Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 11e :Integrated Camera ( Webcam ) doesn't show up on Device Manager List

Q: Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 11e :Integrated Camera ( Webcam ) doesn't show up on Device Manager List

Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 11e :Integrated Camera ( Webcam ) doesn't show up on Device Manager List I've just recently bought a reaconditioned laptop, Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 11e (20DA) wich originally had Windows 8.1 Pro installed but sold with Windows 10 Pro installed. I've changed the HDD for a 120GB SSD (i do really recommend this) and installed from scrath Windows Pro N that automatically got updated to 1709 Anniversary version. I've also updated de BIOS firmware to avoid future issues. Aftere sorting out some minor problems, pretty common when it comes to scratch instalations on laptops, like touchpad issues, function keys, etc... that i solved using the Software and Drivers site for my laptop i found myself with the this issue: - I tried to setup and update drivers for the integrated camera ( Webcam ) and suprise....is not even listed on the Device Manager. - Can't find the section Imaging Devices on the Device Manager, this is where integrated cameras normally show up unlike the external USB Webcams wich normally show up on Camera section. -No any warning/hazard yellow triangule sign in any other ramdom device. -I tried to force the installation of the integrated camera using the Add Legacy Device option on Device Manager using Windows 10 integrated camera drivers from the Lenovo Support site but automaticly get a blue screen wich force to restart several times, start on safe mode and uninstall the integrated camera to be able to have a normal restart. - In order to discard that the issue con anything to do with the Windows 10 N installation on my new SSD from scratch y put back the original hdd with Windows 10, but the problem persists. I don't know what to do, not sure if the issue got something to do with Lenovo drivers, Windows 10, the Windows Camera App (wich it seems, in some cases...not mine to be the problem) or its just a hardware problem. Maybe the camera its just broken, not coneccted to the motherboard or who nows. I've found other users on this forum wich have installed Windows from scratch on the original HDD or a new SSD and they just find the minor issues i found on the procces (touchpad, ssd, bluetooth,etc..) but no one mentioned integrated camera problems. Thanks

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hello everyone, my problem is: my integrated camera doesn't function. I tried to install the driver, but if i start to install the driver, it never show up, that it will start to install, only that it unpacked it and after that it vanished. so i searched in my device manager, but my camera isnt shown. after hours of searching in the internet, i tried all possibilitys. 1. i tried to look, if the cable of the monitor/camera is really connected to the mainboard (my varanty is already over since 1 year) 2. i looked in my bios: the camera is enabled 3. i tried that esc+fn or other possible key-combinations to activate the camera 4. i also called the support and they told me, that i have to go to a service center, so they could maybe take a look on it, but since the varanty is not there anymore, i will have to pay. i cant remember when the last time was, that i could use my camera. but at that time it functions without problems.my system is: win 7 ultimate, 64bit i hope, you can help me.(and sorry for my bad english)best regards!

Hello, Suddenly the integrated camera of my X230 stopped working and is not showing up unter Imaging in the device manager any more. Does that mean the hardware is broken or is there a chance to fix it? Restarted several times, searched for new hardware, but it cannot be found.Regards,Marco

During the Win7-64 start up the Integrated Camera Preview Manager App some time occurs in the task panel in non-responding state. App window name is "Main (Not Responding)". Integrated Camera working properly but I need to terminate App by using Task Manager to disappear it. I have found the similar issue with W540 reported on this forum but without the solution. Does any one knows how to fix this issue? Regards,Oleg.

Hi! My mother bought this laptop a couple of years ago, and after a year and a half or so it started having problems with some software (you know how mothers are!), so she gave it to a neighbour of hers so that he would format it and reinstall Windows. Originally, the laptop came with Windows 8, and for reasons I don't know, this neighbor deleted all the HDD partitions and install Windows 7 instead; that means you have no way of performing a factory reset. From that moment on, the camera stopped working; it doesn't even appear in the device manager. All other features - audio, video, WiFi, etc. - work properly; it's just the camera which has the problem. So my mother talked to me about this, and I've been trying to solve this issue without success. I tried installing Windows 10; nothing. I tried installing Windows 8.1; nothing. I tried installing the camera drivers, but it says there's nothing to install the driver to. I've read that some people recommend an activation of the camera via BIOS, but I'm unable to find such an option in the BIOS of this computer. Others recommend a Fn + Esc sequence that, to be honest, doesn't even do anything. The thing is that I'm getting crazy with this stuff, and that's why I'm asking you people whether you can help me with this. I'll appreciate any comments regarding this. Thank you in advance!!

When I first got my Compal JFL92 4 years ago the webcam worked perfectly. About a year later I was attempting to use MSN Messenger and I was told I did not have a webcam installed, I looked in the Device Manager and I did not see it listed there at all.
Several months ago I was having BSOD's which was caused by the webcam driver I had at the time, I fixed it by deleting the driver file.
Some research on the internet suggested using a program called Device Doctor. After installing the program detected the webcam and I installed a driver for it, still nowhere to be found.
Windows Vista sp2 installed

Any help is greatly appreciated.

On an HP laptop I had used, the web cam wouldn't work until a program that used the web cam was installed.

Which program have you installed that uses the web cam?

Said program was not like Device Doctor.

I learned this by reading the support manual.

Hi guys,

I'm trying to get Realtek installed and i do manage to install it without getting a failure message or whatsoever. But the problem is that it does not work.

I installed and removed many codecs and versions of realtek, it just doesn't show in the device manager.

The only thing i see is High Definition Audio Device, and not Realtek.

How can i get realtek correctly installed??

thanks in advance.

A:Realtek doesn't show in Device Manager

You didn't fill in the system spec's. Makes it hard to figure out what you have without it.

Generally the High Definition Audio Device is the sound module. Does the sound work, just that it's not showing "RealTek"? Did it ever work? If you upgraded from XP, you need Vista/Windows 7 specific drivers, the XP drivers usually are not compatible.

(Please tell me if I'm in the wrong area of this board)

But a friend living hundreds of miles away uses XP and ran an "unasked for" Pop-Up utility that said he had computer problems because of malware or spyware some unnamed entity had installed on his computer. Unfortunately he doesn't remember the name of the "so called spyware detector/remover", but he fell for the "Warning" and ran the program to "check" his system.

Of course, as most those unrequested detect/remover programs do...it found many "so called serious" problems. But would Not "fix/clean them" unless he payed for the program.

From THAT point on, his CD-ROM wouldn't work(which it had dependably always before)....the Device Manager that it "is there" and what make/model it is....and also says that it is enabled and working properly(but it isn't working, as before). And the Icon disappeared from from the My Computer folder. I guess that program somehow did something to it, in order to force people to pay for the program to "fix it" and othe so-called problems!

Has anybody ever heard of this?
Can you help me get his CD-ROM accessable and working dependably as before? Please??

thanks,
jA--

Hey guys and gals, The sensor had been hit or miss from day one, when it worked it would sometimes take 3 presses before registering correctly. I've been using these kinds of sensors for years on my phones so I was suprised at how much effort it took to get it to work. It often wasn't avaliable to me when the laptop came out of sleep mode, or if the screen had been locked.  One day last month it stopped working completely. It isn't being detected at all in the device manager, unless it's under a differnt name now. I tried restoring from factory and seeing if I could get it back. After running all the Windows, driver, and firmware updates, it's still not present in the device manager. I went in the BIOS and checked to see that the fingerprint sensor was enabled. It was, and then I tried to delete any fingerprint data, but there wasn't any. So I'm wondering, has anyone else has had a similar issue and if there's a way I can fix this without having to RMA my otherwise kickass laptop?  Maybe the senseor is loose? Should I open her up and make sure everything's tight? I haven't unbuckled any of her fasteners yet, but if it could save me a month of being computerless while she's in the shop, I'll gladly try it.   Cheers

Hi, I got a ThinkPad E460 running Windows10 Pro.  The integrated camera was working before but when I tried to use Skype for the first time in a few months this morning, video didn't show.  Then I ran the Camera app in Win10 and it gave me the error code 0xA00F4271(0x80070005) even though it was shown as "working" in Device Manager.  The camera still doesn't work after deleting it in Device Manager and letting Win10 reinstall by itself, updating the camera driver, checking the privacy settings, etc.  I don't know if this is related or not, but the integrated mic was missing in Device Manager before I found out that the camera was not working.  I updated the audio driver and the mic started working again. Is there anything else that I can do to fix the camera?  Thanks in advance!

Some AV Security software, such as Kapersky AV, will sometimes block the camera access, so check to see if yours has such a feature. Other thing to try is to completely remove the existing camera driver to see if it has become corrupted.   In windows, just uninstalling and reinstalling will not install a clean copy, unless you make sure to check the box during the uninstall to "Delete the driver software for this device".    If left unchecked, it will just reuse the existing driver, and if already the latest version, attempts to reinstall the same driver again will not always replace all files since they already exist. Also make sure to install all of the latest Chipset drivers, or better yet, run the Lenovo's ThinkVantage System Update (TVSU) and update all of the drivers to the latest version.      Sometimes it seems to find updates that fix issues that manually updating misses.. I would hold of on any BIOS updates except as a last resort, however, since they sometimes go bad, and when they do, they go really bad and can leave your system bricked.. ThinkVantage System Update (TVSU)https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht080136 Good Luck,

Hello, I have a new T530 with Windows 8 OS. I am having trouble using the integrated camera. It functions neither in the Windows camera app nor in Skype. In both cases I get a picture with a gray background and a camera with a line through it. In Device manager, the camera does appear, is enabled, and the drivers are up to date. After looking through other threads, I tried checking whether the camera was plugged in and indeed it was. When using Skype and I set the camera to on (Skype did detect the camera), I still got the gray no camera image, but the green light on the camera itself turned on.I also tried using Fn+F6 to check settings. Lenovo settings opens, but the when I click the camera settings Icon, the screen loads a blank page that says "Camera" in the top right and has a back button (left pointing arrow) in the top left hand corner. The back button does not seem to work and I must change the window to something else in order to exit/close settings.I tried manually installing both camera drivers and "power management" ("energy management"?) drivers. Neither of this solved either of these issues. Please help me to resolve this problem. Thank you.

I would make sure that the BIOS is up to date in the system. The current BIOS for your system is 2.07 and can be found here. Also, I would ensure that the chipset drivers are up to date, and those can be found here.

Hope it helps, and let me know how it goes

Hi. I can't get the webcam to work. I got this laptop around mid June of this year. Tried to use the webcam for the first time today, Nothing. My device manager doesn't even list a camera. I tried to intall the driver (twice) to see if that would help, but as far as I can see, it's had exactly 0 effect. I downloaded the lenovo settings app, and it's not there, either. At least, I see no setting options for it. But this model of laptop supposedly has a webcam built in, and my model looks pretty much exactly like the others I see on google images, except for a circly light thing in the strip where the camera is supposed to be. I have no idea what the hardware/wiring should even look like so I can't help there. I've been at this for hours. At this point I would just buy a webcam off Amazon or something if I could be sure that the laptop would actually register it.

Hi All, Thank you. I am brand new to this forum and sincerely hope somebody smarter than me can help!!!! I just purchased a used HP 6555b Probook with a fresh COA copy of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. This laptop has an integrated webcam but i cannot get it to work. Here is what i have done: checked in Device Manager under Imaging devices and it IS there. When I select it it says it is "working properly" and I tried to update the driver and it is already up to date. I downloaded BOTH the HP Media Smart software and the YouCam software and NEITHER of them have an image from the webcam. I tried to Skype and when I go to Tools, Video it has the USB2.0 camera listed and selected but NO video. So I plugged in my old external Logitech USB camera and when I select it I DO get an image on Skype. I cannot for the life of my figure out anything else to do to get my integrated webcam to work. Oh, I also disabled it in device manager, rebooted, and then enabled it. Again it said it was "operating properly." What am I doing wrong? How can I get this to work? I really wanted to get away from an external webcam, which is why I bought this laptop - ARGGGGG! I feel like I tried everything but apparently not, what i am I missing? Thanks!!!!!

I have the same issue with my new E560 running Windows 7 Professional.  It occurs during the power on process but not always. As far as I can tell, the camera still works fine with applications requiring it's use. The Integrated Camera Preview Manager application is actually the "Monitor.exe" process in Task Manager. A search for monitor.exe shows that it is located in a few places in the system and especially in a few places in folders prefixed by AppHang_Monitor.exe_xxxxxxx.... with the dates and times the problem occured. There is a Report.wer file in each of these folders and they appear to be error message logs. There are also folders prefixed by NonCritical_Monitor.exe_.... with dates and times the problem occured.  These folders have three files - appcompat.txt, Report.wer and TabFFF1.tmp. Here is the content of one of them.  Perhaps someone can decipher what it all means ?What does this Monitor.exe do?  Is it really needed? If it is prevented from running during boot up, will it cause any problems? =======contents of sample Report.wer in AppHang_Monitor.exe...========Version=1EventType=AppHangB1EventTime=130984471809628160ReportType=3Consent=1ReportIdentifier=1ee5f200-c5a2-11e5-8847-507b9d971fd9IntegratorReportIdentifier=1ee5f201-c5a2-11e5-8847-507b9d971fd9WOW64=1Response.type=4Sig[0].Name=Application NameSig[0].Value=Monitor.exeSig[1].Name=Application VersionSig[1].Value=2.3.2.39Sig[2].Name=Application TimestampSig[2]... I usually use my camera when i conduct zoom meeting, initially everything was working perfectly but the camera starts to malfunction weeks ago. In the middle of the video conference it will just get a black screen and error message pops-up. I followed the following steps below but the problem still occurs: Updating the driver under device managerRollback the driver (Works temporarily for 15 minutes then it goes black and error message appears again) When I check the CAMERA app i get this error message : Error Code 0xA00F4246 When you check under device manager it says that camera is working and no problem are being detected. Is this issue a software issue? or  a Windows issue? Hopefully  someone can provide me Troubleshooting steps to permanently fix this. Thanks!

Hello. Today I received my new Yoga 720, specifically a 72013IKB. I am really pleased with it but I've spent quite a lot of time trying to solve a problem, unsuccessfully. When I turn on the webcam app, the camera indicator light comes on, the app opens, the icons and controls are there, but the image itself is just all black. Here's what I've tried so far: Uninstalling the EasyCamera driver and restarting to let Windows find it and reinstall the driver, downloading the driver from the support site and manually installing it, checking the Lenovo privacy settings (set to off), using Skype's settings to test video (which shows nothing, not even a black image), making sure in Windows camera settings that the camera is on, checking the F8 key to make sure it's on (icon toggles on/off, but image never appears), installing the generic Windows driver (picking the USB option from the list), manually updating the chipset driver, Fn + Esc keys to turn on camera Can anyone offer another idea? After all the time I spent setting this up, I'd hate to have to return it. Thanks!
