LENOVO THINKPAD 450s WON'T DETECT A SIM CARD

Q: LENOVO THINKPAD 450s WON'T DETECT A SIM CARD

Hello Guys. I'm running on ThinkPad T450s. I've tried to install a SIM card in its tray with no detection at all. After going through google, Wireless WAN, Ericsson® N5321 and Wireless WAN, Sierra Wireless EM7345 came into my attention. I went to my Device Manager where I found non of the adapters installed. Is it possible for them to be installed without being displayed on Device Manager? I've seen some suggestion to replace the current Wi-Fi adapter with Sierra Wireless EM7345. My concern is if I'll be in position to access Wi-Fi after its adapter being replaced with this Wireless WWAN adapter. Are these Wireless WWAN adapters provide access to Wi-Fi? Most of the Wireless WWAN adapters I've gone through eBay works with X230s X240 W540 T440P T440S W540; will these works well with this T450s of mine? Thanks in advance. Regards, Cathbert.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

HiMost likely the wwan card isn't installed in the laptop. Provide, please, its MTM code (it starts with 20BW or 20BX) to check out the factory configuration. If there are CTO symbols, send me laptop serial number via the forum private messages service.Only Lenovo approved wwan cards for T450s will work in the laptop, with appropriate service p/n (FRU).The wwan card will not work in the wlan slot, it even can't be fitted there. Of course, modern built-in wwan cards don't support wifi capabilities.

I'm trying to install drivers compatible with the laptop for lan connections but since the laptop does not detect any network devices, I am stuck. I've installed the LAN drivers for windows 10 for the specific laptop, no results.I tried installing the realtek software for ethernet lans for windows 7, no results. It keeps telling me it does not detect the correct device for the drivers. I've also tried the access point software, to no avail. Please help, thank you everyone in advance.Greets

Hello,I own a Thinkpad P50 and I found it has a SIM slot under the battery, when i put my SIM card inside it will not detect any connection eccept for WiFi connections. I read online that it had to be enabled in the BIOS and i checked, it was already enabled. Also I downloaded the WWAN Sierra Wireless Driver from the lenovo website and installed it, and nothing!I then checked in device manager to see if the driver was there, and all I saw was the Sierra Driver under "Sensors" (no idea why it wouldn't be under the "Network" tab but ok...) I saw in a different form that this issue could be fixed by downloading a Sierra OCT tool but I got an error message saying that the modem couldn't be detected.also I checked windows System Information and when i clicked on modem there were no informations for the modem.I'm completely lost, I don't know what else to try....can anybody help?

Hello everyone,i'll try to give the most details i can.I just bought a 2nd hand t470s, and started by reinstalling windows from a usb bootable win10 i had at home.Everything worked fine except for the wifi card : i dosnt show anywhere. i cant see it on the device manager, its not greyed out nor hidden. Everything up to date, from windows update, to single driver update from the device manager, the intel update tool or even all the lenovo support drivers.I finally asked the support for a clean win10 pro update using my serial number. reinstalled everything clean, but still no wifi card detected. I switch with a killer 1535 from my other laptop : the ac 8265 worked on my other laptop, but i couldnt get the killer 1535 to work on my 470s (i could see it in the devicer manager but kept getting greyed out..).I spent the last 4 days on it and i feel like i read all the google pages that couldve helpt me.

Hi,I have in the past had a lot of problems with my Nvidia K2000M on my W530. Windows have kept disabling this due to "code 43" (Yellow triangle by the display driver).I have solved this by reinstalling Nvidia drivers, but when this happened every 3 days or so, I started to suspect something was wrong. And I believe I was right.... I tried to uninstall the driver (probably a mistake) before reinstalling the driver, but now the graphics card cannot be detected at all. When I try to install Nvidia drivers I get the following error message: "NVIDIA Installer cannot continue. This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". I also tried to disable optimus in BIOS, and enabled discrete graphics to try to force the computer to find the NVIDIA graphics card, but this obviously didn´t work. The computer then starts up with low graphcis and bad resolution. Under "Display adapters" in Device Manager there is no card detected at all (As the Intel integrated was disabled). So, is my NVIDIA graphics card defective, or is there som other solution to try to detect it? PS! I Also did a system update through Lenovos update center. Updated firmware in BIOS etc. This did not solve the problem..... Thanks,-ř

Hi, Dec 2016 I purchased a new T450s to replace my dead and much loved T61p and then a used T61.  Man, I loved that T61p. I bought the T450s with Windows 10 downgraded to Windows 7 pro.  I migrated the installed os to a new Samsung SSD pretty promptly and things were ok for awhile.  Only ok, because honestly, it seems like this T450s underperforms compared to the old T61p. This post is kind of going to be a mess because it is kind of about:- How to access windows 10 when you bought windows 10 downgraded to windows 7 pro- Why my machines performance stinks- Why I can't perform windows update anymore First, I have windows 7 pro as a downgrade from windows 10.  Since I'm having issues with windows update and performance with windows 7 pro, I'd like to go ahead and switch to windows 10.  However, I can't figure out how to do that.  Second, lately, my internet performance has been sporadically bad, one of my two cores will wedge at 50%.  I had to kill access connections because it was struggling to connect to wi-fi access points.  It would insist on trying to connect to whatever previous wifi I had accessed and refuse to connect to new wifi.  After switching to windows management of the wifi connections, I'm having a better experience. But my internet performance is often terrible.  As though I'm downloading a large file while surfing the internet. Third, I can't perform windows update. I'm kind of thinking... Read more

I posted a similar question earlier and people referred me to the Yoga (much appreciated).  However, I was interested in the 2.6 lb carbon version with touch screen capabilities.  Asus has a Spin 7 model that is very good at 2.65lb, but I miss the red mouse toggle in the middle of the keyboard and Asus's track pad was designed too large....causing unintended tapping.  The Yoga, while nice, is heavier than I was looking for.  The 14 inch screen is about 3.3lb? the 12 inch at 3? I thought that some of the earlier Thinkpad Carbons had touch screen and was hoping they would make a return soon.  Thanks,

When I dock the computer and press the power button on the dock it doesn't recognize my monitor as the main screen. I have to hit a key (Windows 10) and put in my password hoping that it's doing that and then the screen comes up. If I reboot after that ... THEN.... it recognizes my screen as the main monitor. How do I fix this? The only time this happens is when I use it off the dock and then put it back on. If it stays on the dock all the time it does just fine. Any fixes for this? Thanks...

My organization utilizes quite a few Thinkpad Yoga S1s (20C0 and 20DK), all of them seem to have issues with the wireless adapters, they will intermittently stop detecting any wireless networks. We have noticed that this seems to happen most often when moving the laptop either between APs or to different wifi networks, and to get it to work again we either have to disable then re-enable the wireless AC adapter's driver or reboot, sometimes needing to do both. We have tried more recent drivers and it doesn't seem to have much effect, has anyone else seen this issue and do you have a resolution? Thanks

A:Thinkpad Yoga S1 wont detect wireless networks

You don't mention operating system?  It is hard to diagnose without seeing it, but try this:

Under device manager/network adapters, right-click the wireless card and select properties.  On the power management tab, uncheck the option that allows the computer to turn the device off to save power.

Hi, My P51 laptop boots up but does not show the lenovo sign. I'm aware of the power surge problem, where you disconnect the battery and power cord and then hold the power button for about 45 seconds.  I usually need to try this several times in order for it to work (while doing a cold reboot everytime). The confusing thing is that after 5-6 tries of what I just mentioned, the laptop eventually boots up as normal, and if I were to just restart the laptop everything would work fine. I'm not sure what exactly is causing the issue here, is it the power supply or is it a problem with the mother board ? Advice is appreciated.
