Q: BSOD 3rd time in 7 days error 1000009f

Hi guys!
I dont know what is happening, I am good with computers but not that good , and I dont know what to do about it. I am getting a weird blue screen that restarts my laptop all of a sudden... These are the specs:

One thing I am sure of is that every time I got this BSOD i was running PS3 Media Server (java). My system is in Romanian so I tried my best at translating it. I just want to know what to do next. Thank you

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I am getting computer crashes every day or two. Most of the time it happens when computer is idle. I have recently replace RMA'd the SSD as it completely died. System performs well other then this issue.

It is crashing to reboot but not giving a BSOD.

I have ran memtest for about 24 hrs with no issues. This is a fairly new install, but the issue has happened since computer was built. I am thinking it is either the SATA controller on the motherboard or a compatibility issue between that and the SSD.

A:Crash, No BSOD every couple days, 1000009f

SugarSync is causing some issues here.

Better you dont allow it to be auto started. Call it on necessity. Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type ?msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the ?Startup? tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
Double click to open it.
Click this button only:

If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Now .....

Hello,
I've only had my laptop a few months and in the past 2-3 months i have been having BSOD errors once and a while when closing the lid to turn it to sleep mode.
I uninstalled a few things and it seemed to be fixed, but I just had another this morning and I can't find the same error on here anywhere (I'm guessing I missed it)
anyway, here is the info that was in the "windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" window:

I can't remember the other errors, but they were all BlueScreen as well.
I also have a dual boot with ubuntu, if that makes any difference. I will post my minidump files and such in a min.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi,

All of the attached DMP files are of the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a) bug check.

This indicates that Microsoft Windows or a kernel-mode driver accessed paged memory at DISPATCH_LEVEL or above.

This bug check is issued if paged memory (or invalid memory) is accessed when the IRQL is too high. The error that generates this bug check usually occurs after the installation of a faulty device driver, system service, or BIOS.

If we take a look at the call stack:

After a while I searched and many places in the net told that the Gygabite App Center sometimes create this, so I uninstalled it, andthe BSOD stopped when using AV, but my pc got very slow. I atm followed a thead here for malware removal, and detected 3 instances of Win32/Bundled.Toolbar.Google.D with Eset Scan online, I am waiting for an answer for eliminating them in the other thread, but want to check if the hardware have something to do with the bsod. So any help there? Thanks for your help, this site is REALLY a godsend for me

If you can, post any minidumps created by the BSOD's by going to C:\windows\minidump and select all the .dmp files. Right-click sending all the files to a compressed(zipped)folder. Upload this folder as a file here.

Hi all

My Lenovo W510 has some serious problems since the latest Updates (Windows and Lenovo)...

The Computer need 'hours' to shut down - most attempts ends in a BSOD, the Computer starts automatically some when in the night etc.
I made a Full scan with Kaspersky, a Error Check on the System HD - all seems to be OK..

I've attached a mini dump - could someone tell me whats wrong, I can't get any Information out of this dump.

Kind Regards
Peter

Hi peter and welcome

Your assumptions are correct the cause of this one was your Apsx64.sys (Apsx64.sys, Thu Oct 08 22:22:36 2009 (4ACE9E6C), Lenovo HDD utility driver (part of the IBM Thinkpad Active Protection System) ...)

I would re-install it (and maybe even back off to an older version)

First, look at the Knowledge Base (KB) articles at this link: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html#0x0000009F There are several that pertain to your situation (clickable links are at the link above):

10 memory dumps from 27 Apr 2010 to 25 May 2010 (about a month)
All are STOP 0x9F errors. If we don't find the cause, the documentation suggests running Driver Verifier.

Most of the dump files have qcusbnetsny.sys involved in the stack text - a driver associated with your Qualcomm USB composite device (USB\VID_05C6&PID_9222 and PID_9223). Most likely this is a Sony WWAN device, but it could be an Air Card also.

Uninstall the device's software, then download a fresh copy of the software from the manufacturer/carrier's support website and install it. Test to see if that stops the BSOD's. (links below)

Also, please remove or update these older drivers that were loaded at the time of the crash. Don't use Windows Update or the Update driver... Read more

These were all caused by memory corruption. To test your memory download memtestx86, burn it to cd, and run for at least 5 passes

I also noticed that your Qualcomm driver appeared in most of these so I would re-instll the newest driver

Hi, I have just installed Win 7 Ult x64 on my laptop. Then I have installed all the drivers needed from HP website and I have installed ESET NOD32 Antivirus. When using my computer I have registered two BSOD so far (it is 12 hours from installation).

The problem:
It is not exactly BSOD which I can see.
I command my PC to shut down - it starts to shut down - there is a sign Shutting down... for maybe 20 minutes and the PC then restarts. When it logs into the Windows a dialog appears that the system recovered from serious error, bsod giving error number 1000009f.

Please, control my dump files. I suspect some of the drivers as HP drivers support is everytime very bad.

Thanks a lot!

The NirSoft Bluescreen analyzer tags it as: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0x0000000a/

Attached is the file generated by DM Log Collector. Any help is highly appreciated.

Please run the DM Log Collector again and upload a new zip, the current uploaded one misses several logs.
You could check if there are 18 .txt,

files present, if this is the case then all logs are present
If there are a few missing, no problem as we can get them manually if required

Hey there --

I'm having repeated BSOD events, every few days, and am having a devil of a time pinning anything down. The error codes may come up as BAD POOL CALLER, or SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION, or PAGE FAULT IN NON-PAGED AREA. Those are the three I've seen multiple times. WhoCrashed gives plain-English explanations, but they're extremely general, and of little value to me. (i.e., "This is most likely a bad driver and not a hardware problem... the error occurred in the kernel..." DUH!) I've tried BlueScreenView, but I honestly don't have a clue how to begin with all that detailed information, and I could use some more expert help. (The upload is from the SF tool.)

There doesn't seem to be a pattern to when it happens, I've been surfing the net when it crashes, and I've sat down in the morning to find that it crashed overnight. Oddly enough, it has NOT crashed when I've been in the middle of anything intensive, like photo editing or manipulating music files.

The motherboard I'm working on is an Asus M3A-78CM, an older AMD AM2+ board with DDR2 memory, and I'm already aware of some driver issues with Win 8, particularly the VIA audio drivers, which are being worked around with some generic ones from nVidia. There is also a scanner attached which has no 64-bit drivers for it, but I have that disabled. And there is a quirky printer which seems to have a love/hate relationship with my system. Other than that, everything performs VERY well... except for these... Read more

Hello Sonam.

Nice configuration. But it is the display driver that caused here.

What I have seen, the October edition is somehow problematic on a lot of machines. So I would suggest you to do what I did myself.....

Hello all,

I am looking for help on this issue. I have tried everything I can think and nothing works. This computer has crashed basically out of the box. I have attempted to uninstall OBE00 which was apparently an issue with Windows defender and AMD as well as turning off TCP drivers. If anyone can llok through my dump files and help me I would greatly appreciate it.

A:BSOD randomly few hours/days error 0x0000000000/ 0x00000000008 etc.

Hi,

There are no dump files in your upload.

Please reconfigure windows to collect the correct info.
You want small memory dumps - "MiniDumps"

But anyways which is better a 1.40ghz-1.60ghz celeron m or a IntelŪ PentiumŪ M Processor 735 (1.70GHz/2MB Cache/400MHz FSB) Im not sure what chace or fsb I currently have also I dont use it much on battery mostly on a/c adaptor so I'm not really concered about battery life. And i'm sorry for the rush but I dont really have much time to act or if they will eve let me they most likey will but im not sure
Also as always thanks techspot members you sure do make a great help

A:Which is better-not much time (1-3 days)

Of course, the 1.7 GHz Pentium M is better than the Celeron M, because 1.7 is larger than 1.6

Is this okay? I usually shut my laptop off every night before bed. But lately I have been having shutdown and start up problems. Something is causing Windows to hang during shutdown, and therefore I have to hold the power button down for it to turn off.
Doing this at night, then causes Windows not to want to boot up in the morning. It eventually boots up and loads fine after a few attempts. So instead of having to deal with the frustration of doing this every night, is it acceptable to leave it on for a few days at a time?

(And in regards to the problem my laptop is having, My CD-ROM is also broken..so at this time, I'm unable to use the Windows recovery disk :/)

A:Leaving Laptop on for a few days at a time.

It won't hurt it as long as it has enough ventilation. Don't stuff it into a corner or anything. You could also set it to hibernate, which basically turns it off without shutting down Windows. Of you could just put it in standby, which uses more power but basically does the same thing.

Hello I have a DELL XPS M170 Laptop. I used to run an ebay business which I would sell INSTANT DELIVERY items. I used Outlook Express to send emails once I had received payment. Outlook Express has an option that it will automatically send emails if it picks up key words. The problem was that my laptop had to be on with Outlook Express running in order to instantly send emails. I used to leave my laptop on for days at a time, not only that but I had it on a bed so there wasnt any airflow. I know im a IDIOT for that and it was the biggest mistake I ever made. My laptop doesnt have any problems like shutting down or anything like that. It actually still runs perfectly except that it gets so hot I could barely touch the bottom of it. After leaving it on for a couple hours i could feel the heat coming through the top. I need your help guys what can I do to fix my very hot laptop. What part do I need to replace (because I know I need to replace something) in order to get my laptop back to its original condition? All the replys from other people about this type of situation always say use air to blow out dust but that is clearly not the case for me. I left my laptop on for days and it wasnt on a flat surface. I basically just need to know what i need to replace in my laptop and I can just purchase the new part and install it myself. I am aware of laptop cooling pads but I just want to fix the problem. I would really appreciate ANY help from anyone who knows which part is getting ho... Read more

I just watched a YouTube video of a Win7 Image Restoration.
The author indicated he had trouble restoring a System Image that was over 30 days old, due to the fact that the 30 day activation period for Win7 had expired from the time the System Image was made. It returned an error message for an Image that was over 30 days old, whereas an Image that was restored within 30 days of making it did not. Can anyone definitively shed some light on this? Do I have to create a new System Image each 30 days to remain protected due to Microsoft activation requirements?

This guy did not activate his system with a valid product key. Else there is no such restriction.

Hi everyone.

I recently bought a custom-made computer from a well established business in the UK.

The computer arrived and as I was installing everything onto it, the internet dropped out a few times. I thought nothing of it and continued. After a day or two, the dropping out happened more and more until after about 4-6 days, it become unusable.

I contacted the business, and they sent out a new network card. Whilst I was waiting for this to arrive, I tried using a USB adaptor instead of the installed card. This worked fine, until again, after 2 days or so, it started having the same issues and then stopped working completely after a similar amount of time.

The new network card has now arrived and after 2 days, the errors seem to start to be happening again. It has dropped out 3 times now and looks as though to be getting more frequent like before.

I have tried numerous attempts to fix the errors - resetting the adaptor, reinstalling the adaptor, pausing anti-virus, and all the other methods I could find online - but none have made any difference. Using the troubleshooter works okay for the first few times, but as the issue gets worse, it becomes less and less effective. The errors it reports change but most often it is related to a gateway not being available, or there being some form of IP issue.

Perhaps worth noting is that I use my phone as a hotspot as the internet signal is terrible where I have the computer. However, I've tested it, and it works absolutely fi... Read more

i got a random BSOD about an hour ago. i have uploaded/provided a link to download the compressed the DMP file. i should also add that a week ago i got a separate BSOD, and was told the problem was AVG (antivirus). I have found 3 DMP files, the first two are related to the first BSOD i had a week ago. The last one is the one i just got, today. Please let me know when you have finished with the link so i can delete the DMP file. Thanks
i dont know if todays BSOD has anything to do with this the previous two BSOD's last week. have also ran antivirus and have no virus.
The link to download the DMP file is:

This dump file also identified AVG as the culprit. Please remove it from the system using its uninstaller. AVG | Download tools and utilities
I recommend running Avast or MSE for the time being.

Hi,
in this video Laura E. Hunter from Microsoft describes behavior analytics: https://youtu.be/hNZdboDvnuU?t=1251
She says that ATA will analyze the behavior in a domain for 21 days and declare this as normal behavior. After the 21 days ATA will report unusual user behavior based on the 21 days analysis.
I have two questions about this:
1. Can we see the progress of the analysis somewhere? I searched through the ATA-center but there is nothing. Is it possible to see it in some kind of logfile or the Mongo-DB?
2. We have started ATA with one DC. What happens if we add our other DCs later? Will the analysis recognize behavior from those, also when the 21 days are already over?
I did not find anything about this 21 days analys period in the documentation. I'm more than happy with a hint if I have overseen something there.
Thanks in advance

I thought I would have up to next July to decide when to get Win 10 going after the update procedure but it only gives 2 days  - how can I postpone it for much longer?

A:Win 10 ready updated but how to increase 2 days of postponement time?

You can postpone it indefinitely I think by just ignoring the message and closing the window. If you want, you can uninstall the KB3035583 and simply upgrade via the Media Creation Tool whenever you are ready.

From Google, the sound distortion appears to be worldwide and has been around for a long time - but Dell tech support appears they know nothing about it. I'm using Windows 7 SP-1. The distortion will stop if I reboot. Without rebooting, the distortion returns anywhere within a few hours to a few days and, as time goes on, the distortion gets much worse. If you have any ideas on how to fix this issue, I will provide as many other particulars about my computer and software as you need. If there is no known solution, I believe a class action suit may be warranted. Thank you in advance.

Usually when playing a game, but it will happen randomly while just browsing the net, too.

Honestly, I have no idea what to say, because it seems to happen at random. Sometimes it'll blueescreen, sometimes it won't and the games themselves will just crash rather than a bluescreen. Sometimes the PC will crash and I'll just get a red screen with no text at all before it restarts.

Please let me know if there's any more information I can provide you with that'd help narrow this down.
