Q: System lockups, BSOD, games crash. errors vary.

Ok . I am getting random system lockups, can happen anytime. Sometimes using when using chrome or just on desktop. Happens most often when windows is on login screen, or sometime right before windows loads. Playing any game I have will cause crash to desktop. Crash time varies from game loading screen to playing game for a few minutes.

So far I have reinstalled windows 3 times. I have replaced motherboard because it crashed during bios update, thus ruining mobo, tried different power supply also. After installing windows I have installed latest drivers that I could find, didnt seem to make any difference from the drivers that were loaded when windows was first installed. I did notice that after I installed pc matic I got constant BSOD, So I uninstalled it. fewer BSOD But still have lockups and game crashes.

I have ran memtest for 24 hours with no errors, also ran tests on ssd and hdd drives with no errors.
I should have the files attached to this post.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

Uninstall Daemon ToolsDownload the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
Double click the executable to open itClick on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window

Please uninstall ASUS software, it is known for causing bluescreens.

Diagnostics Test

Clean boot

Please try the following:
Open taskmanager
Go to the tab startupdisable everythingSearch msconfig and open it
Go to the tab servicesCheck 'hide microsoft services'Uncheck all other servicesClick apply and click okReboot if asked
See if the problem persist, if the problem does not persist enable in the startup tab in taskmanager 1 item and in the services tab in msconfig also 1 service, reboot and see if the problem persist. Keep doing this until you find the culprit or there is nothing left.
If the problem still persist, try booting in safe mode and see if the problem still persist

Hello all!

One of my PCs is having pretty frequent BSODs (a few times a day), can happen with just the desktop and no programs open or whilst playing games.

I originally thought this was a memory issue so did a memtest, got 9 passes so stopped it after that. HDD appears to be fine too (this is also all new hardware, purchased in november '14).
The most common errors it pops up with are Kernel security check failure and IRQ_not_less_or_equal.

The OS is Windows 10, however this also happened on 8.1 initially (I don't expect 10 to be stable, I'm happy to deal with it if something just isn't compatible - but would like to check if there's something I can do first! ). My other 2 PCs run W10 like a dream but they're all different hardware.

Here are the logs:

Hey guys I've been having an issue for about 2 months now, basically when I'm playing games (WoW / LoL / Titanfall) my PC will randomly freeze, then my monitor will just shutdown. I then have to manually shutdown my PC using the power button as it remains turned on even after the monitor shuts down.

On reboot I get an error saying "Display driver stopped responding but has recovered" and after checking the event viewer I have multiple errors before each unexpected shutdown. Also sometimes on reboot after 5 mins the PC will blue screen resulting in the same display driver error but it hasn't done that for a few weeks now.

Here are the errors that appear prior to the shutdown:

I built my own computer for the first time about a month ago and everything has been fine, but a few days ago I got my first BSOD and it has been excessive since then. I can't seem to pinpoint what I'm doing when it happens, because it can happen while doing anything from playing a game, surfing on chrome, or just sitting there. I tried to have a go at analyzing the event logs and I redownloaded and reinstalled my graphics driver but it did not help. I then found there was a newer BIOS version for my motherboard, so I updated that and there were no BSOD's for the entire day and I thought I fixed the problem. But then I got a new mouse, tried to install the drivers and now the crashes have started again. I get a BSOD on startup when I try to run driver verifier and it always get BSOD before I can finish a full scan with my anti-virus (microsoft security essentials). I also ran check disk and it reported no problems or bad sectors. I'll attach the minidump files here and I'm going to run a memtest, any help is appreciated. Let me know if you need any more info.

Hey all,
I'm having an issue with my ASUS F5GL laptop. If I try to launch a game like Counter-Strike: Source, Garry's Mod or Just Cause 2, not long after actually leaving the menu and beginning to play (anywhere between 2-5min), the whole laptop just silently crashes. I checked ALL the logs, and there is nothing in there, except something recorded at boot, saying the computer was not cleanly shutdown. When it does crash, a second before it crashes, a weird thin horizontal line appears in a random location on the screen, going all the way across the screen. This was happening under Windows Vista, but I just bought and did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium, and it's still happening. I have updated my drivers and it still happens. Issues started not long ago when I purchased a new gtx 750 ti graphics card. Get varied Bsod error messages such as video_tdr_failure nvlddmkm.sys, and DPC_Watchdog_violation as well as one or two others. These issues present themselves upon starting of certain games. Specifically first person shooters but is rarely a problem for my most played game League of Legends. Very easily replicate-able as it happens everytime i start said games. Starts out as odd stretched lines and screen disturbances (spasm like textures and light shafts in game) and then black screen with sound followed by either display kernel crash message of my video driver or complete computer shutdown.

Also included below is a DxDiag system info save file.

Hi

When I try to play Battlefield 2 online I get very choppy game play, the game locks up and the sound keeps on repeating, this usualy happens a few times each lasting around 10 seconds, after around 5 minutes of game play the game locks up totaly then crashes to the BSOD. This doesnt happen all the time (Around 25% of games played). I have tried everything I could think of to fix this but im stumped. Any help would be much apreciated.

I have an acer aspire 4730Z with vista home premium 32bit OEM. For a while now it has had intermittent problems with either total lockups (screen freezes still displaying whatever was up, no response to any input at all) or BSoD.

I have previously reinstalled the OS from the original manufacturer discs without any apparent effect on the problem, so I believe it to be hardware related.

Attached are the files I collected following the instructions in the posting instructions for this forum.

Hi,

My apologies in advance, this is going to be a long and rambling post and at the end of it I'm not convinced that my problem is going to be well described (mostly because I don't have the techincal skills to define it).

My problem started almost a month ago with my Gfx card. I switched the PC on one day to be shown windows in 4 colours and lowest rez with an error message on the device manager on my Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX card reporting that 'the driver is reporting a problem with this hardware'. Having been through a couple of Gfx cards in the past I believed that I had melted this one so i placed an order for a Sapphire HD 4850 which duly arrived.

I installed the new Gfx card, however I wasn't sure what all the cables inside my box were for and it is concievable that I damaged the cable connecting the HDD to the Mboard and/or it's powersupply. I also believe that I damaged the PCI Express port that the original Gfx card was in when taking it out, cleaning it, restesting it etc (when I plugged the 4850 into it; it didn't work - I used the 2nd PCI-E slot for the 4850).

After installing the drivers for the 4850 (again I had some problems as the 4 colour screen didn't allow me to see enough of the installation box to select the correct driver 1st time) I was confident my PC was back in good health; I was mistaken.

After the restart I attempted to load a test game which resulted in a hang. After about 3 minutes of thinking I reci... Read more

Hi. I've recently been trying to play Metal Gear Solid 5 but every time I boot it up my PC either crashes as soon as the splash screens are done or after a few minutes. It's been crashing while playing other games as well but it's been much rarer. It's not a BSOD crash and it doesn't produce any crash dumps so I'm leaning towards it being a problem with either the PSU, the motherboard or one of the graphics cards. Any help with finding the cause of this would be appreciated.

Hello all, I have been experiencing random system freezes and BSOD recently. I haven't had any hardware changes or even installed any new programs recently, so I'm not sure what is happening.

I am assuming, but could be wrong, that they are video card related. Here is why: I now constantly have issues where my screen flickers and has green dots for several seconds, and then resets with a warning that "your amd display adapter has crashed and has recovered" This type of issues tends to happen very frequently when just browsing on the internet using chrome, but does happen occasionally when gaming and other system taxing stuff. If just browsing, I tend to get this crash and recover. If I am downloading a file, I usually get a system freeze.

I have attached my most recent dump file, however my system freezes and requires a hard reset more often then getting BSOD so I don't know how recent the dump info is.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Hi TarBash45.

Uninstall Asus Charger Plus. It is the main issue here.

Also, Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
Double click to open it.
Click this button only:

If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Uninstall Avast using Avast Uninstall Utility. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one; for a safety reason.

Let us know the results.

Hi folks,

I built this computer for work and it's been constantly locking up or bluescreening.

On a first windows install, it would randomly BSOD but I thought I solved that problem, only to have it then start freezing. This was very random, sometimes it would run for days then boom, multiple freezes. I re-installed windows and now I'm back to BSOD and freezes. To be honest, I'm almost ready to stomp the thing.

I've run memtest, prime95, various stress testing programs and found no errors.

Motherboard is P8H61-MX USB3 Rev X.0x running a 3.20 gigahertz Intel Core i5-3470

For the last year or so, (possibly ever since I've built this computer ) I have been experiencing intermittent lock ups while doing regular web browsing / excel tasks. Generally, the system will "lock up" for around 30 seconds to a minute and then resume functioning as normal. During this lock up any window I click will fade white until the lock up ends about a minute later.

This was only a minor annoyance and I would see it happen about 3 or 4 times over the course of an 8 hour workday.

Starting yesterday however, the system no longer returns from the lockup. Instead, it stays "hung" for 1 or 2 minutes before completely blacking out and restarting. For whatever reason the restart also seems to fail most of the time and I have to manually turn the computer off and back on. I've tried doing some basic memory testing, psu testing, and experimenting with the different applications I'm running with no luck.

While I'm not directly seeing the BSOD, I do have logs in the windows event viewer corresponding to the lockup times that state it is a Blue Screen Event.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Counterfeit installations such as yours contains heavily modified code that causes the installation to behave it unexpected ways. Analysing BSOD's and determining their causes on these sorts of installations is very unreliable.

My recommendation is to start with a clean slate, and install a genuine version of Windows. This will minimise the problems you are experiencing, and make subsequent diagnosis of BSOD's far more reliable.

This is a post I made in the Gaming Forum. I was told to move it to this forum for better support.

Hi! I'm new to the website and this is my first post, so please bear with me. I built my own rig and have no other problems with it besides this.

Problem:

Sometimes when playing video games such as Battlefield 4 beta and Alan Wake, my monitor turns black and the audio stutters, then stops. The computer is still on, but needs to be restarted before I can use it again. This occurs once every 5-20 minutes, usually on 3-D rendered, full-screen games. I monitor my GPU and CPU's temperature; while the GPU occasionally runs up to 70 Celsius, the crashes may occur at any temperature.

Specs:

Windows 7 Professional 64bit (6.1.7601 Service Pack 1, fully updated)

Hello,

So first of all, I am not a computer wizard. Some terms I might not understand as i've never had a problem like this before, but i'll try to enlist as much information as possible.

Since last friday or so, i've suddenly encountered a BSOD. Now, i've had them before and it was only once. After a reboot it usually never happend again and everything was cool. But since friday, they popped up again. Mainly during playing Battlefield 1, but i've also had it happen during Dragon Ball: Xenoverse 2.

I've had multiple BSOD errors, which are:

- IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
- BAD POOL HEADER
- MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
- SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION

Now if it were one, I might've been able to pinpoint the issue, but.. They're constantly different errors that happen. Now, to explain a bit more in detail how it goes:

So i'm just playing a match of Battlefield 1. After 10/15 minutes give or take, it'll bring me to the blue screen. After processing whatever it has to process, computer shuts down and it starts to restart. At this point it will be stuck in an infinite restart loop, where my monitor will not display anything as well. It just says it's not connected to something, which it clearly is. After manually closing and rebooting, i'll have to do this a few times or mess with the HDMI a little bit before I get my monitor to pop up again. Once that happens, I get stuck in the beginning screen where you can see your HDD/SSD installed. It won't go further than that unless I ... Read more

I am getting a reproducible system crash.

When it occurs, it is always getting into or getting out of a game, while the game is running. The three games that this has happened on are Worms Armageddon, America?s Army, and the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo.

It always seems to occur when

1. I am minimizing the game, in the game, and trying to come back to Windows.
2. I am trying to get back into the game after I do #1 (while the game is still running).
*I am not sure 1 and 2 happen 100% of the time, but very, very often.
3. When I am exiting the game and coming back to Windows.
*3 does not happen every time.

It always occurs during the transition, (when the screen is flipping to the game or to Windows)

Example:
I can do the following and it will crash every time.
1. Start America?s Army
2. At the main menu I will then press the Windows-icon button on the keyboard. This brings me back to Windows.
3. Then I click on the Americas Army tab in the taskbar.
4. The screen goes black, like its getting into the game, but then immediately it crashes and restarts.

After it reboots, Windows gives me the critical error message and says that ?A device driver may have caused this problem?.

This happened before I updated the graphics driver and after I downloaded the latest driver.

I have recently built this system from some new parts I ordered and some existing parts. I freshly formated, installed XP, updated XP, installed latest 4-in-1's, Latest Vid Drivers (56.72WHQL), latest RAID driver (Though I am not using RAID), latest soundmax driver, and so on...

I installed DAoC (Dark Age of Camelot), patched the game, and fired it up. Within 30 seconds I got 0x50 BSoD. I rebooted and tried again, this time I simply got crash to desktop, and it was after maybe 10 minutes. So I started turning things off: Fast Writes-Off, memory timings reduced (2.5-3-3-6), No Overclocking (Always been this way), etc. Went to run DXDiag, and got a BSoD 0x8e (0xc5,...,...,0) Which flags a driver as the issue. Reboot, and re-run DXDiag it states that a problem occured initializing directshow and offered to skip this, so I took the offer. Ran all tests for video, all passed. Still can't play games... Any ideas?

Here is what I have ruled out:
Faulty RAM - Ran Memtest86+ w/ no errors, used a physical ram tester w/no errors, and ran Prime95 for several hours w/ no errors.
Faulty Video Card - Replaced with exact same card, still occurs.
Faulty OS install - I have reinstalled.
Out-of-Date Drivers or OS - All the latest installed.
Fast Writes - Turned off
Mem Timings too strict - Turned down (They auto set this low CL2.5-3-3-6, but can prolly run as tight as CL2-2-2-2)
Heat - System runs cool, 39C average,

I can Post msinfo32 or DXDiag if that would be helpful, figured I&#... Read more

I have this problem with my PC. My system will crash after about 3 mins. of playing games. The monitor will just display a white screen. When I reboot, the monitor will just display green and red lines. And when I try to reboot again, the system will not respond. I need to unplug the power cable just to turn it off.

I already tried the following solutions but to no avail:

- reformat my PC
- used windows 98 2nd ed as OS
- changed my power supply unit from 300W to 350W
- replaced my videocard with the same model (under warranty)
- updated by video card driver to the latest driver
- updated the AGP driver
- open the casing while playing games.
- check if my memory is ok using memtest program

Here are the specs of my PC:

-P4 2.66 Ghz
-ECS L4SA8 MOBO SiS678 AGP 8X
-512 MB PC333 DDR (1 stick)
-40 GB Seagate HD 7200
-Inno3D FX 5600 Ultra 128Mb
-350W PSU
-WinXP Professional

Can someone help me with this problem... Thanks..

A:System will crash when playing games

Let's first see if theirs any hardcore errors in event viewer. In order to get into event viewer click on start, control panel, admin tools, event viewer. Take a look into applications and sytem and see if their are any errors around the same time as the game crashed. This may give you a lead as to what failed when the game crashed.

Also does this happen on just one game or is it all games? It could just be a simple game patch

If you need more assistance just post back!

Hello everyone,

[tl;dr]DX9 games consistently crash and cause a system freeze an indeterminate amount of time after loading. (Average 3 minutes) This issue even occurs during clean boots. Furmark, ɣ-cruncher, AIDA64 stress tests all last 12 hours without issue. Memtest and disk error check pass with no issues. DX10 games (eg. LotRO) play without encountering the issue.

System specifications:

Hardware is as old as Windows 7 (Approximately 2.5 years)
OS age detailed below (07/26/2011 for brevity)

NZXT Precise 1000W; Corsair HX1000W
Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion
NZXT Sentry
ASUS U3S6 USB3 PCI Expansion Card

After dealing with this issue for an unknown amount of time, I decided to start with a fresh install of Windows and proceed from there. I initially assumed the issue was due to the system configuration, so I continued by customizing Windows and running Windows Updates, installing drivers, and installing any necessary programs and games. After the installations completed, I decided to run stress tests. Furmark ran at max settings for 12 hours with no issues (no artifacts, no graphical issues, no overheating). AIDA64 ran for 12 hours with no issues. ɣ-Cruncher ran for 8 hours using 7 GiB of RAM with no issues. Memtest comp... Read more

I have been trying to do a restore on a hard drive that's supposed to take a few days, but every time I try, I get a blue screen. This has been very painful to restart the restore process after 24 or 36 hours or so. I have been using blue screen viewer, but I cannot decipher the information I need. Most of my drivers should be up to date. I checked with driver agent and only one seems old (Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller). I don't think this would be causing the BSOD's. This issue has been aggravating me for a while and I really want it to be taken care of. Since I bought this computer, mostly all my games have been crashing on me, and I'd say about 90% of the games I play just randomly crash or gives me the blue screen of death, most often the blue screen of death.

Here are my specifications as I'm sure that someone will be asking for it:

4 Gb of OCZ RAM
i5 750 2.7GHz
XFX Radeon HD 5870
MSI P55-GD65 mobo
1 Tb of HDD memory...

Running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit, using Corsair H50 liquid cooling as my main source of cooling and a Silverstone Strider 1000W PSU. GPU is always updated to its latest, BIOS has never been updated (still at 1.1 or something, I've seen the site and there's an option about updating it to 1.7 but I've heard bad things about updating BIOS), and my CPU is usually 29 ?C, sometimes spiking to something like 38 ?C for a few seconds when I'm gaming. I know a virus isn't causing this because I've wiped my hard drive a few times already.

If you guys need anymore information, please ask...

Thanks...

Hello,

I recently put together my first computer and everything has been going wonderfully, up until I started playing games.
The other night I was playing an online FPS and the computer suddenly crashed and I got a blue screen with an error message that dissapeared too fast for me to read.
However I've gone and attached the minidump file in my post.
The problem has returned 4 times already and I'm starting to get worried, I'm not quite sure what to do.
It only happens when I play games though, which is different from the other posts I've read...

If anyone could help me out, I'd very much appreciate it! ;3

Hello all.
I am new to these forums and need some help. Many of the other posts are of BSOD's, but mine is different. Outside of games my computer performs and runs perfectly fine and same with games, until recently.

Just recently (no, i have not installed ANYTHING) my computer started crashing during games only. It's wierd because normally people get BSOD, but in my case i get repeating sound and still image. Even if i let it sit there for a while it still doesnt give me a blue screen. I am forced to reboot using my reset button. At first it was only with CoD2, which i thought it was specific only to that game, but the other day i was playing EQ2 and the sound froze and image froze. The sound, lets say of me slashing, keeps repeating.

I have the latest drivers for my Graphics card and for my sound card and dont know why this started happening. The wierd thing is that i havent installed anything. Ive diagnosed my HD and nothing comes up, ive scanned my comp and its clean, ive yet to check the ram but willdo tonight. I hope its not the ram, and its compatible w/my Mobo (checked before i bought it). Ill try updating as many drivers as possible, but again... it shouldnt be this because it ran perfectly earlier with these drivers.

Ive had a chipset problem on my mobo a long time ago, but doubt it was this because that was about 2 months ago and games have been running fine afterwards (of course, until now). Also, Ive had SP2 from the getgo, so it shouldnt b... Read more

There's something I ask you to clarify, how come you have both via audio and creative labs? Perhaps removed your creative card but still having its drivers left? If so uninstall all Creative software and drivers and sweep its remnants with the Driver Sweeper:

Hi! I'm new to the website and this is my first post, so please bear with me. I built my own rig and have no other problems with it besides this.

Problem:

When playing video games such as Battlefield 4 beta and Alan Wake, my monitor turns black and the audio stutters, then stops. The computer is still on, but needs to be restarted before I can use it again. This occurs once every 5-20 minutes, usually on 3-D rendered, full-screen games. I monitor my GPU and CPU's temperature, and have found that neither are linked to these crashes.

Alright, so I've recently updated my system to Windows 7 and in the beginning things were good. Recently (a little more than a week ago) My system started to crash without fail while in game. As an owner of a gaming computer, the thing has turned pretty useless to me. haha

Alright, so I will describe the conditions. While in game (any where between 5 minutes and an hour) the computer will go silent and then reboot. I've explored a number of solutions, ranging from updating my Direct X and video drivers, to running a system repair through the windows install disk and a memory diagnosis. I've searched my harddrives for errors and I have been resisting a full OS reinstall, but I will run one if their is no real solution. any information would be wonderful. My Windows install is up to date and before the upgrade to windows 7 I've had no issues.

I've attached my Dxdiag to this post.

Any insight to this issue would be amazing.

Hi Y'all.

Ok. I've been having the BSoD with multiple errors causing the crashes.

May 31st: NETIO.SYS
Jun 2nd: CNG.SYS
Jun 3rd: WMILIB.SYS
Jun 6th: NTFS.SYS

I have dmp files for all 3 crashes if requested.

After the CNG.SYS crash I ran MEMTEST86 from a UEFI USB drive and after 6 hours it returned no errors with my memory modules. The NETIO.SYS error had me thinking it was my Samsung SSD which runs the Win8.1 x64 Enterprise OS but after running diagnostics on the SSD it returned no errors. Now getting the NTFS.SYS error I'm baffled at what's causing these different errors virtually everyday for the past week.

So, what ideas can be offered for me to look into that's causing these errors?

Thanks.
Cole

Your dumpfiles can be divided in 2 groups.
3 Dumpfiles blames Probably caused by memory corruption

Please check your memory with memtest 86+ for faults.

Recently my computer has begun to crash in the middle of games (Counter strike and League of Legends). The crash happens abruptly while playing, the screen tears the image completely where nothing on the screen is now identifiable, just shreds of the image/colors/pixels. The PC then stops all tasks and continues to run with the frozen image on the screen with no sound or anything running. I have to hard reset and hold the power button. The computer runs fine right after, a slow boot up at most. I know my CMOS battery is dying due to the clock on my computer losing time. Is could that be a problem linked to this?

I'd appreciate any help. Thank you.

Windows 7 64bit Home Premium
- installed myself (full retail)

Just upgraded mobo, graphics card , new RAM, and water cooler for cpu

ASUS Motherboard M5
AMD FX(tm) - 8150 Eight-Core Processor
Radeon AMD HD 6950
(tried a backup Nvidia 650 TI but had the same problems)

Though the comp seems to crash the most during games, it has also crashed while using the internet, and on the desktop with nothing but programs and windows open. It doesn't always give me BSOD, sometimes it just freezes and system manager cannot be called up. One time it even cut out the sound of the game after stuttering for a second. A minute later the rest of it froze.

I used Blue Screen View and it seems to source ntoskrnl.exe as the main culprit though others like blbdrive.sys and win32k.sys have also showed up.

Any help would be great. Let me know if you need anymore info.

Can I get my steam saved games back after a system crash? My hard drive failed recently and that's the only thing stopping me from reinstalling windows.

A:Can I get my steam saved games back after a system crash?

Nope, sadly.
It will retain your achievments though!
Bad news I know, but try Googling your game + 100% savegame or whatever level you were on. You should be able to find it.

example. "Half-Life 2 100% Savegame/Water Hazard Savegame STEAM"
and you should come across what you need pretty quickly, hope this helped

Hello, I've been dealing with this issue for roughly 2 months now, my computer completely crashes, (Screen freezes on the last thing I saw before the crash, cannot even turn on/off num or caps lock with my keyboard, mouse is completely unresponsive, ctrl alt del does nothing, just a total crash, totally unresponsive).
This occurs any time I'm attempting to launch a game, most MMOs, Star wars battlefront, everything, they all occur after login before I would actually see the gameplay, (after i input username and password and hit play, before character or environment loads)
What has me stumped is that this does not occur when I launch fallout 4, Guild wars 2, League of Legends (Other fairly intensive games) It only occurs with CERTAIN games.
I've done everything I can think of, I've tested my HDD with seagate tools, ive ran furmark, heaven benchmark, ive tested my CPU with hotcpu tester, ive tested my GPU, ive tested my RAM, ive changed setting after setting in my AMD control center, from overclocking my GPU to underclocking my GPU to messing with CPU power settings, any test you can think of, ive most likely done it. My drivers are all up to date and ive even attempted rolling back my drivers to a previous version and nothing changes, the games are of course up to date, AND this issue has followed me from Windows 7 to Windows 10, (I changed to windows 10 from 7 in an attempt to fix this and the problem still occurs) I'm at my wits end, i've poured probably a ... Dear Forum,

I recently bought my first gaming computer

i5 OC at 4.5
6970
2 SSD's in RAID 0 for OS drive
etc

When ever I play games be it Battlefield 3 or League of Ledgends:
Freeze, screen goes black, buzzingish noise from speakers.
Have to force restart then fine, no windows messages.

The only major error in the logs is "Kernal Power"

I have Stress tested the CPU and the GPU, run the windows mem test and formatted and re-installed drivers more times than I can count.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Kind Regards,

~ Adderman

A:Freezing Crash, no BSOD or usable errors.

Update: Ran driver verifier, no output or BSOD, so I assume that means no errors.

Hello,

KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED Windows should also identified a driver (a *.sys file) first thing you could check is sfc /scannow (as administrator) also make sure you use the latest availible drivers because this error might be caused by a bad thirdparty driver. Also run windows memory diagnostics and check hp website for the newest stuff for your model.

Hello,

I need urgent help from anyone that can do so. I am not sure when this problem started to occur (approximately 1 month ago). Whenever I play some games that require more or so regular or intensive resources, my computer crashes into a BSOD and I am forced to restart my computer. This has happened plenty of times that I lost count.

Now it's starting to get really annoying. I have read the following thread:
Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

However, after following what is posted, I noticed that the dump files are quite old, from 2013 if I am not mistaken. I will attach the zip below and let you see by yourselves, I could be wrong though.

If you need any other information, please let me know as I will give it you for sure since I am really tired of this. A friend of mine has told that this is a RAM issue.

Note: I need to mention that this sort of issue has happened to me before when I a friend of mine built the computer for me. But later, after telling him about it, he took it and fixed it. He said that it was something related to the RAM that he forgot to do when building it. After that, everything ran normally until 1 month ago when the BSODs started to visit me again. Before 1 month ago, my computer was awesome as it ran for 25 days constantly without any crashes of any sort.

Hey guys,

I'm unsure if this is the correct place to post this, if not, it would be much appreciated if you could point me to the appropriate place.

So i've had this build for a few months now. It is my first build. Here are the specs:
Intel Core i5-4690K
Zotac GTX 970
8GB Ram
Asus Z-97-A mobo
Windows 8.1

When i'm playing big games such as BF4 or GTA V, it likes to crash midway through the game constantly. I can play BF4 for a while before it crashes back to the desktop and i cannot play GTA for more than 10 minutes before it does the same. Sometimes these games even causes a BSODr. As well as, Crysis 3 just completely crashes and freezes my computer after a very short time of playing,

Also sometimes when i'm rendering a video in Sony Vegas Pro 13, i get a BSOD too.

I think it may be to do with my graphics card but i just can't quite put my finger on it. My GPU drivers are all updated.

Any ideas?
