I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Welcome to the forum!Did you get Windows to recognize that "new hardware has been installed"?Let's start there...And, you have it in the appropriate spot in the A31, correct? Because the card itself is compatible...Good luck and let us know. Message Edited by ajkula66 on 09-14-2008 12:06 AM

Hello fellow board members, recently I have bought a 2nd hand T420 laptop which is an absolute super device! The previous owner left me a clean windows 10 installation. After reading up on the hardware and the upgrade options, I decided to order a bluetooth daughter card (FRU 60Y3303 60Y3305) . I installed it, but the new bluetooth does not appear in the device manager. Has anyone had succes with getting it to work? ( i have tried a usb bluetooth dongle and this works perfectly, but i want to have the usb port free for other stuff) I have tried:- enabling/disabling bluetooth in the bios I/O menu- scanning for hardware changes in the device manager- pressing fn-f5 (this turns on airplane mode, but no bluetooth)- installing fn key shortcuts- installing power manager (installation seems succesfull, but no lenovo software shows up in the startup tab of msconfig)- installing legacy device from the device manager and manually adding the broadcom drivers - installing the lenovo bluetooth drivers (install cancels because it cannot find a bluetooth device)- Turning on the bluetooth service in services.msc- removing the battery, pressing the power button 15sec, putting the battery back, resetting bios to default. I have contacted the seller of the bluetooth card, but they do not seem to know what the problem can be. I now have the choice of getting a replacement card or a refund.  Does anyone know what the problem can be?

I ordered my X220 with Bluetooth 3.0 and it is listed in the order sheet. I am now trying to use it for the first time to connect a Bluetooth mouse, but having no success. In fact, I can't find Bluetooth anywhere in the system. There is no Bluetooth in the Control Panel and I can't find it in the Device Manager. I tried installing the 6.4.0.1500 Bluetooth device drivers from the Lenovo website. Apparently it was already installed and it asked if I wanted to do a repair installation. I selected repair installation but at the end it reported "No Bluetooth device was detected. Please make sure that your Bluetooth device is plugged in properly in order to continue". Is it missing from my X220? Is there something to enable in the BIOS (I can't find anything)? Richard BTW, my system is type 4286-CTO according to ThinkVantage Tools and the sticker on the laptop. When I go to Download Drivers & Software on the Lenovo site and use Run Auto-Detect, it displays "ThinkPad X220i (4286-CTO)" (it should be X220 not X220i). If I manually select the system instead of using auto-detect, under X220 I can select 4286 but CTO is not listed.

A:X220: connecting a bluetooth 4.0 mouse

Hello,
According to the X220's hardware maintenance manual, the ThinkPad X220 contains a Bluetooth Daughter Card BDC-2.1, with FRU# (part#) of 60Y3271 or 60Y3275.  Searching on those FRU numbers reveals this page on the independent ThinkWiki site which says those cards are Bluetooth 3.0.  It also mentions that the part is likely to be swappable with a new Bluetooth 4.0 BDC card.

From looking at the details [age for the Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Mouse, it mentions Bluetooth Smart/Bluetooth 4.0 compatibility and specifically says "Bluetooth 4. enabled devices" in the System Requirements.

It is still possible that the mouse will work with the older Bluetooth 3.0 card, but just consume more power.  Or, you may need to replace the Bluetooth Daughter Card inside the X220 or use an external Bluetooth 4.0 USB adapter with it.  It would probably be best to check with Microsoft for an authoritative answer.

Hi everybody, I ran into some issues with my X220 some weeks back and have been trying to fix them to no avail. As far as I can remember I took some time a few weeks back to install the 1.40 firmware-update and also updated the battery-firmware in the same routine. I'm not sure If it was immediately afterwards (since I'm using a dock with LAN), but the wifi-card (Intel 6205) wasn't recognized by the OS anymore. No entry in the device manager! Here's what I've seen/tried so far:1) What I was firstly able ot see was that the device would sometimes show up after returning from sleep when not in the dock.2) Since I have an Ericson WWAN-card i switched mPCIe places. WWAN-card works in both slots. No recognition of the Wifi-card in both. >> So it doesn't seem to be related to mPCIe or the board.3) My guess was a faulty card, so I tried a newly-bought Intel 7260 Wifi-card in the slot.3.1) The Wifi-card must have been recognized by the BIOS, since the whitelist-fault was presented and I had to remove it to even be able to boot again.3.2) As the warranty wasn't my concern anymore anyways I flashed a whitelist-disabled version of the 1.40 firmware. As promised, I was able to boot with the 7260 card.3.3) Yet still, the card is not presented in the device manager.4) Since my Windows 7-installation had quite some time on its shoulders I reckoned that maybe another OS would be able to properly recognize the card. Hello,
I would imagine that as long as you used a USB 3.0 device which did not require external power (like a USB flash drive) or had an external power adapater (like a hard disk drive enclosure) that things would be fine.  You might want to contact the seller and ask what the maximum current is for each USB 3.0 port, and whether or not the card can supply that simultaneously for all three ports.

Hi!I have a Thinkpad X220 with the BIOS whitelist removed. I just installed a Sierra Wireless MC7304. After installing the drivers from TechShip, the card is recognized as well as the inserted SIM card. However, it says "turned off" and I can't get it to turn on.Now, I have one more detail to share. The built-in SIM card holder on my X220 got broken previously due to a NANO sim adapter trashing the connectors. With a SIM in this slot, it doesn't get recognized. To get around this problem, I have installed a SIM Card adapter for mini PCI Express modules (https://techship.com/products/sim-card-adapter-for-mini-pci-express-modules/). With this fitted to the WWAN card, the SIM gets recognized. However, I see two Cellular connections (see attached screenshot). In device manager, I also have 3 Sierra Wireless network adapters.I assume I should disable some of these adapters to get this working by looking at hardware IDs. Any idea how to identify and diable the adapter coming from the broken sim card slot?

wireless card is to "network" your computer and bluetooth is to connect "devices" wireless to your computer. (a simple explanation)

you will need something like this if your computer does not have bluetooth built in.

Hello Everyone,

I have just bought a PCMCIA Card for my new laptop. I have followed the instructions exactly on how to install but I am having a little trouble.

Having installed all the drivers and software, then inserted the card into a free slot on the side of my top and restarted, the software in the system tray is saying there is no bluetooth device installed.
I have looked in the device manager and the bluetooth card is there but in the device status section it is saying:

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.

What does this mean? The Laptop is only a week old, so i cant understand why there would be any problems with any PCMCIA Card.

Any help or ideas to what this means are greatly appriciated.
Thanks. Neil Skinner.

I am building a car PC out of an AMD E350 motherboard (link below...), which has mini PCIe & SO-DIMM slots as opposed to standard expansions & RAM. It is a simple, low power system, ideal for the application. I believe Win8 is the perfect platform for the application as well, since it works nicely with a touchscreen-oriented interface.

I bought a WiFi/bluetooth combo card off of eBay (link also below), but thus far, the WiFi isn't working. The BT works fine, but the wireless does not.

I verified that the driver is installed & working in Device Manager, but Windows does not give me the option to connect to a wireless network. In my Network Connections dialog, it only shows the wired LAN and the BT.

I am willing to accept the fact that the wireless driver is not compatible with Win8, but also wonder if it is a problem with the card?

A:Trouble with WiFi/Bluetooth card

*update*

Actually, I just double checked, and the driver is NOT installed for the Wi-Fi card. I was looking at the driver for the regular LAN controller. I was tricked because it is a MoBo integrated LAN controller, but the driver labels it as a Realtek PCIe.

I did download the driver exe from Realtek and I also tried the one from HP. Neither seems to load the WiFi functionality of this card.

Also, if it helps, the card is a Realtek branded for certain HP laptops.

I have been to advice page on Microsoft and tried their advice (http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;883258) but no joy. One thing they suggest is to try to run bthprops.cpl but that doesnt seem to have any effect except a little flutter on my laptop.

I have installed and reinstalled uninstalled reinstalled all drivers (heaps of times). I have used device manager to uninstall the device and reinstall it. I have followed instructions to the letter. Tonight I have had a look in Device Manager under Ambicom Bluetooth Device it seems to indicate a problem with IRQ and or I/O Setting. It says:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.

Under Properties it says (in a small table)

Resource Type Setting
IRQ ?
I/O Range 02F8 02FF

And

Input/Output Range 02F8 - 02FF used by:
SMC IrCC - Fast Infrared Port

In Device Manager for SMC IRCC Fast Infrared Port under Properties (again, in a small table)

Resource Type Setting
I/O Range 02F8 02FF
I/O Range 06F8 06FF
IRQ 03
DMA 03

Does that mean the IR device is... Read more

On windows 7 ultimate x64

I have a Usb wireless card.... I dont have the make and model on me at the moment but when I plug this into a USB socket, Windows 7 picks it up as a bluetooth device (with errors)

I have the drivers on CD but not sure how to install the drivers, as going into device manager thinks its looking for bluetooth drivers.

Any ideas?

A:Usb Wireless Card drivers (installing bluetooth)

Hello Carlos and welcome to the SevenForums.

Try installing the drivers when the USB Card is not connected. Often the installation asks then to connect the device. If it doesn't ask, reboot and connect the card.

My school has now only got 5ghz wireless and now my laptop doesn't see the wireless network as a result. To fix this I need to upgrade my laptops wireless single band WirelessN card to a dual band AC card with bluetooth preferrably. I don't care if it is an original HP card so long as it fits properly and works. My laptop has an I7 quad core in it, 1 gig DDR5 graphics, 4gig RAM, 15.6" screen.

Which way are you trying to send a file?
Phone to pc? Or pc to phone?
You need to make the target 'discoverable' and search from the 'source' to make a 'pair' with the target. Then find the file you want to send,(right-click) send...via..bluetooth and it will transfer.
It might be easier to get a USB cable to join phone to pc USB port.
Then open two explorer windows, and drag and drop the files across, (or copy & paste).
* Does the pc have bluetooth built-in?
