Purchased a new M715Q mini and upon connecting using the display port and HDMI for video was not being recognized. I then looked at the the USB mouse and found that it was not being recognized either. Tried all USB ports and none of them recognized the mouse. I have a 3 other lenovo products M900 series and 2 laptops and they all work with monitors and mice. I also found the unit getting extremely hot where the fan kicked on 3 times and turned off. I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have an HP ZR22w monitor with three inputs: VGA, DVI, and DisplayPort. I want to hook up a computer to the DisplayPort, but my video card id HDMI out. All the cables are sold as DisplayPort source out to HDmi monitor in. Are these cables reversible?
Can you recommend the right way to hook this up? Is there a cable that exists for this situation? Do I need a combination cable/adapter?

I'm using a Dell U3415W monitor. My video card is AMD Radeon RX480. The monitor is connected via DisplayPort to my computer. The monitor is connected via HDMI to my work laptop. When I want to switch over to HDMI, it acts as if I shut off the monitor on the Displayport shifting everything over to my secondary monitor. It causes no problem, but drives me nuts because when I switch back over to DIsplayPort, I have to move my open programs around again. Is there any simple way to make this stop? If I don't use DisplayPort, and instead use HDMI/DVI combination, the behavior described does not happen. I'm guessing that is just the way it is, but I'm hoping there is an easy way to make it stop.

Hello,I've been trying for hours to connect my external monitor via HDMI cable, but neither the laptop nor the Monitor sees eachother.I updated monitor's firmware to the latest and no result. Still, my computer displays that there is nothing plugged in the HDMI port when I insert HDMI cable. The monitor sees that I have plugged in something in the HDMI port, but doesn't receive any signal from my laptop.Would you please advise if there is any solution to this specific situation? Also, be advised that even with the latest video driver downloaded from your website, I am still unable to play on OpenGL video mode. I am looking forward to your reply.  Many thanks in advance,

Just unboxed my computer from CyberpowerPC, GTX 720 graphics card, installed/updated all drivers with drivereasy (paid for just now) and I am still having the issue with HDMI port not working. I have tried to plug into a monitor and a TV, neither are working, I have also tried to use multiple HDMI cables, still does not work. My monitor has an auto-switch source availability and turned on, when I plug my computer into the monitor with HDMI it continually cycles, finds no signal and goes into sleep mode. Then rinse/repeats until I either turn off the computer, monitor or just unplug the monitor from the computer. Currently I am using a DVI(computer) to HDMI (tv) and its working fine. So I know its the port on the computer. Do I need to contact CyberpowerPC to send the computer back to get this issue resolved? Thank you for the help.

A:Brand new out of the box computer. HDMI port not working

Does the PC also have an integrated graphics processor (IGP) on the motherboard and the GTX 720 graphics card is an upgrade? If so, there might be a bios setting that will disable the IGP and use the graphics card instead.

Also, right click on the start icon, then click on device manager. Click on display adapters. Is the GTX 720 listed as the display adapter?

Bought it brand new direct from Lenovo, it has not worked correctly since day one. It is a M715Q Tiny. When computer goes to "sleep" (which it cannot actually do, it is not alive) it will not "wake up". Fan runs a full speed, and green power button just flashes off and on. Absolutely nothing will restart it except to unplug the power supply. Spent hours and hours trying to get ahold of Lenovo support, after many hours over a few days of cussing and swearing, I was able to talk to someone. They filed some sort of reapir order. The next day I was told via e-mail the part for the computer was back ordered and no release date. I purchased the thing 3 May 2017!No one ever looked at it, nothing, how do they know what's wrong with it? I've been trying for a month to get it fixed, it is almost useless! If I set it so it cannot "sleep" it seems to work, but that is not the solution!I need to use the thing a work, but can't rely on it.Any ideas? It has to be a software problem. I've done all the lenovo updates and tests, nothing works!

I bought a second hand gaming PC (i7 4770 RX480 win10) recently, the only way I can get any display to show on my monitor is through the HDMI port, it has three other display ports on the GPU, and HDMI/VGA/dvi on the motherboard.

I've checked using multiple monitors and two brand new cables and the only port that seems to send any signal is the HDMI in the graphics card.

Is this a drivers or config issue?

Hi guys, just found out this place, seems to be a good forum so I try it here.

Last night I got hold of a 27" BenQ GL2750HM, so far so good.
I have my main display from the DVI port to HDMI port on the screen and my secondary screen is my 60" TV which is connected through HDMI port on the graphic card into the HDMI port in my reciever.

The main scheme for my setup is like:

- Radeon 7970 DVI > HDMI Main monitor (BenQ GL2750)
- Radeon 7970 HDMI > HDMI Reciever (ONKYO TX-NR609)
- ONKYO TX-NR609 > 60" TV

So to the problem now.
When the HDMI cable is connected to the graphic card, I need to have my TV ON in order for my main monitor, the BenQ, to work and if I turn off the TV the BenQ is getting black, like a standby mode, however, there is "no signal" to the monitor.
This was never a problem with my other screen, I could have the HDMI cable connected to the graphic card, the TV off and the reciever OFF without the main monitor went black.

I hope I expressed myself good enough for you too understand, if not, please reply

Thanks in advance.

I have an XCPS M1730 running Windows 7. Recently the screen would go black intermittently. As I used the computer, the instances would occur more frequently and last longer until it would just stay black and not come back up at all. I can see light if I look closely and cup my hands, but no image.
The perplexing part was that when I plugged a TV in via HDMI, the screen on the computer came up too and stayed up after a couple of sputters! Dare I hope that this is software related and not too expensive to fix? Ive been reading a bunch of terrible posts about fried video cards!

I have a 6 month old Z30-A Portege i7 laptop (PT243A-0HW02X) running Windows 7 64bit, and the 13.3" 1920x1080 internal display screen is not working - nothing is displayed on the screen.

However I can connect an external monitor via the RGB cable port or to the HDMI port and still use the laptop that way.

I have tried various Function F5 Output toggles choosing Clone, External, Extend, Switch Display, but nothing works to get output back again to the laptop display screen.

On the External option I see a laptop icon in grey colour with a X on the screen, and a '1' on the other display icon, and a window appears for 'Toshiba Flash Cards' with red x error message " Failed to initialize Output Configuration dialog!".

There is no further help available to tell me what the problem is.
When I choose the Function F5 Output Configuration option, the 'Internal' line is greyed out, so I can't select it.

Has anyone else had this issue?
Could a BIOS update help to tell me if there is a hardware issue?
There is nothing about the display error in the Windows event viewer.

A:No display on Portege Z30-A screen but HDMI / RGB ports work

I have a similar problem.

When I boot up, I see the Windows 7 logo, but then everything goes black after that.

I can start the computer in safe mode and the laptop screen works no problem. In Safe Mode I can even switch to 1920x1080 resolution. So the video hardware + drivers are working, just not in normal Windows mode.

Tried reinstalling video drivers but no luck.

I also wiped the computer and reinstalled Windows 7 + video drivers and still no luck...

It started happening literally out of the blue... after six months, like yourself.

I have a Z30t-A-123.

Does anybody from Toshiba respond here or are we left to our own devices?

Just purchased a new Mobo (Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe). Haven't bought the CPU. I am waithing on the new 22nm models. After taking a close look at the display outputs on the mobo I have a choice of HDMI or Display Port. None of my existing monitors have ports for that. Soooo I guess I get a new display.

What should I be looking at as far as cables and the choice between HDMI or Display Port. I am not familiar with either one. Also I am assuming the cabling is different for the two ports.

A:Display Port or HDMI

You can find adapters to allow you to use either with DVI. If your current monitor needs replacing anyway, an HDMI-native model will be cheaper than the DP version.

It can get more complicated if you have plans for multiple monitors down the road.

I have a video card and display both with HDMI and Display Port ability.
At the present time I'm using HDMI to HDMI.

1. Can I use HDMI and Display Port using 2 cables at the same time on the same screen and is it a advantage or disadvantage?
Please explain.

2. If I just use Display Port will it work better that just HDMI?

I don't have a Display Port to Display Port cable at this time.
I will buy one if it will make things better.

I'm not having a problem at this time. I'm just trying to get the most out of my hardware.

1 monitor 1 cable

since DP and HDMI are both digital, I guess there is no advantage either way (unlike analog vs digital).

2 outputs usually means dual monitor support, although you'd have to check the manual. Dual screens is the best upgrade I've ever made, esp for my C4D work - also good for watching TV whilst surfing !

BTW although I mainly use DVI, I had to buy a HDMI lead recently to test some gear. I was surprised to see a note in the package to the effect 'warning do not hot swap this lead - power down all equipment before connecting'. Apparently there's some kinda live detecting pin that can cause probs when hot plugging.

SVGA outputs an analog signal.
HDMI is digital.

My ThinkPad laptop computer does not have an HDMI port, so in order to connect my computer to my HDTV I use an adapter plug which accepts an HDMI cable male plug (from my TV) and then plugs into my a/v display port. I've gone thru a few of these adapters because for some reason they tend to develop connection problems, like loss of the audio portion, or whatever. The current plug is shorter than my previous ones and less likely to get bent, but all of a sudden I've lost the audio transfer again and when I went to unplug and replug the adapter to make sure the connection was secure I found it was very hot. I don't recall it ever being that hot before....some heat, yes, but this was very hot. Not a good sigh....eh?

When this same audio loss has occurred in the past, unplugging and replugging the adapter has worked, turning the TV off and back on again has solved the problem on some occasions, other times it took restarting the computer. And then on some occasions the loss of TV audio was due to my receiver input setting getting accidently altered (I run my TV audio thru my receiver and into a Dolby surround sound speaker system). None of these remedies have worked this time however.

In this case I'm more concerned about the overheating issue than my loss of audio transfer. Can anyone with good technical knowledge comment on this high heat matter....should I trash this plug immediately?....can damage be done here with an overheating plug, or is some heat to... Read more

Windows detects a connected screen, and the TV detects input in that channel, but there is no image nor audio.Things I have tried already:- Updated thunderbolt firmware and drivers, and everything available from Lenovo.- Tried both intel graphics drivers from their website and the Lenovo OEM ones.- Tried a Variety of refresh rates and resolutions.- Trying the adapter In a x220 displayport: it works without problems, so the problem isn't the cable.- Testing a different, passive adapter: It works with the T480.- Numerous reboots, disconnecting the dock and everything from it, and connecting one device at a time.- Tried both displayports with each of the 4 HDMI inputs of the TV.- Thunderbolt assist mode in bios disabled. And that's all I remember from the top of my head. Any idea as to why is this happening?
