Roku/Netflix issues and router restarting issues

Q: Roku/Netflix issues and router restarting issues

Hi, I hope someone can help me

Over the last few months I have been having intermittent problems watching Netflix on my Roku media streamer. (I could listen to the radio on there all day no issue). If I try and watch anything, after a short while it cuts out and the Roku has been disconnected from the Wireless Connection. I connect it again and I can watch some more Netflix... sometimes this happens 5+ times in one episode. Occasionally I get to watch a whole episode.

I spoke to tech support at Roku and was told to assign a DNS on my internet provider, they gave me the details and I got a tech minded friend to do it. Didn't help.

Another problem is my router will restart its self at least a couple of times a week. First off my laptop is unable to connect to the internet, then the router restarts and takes ages to connect to the internet again.

I spoke to talktalk tonight and apparently my connection is running a little slow, they have ''refreshed the connection'' and I've to keep an eye on it over the next couple of days and get back in touch with them if it persists.
I just feel like I need some (or a lot) more info on what I think I am talking about because I have no idea if they are just messing me around. I can't connect my Roku to the router with a wire it is wireless only. I don't have an ethernet cable to connect my laptop to the router either.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm trying to set up my Roku by connecting it to my desktop and using ICS (to let the Roku make use of the much better signal that the desktop gets).

This works fine, the Roku connects and can stream easily. Unfortunately, the desktop now seems to have something wrong with it's connection, things like Steam and Teamspeak are fine and stay working, but I can't load any webpages, ping or tracert from cmd.

I figure something might be wrong with the DNS, but resetting all the different components hasn't helped.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I purchased the Netflix Player from Roku. Contrary to what they claim, it's NOT easy to setup. What they don't tell you is you need to connect it to a router. I don't have a router, I subscribe to Comcast cable internet, and the cable goes to the modem, then the ethernet cord from the modem to the computer. I wasn't going to get a router just to be able to watch the instant movies on my TV, so I offered it to a friend who said he was thinking of getting one.

Friend said what I needed is an ethernet hub. Ok, got a 4-port one from Best Buy, only $20, I can deal with that. It's made by Dynex, and actually has 5 ports in the back, that's the first thing I don't understand.

Looking at the ports in the back of the hub, I'll call them #1-5 from left to right:

Cable connection goes from wall directly to modem, I didn't mess with that. I have an ethernet cable going from computer to port #2, another one from port #5 to the modem, then another one going from port #1 to the Neflix Player. Netflix Player menu comes on the TV, confirms ethernet cable connection, but then says it "can't connect to your local network" and just stops there.

My online access to the internet is ok, I'm typing on it now (obviously), so it's not like there's no internet disconnect.

Of course, the instructions with this "easy" player are scant, no trouble-shooting tips at all. What am I doing wrong here?

A:Solved: Roku Netflix player, can't find LAN

You need a router. A hub isn't going to work. Your friend was mistaken.

Roku probably didn't say a router was required because it says a network connection is required. You can probably connect the modem directly to the Roku. If you want to use two devices on the same network connection at the same time, you need a router.

i recently bought this laptop, the hp pavilion x360, with netflix predownloaded on the laptop. The netflix app was easy to access beforehand but i did not have an account. Today I opened the app to register but it will not launch. each time i attempt to launch Netflix, it says "check your account. netflix is currently not available to you. go to the store"what do i do and i how do i fix this, because i intend on using Netflix but it is 'not available'  to me.

A:issues with launching netflix

If you have an account you can just go to the netflix website and log in online.  I believe the originally installed app is a trial version to get you hooked on netflix (easy to do). I would uninstall the app and just run netflix from the website.

Hi, The specs of your machine is similar to the following machine:       http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Mini-110-3100-PC-series/4247541/document/c02495435/ It is a weak machine, mainly for simple internet, simple email and light office works. Videos, specially high resolution videos, require better CPU, more RAM and good graphics. Your machine does not have those. Regards.

I am trying to play a movie through the updated netflix app and the video just flickers .  Not sure if this is a Yoga issue or Netflix problem.  I have tried reloading the app and rebooting.  I thought it may be a Yoga issue if both of my Yogas are having the same exact issue. Video plays fine through any other app or browser.  Thanks for your help.

The problem I am having with Age of Mythology(and all my games for that matter) is nobody outside my network can access my home pc's. My home pc's can game together with no problem. What I am trying to do is "host" a game using 1 of my 2 pc's and have other people connect to me. Netgear tech support is worthless and they keep giving me a guy who hardly speaks english and reads off Que cards. They keep telling me I need to turn on port forwarding and that I have to contact the game manufacturer to get those numbers and after all that only 1 of my 2 pc's can be accessed. There has got to be a way I can "host" a game from my house and have people connect to me. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

This morning their were updates in app store for MSN Money, Sport and News. All updated fine. This evening I ran check for updates and MSN Money, MSN News (again) and also Netflix are offered. But every time I try to update them I get 'Give Us a Few Minutes' Something Went Wrong At Our End - Error code 0x80244022

Anyone else getting the same. The message indicates MS fault at their end but I don't necessarily trust the info fed back.

I think there have been some problems with the MSN servers today. I have had problems with the MSN websites and for me it was the four MSN apps: Money, Weather, News and Sport that were all downloaded this morning and offered again this evening.

I ran updates on 4/16 on both this desktop and a laptop. The laptop (Windows 7 Pro) had many more updates but is working fine. The desktop (W7 Home Premium) is having two main issues. I did not set a restore point but I wanted to ask the pros because it has been driving me nuts.

Youtube and Netflix will not play.
At first I thought it was firefox but it is in IE as well. I went through numerous steps in Firefox to try to get it work. I even tried installing the 64 bit version which did not fix it. (Currently it is uninstalled). Both players will load the video, it is buffering but only the first frames shows. If I try to skip ahead normally it locks up. If I go to you tube in IE right now, it will just freeze, possibly because I've uninstalled all flash now. But the issue before was the same, the video loads just not advance the frame. I did not do additional troubleshooting in IE as I haven't used it in years just was testing.

Next some programs will not load even though they execute. This does not coincide exactly with the updates as it started happening on the 19th.

For example, Steam will execute (from start menu) but it will not launch.
Also, my favorite game-- a short cut on the desktop-- will not launch. It will also not launch from the source on C:. It will flash a second of it's launcher and usually a screen immediately loads but it also just sits in the Processes screen. I tried launching as admin and disabling antivirus. Okay, About three months ago, I got hacked HARD...permissions were changed, administrator rights were removed from my administrator accounts, etc. i was flabbergasted. THe iactually didn't bother me though until I ran a MBAM scan and found 133 viruses and spyware instances on my drive (NOT including tracking cookies!). I cleaned and recleaned, using MBAM, SuperantiSpyware, Avira, running each one in safe mode first, then loading into my normal account and running them, and finally erasing my user account and creating a new one. But even after the new user account was created with Administrator privileges, I still routinely received virus and Malware threat warnign flags from MBAM and Avira. Eventually, Avira and MBAM were disabled and Avira was "deleted" (Windows will not uninstall because the setup.exe file has been 'Changed" and won't reinstall it because I don't have "Administrator privileges" on my Administrator accounts!) even though at startup I receive an error message saying that Avira has been corrupted. The most telling issue is that antivirus and spyware/Malware scans come up clean on Safe mode scans, but using my normal account, the machine reboots. Using Superantispyware I notice that it's always during the memory test that this occurs (and in Safe Mode, it passes through this section with no issue). None of my antivirus programs will download updates, even ones I start manually, and although I have no problem acc... Read more

So my computer would get a bluescreen or just restart when i wasn't paying attention. The past couple days it was impossible to restart and get it running. Today when I decided to look into it I couldn't restart and it would try to recover or something similar to that( the screen would be reminiscent of a installation{which I thought odd since the windows CD is not in}) I was barely able to get on safemode and that had no internet. When I restarted this last time it allowed me to come up in regular windows for the first time in days. The last thing I did before it went haywire was install window updates.

AS a sidenote, the DDS text file came up but the attach.txt never did come up. Perhaps it is just taking a very very long time?

And another side note : TO see items on my desktop that have been moved there I have to refresh before they can be seen. That is new to me.

[Edit - also I can't shut down without doing a hard shut down]

[Edit 2 - I would provide more information by restarting but I doubt I will be able to get online on this computer if I do again.]

Edit 3 - Just now got the attach.txt.

We recently connected the Netgear WNR2000 to our modem. All wireless devices connect just fine, except for our Roku XD. It says there is an activation error. I've reset the box, unplugged, changed the channel via wireless settings. What's next??? I'm quite frustrated and would like to get this to work. The message I get is "activation issue. There was a problem connecting to the Roku server". Argh!! It was working fine with the other wireless modem/router (versalink 327W), but it kept going off (as in the signal would drop and we would have to turn it off/on to get it to work) and connected the netgear router to it today. So now the wireless signal is fine and all other devices connect, but the Roku won't work.

Hi,

I'll try to be as short as possible and not to bore you. After two weeks of not using my PC, it refused to start. Nothing appeared on my display and I got the feeling it just kept resetting before anything could be displayed.

After a day or so.. I tried starting it again. It worked. Now I can't touch it while it's running since it'll just crash if I do.

Now, month after, I'm encountering another issue. It randomly crashes and restarts. No errors, no blue screens.. it just goes dark and restarts itself.

When it does, if I don't shut it down and start it again.. it doesn't start, again not showing me anything on my display.

When I first encountered the problem (when it didn't start) I tried the following with no success:

- Replaced the power supply / source
- Replaced the video-card
- Replaced the RAMS
- Took out and plugged in everything after cleaning

How can I find out what's wrong it it..? I'm guessing it must be either the motherboard or the processor.. but I can't be sure (since I had no replacements for them)

When it restarts now, quite often I might add, it's completely random. Sometimes twice in a row.. sometimes while I work.. sometimes when the PC is idle..

Any ideas?

Thank you,
Andrei

A:System Restarting after other issues

most of the times this issue is related with over heating or bad power

Lets start with few things
1) list the spec of all hardware in your computer
2) What version of windows
3) List the powersupply you had before if you remember and the current powersupply specs

go into BIOS
check the temps in there
Check the voltages
If possible take a pic and post here or note them down and post them here

Have you cleaned the Heatsink/fan using compressed air can ?
Are you using a power surge protector or PC is plugged directly into the wall?

This is an ongoing issue I've had for a while now. My computer would typically restart once on startup and then go into windows no prob (running XP pro w/ SP2, came on the disk) though at one time I do remember that fast startup. I was getting more and more frustrated and finally broke when it got stuck in a restart loop and I could not start up windows in regular or safe mode. Repaired it so I could at least get on and rescue a few docs then reloaded windows.

Reloading commenced on Sunday night, went smooth, installed the minimum though I could probably go less. During the installing and updating restarted the comp numerous times and never ran into the restart issue. Thinking my problem was solved I did a little happy dance and went to bed.

Yesterday b/f turns on computer to load one of his school programs and it does one restart. I get home, he tells me, I turn computer on and get a couple before windows finally loads. Mumble and grumble about throwing it out the window and I check the Microsoft support, find a lil article about unchecking the restart on error box and think what the heck, I can just reinstall again. Now the computer does not start up but I can read the errors.

I know this is getting long, but here are the numbers I received this morning:
1st startup: Stop:c000021a {fatal system error} The session manager initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc00002c (0x00000000 0x00000000)

I just now was able to install all of the necessary important updates, and I also did a "chkdsk" and found no errors. Should I see how it's running after all the updates are finally done and wait a little longer? Seems strange I'm having all of these problems on a fresh install.

Well, as the title says, I am experiencing difficultly in getting the NAT setting on my Xbox 360 to Open status. I've searched in many places on the internet, including these forums for an answer and I've yet to find one which solves my issues, so I decided it was time to finally ask for help.

What I'm working currently working with is the Embarq P600R ADSL modem/router combo (If there's a more specific name for it, I don't know it as I don't have the packaging - I'm simply going by what was printed on the modem itself) working through my Linksys WRT54GS router by way of the ethernet ports of both units. The WRT54GS is then hardwired to four different computers, and broadcasts to my Xbox 360 wirelessly via microsoft's network adapter specifically designed for the unit (compatability between the adapter and router isn't an issue, just trying to cover all my bases). Because of this, all of the LAN ports on my WRT54GS are currently being used, preventing me from attempting to simply make my WRT54GS act as only access point, since to my knowledge I would need to plug the modem/router into one of its LAN ports instead of the ethernet port.

Thus far I've tried enabling UPnP on both units, setting up a DMZ for my 360's IP on the WRT, and Forwarding Ports 88 (TCP/UDP) and 3074 (TCP/UDP) on the WRT, both individually and simultaneously.

I also had somewhat of a breakthrough when I switched the P600R to bridge mode, as it gave ... Read more

The problem is that I get random shutdowns without warning and the PC fails to reboot. When this occurs, it's as if the reset button has been pressed, but the power light stays on but it doesn't get even as far as the post screen and I don't get the "beep".

If I manually turn off and try to turn back on, I get the post screen but it hangs there with no option for BIOS, recovery or safe mode. If I leave it a bit longer before restarting, it will either go past the post screen and just give me a flashing cursor in the top left of a blank black screen, or boot normally. This is also the case if I shut down or restart normally through windows.

I've run checkdisk a couple of times, although I still have to wait for it to run at next startup which could be a while!. It did fix a couple of issues, but not solve the problem.

Usually, when Windows restarts, I get the following error message:

BCCode: 1000000a BCP1: 00000100 BCP2: 00000002 BCP3: 00000001

The Windows help centre suggests a problem with many different bits of hardware, and I'm expecting to have to replace something, but I need to identify which is the problem first.

I'm hoping to upgrade to Windows 7 asap, but don't want to if this is a hardware problem and a new OS won't fix it.

The really annoying thing is that there doesn't seem to be any relation between uptime, or specific applications and these crashes. It can happen af... Read more

Yesterday I worked on my laptop and all of a sudden it crashed which should not have been a big deal as sometimes systems crash so I rebooted my machine and whenever the Windows loading screen would show up it would crash again & again after multiple attempts I un-installed my recent softwares and again no luck at times the system would log me in but after a few short minutes it would again crash and reboot itself. After trying everything I could find in the book I tried to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit but again I was not successful in that either.

It seemed to me as per the errors I kept getting that there seemed to be an issue with my RAM but to make sure I was wrong I than installed a lighter version of Windows which was Windows XP to see what happens so far after all the hassle and agony I have installed Windows XP and it has not crashed although my darn Firefox browser is being a pain in the neck :) so what I want from you guys if you can please help me figure out the following questions I know it pretty sure but still it's better to get an expert advice as well

I NEED TO KNOW AS PER THE SCREENSHOT ERRORS YOU SEE DO I NEED TO DO?
DO I NEED TO GET A NEW RAM? IF SO DO I NEED TO REPLACE IT WITH 2GB AGAIN OR 4GB?
DO I NEED TO GET A WHOLE NEW SYSTEM AT THIS POINT?

If both tests pass, download the ISO image for Memtest in my signature. Burn with IMGBurn and boot off of the newly created CD. Remove all but one stick of RAM and run the tests on each stick of RAM separately. If you get any Errors (red) that stick needs to be replaced

Ok, Well.
My computer has been having many issues over the past few months, which have been extremely annoying.

Firstly, When I try to turn on my computer it gets stuck at the black screen which has the Windows XP logo and loading bar.
After it's been on that page for a while, i restart my computer.. with the same result. It doesn't matter if i leave it on that page for hours (Trust me, I've tried)
I need to restart it at least 3-4 times for it to turn on.

Secondly, my computer randomly restarts itself.
Sometimes my computer has been running for a few hours, sometimes even 5 minutes.. then it restarts.
And that restart isn't always sucessful, sometinmes this also causes the computers to get stuck on the black Windows XP page too.

Lastly, My computer just has many other faults and It just doesn't run smoothly.
For example, sometimes it won't let me go on IE. It'll open the internet page then close is 1-2 seconds after.
Another example, Whenever I turn on the computer the time is wrong. I then set it to the right time, but when i turn it off, and turn it on again, the time is wrong. (I'm pretty sure this has something to do with a battery inside the computer)

I have previously run Malbytes Anti-Malware and all my viruses were removed, but I think that somehow corrupted some files as I cannot run system restore anymore (Yes, I have turned off system restore and turned it back on, with no success), I can't run 'Error-checking' eithe... Read more

My suggestion is to immediately back up all your important files to an external device. Either burn them to disk, purchase an external hard drive or flash drive of adequate capacity and move them to it.Then post HERE.Your PC displays all the symptoms of either still being infected or post infection damage from incomplete removal of infections.

Insert the Windows XP CD into the CD drive, and then restart the computer. Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD drive if you are prompted. When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console. When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.Type: chkdsk /rIt's important to have a space before the "/".To exit the Recovery Console and restart the computer, type exit at the command prompt, and then press ENTER.

Hi,

I am trying to register a shell context menu dll in Windows7. For that it needed explorer to be restarted. I use inno setup(installer script) and in that script I tried to restart the explorer as an Administrator.

1. Stop Explorer
2. Register the DLL
3. Start Explorer.

When the explorer is restarted the default systray icons and quick launch icons are disappeared.

I have face the same issue if I try the explorer restart in Administrator command prompt.

If I stop the explorer in task manager and then restart via task manager all the icons come back without any issue.

but the context menu option (Right click context menu option created by me) has not been listed.

Has any one face this issue.?? is there any way to fix this.

Thanks in Advance.

A:Windows 7 Issues while restarting Explorer

Context Menu not showing issue has been fixed. I will only show the contextmenu if the application is running. Since my app is installed as a system service, it can't be find
by DLL. That is the issue..

I have fixed this by creating a file whenever the service get started and delete that when service stopped. By checking the existence of the file, I show the context menu..

k.. thanks.

Two weeks ago my wife and her dad were using my laptop and when I got it back, explorer.exe was restarting every few seconds. After doing some searching around on the topic, I found the suggestion to use ComboFix. I ran that along with Malwarebytes and the restarting explorer.exe went away. I uninstalled my old antivirus(Avast) and have tried three new AV's: Kaspersky, BitDefender, and AVG. I was not able to complete a virus definition update or a virus scan with any of them, the PC would lock up and require a restart. With the newest AV I installed, AVG, not only can I not complete a scan but the restarting explorer.exe has returned.

I have attached my DDS logs. I didn't scan with GMER because it gave me the warning, "GMER has found system modification, which might have been caused by ROOTKIT activity."

Hello, I am a bit of a hard time with 2 routers on one network and unfortunately as things stand now they both have to be there. So I just got ADSL and the only modem option available to me was one with a 4-port wired router, I hooked that up into my existing network of about 9 computers (5 laptops and 4 desktops) which is connected by another 4-port WiFi router.

I started out with my only goal of hooking 3 of these computers to the internet after I got the DSL by some MAC filtering configured in the WiFi router. But, having the DSL modem/router has created another issue. I am using 2 separate IP gateways for both the routers which are in the same subset, I can connect to both of them from all my machines. The problem is I don't have any control over which computer connects to what router. I am trying to avoid setting each PC up with a static IP that needs internet access.

Here is my setup in more detail. My ADSL router is 192.168.1.254 and my WiFi router is 192.168.1.111 and both have the subnet 255.255.255.0. My ADSL connection has dynamic IP and the modem/router is connected into a LAN port on the WiFi router. I have tried disabling DHCP on the modem/router and changed my WiFi router IP to that of the modem (which was counter productive) to no avail. Someone mentioned MAC address cloning but I am not sure if it will work in this setup. Since I configured this I am seeing quite a few IP conflicts, which are probably my fault as I didn't check when I was setting... Read more

My Acer Aspire V5 laptop (Windows 8.1) has been having problems waking from sleep mode the last few months. The computer wakes up with the fan running, keyboard lights on, etc, but the screen doesn't turn on. If I have a second monitor plugged in, then the second monitor occasionally will run as the main screen upon start up while the laptop screen is black. Sometimes the screen will display the "Acer" initial startup screen and then go black.

Manual restart of the computer will sometimes work after several restarts. I do a power drain if this doesn't work (turn off computer, unplug, remove battery, hold down on/off button for ~1 min, replace battery, plug in computer, turn on). Most of the time this allows the computer to turn back on normally.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this happens so I can attempt a permanent fix? Is there residual power left or static in the hardware that causes the screen to malfunction? I use my laptop for work, so am constantly transporting it back and forth in sleep mode so I can leave applications open.

Hey people,

Recently my PSU failed and I replaced it.

Shortly after, I managed to get a virus which infected quite a few dll files. I've removed the virus now.

Since getting rid of the virus, my computer has been restarting itself at random intervals, although more often than not shortly after restarting. It can happen 4 or so times in a row, and once it's been up for 10 minutes it's usually stable.

I've read around and these are the steps I've taken (to no avail):
--> turning off automatic restart (so the computer goes to BSOD rather than restarting - though this has not worked, the BSOD does not show)
--> updating graphics driver

I was wondering if it's possible the virus I had has infected some parts of Windows which is leading to the restarting, or if the power supply is at fault, or something I'm not thinking of.

I'd really appreciate it if anybody could point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

The only way you will ever be sure, and the fastest way to get back going is a clean install.

Do you have the win 7 dvd?

Do you have a backup from before the problem started?

Hey guys,

I've been trying to help my friend get her computer issues worked out for a while now. She's quite a few states away from me, so I can't be there physically to look at the hardware, and test stuff to get a verdict. The problems have been this:

During gaming, MMORPGS specifically; Neverwinter Nights, City of Heroes, World of Warcraft, there has been something that has caused either the application itself to close/generate a crash error, or the computer gets a BSOD + error message and automatically restarts.

First I tried getting her drivers updated. DirectX, video card, etc in hopes that it wasn't a hardware issue. Turns out none of that helped. For a little bit I had the same problem, and it ended up being overheating. Caused my computer to restart, but errors weren't generated. Nothing in BIOS suggested overclocking; so I'm assuming that isn't the issue. Next thing I thought could be the problem was bad RAM. RAM was interchanged (two different 512MB sticks), both high quality pieces, no difference shown. So, now it's down to what? The motherboard or the harddrive? I wouldn't expect the CPU or video card to be the problem with these sorts of errors. Power supply is also more than adequate for the PC, so that's not it either. Through a little exploring, I found out about "Eventvwr.msc" and had her run that and take a look at the errors. The system errors were all

You could try a chkdsk /f to be run at the next boot. Find this option in Disk Management.
There is also a program called HDD Regenerator, which does just that, regenerate the HD without destroying anything on it. www.dposoft.net
Works like a charm.
Do not underestimate the importance of a GOOD powersupply. Some 500w PSUs crap out at relatively small loads, other 350w PSUs happily drive a AMD64, latest ATIcard and 10 drives etc. without batting an eyelid.

I am writing here from another system as my main PC has caught something nasty and is not working for squat.

Ok, I was getting pop-ups for yet another fake anti-virus warning, so I guessed I had gotten a nasty malware thing as I have in the past. So, I run my antivirus/malware removal software (SpyBot SD), and it found a boatload of junk and supposedly fixed. I rebooted and now it restarts itself approximately 10 seconds after it is finished booting up. over and over it does this.

I try to restart in safe mode, doing the usual F8, and select the option for safe mode, and it just brings me back to that options screen. It matters not if I am selecting Safe Mode, Safe Mode With Networking... the only thing it will boot back up with is normal standard mode. And of course as soon as it is done booting up, it restarts itself. I cant run any programs on it, it does not stay up long enough for me to even launch a browser.

I recently bought a computer, in december last year
Dell Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU
5130 @2.00GHz
2.00 GHz, 3GB of RAM
Running on Windows XP professional and with an ASUS EAH4350 silent 1GB graphics card and yes all drivers are installed and up to date

The problem i have is that when i turn my computer on it says no devices found and that AHCI BIOS is not installed, and when i am on my computer (mostly when playing games) my screen (which is an Akura 19" LCD TV/DVD combi) goes to blue screen and says 'no signal' and any music that was playing becomes a loud repeated thumping like when a cd gets stuck. The only option i have is to turn the computer off via the on/off button by holding it in until it turns off. After this my computer wont restart for 2-3 tries and instead when i press the on button a small 4 lights up on the front and it makes a 3 second buzzing noise repeated with a second inbetween and does not load up, so i have to turn it off via the button.

Any ideas whats wrong? and what does AHCI BIOS not installed actually mean?

A:No devices found, AHCI BIOS not installed, blue screen issues and problems restarting

Do you have a single drive or multiple drives setup in a RAID configuration? The message you are seeing is fine (and normal) if you have no RAID. It usually will just pass it so quickly that you didn't notice it was there. How long have you let the pc set at that error message?

im currently hosting a deticated counterstrike source server behind a router, its working now and all the ports are fowarded. DHCP on the second router is off, i dont know where to go from here. let me know any advice.

A:issues bridging from router to router

First off, since you actually want the NAT layer to be active, I'm not sure that you actually want to disable DHCP. In this scenario, you also don't want any bridging, since as you say, this is a private network.

How about starting with the make/model of each of the router?

my goal is to be able to share my media server wired to the slave (linksys router) to the ps3 wireless on the cable router.

i have read several posts on how to combine 2 routers into one.

what i have atm, the linksys is plugged from wan(or internet) to the lan#1 on the cable router.
router a (cable router) ip 192.168.101.1
router b (linksys) ip 192.168.102.1

both have wireless and i am using my lgx110 net book to config both wirelessly.

when i have the linksys set to 192.168.101.2 i lose it. cannot enter config from html. but i can still edit router a settings of router a, from router b

the ip ranges are staggered for dhcp to not interfere with each other.... i turn off dhcp on router b and lose connection access to internet and router b.

i've tried lan port to lan port also but no connection, due to the nature of router a i do not have access to all the settings, or at least its set up un-logically (yes i used un)

Just for a test.Disable your encryption and see if you can access the internet.
If so,and your other devices support it,enable encryption using WPA,and see if you can access the net.
And this is probably not the issue ,but,Do you have MAC address filtering enabled on the router?
