Hello everyone. I'm thinking of purchasing a T470 and it appears that it comes with a 3 year onsite warranty as standard here in the UK (with the student discount anyway). My main question is that will I be able to make warranty claims even if I'm not in the UK? I'm going to be going to China in August and I'll be there for a good 10 months (maybe more) so I want to know if I'll be able to make warranty claims there. Going along with that, if I am able to make warranty claims in China, will I have to make the claim in Chinese to Lenovo China, and what is the chance that the technician speaks English (especially in a second tier city)? I'd say my Mandarin is "OK" at the moment but I know very few computer related terms. I think I could just about get by with what I know and the dictionary app on my phone, a roommate helping, or someone in the International Students office helping over the phone, but I'd feel much better having making the claim and talking to the technician in English if possible. Finally, I'll probably buy some RAM and a SSD from Amazon if the price is significantly cheaper than Lenovo. Will I have any problems with this if I need to make a warranty claim? Thanks in advance!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

HiThe fan of my less-than-half-a-year-old T470 suddenly began to emit strange noise and I went to a local service provider in CA. My laptop was bought in Russia with a 3-year international warranty. The service provider told me that he might have to send it back to Russia, and they will consult with Lenovo within a week. That is a huge surprise for me, as shipping it back and forth might take a long time. Can I somehow request to repair my laptop inside the US and is there any opportunity to claim a temporary replacement for the time the laptop is being repaired?Thanks

I contacted Asus support for warranty claims for a friend as his motherboard was faulty and was within the warranty period. But there was no response might be the email on which I contacted was wrong in a similar case Intel had given a very prompt response can some one tell me where can I get the contact info as the email given on their website was non responsive.

I raised this thread because when I went to the shopkeeper it was very very difficult for me to make him understand the BSOD ,STOP screen error which after reading memory dump I came at a conclusion was a motherboard error and the service personal in India at Priya were not convinced even though I had changed motherboard so I wanted to know the procedure.

So I, like many xbox360 owners am now experiencing the infamous red ring of death, the wrinkle: I bought mine on ebay. Now, when I bought it I also signed up for a one year warranty through a company called Square Trade. I remember reading that often times they will simply issue you a check, but if they think they can fix it they'll ask you to send it in; I don't wanna send it in because I partially opened it (thinking for a moment that I might be able to fix it but then deciding otherwise) and in so doing this broke the warranty seal. How should I word my description of what happened so they will think they cannot fix it?

I bought my laptop in July 2017 from the US. It's 13-inch Dell XPS 13.  Last month I started having issues with my screen. The screen flickered and intermittently blackout. I tried to resolve the issue by using Dell support assist system tests. It said that everything was in order all the hardware and software.
However, the issue got worse and I am unable to carry on with my work. When I contacted Dell support team Spain they asked me to transfer the warranty to Spain because I bought the laptop in the US. I filled that form and didn't receive any confirmation email that the process has been completed. The technical support in Spain cannot move ahead unless the warranty has been transferred. Which I don't know. I wrote two emails to dell support haven't received a single reply instead I keep getting the promotional email.
I had a chat twice with the technical support they tell you what they want to tell you without listening to the issue and end the discussion when they want to. It has been almost two weeks and my issue is still pending. Irrespective of the fact that due to this fault my work has been affected, this is highly disrespectful on Dell's part.

A:Poor Technical Support and Warranty Claim

The warranty can only be transferred if:
1.  The system is sold in Spain (if it's not, no support).
2.  The system was purchased with an upgrade to onsite service at extra cost (or you buy that upgrade before transferring).
3.  You are the registered owner of the system (this can cause problems if the system was purchased other than direct from Dell, or a Dell-authorized seller).  If the system was purchased from a third party, Amazon storefront, etc. -- contact the seller for the information you'll need to transfer the ownership).

A:warranty claim in India for Laptop bought in Dubai

First -- there are no "Dell representatives" in Dubai -- all systems there are sold through resellers, not Dell.
You must:
1.  Have purchased (or now purchase) an onsite service plan - from Dell.  Basic depot warranty (and any Dubai reseller warranty) will not transfer.
2.  The system model you purchased MUST be sold in India.
3.  You must transfer your ownership of the system with Dell:
www.dell.com/.../warranty-and-ownership-transfer
In all likelihood you'll need to start with the reseller from whom you purchased.

I purchased a Yoga 720 15" 2in1 three weeks ago and I am trying to decide if, when, and the type of warranty extentions I should get.I can add the " products " to the cart but I can not find the small print anywhere.  IF I decide to get additional coverage I would likely go for the maximum available but I want to know what the coverage is prior to purchasing it. Hello, I recently purchased Lenovo Flex 5 (14") laptop (Part Number:  80XA0011US). This comes with 16.0GB DDR4 2133 MHz and 1TB 5400 RPM+128GB PCIe SSD.  I have 3 questions: 1) I am hoping I like the laptop. If for some reason, I want to return it, how many days I have? I bought a Dell Inspiron 15 5567 on 2/01/2017 from Reliance Digital Store Pune. Dell support assist shows that my warranty started on 14/09/2016 and will end on 14/09/2017. As far as I know warranty should start from the date of purchase on the invoice. So I searched a little bit and got to know about the ownership transfer process. I did that 15 days ago but still haven't received any notification regarding the same. Can you guys please help regarding this process. I don't know what to do now as my warranty will end in 12 days.

If the ownership transfer doesn't go through, contact the seller to find out why - if the system was originally sold through a grey market channel, you can indeed have transfer issues - your seller should be able to tell you.

I have purchased one Dell Vostro 3546 series laptop 2 days back i.e 4th June 2015. When I checked the Warranty details for my laptop (tag <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>) it shows that the warranty will expire on 24-Dec-15 which is less than 6 months whereas the Dell provides the 15 months warranty for this laptop.
It shows that the product is shipped on 24-Sep-14 and thus the warranty will expire on 24-Dec-15 but how come the warranty will expire when the product was not at all purchased by customer.
I have purchased this laptop from authorized dealer under the bill from Nehru Place and request you to please let me know the solution for my problem.

It seems Lenovo just rolled out new plans for  Thinkpad customer to choose their warranty add-ons. It moved from old optional plans with different extent of bundled products (e.g. ADP, KYD, Sealed battery) into an a-la-carte item model for the customer to choose. I compare Lenovo online sales website in HK, JP, SG and US and have the following findings: 1. Not all countries have rolled out the new warranty options scheme yet (e.g. Lenovo HK and Lenovo JP is still using old "bundled" warranty plan option) 2. Inconsistencies on the choice of additional warranty services available for Thinkpad customers (For Levono SG, Seal Battery, Keep Your Drive are not available as add-ons if the customer chooses Depot Warranty plan, while Lenovo US offers these add-ons to both Depot and Onsite Warranty. Meanwhile, Lenovo US customer need to buy an add-on for international warranty but Lenovo HK, SG offers the international warranty to all new Thinkpads they sold. 3. Lack of transparency on warranty add-on pricing. I noted Lenovo SG priced Seal Battery Add-on for T480s at SGD330 but same Add ons in Lenovo US is only quoted at USD$26. Can Lenovo explain why such discrepencies happen? And welcome you all share your findings on the Thinkpad warranty add-on offerings in your home country.

I bought a Lenov Ideapad 510 15IKB on 14th April 2017. Now I'm facing 2 issues with the warranty registration and warranty upgrade: Issue#1On April 16th I registered the base warranty of my product as it should start from the purchase date of my product. After few email conversations for purchase proof, finally on 3rd May, I received email confirming the base warranty registration of my product. It was starting from 14th April 2017 and ending on 13th April 2018. I checked the same on lenovo website. Hi,

I am wondering if i should post this or not?
But, my son's computer decided to take on a life of it's own and try to increase my electricity bill.
What happened was that i plugged it into the wall socket as usual, and then i got a big blue flash from around the plug, a bang from the computer main case itself, and a small puff of smoke from the top ventilation fan.

I have now got to take it to someone for an inspection, for insurance purposes.
To see if it can be either repaired or scrapped.
But, the place i asked about it today. Said that they are prepared to inspect the computer, and supply the report for the insurance company.
But, seeing as it's an Athlon 600 processor based system, and it has one of the smaller motherboards.
Is it worth accepting that it can be repaired, and continue using the system as it is.
Or should i go for a totally new computer?

Especially, as my son uses the computer for mainly gaming, and i am in two minds over this issue.
The bad part of me is saying, stuff it and get a better computer for him, but i am worried about what could happen to me about this issue?

Right now, I have a decent rig, but it uses integrated AGP-accelarated video (32MB DDR). I also have an unoccupied AGP slot, so I'm thinking of upgrading the video card. The GeForce4 MX is dirt cheap right now, and it has double the video memory as my current card. Still, I've heard criticism that the card is passe, and it will be obsolete very soon.

What else is out there in the sub-$100 price bracket? Thanks.

I bought a lenevo ideapad 100 laptop, and its on waranty  period..  i was using the laptop ( it was charging too) and sunddenly it went off.  After that it won't boot. i went to shop from where i have bought, and said them to look that. they said due to high voltage motherboard is damaged. It can't be repair, and company don't give waranty on this case....I just want to know do company give the warranty claim or not ??
