Finding Drivers for Diamond MM Stealth II 2200 on Windows XP

Q: Finding Drivers for Diamond MM Stealth II 2200 on Windows XP

Well the title pretty much explains it but I would give you some more details, so I have this very old Graphics Card (Prop. around 95,98, or NT) and I would like to use it on Windows XP but they don't make it for it so I went all around the internet looking for the drivers but no luck so i turn to the Tech Support as my last hope. Also it's Windows XP 32x

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi Tyler,

I think you may have already, but have you tried here:

Diamond Downloads|ATI video card support and driver download

Download the "[EXE] DIAMOND STEALTH II WIN9X DRIVER" driver and run it. The chances are it may not work; however you may be able to use the browse function from the device manager to search the directory the .exe creates. Doing it manually that way may work.

I recently got a Diamond Stealth 64 Video 2001 Series PCI card from a friend to install in an old Gateway PC I have. Where is the best place to find a driver for it? I found one web site www.video-drivers.com that listed drivers for Diamond Stealth cards, but there were so many different models of Diamond Stealth 64 cards (VRAM, DRAM, etc), I wasn't sure which one to download. The P/N on the back of the card says 23030093-203, and the writing on the top of the card says "Stealth 64 Video 2001 Diamond Multimedia" and on the back of the card it says "Stealth 64 Video 2001 PCI 1+3". I'm planning on installing it in a 266 Mhz Gateway running Windows 98 (upgraded from W95). It currently has 4MB AGP card, so do I just pop out the AGP card, and pop this one into one of my PCI slots and load the new drivers? Any and all help would be much appreciated. Thanks,

This is a new PC. I purchased a Stealth PCI S80 card.
In CMOS I set it to PCI, it was set to that as default.
I disabled onboard graphic controller in device mgr.
I shut down pc, installed card, made sure it was seated. Connected monitor to card. Fired up the PC and monitor will not come out of standby mode.
I removed card and left onboard graphic controller disabled. PC fired up and worked fine, no graphic support. I looked in device manager and there was not monitor anywhere. I called HP support and explained. First thing tech person stated that he had the same problem with this card on a EMACHINE.
He had no fix. I contacted Stealth via email, no responce, went to their site and it stated Best Data now owns the rights. Best data no help as of now.
Card is about 3 days old now and have 12 days left to return.

Hi, I own a Diamond Stealth 256mb PCI 3D card. Every time I plsy a game, i get decent performance, but after about ten minutes or so I get a black screen and the VPU Recover message says it has reset my graphics card because it stopped responding to driver commands, I have tried multiple driver updates, uninstall and reinstalls, I have even tried updating the chipset drivers for my mobo. Can anybody help me? It would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes it actually is better to use an older driver. And you need to be absolutely sure that you have uninstalled all parts of the previous drivers, using ATI's uninstall program, and then also Nasty File Remover or Driver Cleaner Professional.

I have this game that shuts down shortly after loading. The help program suggested I check out the dxdiag, so I did, and i did some checks and then it told me this-Hardware accelerated Direct3D 8+ is not available because the display driver does not support it. You may be able to get a newer driver from the hardware manufacturer. Along with Direct3D 8 test results: Display driver does not support API (DDI version too low)
Direct3D 9 test results: Display driver does not support API (DDI version too low)
So, I went looking for an update i found one, I installed it and nothing happened. It said it finished and i restarted but nothing different happened. So, what am I doing wrong?

Hi ... new guy with what I'm sure is a simple and annoying question.

Not a real gamer, but was always annoyed that I didn't have a video card to play some of the old games lying around the house (young son interested).

Put in the above card and had a heck of a time ever since.

Looks decent now, but two problems exist.

1. The monitor updates in a lazy wave when I scroll down on a web site or email, and things like icons etc update slowly in a wave. Clearly wrong.
2. Can't play games as the 3D isn't working. dxdiag says Direct3D functionality not available.

The old card was onboard and didn't have any details in the BIOS peripherals.

I noticed in Add/Remove Programs I have S3 3Display, S3 3Overlay etc, but they won't go away when I try to remove them and didn't go when I ran Driver Cleaner 3

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Please help! I am replacing an old PCI Graphic Card that ran ATI with a new Diamond Stealth S60 Radeon 7000 ATI PCI Graphic Adapter. But during the driver installation I receive the message "This display driver is not compatible with the display adapter installed in your system". Even attempted to remove all ATI software files and drivers and perform clean install. No Luck same message. Oh, and this is a custom built systems with Windows XP home/ P4. A:Trouble installing Diamond Stealth S60/Radeon 7000 PCI Version Video Card

Welcome to Techspot!
You are correct you will absolutely have to disable the on board video in your bios.
Keep in mind E machines are hard to upgrade because they limit the amount of variables in the proprietary bios they write to their machines.
If you know how to get to the Bios setup screens you will be looking for anything that refers to the 'on board graphics/video' and disable it !
You may have to go to Emachines web site and search for the technical instructions that refer to your model , that should tell you what choises you have.

check out this newly found tool i stumbled upon at work the other day. the OEM MSI KT6V motherboard driver cd. this driver cd scans your device manager and automatically picks the compatible drivers that are availible on the cd for you to install. it's really amazing how many computers i've used this cd on... it has intel, VIA, SiS among other things and a bunch drivers for onboard sound/lan etc. it really is a must have for the tech that works on windows machines all the time. this driver cd has been used on almost every kind of OEM motherboard (dell, compaq, hp, w/e) and almost every socket processor from socket A to 939 on the AMD side and 370 to 775 on the intel side.

it might be hard to find this disc, but it's a great tool to have. i've only got a couple of copied KT6V discs and i use all of them all the time at work. (we do about 100 machines a week.)

I was having some freezing/BSOD problem with a certain very important program and I ended up reinstalling windows. I did so from a USB flashdisk but after windows was installed a lot of drivers seem to be missing. The laptop is a custom build and I don't have the cd with all the drivers since the disk is still at home, which is across the Atlantic Ocean so getting that isn't an option either.

The most important driver that seems to be missing as far as I can tell at the moment is the network adapter driver. Device Manager isn't recognizing the following devices:
- Ethernet Controller
- Network Controller
- PCI Device
- SM Bus Controller
- USB Controller

Windows Update isn't finding any drivers for those devices and I can't download them manually either since I don't know what I need to be looking for.

Any help is greatly appreciated since I've already been 2 days out of commission with the previous BSOD problem before I reinstalled windows. Let me know if you need me to supply any other information.

Thank You.

I saw in another thread it was asked to upload a dxdiag file so I attached that.

I wanted a clean slate for my computer so I reinstalled Windows 7 (not upgrade, i used custom)with just the disc. It's a custom built PC that my friend generously gave to me so I didn't have any manufacturers disc to work with. Anyway, it's always had an Internet connection through a wired connection, and after it finished booting it wouldn't let me connect to the net even with the ethernet cord plugged in. I quickly realized something must have happened to the driver in the process of reinstalling, and now I need to find the drivers to install them onto my computer again but I have no clue where to find them.

I've already tried uninstalling the drivers, and then scanning for hardware changes to get them to reinstall but it did not work. It still says there are issues. I also can't use Windows Update since well, I can't connect to the net. When I go to Devices and Printers, I see a ! By my comp name. I try to troubleshoot but it says my Universal Serial Bus Controller doesn't have a driver, and my Ethernet Controller doesn't have a driver. Here is a text file (Try to find "Problem Devices" in the text file that may help on the text file) I've attached with my system info let me know if you guys need any more info, I'd really appreciate any help on what drivers to get and/or how to fix this issue.

I have a Diamond WR300N repeater that I cannot get to work in conjunction with any of our Windows 7 computers. We have two Windows 7 laptops trying to connect via WiFi, and the main Windows 7 desktop connected with Ethernet to the Belkin router.

When the computers boot up, the network connection icon toggles between saying ?no internet connection? and ?unidentified network.? Now if I unplug the repeater, the computers will connect almost immediately. If I plug the repeater back in after they connect, there is no more issue until the next time the computers reboot.

The strange part is we have two Windows XP desktop computers down in the basement where the Diamond repeater is located, and they connect to the network with no trouble via WiFi. So I am finding it odd that this seems to be something with Windows 7.

I followed Diamond?s setup procedures exactly. I have tried resetting the router back to its factory default settings. I have looked at the DHCP list, and see no devices with duplicate IPs, even though I have had this error popup on the Windows 7 desktop.
I called Diamond?s tech support, and after 20 minutes they told me it?s my router?s problem and not their device, because my iphone and my Windows XP computers downstairs are getting a strong signal from the repeater with no issues downstairs.

Now I have posted this question on a couple other forums, and I just don?t seem to be getting any definitive answers. If I Google search th... Read more

A:Can't get Diamond repeater to work with Windows 7

Ok, so this is incredibly weird. I came home today and fired up the Windows 7 desktop. The repeater was already plugged in downstairs. Of course I get the red x alternative with the yellow ! again for the network connection. I right clicked and opened the Network and Sharing center. I then clicked on "See full map" and I got a message it couldn't show me a map because I haven't established whether this was a home or work connection or something along those lines. So I then went to the Choose Homegroup and Sharing options and I set it to a Home network. It then gave me some kind of password to use to set up other Windows 7 computers on a home network. I looked down in the right corner, and my computer was connected. So out of curiosity I rebooted the computer....computer connected right away to the network again. So then I shut down the computer completely, waited a few seconds and started it back up. This time I got the red x again. Once again I right clicked and opened the Network and Sharing center. I then went to "Change Adapter settings" I opened up the Realtek controller and and clicked on Properties....I then highlighted the TCP/IPv4. I made NO changes....I don't even know what I was looking for. I was just snooping around. I look down in the right corner, and I'm connected to the network again. I did absolutely nothing but just opening different settings pages within the network and sharing center, and all of a sudden my network co... Read more

It is not listed in any legacy driver package I've googled out, and when I had installed ATI Catalyst my system did not recognize the new video card properly (it just said unknown vga card and video controller in the device manager).
Thx in advance

Have you tried the Catalyst 10.2 package from here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownlo...px?type=2.4.1&product=
It supports the X1900 series but it may not support the AGP version since that card is a bit of an oddball.

You can also try using the HIS Catalyst 7.11 driver for similar generation AGP card such as this one: http://www.hisdigital.com/un/download1-423.shtml

Or anything else on my computer. What about my LAN card. Is there a driver or anything for that. Is there anything else I should look for a driver for on my computer. I would like to try and keep all my stuff up to date. I am kind of new at this. So I am trying to learn as much as I can. I would like any info at all about keeping my computer up to date. or Safe.

A:Finding Drivers

Download HWInfo32 and use the categories on the left to browse for your GPU, LAN card and any other drivers. Then look for those manufacturers via Google to find the necessary updates. That being said, last time I updated the driver for my Ethernet NIC it stopped working, so stick with your graphics and sound drivers.

A:Finding Drivers?

Searching for that I found "This New Mini Docking Station connects three USB Devices, 1 PS/2 Keyboard & 1 PS/2 Mouse."

For what do you need a driver? I had a similar mini docking station except that it also had parallel and serial ports. The only driver needed was for the serial port.

I found this site QUALCOMM / ATHEROS drivers for Microsoft Windows (Atheros的驅動程序) and clicked on the QCA9377 link under the "QUALCOMM ATHEROS WIRELESS DRIVERS" section and it took me to a page with multiple downloads. Ive have absolutely no idea where to go from here, does anyone know which driver i should download fro my computer?

Any chance we could get a sticky added to this forum recommending people first Google the exact model # of their computer before starting a new thread for a missing driver? 9 times out of ten, the first page of results has a link to the manufacturers' site with the driver they're looking for. It only takes a bit of common sense. If you have an hp, go to the link that has hp.com in it... and so on. Most of the time, drivers for vista will work in windows 7, and in almost every case, you don't even have to specify whether you have 32 or 64 bit windows because the download usually contains drivers for both.

A:finding drivers....

I see your point. But many times people don't realize they need a 32-bit or 64-bit driver, that their hardware is no longer supported for Win 7, that it might not be located at the mfg, but you can track it by the (let's say) chip mfg, etc. Google for a driver and you might not be directed to the mfg, and perhaps to a disreputable site. I think it's a good idea but don't know if it will have utility in the long run.

I have an older Gateway Laptop Computer (MX6445 Model SN T3568Y1004798). The hard drive failed and I have had to do a new install. Drivers for the Ethernet and modem did not load as well as some others. I have been unable to find ANY drivers that will be accepted by the computer as correct. I cannot get online to analyze for the correct hardware present and the software driver selections seem to be huge. How can I find the correct drivers???
