I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi, welcome to the forums.

Can you please post the full model number of your Thinkpad Yoga 14?
Are you using Windows 10?

I may suggest you first to try to update the Wifi drivers and maybe some other of the system driver of you Yoga.
Here are my general tips:

1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches
2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.
3) Try to install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows App Store, Lenovo Companion also has a "update driver search"
4) Sometimes all that software does not recognize some updated / missing driver. Check Lenovo's Support Site and search for your specific model drivers (use the full model number of your Thinkpad).

After that we can try a little bit more. For example I also like to test it on some other Wifi networks just to be sure it is not a compatibility issue with the Wifi Router.

Hello everyone, Yesterday I installed Windows 10 on my Thinkpad Yoga (first generation) with clean install. Everything works fine except wifi in tablet mode. Every time I twist my yoga (i.e. go into tablet mode physically) wifi stops working. When I twist against to laptop again, wifi comes back. Does everyone knows this issue? Thanks a lot for your time. Greeting from Germany

Hi Everyone! I just go my hands on a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 12 touchscreen laptop with an included digitizer.I am experiencing a weird thing with the touchsreen. (It is the full HD version with the digitizer and 10 point touch capabilities)Basically the bottom part (like 5cm from the bottom) of the touchscreen is not responsive until I touch the middle or upper part of the screen. After touching the screen somewhere else the bottom part becomes responsive again.Have you ever experienced such problem?I am currently on Windows 10 Pro and I completely updated all my drivers and also reinstalled everything including Windows but the problem still occurs.Any help would be highly appreciated!

Hello, I was hoping that someone could shed some light on this subject. When I first bought this computer the only issues that I had were that the Windows 10 settings as well as the control panel settings were not indexed properly, and would not show up when I searched for them. After performing a recovery multiple times without any luck using the built in recovery option I decided to use the Windows 10 recovery media creation tool and reinstalled Windows 10 that way. This fixed the settings indexing problem, but now I have another problem. I can't seem to get the auto-rotate feature to work at all. I have installed the drivers for my particular model of laptop through the Lenovo Support page but my screen still won't rotate when I change orientations. Any information/suggestions would be a big help. Thanks!

A:Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 14 auto-rotate problem

Hi, welcome to the forums.

I was not able yet to be sure which is the driver that manages the autorotation on Windows 10 for this TPY 14. But I think it can be good for you to install the latest driver available for it and some Lenovo tools that are utilities to manage the computer.

Here are my general tips.

1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches
2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.

Hi Rower,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

Open Device Manager and uninstall the WLAN 802.11 driver "Place a check on the Delete driver software for this device ". The hit on scan for Hardware Changes.
Delete the driver again until it does not show you a check box for deleting driver software then Restart the computer.

Now install this
Intel WLAN Driver for Windows 8.1
Then try reconnecting again.

Let us know how you get on.

I just got a brand new Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14 and the touchscreen was working great, but once I installed my Wacom Cintiq 12wx onto the laptop, the touchscreen completely stopped working. It seems like the laptop is confused on whether to use the wacom or the laptop as a tablet and I really want them to both work simultaneously. Has anyone else been able to get their laptop to work with a tablet? Any help would be greatly appreciated since this is the second thinkpad yoga 14 ive gotten since the first one did the same thing and I first assumed it was a computer issue.

I have tried my TP Y 14 with a Wacom Bamboo and I have no problem using both, the touchscreen with the Thinkpad Pen Pro and the Wacom Bamboo with his own pen.
Maybe what we can do first is try to update the Wacom drivers of your Thinkpad Yoga from the Lenovo support site of you model.

I posted a similar question earlier and people referred me to the Yoga (much appreciated).  However, I was interested in the 2.6 lb carbon version with touch screen capabilities.  Asus has a Spin 7 model that is very good at 2.65lb, but I miss the red mouse toggle in the middle of the keyboard and Asus's track pad was designed too large....causing unintended tapping.  The Yoga, while nice, is heavier than I was looking for.  The 14 inch screen is about 3.3lb? the 12 inch at 3? I thought that some of the earlier Thinkpad Carbons had touch screen and was hoping they would make a return soon.  Thanks,

Over the last few months my Thinkpad S1 Yoga has developed a habit of randomly entering tablet mode when the lid is about 90-120 degrees open, as if the lid was swung past 180 degrees. Consequently the keyboard and trackpad are disabled when this happens. Closing the lid to force the computer to sleep and then opening the lid again removes the symptom. Moving the lid past 180 degrees sometimes makes the computer go into laptop mode again, or sometimes makes the display rotate 90 degrees while staying in tablet mode. I tried to remove the sensor in Device Manager and let plugnplay rediscover it but the problem remains. So I'm guessing this is a hardware problem? For now my workaround is to keep the sensor disabled (which means no tablet mode unless I Before I tear the computer apart and start replacing parts - it's out of warranty - any thoughts? Thanks.

I'm truly at my ends dealing with this issue, and searching without luck for a fix. As stated above, I've got a 2015 era Lenovo Yoga 12 (S2?) 20DK that has been used on and off over the last 18 months. About 6 months ago it started; while flipping the screen from laptop mode to tablet mode, the screen will flicker a few times and after completing the transition to tablet the screen is off. Won't power up, nothing. Now during the act of flipping to tablet mode I can stop at certain points before folding it totally flat into tablet mode, and it will work fine (keyboard/mouse disabled, screen rotation works). There seems to be a sweet spot at about a 45 degree angle in tablet mode that it works fine. Even like that, if I even bump it a little more towards full on flipped back tablet mode, it'll shutdown. I've just been ignoring the problem for the most part but for a new job I started I need it to go into full tablet mode. Everything works fine in traditional Laptop Mode. I've tried updating the Driver, BIOS, and Windows.I've disabled the Sensor Data Service and Sensor Monitoring ServiceTried using a strong magnet on different points around bottom of bezel to "fool" any sensors Nothing is working. My gut always assumed this was hardware related due to a bad sensor of some sort but I cant find anything close to this issue using Google-Fu. Hello,  I'm having some trouble with turning on my laptop. The problem originally started when some keys on my keyboard stopped working. I cleaned the keys, restarted my laptop, tried a previous restore point and then did a hard reset after nothing worked to fix my laptop.  After hard resetting, I tried turning on my laptop and it did not turn on. So far, I've plugged in my laptop into the adaptor, plugged the adaptor directly into the wall outlet, and removed the battery and plugged in the laptop. The one thing I have noticed with my laptop is that when I plug in the adaptor, the battery and sleep lights turn on for a moment, then the sleep light turns off, and the battery light will stay on momentarily but then it will blink off after a few seconds. What else should I do? Thank you

I have a few-months old Yoga 2 11 that was working perfectly, until a few weeks ago when I went to use it in tablet mode the display screen went all out of whack. It turns the screen, but only half of it - the top half of the screen is turned and the menu bar shows up in the middle of the screen, and the bottom half looks like the screen in regular computer mode.  I've tried restarting, tried turning tablet mode off, but every time I flex it back to use as a tablet this happens, virtually making that feature unuseable. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution for it?

I have a Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 running Windows 8.1. When I attempted to update the operating system to Windows 10, there was an error (I'm not sure what exactly the error was, or what caused it, as I was not monitoring it at the time) and now the tablet will not boot to any operating system. When I turn it on it says: "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart." Then, it restarts, and loads a page that says: "Recovery // Your PC couldn't start properly. // A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed. // Error code: 0xc0000225 // You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer."

I have done some research and it appears that I will need to create a USB recovery drive, but I am not confident in exactly how to do that in a way that will work on my tablet. I am not partial to any particular operating system (between Windows 8.1 and 10), I just need a functioning tablet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Please could someone help me with a problem I have had for the last 18 months. My Z70 cannot fully obtain a good wifi signal when my router is only a few feet away.  My 13.3" HP can deliver blistering speed from the same distance. So I had to purchase Netgear Wireless-N DualBand which connects into my USB port and yes it does work. The retailer I bought it from John Lewis in UK were not at all helpful. They said they could send it away for inspection and could take up to 3 months. Now can anyone advise if there is a faulty wireless card in my machine that needs replacement, or something else maybe?  I am lost and would really appreciate some help from Lenovo  what to do.  I cant use it outside my home, it just won't connect to any wireless signal. I bought in August 2015, upgraded to Win10 and the wireless worked fine for 6 months, but gradually deterioated over time.  Thanks. Pete

A:My Z70 Lenovo Tablet can't access wifi without a wireless booster

I dont know about this tablet but the wifi in some devices is very susceptible to interference from other nearby signals (I've seens this myself on a tablet and a laptop before). Routers in the UK mostly use one of 3 channels by default (1, 6 or 11, I think) so it is not uncommon for those to get crowded. You could try installing a wifi analyser program on your laptop. (If you have another working tablet you could use that - there are good freeware programs for andoid to do it.) This will give you an indication if this might be the case for you. They often give a graphic display which is easy to read and understand. If it looks like a possibility try changing the channel your router settings to use one in a less crowded area of the spectrum. You devices may adjust to the new settings automatically, but you might need to sign into the wifi again - it varies. This can make a huge difference.

Hello folks,

I am having a super problem with my notebook, I hope someone can help...
I am a happy owner of a 1.5 years old Thinkpad Yoga. I updated to Windows 10 last year but no major issues so far. Around one month ago though, I started getting some problems with my wifi connections. Sometimes, after disconnecting (voluntarily), the wifi wouldn't reconnect at all and disabling the WiFi would make it even worse, because I wouldn't be able to enable it again and had to reboot. The wifi simply shows no networks and presents that little red "x" on its icon.
Well, last week the problem got worse. The WiFi stopped working and wouldn't get back even while rebooting.Sometimes it will get back after a reboot, in those cases it stays good and alive as far as I don't reboot and keep the device enabled.
I ultimately resetted my Windows yesterday to see if it problem would be fixed. The windows started up good, but when I started again today, the problem was there again.

Some facts:
1. I saw no particular pattern on which circumstances the problem is shown more often.
2. The device manager will show the wireless adapter sometimes, but most times won't.
3. The Bluetooth radio doesn't seem to be affected at all by this issue.
4. Updating or reinstalling the driver doesn't seem to help, although it can bring the wifi adapter back to work (until I reboot the system).

Hey Guys I'm rather confused about the pen support for the new Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 15. I've read quite a bit about it and find the information quite inconsistent. Some say it does support active pen some say it will in april and some say it doesn't. What I would like to know:A.) What kind of pen technology does the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 15 support atm?B.) Are there any changes in sight? / When? / What changes?C.) Can I write on it while resting my hand on the screen aka has it palm rejection?D.) How good is it for note taking? Can it keep up with my writing speed? Links to videos where I can actually see it being used / tested would be greatly appreciated.

A:Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 15 Active Pen

From what I know there isn't too much information out so far. But here's what I found out. First off, the current Thinkpad Yoga 14 and 15 don't support pen digitizers at all, and will not in the future.Secondly, the Toshiba Encore 2 Write apparently uses the same technology. See this thread. Here's what I know:- It's called Wacom "Active ES" as in Active Electro Static.- It's battery powered. Unlike Wacom's older technology, you need a battery in the pen.- Palm rejection is more of a driver thing and not the technology. So it works, basically.- People say it feels "different", not sure if that means better or worse.- Precision is apparently very good, perhaps even better than the older tech without battery.- Pen lag (speed) doesn't seem to be an issue. Might even be better than the older technology. Other than that I personally couldn't find any information about whatever will be built into the Thinkpad Yoga 14 and 15 Only that they call it "Active Pen" and that it will be out in April. Also that the displays will support something called "anypen" which basically means you can use any pen-shaped metal object to write on the display. But that isn't really of any interest to me because I want pressure sensitivity.

My laptop doesn't turn on anymore. Here is what I have to do to turn it on (I tried many sequence of steps, but this is the only one that works every time):-Disconnect battery and CMOS battery-Press power button ten times, then press and hold for 30 seconds-Connect power adaptor and press power button At this point, my laptop turns on, but I have to reset my time and date in BIOS (of course this is normal since I disconnected the CMOS batter). Once I turn my laptop on, my batter shows that it is charging and it is at 100%. I dual boot and both Ubuntu and Windows 8.1 show the batter charging at 100%.As soon as I unplug my AC adaptor, the laptop turns off again and I have to repeat the sequence above again to turn it on. This happens consistently. However, if I shutdown my laptop the right way without unplugging the AC adaptor at any point, it turns back on normally. This happens of both my Linux and Windows OS. What I've tried:-Uninstalling battery drivers and restarting my laptop-Updating to the latest power management drives from this Lenovo websiteI also read that some HP laptops have software issues that doesn't allow the laptop to switch from AC adaptor mode to battery mode. I believe this might be the issue I'm seeing, but I couldn't find a way to check this setting. I don't think this last detail is related, but when I shutdown Windows, I see a message saying:Closing 1 app and restartingAsusSGPLusBTServerThis app is preventing you f rom restartingAlo... A:Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14 Won't Turn On

Hi. Welcome to the forums.

I'm not sure since I haven't got this problem with my Thinkpad Yoga14 but I'm just curious if the "Emergency-reset hole" works for something on your computer, or if it does not change anything on the procedure you are doing to turn it on.

It can also be interesting if you can share the full model number of your Thinkpad Yoga 14.

Regards
