I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

What version of YMC are you using?

A new version (1.0.0.9) was posted just a few days ago: Lenovo Yoga Mode Control for Windows 10 (64-bit). Perhaps it addresses the issue with the Anniversary Release.

I bought a Lenovo Yoga Pro 3 in December and recently, it started to freeze, blue screen, and then black screen. The thing is that if I restart it a few times, it starts working perfectly again. However, that is a temporary solution, and after a few days, it black screens again. Also, sometimes, the screen freezes and the laptop restarts by itself (up to 4-5 times a day). Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it? Here is the text for the blue screen:Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you (0% complete) Here is the text for the black screen:Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed.Insert Recovery Media and Hit any Key.Then selct "Boot Manager" to choose a new Boot Devie or to Boot Recovery Media Also, what is Recovery media?

The first thing I would try is to refresh your PC.

On the Charms bar, choose Settings, then:
1. Change PC Settings
2. Update & Recovery
3. Recovery
and choose the "Refresh your PC" option. This will rebuild the Windows 8.1 operating system from files kept in a separate recovery partition on your Yoga. This option will leave your personal data', and Apps, in place, but you'll have to reinstall any traditional desktop applications. Windows will give you a list of these programs, and put it into a report for you. The link to the file will be on the Desktop at the completion of the refresh.

The "Recovery Media" is a separate bootable USB or DVD that is available from Lenovo for some of their PC products. As long as you haven't deleted the recovery partition on your Yoga 3 Pro (or your SSD storage is not faulty, and the cause of this problem), then you don't need this - you have all you need in the recovery partition.

If the "Refresh" doesn't work (perhaps the OS is too corrupted), then you'll have to try a complete reinstall of Windows 8.1 from the recovery partition. This will mean that all your data and apps/application are removed. See here for instructions on how to do it using the One Key Recovery process:

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

HI all, I had bought Lenovo Yoga 3 tablet (2 GB RAM) 16 GB 8 inch) in Dec-2016 in Bangalore INDIA. Model Number:  LENOVO YT3-850M. Andriod Marshmellow - 6.0.1 There is a problem with WIFI. It keeps dropping regularly even though tablet is within a feet distance from the WIFI router. In the WIFI menu the router name comes but if i select nothing happens and you can see that the tablet is not connected to any WIFI. The only way to temporarly solve the issue is to restart the tablet but that too lasts maybe 1 hr before the WIFI connection goes away. I saw in another thread of this community where it was suggested to do factory reset. I have done that too but the issue still exists. I have another PC and 2 mobiles which connects to the same router. So there is no problem with the router  Any suggestions how to fix?  Thanks.

This is not a question, but really a suggestion to all of you who are about to update your BIOS. Lenovo released a new BIOS version for Lenovo Yoga 720 15 inches (BIOS Update - 10 [64] - V.4MCN24WW. This update brought back fan noise and frequently operation like it was before the BIOS update (BIOS Update - 10 [64] - V.4CN23W).  So the 24th version of the update is running fans as loud as the 22nd version. No good. If you know how to fix this problem then please let me know. Please do not update your BIOS because it brings back loud fan noise. I am hoping the fan issue thing will be fixed. The reason I did not want to purchase Lenovo Yoga model because they have been notoriously known for fan noise. The problem that was fixed with the 23 version of the BIOS update seems to be back with the 24 version.

Like stated in the description. the Lenovo Yoga Control Service require 3% out of the CPU, all the time. and the only thing the service does is checking the orientation of the screen, and disable keyboard and mouse when flipped. This is absurd, especially since it drains battery constantly. I hope that this will be fixed eventually, until that time, I will turn the service off and use the computer like a regular laptop.

Hi everyone. I can see that people with other similar style Lenovo laptops (Yoga 900) complain about the same issue so was wondering if there is a solution or an optimized version of this software. I did an update of the BIOS and the Power Management driver and still a constant power usage.  Once the laptop is flipped the YMC detects it and turns off the keyboard functionality to prevent accidental presses and that is pretty much all until it flipped back and enabled. And all of this requires a constant high CPU usage? Any help would be highly appreciated. I also tried rolling back to older drivers without luck in decreasing this CPU hog usage. To put such load on a i5 6th gen CPU really implies an inferior service integration....

Less than 2 weeks after the end of my 1-year warranty, my Lenovo Yoga 920 crashed. I've used Lenovo products for years and have recommended the Yoga 920 specifically to many of my coworkers, so when I experienced a hard crash (no blue screen, just a stuck image on screen) I assumed it was something Windows/Driver related. For the past two weeks I've been on a journey to try and resolve the issue but haven't had much luck. Below is a history of what I've experienced and what I've tried:Friday, August 2nd - Computer was plugged in and on, but not being used, when I found it unresponsive. I tried turning it back on and within 1-2 minutes of booting up, it would crash again. Any image on screen would remain on screen (sometimes with visual artifacts, sometimes without) and any music that was playing would be suspended indefinitely until I hard powered off.Booting the machine in Safe Mode would allow me to use the machine for any period of time - the 1-2 minutes before crash was only experienced under normal boot upSaturday-Wednesdays - No issuesWhatever was causing my crashes all Friday (until late in the night) was not causing it for the next several days. I used this time to back up my filesI used this time to verify I was on the latest version of Windows, that my drivers were up to date, and that neither Lenovo Bridge or Lenovo Diagnostics Windows found any errors with the machine.Wednesday, August 6th - Computer was plugged in and on, but not being used, and same as before, i... After wiping the fingerprints from BIOS settings and re-programming the fingerprint sensor from the Windows Hello settings menu, it worked for a day, but then the issue with the finger print sensor crashing returned. Hi! Every time I start a game that uses the Nvidia 940m graphics card in my Yoga 700 with Windows 10, the 'Nvidia Windows kernel mode driver' crashes after a while. The fan then is at maximum and the Yoga shuts down shortly thereafter. I already installed the Intel and Nvidia graphic drivers from the Lenovo support website and tried some tricks found on the web (card always at maximum power etc.), but nothing really helps. The solution center doesn't find any problems with the nvidia card. Support says, the problem is known and they are hoping for Windows Redstone and a better nvidia driver... Anyone else here has this problem? And found a solution??Could it help to update the chipset driver and all the other drivers from the support website too? Thanx in advance,DerHuette

I booted up my Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro today, and it keeps going tablet mode during the Windows startup sequence-(he first time I booted it up after the extended waranty expired at the beginning of the month).  The keyboard lights briefly, but then goes dark and I can only login using the soft keyboard or number pad.  At times the screen will change to portrait mode, even though the unit is clearly landscape oriented, or will invert. If I open up the Lenovo vantage software it clealry showed that the keyboard light was shut off and the touchpad disabled-I could change both settings, but the keyboard still wouldn't work and the touchpad was in landscape and the screen was in portrait, so it was kind of unusable.  I have to rely on touchscreen and soft keyboard.I did a reinstall of Windows, and it worked for about an hour before reverting to tablet mode only.I have changed Settings to eliminate Tablet mode, to no avail.I tried deleting the HID driver for selecting laptop/slate indicator, but it just reinstalled on the next start-up.Hardware sensor issue or software?

I had the an issue but with Yoga 530. First of all, the system simply hanging when I try to put it to sleep or shut down. I hunted down the cause and it seems the new audio driver causing it. I used Lenovo Diagnostics Tool and checked Windows' inbuilt reliability monitor for more details and this helped me to track down what caused the problem. Unfortunately, Vantage software forced to update this driver so I had to switch off this function.

A:Spontaneous Tablet Mode w/ lenovo thinkpad s1 yoga

Hi

In my case I have a Thinkpad Yoga 14 and it took me some time to stabilize Windows 10 on it. I went updating the driver over time until it get stable.

I also have some settings similar to you, but mine (for example)  sometimes switches to tablet mode when I close the lid, but when I open it Windows change very fast to laptop mode, so it does not bother me.

I can suggest you to try to update your drivers, here are some of my tips to update the drivers on a Thinkpad when going to Windows 10.

These are some of my tips to update the drivers of your Thinkpad:

1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches
2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.
3) Try to install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows App Store, Lenovo Companion also has a "update driver search"
4) Sometimes all that software does not recognize some updated / missing driver. Check Lenovo's Support Site and search for your specific model drivers (use the full model number of your Thinkpad).

If you have more experience installing and uninstalling driver, there are some other things you can do, but those options os AS IS outside Lenovo's suggestion.
1) There is DriverEasy that offers a decent for free scanning of your device and shows you which drivers can be updated from their database.
2) According to your machine devices you have the Intel Driver Update Utility and the AMD Driver Update Utility, sometimes it can help... Read more

Hello!I've bought used Lenovo Yoga 2 13 few days ago. It had installed Windows 10 Home on it but since I didn't wanted to have any files from previous owner I've wiped entire drive and reinstalled it. Windows have taken care of all the drivers so I haven't any problems here, but I've never get to work any tablet capabilities of this laptop. To be accurate the keyboard locks out when laptop is in full tablet mode but you'll bend it just few degrees and you have turned on keyboard and touchpad again. Rotation doesn't work at all so I can forget about any modes between laptop mode and tablet mode. I've installed all the drivers, I've installed Yoga Mode Control but... it simply doesn't work at all. I have all the files, I have a YMC service that is "officially" working in the background but it doesn't do anything and turning it on and off makes no difference. I even installed Lenovo Vantage but that didn't help too. So after a week I've decided to downgrade this machine to Windows 8.1 since this laptop was made specifically for this system and there was also that Lenovo Transition software. And I did it. Now I have Windows 8.1. I've downloaded all the drivers and also the Lenovo Transition. But guess what... it doesn't work at all too. I've checked old version, then 2.0 version, then YMC again and all of them does not work at all. YMC actually "works" the same way as Windows 10 version. I have no idea what that could be. [Pressing and holding the power button only results in the PC flashing its backlit keyboard.] The battery can recharge and the PC can run on battery just as long the PC does not shut down, go to sleep, or the lid closes.Battery removal with the PC plugged in: the PC can always turn on, but when closing the lid or shutting it off, the power cord has to be unplugged and plugged back in.Additional computer information:-Windows 8.1 with updates-Installed BIOS update and Windows hotfix update from Lenovo.com

Hi.  I have a problem with my yoga 710 in tablet mode. The on screen keyboard just pops up and goes away after a secound.  Some say its a problem with Chrome. But the problems also occurs when i try to log in to windows in tablet mode. The keyboard pops up, and goes away so i cant type my passcode. If i flip the pc out of tablet mode and opens the onscreen keybord by pushing on it on the taskbar it stays open. Someone know how to fix this?
