Exception Code 3221225477 Exception Address 005019A9

Q: Exception Code 3221225477 Exception Address 005019A9

I keep getting Exception Code 3221225477 with Exception Address 005019A9 on my computer when I start it up and sometimes during my use of the computer.
It just started up after I put a cannon camera photostitch program on my computer. I have deleted. Then I did all the updateds that were needed plus cleaning out my computer(defragmenting, disk clean up, removing temporary files).
I even went in and stopped programs from starting up when I turn on my computer to make it faster and to see if it was one of them that was causing the problem. It still keeps coming up. Does anyone know why this happens?

My message comes up as

Unexpected Error
An Unexpected error has occured and this application will close. Then the exception code and exception address follows.
Exception Code 3221225477 Exception Address 005019A9

But when I click on ok nothing closes and I can work on my computer. Then sometimes during the course of working on the computer, the message comes up again but again nothing closes.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any replies.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My guess is that there is a Startup entry which you need to remove. Some remain behind even when a given program may thought to have been completely uninstalled.I'd use AutoRuns for Windows - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb963902.aspx to take a look at the items listed on the Logon tab and see if any apparently relate to your troublesome program. If so, I would delete it, but you can either disable or delete that startup item.Louis

Hi there, Iím having a problem when I try to install the Virgin Media Hub to add internet security to my pc. I have taken some screen shots from my pc to show you what Iím dealing with. (See below)
An unexpected error has occurred that this application cannot recover from. It will now close.

Exception Code: 3221225477
Exception Address: 77C46FA3

I have done a lot of research on search engines about this error and a lot of people are saying it is something to do with the start up registries and that one of my previous programs hasnít been uninstalled successfully Ė even though I have deleted all files I could find about my previous internet security programs.

So, if they are correct about the start up registries being wrong I tested it and unticked everything from the start up registry. (Displayed in the image below)

I rebooted my pc and still had no luck when trying to install the virgin media program and I am still stuck with the same error.

I called up virgin media but they said the problem is on my side.

Any help would be great!

For a long time now i have been getting BSOD's, pretty much all of the time from System Service Exception and KMode Exception Not Handled. Sometimes the PC never gets to the BSOD and just freezes up and restarts. This happens at any time whether im doing nothing or on the internet, sometimes it happens before the PC can load up fully. Most of the time though it happens when i am gaming. I rebuilt most of my PC but this still carried on. The parts that i have replaces are the PSU, RAM, Graphics Card and the case as well as adding in 2 extra fans. The temperature stays withing good values. The PC also often gets stuck on the post boot screen where it says "SMART Check Capable and OK" and it will take a few minutes for it to get past this stage and carry on loading, but this doesnt happen not all the time. I have tried diagnosing this myself but i have hit a wall. I ran Seatools and the HDD failed all of the tests, however after checking the fail code this was simply because it couldnt find the serial number. The HDD then passed tests from both CrystalDiskInfo and DiskCheckup. I thought that it was either the HDD or the MB as they are the only components not to be replaced. Since HDD seems to have passed its SMART tests i am inclined to believe it is the MB. PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi Guys,

I'm a composer working on a deadline and have started to experience quite intermittent BSOD's.
It appears to happen at higher system loads.
I'm reasonably experienced in building custom machines (this is my third on), and so far have never experienced issues with them.
This current one is a racked i7 3930K Hexacore on a Sabertooth x79, with 32gb of Ramm and a GTX470.
I'm using Nuendo 6 in 64 bit mode (Cubase's bigger brother) with an RME Fireface 800.
The fireface runs via firewire and has its own pcie card for this.
In addition there is an external G-tech drive connected via Esata.

In the last week I've been having 1-3 bsod's a day..a real productivity killer and I hope someone can help me out. I've used Whocrashed to at least get an indication of what it might be, but I don't have much experience with minidumps.

The only thing that I have noticed is that Windows is attempting a surface scan during startup, which fails due to a 'recently installed software package' I have no idea what that might be.
I've not been able to do a diskchk on C:
Regardless, C: seems to work fine and I've not noticed any issues.

Drivers are pretty much up to date.

I'm attaching a dump, would someone mind having a look and giving me a clue? Thanks in advance!

Having problems with my computer running Windows XP Pro 2002 SP3. Had a virus that attacked a different computer on our network and ran Malwarebytes, Spybot and Avast. All scans came up clean. If I leave the computer for awhile (several hours) my "All Programs" list goes away, the list of recently used applications is gone and if I try to do a Shutdown or Restart it comes back that "I am not authorized to do that". I am now also getting exception errors:
"exception unknown software exception (0xc00000fd) occurred in the application at location 0x01006a25" and "explorer.exe application failed to initialize properly (0xc000012d)". In an effort to try stop antivirus programs from conflicting with each other, I uninstalled malwarebytes and have avast running in resident and Spybot not in resident but demand only. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not really sure what's up with that at all -- the exception just points to a resource conflict of some kind.

Why not go to the card vendor's site and download the latest drivers from there and run the setup off the hard drive?

Hi all,

I have this game and I like it a lot, but after playing some hours with it it frequently crashes under Windows7. It worked well under XP and Vista. Usually when I am about to win the kingdoms of the map, the computer cheats and quits with access violation. I already set the Windows7 ignore access violation from this particular software but it does not want to listen to me. The company neither responds to my asking for help nor disponibilizes a patch. I bet this is a dead case but there might be some clever computer gurus out there who can figure out something?
Thanx anyway

When searching the web I find that most versions of this game were released in early 2007. I'd have to wonder if the game was compatible with Win7 (and maybe not even with Vista).

I would contact the game manufacturer to see if there is a patch or an adaptation to make the game work with Windows7

I'm just guessing here, but try keeping Task Manager open to the Processes tab (on your Desktop).
Then make the system freeze and see if there's any issues.
Here's detailed instructions on how to setup Task Manager for this task:

Task Manager:
Also, you can monitor the system for excessive resource consumption. To do this, open up Task Manager by right clicking on the Task Bar.
Then select the Processes tab.
Then select the "Show processes from all users" button (in the lower left)
Then select the View menu item, then select "Select columns"
In the Select columns window, place checkmarks next to I/O Reads and I/O Other.
Click OK to accept the changes.
Resize the Task Manager window so you can see the most of the columns.
Wait for the system to freeze.
Look at all of the columns to see if there's anything that looks excessively high - if so, let us know the Image name of the process.
FWIW - System Idle Process is supposed to have high CPU readings - anything else with high CPU readings is an issue.

From your description, the zzz.exe application?s issue should be more related to the incorrect permission not compatibility. For this type problem, please configure the correct permission of the user account.

If some applications can run properly in the previous system but failed in Windows 7, it is the compatibility issue. We can try to launch it as compatibility mode or test it in

Everything was going great until I hit a roadblock in trying to run RootRepeal. The program downloads but I get an Exception Address: 0x004eca19 and then it stops.

A couple of days ago my computer got hit by Windows PC Defender and now my searches get redirected. On the HiJack This log I have 100 of the files 01 Hosts and I ran Hijack this on 9/2/09 and these did not show up.

I ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.41 on 9/23/09 and two registry keys showed infected - one by Adware.Gamevance (one of my grandkids downloaded Gamevance without my permission and I took it off) and the other Rogue.Intaller. Both quaranteed and deleted successfully (per the software)

Several weeks ago my cursor began jumping all over the screen and I tried some of the fixes suggested but nothing works. Have wireless mouse. I ran scans with AVG and Spybot and Adaware and the cleaning tools at Trend Micro and nothing came up except cookies. I do automatic Windows updates. The cursor problem began after I downloaded IE8.

Can you help me? Thanks

I am trying to block SMB 445 incoming requests using Windows Firewall. I have configured Inbound rule to allow only specific IP address to connect through SMB and access shared folder but the rule is not working. It allows other computers to connect and
access the shared folder.
For example:
There are 3 computers: Win7-01; Win7-02; Win7-03
Win7-01 has shared folder that should be accessible only by Win7-02 and not by Win7-03
Steps carried out:
1. Created inbound firewall rule on Win7-01 to allow SMB port TCP 445 to be accessed by IP address of Win7-02 (Under Scope tab of firewall rule)
2. Configured rule to Block (Default) connections - (this allows only rules with exceptions)
3. Allowed only Win7-02 hostname to access Win7-01 (Under Computer tab
4. Configured same settings for default rule - 'File and Printer Sharing (SMB-In)
But the shared folder is accessible from both machines Win7-02 and Win7-03
Please suggest if any other configuration is required to be done
Even if I reverse the above configuration to allow or block any of the other PC the firewall rule doesnt work at all. It allows any computer to access shared folder on Win7-01
Appreciate your help to resolve this issue.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

While playing through song files in Sonar, thus triggering MIDI to ShowXpress, I get ControlBoard.exe APPCRASH errors. Sometimes I can go 1/2 hour. Sometimes not even one song.

my Qt application cashed in a Windows7 Professional. Below you find the error log. It claims that the Module "C:\Windows\system32\MSVCR110.dll" generated the error but there is not the "MSVCR110.dll"  under the folder "C:\Windows\system32\"
Any tips would be much appreciated

Hey everyone,

About three weeks ago i started having problems with java.
I removed the old builds with JavaRa.
After that i went to the Control Panel, where i removed some builds that JavaRa didn't detect.
I've set the JDK path in the PATH system variable.
In the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment, the "currentversion" variable is 1.8.
But everytime i start, for example, Minecraft, i get this:

Hello and thanks for reading,

I have been having issues playing games with my PC. It does, however, seem to only happen with graphically intensive games. As far as my computer knowledge, I consider myself above average but definitely not an expert. I have read many threads and performed all of the suggested fixes to no avail. I finally decided to post my own thread. I have noticed that most, but not all, of my crashes have the c0000005 exception code. Sometimes I will just get CTD "(Program) has stopped working..."

I have:
Ran sfc /scannow
Ran disc scan
Ran Registry cleaner
Ran driver scanner
Updated all drivers (audio, video, Bios, etc)
Rolled back video drivers to older version
Ran Malware software
Ran Antivirus scan
Tried playing with all background programs closed
Tried playing with all services except microsoft ones turned off
Removed all browser plug-ins
Tried playing with Antivirus/firewall off

And heres the craziest thing, I got so fed up that I even completely reinstalled Windows on my HD, starting new and fresh. Installed my latest game (Guild Wars 2), was able to play a few hours but then...crash. This is starting to make me think its a Hardware issue, or Nvidia's drivers are simply no good.

On the hardware side, I have:
Visually inspected all circuits and connections
Inspected CPU pins
Ran Memtest 86+ on each stick individually, then again with all 4 sticks in overnight. There were no problems detected.

Interestingly enough, when I was doing the sti... Read more

This problem falls under the old vaudeville joke "Doc, it hurts when I do this / well then don't do this"...

Last night, for the second time in about a month, I got a BSOD during my normal restart Windows sequence I do at the end of the night (the BSOD occurs after the programs close, the screen blacks, then a normal Windows screen appears saying "Windows is shutting down").

I discovered it this morning and was in a rush, so I just turned the computer off and restarted it, figuring the details would be logged in the event viewer.

They weren't. No record of any abnormalities in the past hour, day, week, etc.

Just for grins though, I looked at other parts of the event viewer that I usually skip (normally I look at the main summary screen, and the System Log under Windows Logs, and nothing else).

Everything went fine, but when I went to the Application log under Windows Logs, I got "MMC has detected an error in a snap-in and will unload it" (a popup Windows error message).

The specific error is listed as "Unhandled exception in Managed Code Snap-In" and comes up in a window mentioning FX:{b05566ad-fe9c-4363-be05-7a4cbb7cb510} - "Value was either too large or too small for an Int64" - Exception Type "System.OverflowException" and then this:

A:An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.

The 'icons' you see are shortcuts to error logs generated by Oracle Java. If you search on Google using 'hs_err_pid 3640' you will find lots of entries about this type of error but, when I looked briefly, there was no single 'fix' being mentioned because there probably isn't one.

In themselves they don't appear to be serious but they may be a symptom of whatever is causing your slowdown rather than the single cause of it. I'm not smart enough to advise you about dealing with such general problems but there are a few things you can do until someone else joins in.

Firstly, the log you quoted is referring to something that happened on 30th December last year. If you installed a new program around then (a Christmas present?), try uninstalling it and see if things improve. Secondly, the log shows that you have (or had) a very old version of Java installed (1.4.2) whereas the latest is 1.6.30. Malware writers target old versions of plugins etc. so you should go into Add/Remove and uninstall any java versions older than 1.6.30 (they will be listed as 'Java(TM) x Update xx').

If you don't already have 1.6.30, go here; http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and get the Windows Offline version, making sure that you deselect any 'extras' you are offerred, unless you actually want them of course!

Hello all,

First time poster. I've got a new install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on new hardware - a Foxconn motherboard replacing an older faulty EVGA motherboard. Since install, I've had several explorer.exe crashes, and a few bluescreens.

SFC /scannow came back clean. A basic memory test (windows internal test from boot) also came back clean. Running full disk check after posting this.

These crashes were caused by memory corruption/exception (probably a driver).
Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!

If you have raid > update its Driver.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

Driver verifier

Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you c... Read more

Hi, I've had this problem for about 2 months now and I've looked in just about every corner of the interwebs for SOME kind of fix... to no avail. I've noticed that this problem has been posted here a few times too, but never really been fully diagnosed. (From the threads I've read through.)

So, before I go any further, I have run various diagnostic tests on my Hardware and found no errors. All my drivers are fully up to date. I've rolled back to older versions of drivers that I *know* work and they don't make any difference. I've swapped out my graphics card for a different one with no difference. I've swept my registry, and drivers before reinstalling. I've changed HDDs.

I'm not getting any BSOD. Every time I run a game, any game, it runs for anywhere from 5 to 30 mins before the program crashes with a general '***.exe has stopped working, do you wish to close it' error. Every single error report contains the same line 'Exception Code: c0000005'. I know this is a memory error, but according to my memtests, there is no problem. The only thing I have not swapped out is my RAM, which I have seen in some places as being a possible cause. It can't be the memory on the Graphic card as the same problem occurred after changing to a brand new card.

This crept up on me. Before the problem began, there were no updates (game or drivers) for weeks. Absolutely no hardware changes. No software changes. No changes in anything whatsoever. Then one day every game I played crashed.

A:C000005 Exception Code crash on all Games

These can be due to registry damage due to using registry cleaners. You say no hardware or software changes were made, but were you using a registry cleaner at the time. I saw that you mentioned sweeping the registry after uninstalling and re-installing games, so that leads me to wonder if your games and Windows software are damaged due to such activity. Many of us on the forums actually do not recommend automated optimization tools for Windows 7. Windows 7 does a much better job of handling its own optimization than its predecessors did. We especially do not recommend registry cleaning as an "optimization" step because automated registry cleaning causes more harm to the registry than it actually repairs.

In the future, if you need help optimizing Windows 7, please post a thread in Performance & Maintenance - Windows 7 Forums or follow the tutorial enclosed in that forum to Optimize Windows 7.

1.After fiddling with some probably virus infected files, lots of programs close with the c0000005 exception error. This is most likely caused by a virus I presume, but its affecting lots of program exes. I assume it is a hacked windows dll causing a buffer overrun, but i'm still very new to assembly and dont know how this would react. I'll post some example errors below.

2.Any program that requires access to the internet is not getting through : I noticed firefox would no longer open any addresses. If I typed in an address that was valid, nothing would happen. If I typed in something invalid, firefox returned a "xxx" could not be found. Any applications wishing access to the internet are not working, I assume my outgoing or incoming UDP has been blocked as well

I appreciate any help on the above problems.

Anyone here know why Explorer.exe or Windows Explorer would crash almost daily with an Exception Code 0xc0000005? It is usually when I am open/closing/editing/deleting/moving images files, usually when it is one at a time because I use a png of a character in a folder with many png files, edit it with a background, and save as jpg elsewhere. Then I delete the png used. and move the backgound (if I haven't used it before) to my backgrounds folder. doing this tedious one at a time movement will cause Explorer.exe to crash

When system errors are present, it can be due to one of three causes: System file corruption.
Faulting hardware.
An underlying driver problem conflicting with the system.
Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker to check for system file corruption.

Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. These you may want to run overnight since they take a long time to complete.

Then follow the http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html so we can help you as the information you provided was too vague to determine other possible causes.

Also, look at the post I just made for someone with a similar problem in: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...-anything.html

I recently had my computer freeze up and had to be hard reset. Since then, my spooler service crashes every minute and stays down. Restarting it just causes it to crash again. I've tried a variety of things: verifying RPC is running, deleting files from system32/spool/printers,
running sfc /scannow. I would delete my existing printers, but since the spooler isn't running I can't seem to. I even tried removing them from the registry but it still crashes.

I've even had this issue persist between physical computers, leading me to believe there's an issue with one of the programs I have installed, but I don't have enough information to know which.

I get these events every time the spooler crashes:

Whenever I watch a video on full-screen mode (Youtube or local files) the computer enters the blue screen mode with the stop code: SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION and 'what failed: ddkmd.sys'. I did reinstall the thinkpad-edition graphic driver downloaded from Lenovo. The problem still persists. The device is a 3-day-old X280.

Pleased to inform that I have not been encountering Windows Explorer crashes or shut downs - at least since after my last post in sevenforums. In fact I tried to check if the problem is occuring again by 1) clicking the 'Explorer' icon on the taskbar. 2) Open folder hierarchy- as for me it is set to open automatically by changing the settings. 3) Right click a folder (e.g. C:\Program Files) a context menu should come out. 4) Click: 'Open in new window'. 5) Click the contents of a folder.. if it is .wma, Media Player should open.

I have done these and no error message or crash has appeared. Also have tried multiple times in several weeks.

I keep seeing this crash to desktop c0000005 code after the logo credits. After a clean install of WIN7 to resolve another problem i'm getting this error now. Lol I know for a fact it has nothing to do with my video card or drivers.

Games installed since Win7-reload that work:

A:Non BSOD, APPCRASH:DKII.exe, Exception Code:c0000005

Does DKII.exe belong to Dungeon Keeper II? There's quite a few threads on other forums, suggesting the game isn't compatible with Windows 7.
