear colleagues
I have just acquired one of these although there is a coa (windows vista business) it doesnt have an operating system. Please can anyone advise:
1. Do I install 32 bit or 64 bit Operating system- I am going to put on windows vista as it will be a legal install
2. what is the maximum memory with a vista install (presently there is 4gb - two modules.)
3. Although it comes with a 160gb sata hard drive, I wish to install an additional drive. Would I need to obtain some sort of caddy - I can't see where just a hard drive would slot  in on it's own.
4. What additional cables would I need (presently there is one hard drive and one DVD drive. I cant see any sockets that could plug into an additonal hard drive.
5. I would also consider installing a ssd drive. Would I need an adapter of some kind to get it in

From what I can gather, ATX power supplies will work. What about the motherboard?  Will it bolt into an ATX case?  Will an ATX board fit the M58 case?  Very curious!

A:Is the M58 or M58p tower an ATX design?

The tower and usff designs of the M58 and M58p are indeed micro ATX, so you can switch out the motherboard with another micro ATX one if you would like.

Hello, I had an old [but reliable] ThinkCentre M58p lying around and I recently thought of upgrading it [for a media center with a some gaming capabilties] from, some more, aging [but working] parts I have. So:1. I've replaced the Intel dual E8400 3Ghz with a quad Q9650 3Ghz [I have a 95W HSF] - Works perfectly2. Replaced the stock PSU with a 620Watts, SeaSonic - Works flawlessly3. Installed windows 10 and all the devices4. Finally, installed a EVGA GTX 770 2Gb into the PCI-E slot - This is the weird issue part Now, for the PCI-E card to get recognized during the boot, I had to switch the main output form IGD [Integrated Graphics Device] to PEG [PCI Express Graphics], and it works! The system boots up from the PCI-E slot, and with the drivers installed, everything works and looks great. Easy, or so it seems... As soon as I restart the PC there's no signal, from the PCI-E slot anymore, and in order to boot again from the PCI-E card, I have to:- pull the card out- boot the machine from the onboard VGA [no need to change the BIOS settings though]- shut down- plug the PCI-E card back in- turn it on Then it works again. Games run great, the PC is cool and quiet. Until I power it off... Each time, I have to repeat the process in order to get a signal from the PCI-E slot... Has anyone happened to come across this kind of issue and knows the cause for this? BTW, I've tried a different card [GTX 570] and the results were the same. A:Lenovo Thinkcentre M58 & M58p: yes, is compatible with GT 1030

I'm a huge fan of the GT 1030, but haven't seen any posts here on it and the M58/p.   You may be the first to try it, however the GT 1030 does work with the next gen model, M90/p (and newer), and I haven't seen a case where a GT 730 worked (on systems with PCIe ver. 2.0 -- GT 730 is known to work on M58) and the GT 1030 did not (meaning it has good backward compatibility, unlike AMD graphics cards.)  That doesn't guarantee that it will work, but there's a very high probability.  I hope that helps.

Edit:  Earlier versions of the M58 and all M57 have PCIe ver 1.1.  I would not recommending using a PCIe 3.0 card (GT 1030) in a 1.1 slot (PCIe 2.0 cards like GT 730 do work in 1.1 slots.).  Check your Intel Chipset specs to see which version is supported.

Edit 2:  I'm now thinking that all M58 had version 2.0 PCIe. M58 did have 2 generations of Intel processors, but I believe the Chipset stayed the same.

I have a ThinkCentre m58P and have tried 2 cards in the machine to no avail. One just wasnt recognised the other gave bios bleeps. I want to turn this PC into a media streamer from as NAS server and need a HDMI output compatible Graphics card for this machine? Can anyone recommend whats on the whitelist or fully functions wih the M58p?

A:ThinkCentre M58p Graphics Card Whitelist

Can't recommend a card, but just wanted to make sure you knew that you don't have to have a graphics card with an HDMI port on it. The signaling for HDMI and DVI are identical, just different connectors. I have a cable that has a male DVI connector on one end and a male HDMI connector on the other. I connect from the DVI port of an ADD-2R card directly to my TV. There are also DVI/HDMI converters that accomplish this same task using the converter and a standard HDMI cable. Check the parts listing for your machine on the support site to see which graphics cards are supported for your model.

Hi all,

My PC is :

I just bought it used and installed my old power supply (Enermax Noisetaker 420W), as the one that came with this PC sucks. I installed my old video card (x1900xtx), and it booted fine. But unfortunately it won't support Overwatch (crazy I know...).

I want to know the best possible video card I can purchase for this PC ($100-$210, I'm all about value), for gaming purposes.
I was thinking about

XFX Radeon R7 370 995MHZ 4GB Dual Dissipation GDDR5 HDMI 2XDVI PCI-EXPRESS 3.0 Video Card

, but I read some other threads related that some people's PCs wouldn't even boot with a R7 card.

My PSU does have an additional 6pin power supply.

Someone else said in another thread that the best video card could only be Nvidia 750 Ti. I hope this is not true.

Ultimately, I want to play Overwatch.

Thanks all!

There have been a few threads about the propreitary 14pin PSU connectors and that there's no aftermarket support for upgrades. But it's been a little while, and Lenovo (around the office, my staff are calling them "Le-No-No" now) hasn't change policy, or offered an upgrade.

We have just received several of these i7 PC's and they all have the useless 280w PSU's. Those are severely limiting in what video cards can be installed, as anything over 55w will knock the PSU over. That means, no decent cards. A Quadro 2000 is, at 51W, about as far as we can go.

My CDW rep has been working to find a solution for us, but without any success. So I'm bringing it to the community before I have to re-evaluate our desktop hardware choice.

Has anybody made either an adapter or a PSU that will work on the Lenovo 14-pin motherboards?

What did they think when they built this? however I did some research and found this:http://www.moddiy.com/products/IBM-Lenovo-PSU-Main-Power-24%252dPin-to-14%252dPin-Adapter-Cable-%283... Did anyone try this yet? Can it be used safe on the system? And will it do the work that it should do?

Hi all,

My PC is :

4524e3u LENOVO M91P CORPORATE TOWER CI7-2600  3.4GHZ/16GB/320GB , full tower

Thanks all!

Can someone tell me if I need to get a low profile 750ti or will a normal double-fan one do?

Hello,
Was looking for advice on running two monitors/Screens in separate rooms off of one tower..
Should I try to get two video cards, or is there a successful way to have a Split like VGA cable to run to two separate rooms, from one tower/video card?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

So it is an all-in-one, so that is already 1 monitor. On top of that I would like to add 2 more 27" monitors, making a total of 3. Is that possible? I tried it, but it doesn't recognize the 3rd. I think it might be the outlets that are screwy. The VGA doesn't seem to work well.

We just setup 6 M910q's at a client's site, and we're having so many problems getting anything on the monitors. They are older Samsung monitors, but not all the same. We've also tried a Dell and an Acer monitor. All the monitors have DV-I and VGA inputs, no DP or HDMI. We've tried different DP to VGA and DP to DV-I adapters, and all with the same result. 3 of the 6 machines were working with the DP to VGA adapters connected to the DP port closest to the power connector. When we tried to conenct a second DP to DV-I or even DP to VGA adapter to the next DP port, we either got no signal at the monitor, or the monitor would come on, flash lines of black, then lose the signal. It just cycled through that sequence. When we tried the third DP port, no signal at all on the monitors. Like I said, this was happening on 6 different M910q's, about 10 different adapters (different brands, active and passive), and 5 different monitors. We then plugged the non-working setup from the second DP to the first DP, the monitor came on with a signal. At my desk when I setup the computers, I have an older Dell monitor with only VGA and DV-I, and I had no problems with a signal. My monitor never lost the signal. Has anyone else encountered this, and if so, is there any working fix short of telling the client they need to purchase new monitors? We have USB to VGA adapters on them at the moment, which work fine, but that is by no means a fix. Just a temporary band-aid. Any suggestions would ... Read more
