I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey guys, I have a Lenovo Ideapad IdeaPad 100 14ibd - win10 and basically im planning on formatting my laptop to get rid of all the stuff/unknown files that are terribly slowing down my ram. But im still new to this process so im wondering if using Lenovo's Onekey recovery is a good thing but then i saw the Reset this PC feature of windows is another thing. My question is, what would be the more recommended thing i should do to get my laptop to its original state just like the new windows 10, or are there any difference within those  two?PS: I got my back up files all set from this laptop to my external hd already Thank you!

Hello, I have an Ideapad z585 that's a few years old. It came pre-installed with windows 8 but I upgraded to 8.1. A few weeks ago it refused to boot up windows, giving me a screen saying "Preparing Automatic Repair" that would loop until reaching a black screen and never continuing. I took the drive out and connected it to my PC to find that (C: ) is unrecognizeable, but it recognizes the (D: ) partition that was set up on the drive when I bought the laptop. So I used some software to recover all of the files on the now not accesable (C: ) partition, put the drive back in the laptop, and tried to do a system restore with Onekey. Since I have evrything backed up I don't mind doing a factory reset. I pressed the novo button and selected "System Recovery", a loading screen popped up, and then nothing happened. It just fades to a blank screen and stays there. After doing some research, it's likely that some of the boot files and onekey files became corrupted. Is there any way to get around this and do a system restore? I was reading about obtaining a recovery disc on the Lenovo site, but it seems kind of difficult to get a hold of one in the United States. Any help is appreciated, thanks

A:Ideapad Z585 will not boot or load onekey recovery

Hi mfell15 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Try to power drain the computer by detaching the ac charger and removing the battery , pressing the power button for 12 seconds .

Attach the ac charger only and turn on using Novo button (item 6 page 2) to power on the machine . As novo menu appears choose BIOS set up and set defaults on the exit tab then save and exit.

Turn off the machine again and unplug the charger pressing again the power button for 12 seconds to drain. Place back the ac charger and turn on with the Novo button to choose System Recovery.  Use One Key Recovery from initial back up to launch the factory OEM reset . You may try this sequence 3-4 times if needed.

The OKR imager is hidden on the harddrive partition and as long as it is not corrupted or harddrive is not physically affected , we expect it to run automatically restoring it back the way it was from out of the box.

To test integrity of the harddrive , if you manage to slave the laptop's harddrive on another computer ,try running a harddrive test similar to this and this. If it passes then we are expecting that it may be an issue with either OKR imager or software issue so you can decide to just proceed with clean installation of Windows 8/8.1 directly then install remaining drivers from the support site.

I am having issues with onekey recovery because I am trying to factory reset my laptop. I have used it before without issues, but I believe it may have happened after I tried out Windows 10 but then reverted back to Windows 7. If I try to use OneKey recovery through the program, when I select the option to reformat, it just restarts my computer normally. If I try to use the onekey recovery key on the keyboard, it just turns on my computer normally. Any solutions to this issue?

Hi avraham123 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

This is the main guideline  (click highlighted link for full article) regarding corrupted partition.

If the Hidden Partition is destroyed:
If the hidden partition is destroyed or replaced hard drive, you won't be able to restore the system through Lenovo OneKey Recovery software. You need to utilize the Recovery DVD, read more from below related articles:How to recover the system to Factory settings with Recovery DiscsHow can I get a system recovery CD, DVD or USB from Lenovo
Note:
If you accidentally uninstall OneKey Recovery, you may go to D drive. Find the folder named as Drivers. Open it to find out OneKey_Recovery folder --> find setup.exe. Click on it and follow the on-screen instructions. OneKey Recovery will be reinstalled.
If you are unable to reinstall OneKey Recovery, you are recommended to contact local service provider or read How can I get a system recovery CD, DVD or USB from Lenovo for more information to get recovery media

As discussed here are suggested steps that you can also try if repair failed .
1) Make sure that recovery partition is there or not. As I said, go to Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Disk Management and check.
2) Second, When the laptop is shutdown, try pressing the NOVO button and see if the laptop starts in the recovery mode.
3) You can try to restore the laptop from you... Read more

I bought my wife an ideapad maybe a year or so ago (the exact model isn't coming to me at the moment) and she recently had it die while she was using it due to low battery. When it started up, it was having issues starting up and went stright to onekey recovery. No problem, we've used this feature before... but after the recovery, it gives me the option to restart and it loads automatically to the onekey recovery again. It has done this time and time again. I am able to boot in to bios by pressing Fn+F2 when at the lenovo splash screen but nothing in there seems to give me any help or remedy the situation. The Lenovo splash screen seems to hang for a very long time and also displays "Checking Media" in the upper left corner, reminiscent of a DOS screen. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated... Also, I have ensured that the onekey button is not stuck. It seems to click in and out of place pretty obviously. I'm at a loss!

Hi.I have an IdeaPad 310 that shipped with a 2TB HDD that I would like to replace with a 512GB SSD.After speaking with Lenovo support i was under the impression that I should be able to use OneKey recovery to create a USB recovery image, swap the drives over and use System Retore to load a factory fresh OS on my SSD. I have prepared the Recovery USB drive. I am in the process of trying to initiate the OneKey Recovery system restore. This is where i run into problems. OneKey does not pick up my USB drive recovery image.Ok - perhaps the USB drive is not configured as a bootable device. I have used DiskPart to reformat the drive to NTFS format and make the boot partition active (diskpart active). My USB drive is too large to format as FAT32...NTFS is not compatible with UEFI...(?)... So in the BIOS I have selected Boot Mode as Legacy..., Disabled UEFI... USB is enabled. Now when i run OneKey recovery --> System restore... UEFI network boot does not start up, but i receive an error that no OS was found, remove drive and restart (or words to that effect..). What next? Do i need to Format in FAT32 in order to boot from the recovery drive?

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

There is no master password, back door or CMOS clearing procedure that will remove your forgotten password.  This is due to the ease in which laptops are stolen.   To resolve the issue you have basically two options.  The first is for the Uncle to try and remember the password he used.  Please keep in mind that passwords are case sensitive and he may have use upper and lower case characters.  The second option is to replace the motherboard.

I really hope that there is someone who can help with a OneKey recovery failure.  Briefly, when Windows 10 was first launched and prior to trying it out, I used the OneKey recovery button to back up my laptop onto an external hard drive.  When I didn?t like Windows 10 I successfully restored everything to where it was by using the OneKey recovery button.  Because this worked I had no hesitation repeating the OneKey process earlier this year.  Sadly, when I pressed the Recovery button, after a few minutes the following message was displayed: ?The program cannot restore the system partition because there is not enough available space on the hard drive?.!I tried Lenovo support and was told to take the laptop to PC World, which I did, however after three weeks of trying they failed to restore the laptop too! Can anyone please help?  Because the recovery worked the first time and I was confident that it would work the second time I didn?t backup any data.  Everything is now locked on the external hard drive. Thanks in advance.

Now I'm not sure what this does exactly, but it then asked for what language I wanted to use and then username and password. And before I could type in anything, the screen turn black and no matter what I did, it wouldn't budge from there. Now I don't know if I accidentally removed windows and I don't know how to get it back. Does anyone know what options I have?

It's about 15 years of undergrad, and graduate work, not to mention all my important information and sentimental pictures and whatnot. Has anyone else had this problem? IS there a way to fi this? A:G50-80 - Can't load Windows after using OneKey Recovery

Hi Igmc,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

What Windows version came originally with the system?
Any changes in partitions previously?

Efi network (IPv4 and IPv6) message is saying that it cannot see a compatible boot device to start so it tries to search on the network. This is either a corrupt/no recognized boot software to load or a bad device/copy.

You can try to unplug the charger and remove the battery.
While turned off, press and hold the power button or 12 seconds to drain flea power.
Reseat the battery and charger and turn on the machine using the Novo button (item7 page69).
Access the BIOS set up and load defaults (FN+ F9) then save and exit (FN-F10). check how it goes.

Turn off the machine again and remove any attached devices to turn on using the Novo button.
This time, try to relaunch the factory reset using System Recovery > OKR using an initial backup.

If you encounter the same issue on the second OKR attempt then maybe consider clean installation of Windows.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Hello Lenovo Community!I own an Ideappad Z400 Touch and I had issues with trying to charge it. Obviously I turned to the forums here and I found a possible solution here. When I tried to perform a battery firmware update, it went smoothly and then suddenly turned off and had a fast flashing orange light. Obviously I knew my battery and/or charger let me down in the middle of the process. I'm kind of scared because I don't know what to do nor have the money to afford a new laptop. What most likely happened to the battery is that it got "electronically disconnected" and technically only relies on the AC adapter which now I have found out is pretty screwed up and stops charging once Windows actually boots up. Is there any way to fix this? Please help! Thank you and have a wonderful evening!

Ive been having issue with my lenovo G580 laptop. Its been stuck in a constant startup repair loop.

Using posts on this forum, ive tried to rectify the problem myself but realised its beyond me but Ive made changes using the DISKPART feature of windows at the command prompt stage, and I think ive disabled the recovery options.

Ive tried to use the onekey recovery service preinatlled onto the laptop. Usually just press the recovery button, next to the power button but pressing this now just boots into the system repair loop.

Does anyone know how I can rectify this?

A:How to re enable lenovo onekey recovery

You can try setting the recovery partition active using partition wizard boot disk, then rebooting to try one key recovery again. There should also be a way to relink recovery to the one key button.

But the factory install is an inferior install to begin with so you'd be better off doing the reinstall in the tutorial under signature picture below.

Hello guys,So I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Z400 touch that recently fell from a table and the laptop itself looks physically OK and has no dents or cracks at all, even the glass touchscreen is ok but the top part of the LCD inside appears to be cracked as there are lines and black cracks on my screen. I recently took the laptop to a Lenovo service center and they told me that they had to change both the LCD and the touch screen module (or digitizer as i have heard) as they come in a package, this costs around $300 and is not worth it since my laptop would cost around the same if sold secondhand. My question is whether there is a way to change just the LCD without changing the touch screen module as it works perfectly fine. After taking my laptop to a technician outside of Lenovo, he claims that seperating the touchscreen module from the LCD would almost always result in the touch screen cracking so it would be unusable, is this true or is it possible to keep the old touch screen module and change just the LCD? Thanks in advance

Hello. I apologize if this question has been asked before, but I read everything I could find on partitions and onekey recovery but I still do not understand the concept. I have a few questions for you.I purchased Lenovo Yoga 720 15inch version from best buy. The hard drive size is 256gb SSD. However, when I finished setting up the laptop, I noticed that my Local Drive (C) has only 192 space left. Right next to the Drive C, there is Drive D, which has 25gb space allocated by uses 1.7gb for Driver and YMC software only. There is nothing else in the drive, only drivers. As of now, after I installed all the programs necessary for me work, I have just 158gb space left in my Drive C. I would like to increase that space. I spoke to Lenovo on the phone and the guy told me that there is hidden partition in the drive for Lenovo Onekey recovery, which I do not think I need because I have done Windows reset before and successfully set up the clean format. Here are my questions for you. 1. Can I delete Drive D partition and merge it with Drive C without messing up my operating system? I have already backed up drivers from Drive D onto my external hard drive, and I would like to delete Drive D and merge it with Drive C. Please let me know if this is possible. 2. I looked for disk partition in the disk management, and it shows following:260mb Healthy (EFI System); 212.3gb (Windows C Healthy Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, Primary Partition); Lenovo (D Healthy Primary Parti... I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Z470 that had Windows 7 Home Basic and upgraded itself to Windows 10.When I want to recover to the factory state with OneKey Recovery within Windows 10 the program says that there is an error and recommends reinstalling, but it is useless. If I want to recover externally with the NOVO button it boots with the standard Windows 10 recovery procedure and I can not take it to the original state.Could Windows 10 have changed anything? How do I fix it?Thank you

I have a Lenovo g500s touch laptop with Windows 8 that is not able to boot. The error message occurs very early in the startup process says ?Your PC needs to be repaired. The application or OS couldn?t be loaded because a required file is missing or contain errors.  File: \windows\system32\winload.efi. Error code 0xc000000f. You need to use recovery tools on your installation media. ?When trying to use OneKey recovery from the initial image, the recovery seems to start with the progress eye bouncing back & forth for about the 30 seconds.  Then the status = Intializing, the current file is blank, speed = 0 Bytes/Minute, Time elapsed continues to increase, Time remaining is blank and the status bar is blank with 0%.  I have let this run for many hours and it does not change. Booting via a USB recovery drive seems to indicate the hard drive is correctly working.  From a command window bootrec/fixmbr = successful; bootrec/fixboot = successful;  bootrec/scanOS says 0 windows installations found; bootrec/rebuildbcd also says 0 windows installations found.Any suggestions to fix this problem?

A:System drive/OneKey recovery for Lenovo G500S Touch

I was shocked to see if I let it run (>12 hours) the oneKey recovery advanced past the initializing step.  It then proceeded to the recovering step and semed to restore all the files.  The whole process took about 27 hours.  Now when I boot it comes up to the Lenovo screen but does not advance any further. Dave W
