HTTP 500 Server Error

Q: HTTP 500 Server Error

I had msn as my homepage but cannot access it now after downloading the new msn (with the butterfly). So I uninstalled it and thought I could get msn back, but no luck. The page cannot be displayed!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey guys, having trouble getting XP to Update, well it did Update MSRT and failed on Flash as usual because I removed Flash.  The only thing I can think of that I changed was my Router settings to more aggressive, but it has not affected Windows 7?

This is the ms document on it: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/883820

I tried all the stuff they say there but none works.  I have SP3.

I am also being sent to this site, which don't look like it should.

I think my pc has some real major problems and im ready to throw it out the window.

Recently it has just stopped allowing me to google search. If I know the web page I can go directly to the address bar and type it in but if I tried to search that same address in google or any other search engine I get the above error. I honestly think this pc has been infected by something. I have completely uninstalled msn, mind you the kids are not happy by that move but I just have no idea what is wrong with our computer anymore.

I have tried using these programs to fix the issues and I use AVG anti virus protection:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
Dr.Web CureIt!?

If you have any advice for me other than chucking it out the window, please let me know!!!

Hi all,
I am running a small business server 2003. I am getting a HTTP error 401 when I try to bring up the configure backup option in server management. The program is asking for a login and password. I have given it a valid login and password and the request window for login and password continues to appear. After times it fails with an ASP.NET error and at the end of the error states HTTP error 401.
Look where it suggested ie, Microsft KB and IIS help. Still can't seem to find a solution. The only thing I can remember doing prior to this error appearing was setting up a FTP Server.

Any and all help would be appreciated

I've been an active member on a design forum for the past year with the same username and password. This is what's happening now --

I go to the website, type in my username and password then click the Submit button. The page starts loading and then I get this: HTTP 500 Internal Server Error. I kept refreshing but still got the page error. The owner, administrators and developers had no clue why that popped up all of a sudden, so they checked my browser settings, upgraded Firefox, deleted cookies, cache and history.

I then went back to the site to try and log in again and noticed I was online. I tried to navigate through the site and access my account but couldn't. It was like I was there but wasn't. The Sign In button was still showing as if I wasn't online and hadn't log in at-all.

I thought maybe it was my computer doing something on its own so I created a new account and password. The new username and password logged me on successfully.

My question is... why am I not able to log in on my original ID and password but can login using the new one. Some really weird stuff going on.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I can log into my secure site then when trying to go beyond that, it seems to take along time ("timeout"?) to get to the next secure page. When it finally does I click to access my personal files and instantly I get the error message. I have tried to figure out when this started but it has been a while since trying to access this site. I have read that update 831167 for ie6 corrects this. I have ie7 and cannot put that update in as I get warnings that I don't have ie6 sp1 installed. Also, I have reset the settings in security and enabled all cookies.
Also, I have tried the microsoft "fix it" for the registry and needed to use my XP CD. Still not working. This is bugging me as I was able to use this site 6 months ago.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

- I have tried disabling Firewall, adding Inbound/Outbound rules to ensure that port 80 is not locked.
- No anti virus.

- After this I tried installing ISS on this mahcine and configured everything. again http://localhost shows IIS page but when I am trying to aceess it through internet no response.

Hi. I have had this problem for many months now and have tried to remove the infection manually using instructions found on ehow, using Norton Antivirus, malwarebytes and spybot search and destroy. Nothing has been successful at removing it. I have just been using my laptop instead of my desktop because I don't want to use an infected computer. The computer is running Windows XP Professional SP3. I receive notifications from Norton that an intrusion attempt has been blocked. When I go into the log, I found that there were three high risk log entries, one for HTTP Tide Serv Request2, one for HTTP CrimePack Activity 1, and one for HTTP Nukesploit Request. As I mentioned this has been going on for months now. At the beginning it was mostly just HTTP Tide Serv Request2, the other two are new today. I'm hoping you can help me, otherwise I'm going to have to reinstall Windows, which I'd like to avoid doing. I hope I have included enough background. My scans are below and attached. Okay, before I start, I'm just going to apologize for my complete lacking in computer knowledge. I'm not sure where to post this...

Well, i wasn't having this issue before but I am now and I don't know why, but I can't do certain things on the internet, such as signing into my yahoo messenger or getting on my myspace account. When I troubleshoot it always comes up with something to do with my HTTP connection or my proxy server. Yahoo messenger told me to go into my Internet Options>Connections>LAN Settings and then to check the box saying 'use a proxy server for your LAN' and then click on advanced and verify my address and port. But there is nothing in any of those boxes. I have not messed with or changed any settings lately but it just started doing this. Can someone please give me step by step easy instructions on how to fix this? I would be so very thankful.

Thanks in advance,
Taylor

A:HTTP connection, proxy server?

If you're connected to the internet via a connection that's always on, like DSL or Cable, then you can run through the connection wizard and see if that helps. If you have to use a username and password to connect, then you'll need to know a bit more to configure. If you're using an always on connection then try opening internet explorer, click on TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS>CONNECTIONS>SETUP>NEXT>CONNECT TO THE INTERNET>SETUP MY CONNECTION MANUALLY>CONNECT USING BROADBAND CONNECTION THAT IS ALWAYS ON>FINISH and see if that helps.

Hello,

I want to connect to a Team Foundation Server through HTTP. I am not in the network (local nor VPN) with the server I want to connect to. I use the public IP of the server.
From my laptop with XP it can be reached easily - for example when I enter the http://serverIP:9200 in the Internet Explorer, the browser asks me for a password and if I fail to log it shows that the Access is denied.
9200 is a port number.
When I connect a laptop with Vista and do the same, a browser just informs that it cannot display the page. I can't also connect to the server via telnet. The behaviour is the same also when I turn off the firewall on Vista (on XP I do not need to turn off the firewall). What then can be blocking this connection?? Are there any security settings that I should check?
There is no problem to connect to the Web server from the same network as this TFS.
I would be very thankful for some help or suggestions.
Greetings,
Polo

Hi there-

Yesterday I noticed that the “automatic proxy setup” had been turned on and set to http://ɴ.net/server.pac. And I can not delete or change this setting. Basically I see the same problem as described in this post:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/614253/proxy-hijack-to-http%C9%B4netserverpac-and-google-redirects/

I searched Registry for "http://xn--koa.net/server.pac", and spot it in several places. I deleted all the "http://xn--koa.net/server.pac" that I found. After restarting the OS for several  times, the problems didn't appear. I assumed the problem was fixed.

BUT today, it comes back again. So I know method of simply deleting http://xn--koa.net/server.pac in Registry won't fix this problem permanently.

I attached FRST reports below.

Go to www.rejetto.com/temp/hfs2.0beta33.zip

2. Make a folder where you wish to run it from for example C:/Program files/hfs or C:/Documents and settings/Username/My documents/Hfs

3. Move the downloaded zip file into that folder and extract it.

4. Delete the zip file and KEEP THE OTHER FILES!!!!!

6. Click the button that says easy mode (this turns it into expert mode which basically means you have all the options)

7. Where it says port change the port to 80 (this can clash with some programs like webcam on msn and maybe others im not sure) ((the port you choose doesnt really matter 80 is just easier))

8. How to turn on port forwarding. (ONLY for people with routers) ((this varies depending on which make of router you have but for my router sweex i will tell you how its done))

Hi Rich,

I receive the same message when I go to the website in VirtualBox. I used to get this error when I set incorrect permissions on my index file with CHMOD. Perhaps the website is being upgraded. This page is particularly odd since it actually loads the domain, yet still gives the error.

I would give it a few days and see if it's up again.

Yesterday I noticed connection problems and I couldnt open google as it was deemed unsecure. After scanning with malwarebytes I noticed the aforementioned malware, so I procedd to remove all affected files and restarted. I could access google now but connection problems kept persisting so i did a scan with adwcleaner and it detected other threat files and removed them but problem kept persisting and even after doing a repair with Complete Internet repair software or AviraDNSrepair.
Now after removing the malware and making sure there's no trace of it in registry I can access google but connection problems are still present with webpages loading indefinetely until connection is reestablished. This also seems to happen mostly at night strangely enough.

Hi Guys,

I have a new computer d975xbx2 M/board with 8 gig ram and windows vista 64 bit installed.

I attached it to my netgear WGT624 v2 router along with my 2 XP "old" computers.

Everything was working fine, however the internet seemed to get sluggish after 5 or 6 hours or so, when I would unplug and replug the router and off we go again.

Fed up with this, I thought it must be the router so I rang netgear who told me to upgrade the firmware, which I did.

Then then problems began.

If I tried to open internet explorer, it would instantly not find a webpage and upon closing the browser, the box "internet explorer has stopped working" appears every time. The same when you open and close Windows media player, mailwasher, eudora etc.

When you open windows media player you can play songs but when closing the error box appears "windows media player has stopped working" etc. When you open Eudora or mailwasher it appears to "not find a socket" or "error getting network socket"(whatever that means). When closing the program up comes "eudora has stopped working etc".

So.... I gave up and did clean install of windows. Had a bit of trouble reinstalling everything as I know 'jack' about vista, let alone 64 bit systems (don't know why the guy sold it to me in the first place).

But anyway, got up and running with no more error boxes, that is until a week later I get "Apache http server has stopped ... Read more

I have PHP installed running with apache, I did it manually which I prefer because I can then create virtual hosts.

I have http://lostseed, http://jream, and http://velocity

I am having a very hard time getting MySQL to work.
All I want to do is have a MySQL database for each of these Virtual Hosts.
It doesnt matter If I use PHPmyAdmin or anything, I still cant get that to work
either

Ive read manuals and things and I cant figure out what Im doing wrong.

My virtual hosts are setup in system32/drivers/etc/hosts

Code:

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 jream
127.0.0.1 lostseed
127.0.0.1 velocitytools
127.0.0.1 test
To set those up I have this in my httpd.conf file for each one:

Code:
#For jream:
NameVirtualHost jream

<VirtualHost jream>
DocumentRoot d:\jream
ServerName jream
</VirtualHost>

<Directory "d:\jream">
Options all
AllowOverride all
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>
is there an easier way to do this? I tried using WAMP with aliases but
it does not show the css or image files when running because everything
is linked /css/ and /images/ -- if you click a link in the aliased directory
it would go http://css/, its stupid

please help Im going nuts

A:Apache HTTP Server Works w/PHP, how to work MySQL?

You should really use an IP address or Wildcard for the NameVirtualHost

You need to setup a VirtualHost Entry for each website and the Directory Directive needs to be inside the VirtualHost Directive.

Try not to start multiple threads with the same problem. Try and keep it all in one thread.

I have been infected by a proxy virus. The way I found it out was that I wasn't able to search anything on Google maps which somehow lead me to connection and proxy settings in the browser and saw that it was redirecting. I searched it online, went to safe mode, removed the virus though it was just temporary as it came back. I found the actual link from the infected registry settings.

Hi there,

I have query regarding a wireless router. My internet connection setup consists of an ADSL modem (D-link DSL-320T) connected via an Ethernet cable to a wireless router (D-link DIR-615). My network appliances in turn connect to the router wirelessly.

Originally, I had the modem connected to the DIR-615 wireless router (***model = H/W ver: B2; F/W ver: 2.21). However, when the router ceased to function, I replaced it with another DIR-615. Note, that the new model was: H/W ver: D4; F/W ver: 1.00 VG.

After this point, I have had a problem in accessing web pages stored on my web server (which connects to my router via a wireless bridge and also acts as an FTP server). When accessing these pages over the internet on a remote terminal, they are very slow to load this is the case on all the web sites that I host and not just one.

Note that accessing files works at normal speed over the internet via FTP using an FTP client or simply connecting to the FTP server using a web browser.

Whilst my port forwarding settings on the new router are the same as they were on the old unit, I was wondering what the issue might be that is causing these problems? Are there any settings on the new router that can be altered to deal with this problem issue?

Any suggestions are welcome!
Kind regards

A:Problem Accessing Web Server via HTTP After Changing Wireless router

I should also add that I've just tried to connect by web/ FTP server directly to the router via an Ethernet cable.

After doing this, I attempted to access my web pages over the internet on a remote terminal. In this instance, the web pages appeared to load at the normal speed.

Therefore, it appears that the problem issue mentioned in the first post is concerning the wireless connection between the router and the wireless switch (which is what the web server is plugged into).

The model of wireless switch is: Netgear WGPS606.
