I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Video used to work fine on my Lenovo 10" tablet. However, now after about 30 seconds of video, I get the error message "Unfortunately, video has stopped"

Hey CommunityI encountered a rather strange problem yesterday when my wife turned on her Lenovo we bought a month ago. It is possible to enter the PIN at the Win10 startup page, but as soon as we enter Windows, no(!) key works. Neither Keypad nor Keyboard. We tried:- accessing the Bios, which works and in which the Keyboard works normally- deleting the Keyboard PS/2 Driver from the Hardware Setting Menue, which results in a re-installation of this driver but still the error remains- plugging in a USB keyboard which interestingly receives power and the volume buttons works, but here the same, the keys do not function (and this one also does not work at the windows pin screen).- waited until Win10 installed all updates, even the anniversary update, but still nothing changed (was my last hope. D'oh!). Right now I'm quite lost and don't see why things do not work. Really need some help here...Thank you in advance BTW: It's a  Lenovo B50-80 80EW0521GE as far as I understand it.

Hello all! I write to you today from an external keyboard placed on top of my laptop, because my keyboard stopped working last night, first by losing an e key, than a r key, and then, when I restarted the laptop, thinking it would be solved by doing so, the entire keyboard would not work past a certain point in windows boot. It does work in BIOS and I can even watch caps lock light up and go off and turn the backlight on and off.Things to note1) The last software change was 2 days before this happened. It was an update to Windows 10. which is my OS.2) My system restore points will not work due to an issue with AppXstaging (not sure if solvable).3)There are two HID compliant devices in my keyboard section on device manager. and a ps2 compatabile keyboard (which is the one I'm typing on right now) 4) I emphasize that the keyboard DOES WORK in BIOS and during boot, up until the point I can see my windows icon, and Cortana. Things I've tried1) sfc scannow comes back with there being issues it couldn't fix as well as ones it fixed2) chkdsk enjoyed scanning my computer for 5 hours last night and fixing some issues3) I do have an event viewer full of errors regarding filter manager and storage, but nothing I could see with the keyboard.4) Black majik5) I have uninstalled so many devices from device manager to let them install that my mouse hands hurt. Perhaps the place in the boot process it is freezing is when the driver reinstalls?6) The problem still occurs in SAFE mode... Read more

Hi Rose,
Welcome to Lenovo Forums.
About the keyboard issue I am not sure. I have heard that there is another Patch update for Win 10 that has been released, you may want to check and install that in Windows Update functionality.
Method 1:
Try to remove keyboard device via device manager (right click my computer > manage > device management > keyboards > find your keyboard > right click and select remove > then restart your computer)
Method 2:
If the keyboard is working fine on the login screen and then suddenly stops functioning when you get to the desktop / metro screen then the problem might be with the Filter Keys - similar to this thread.
Try to turn off Filter Keys by going to Control Panel > Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center > Make the keyboard easier to use > uncheck Turn on Filter Keys then hit apply.
Link to picture
If same problem, you may want to consider doing a clean windows.
Method 3:
If it doesn't work, you may need to replace the keyboard, contact Lenovo service centres and ask for replacement for free if you have valid warranty.
Let us know how you get on.
Tap that kudos button if I helped  If you find a post helpful and it answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution"!

Hello there all, I hope you are having a nice day/night while reading my post  Recently Im having a quite uncomfortable problem with my Lenovo. As the title says, it stops running, to be honest, mostly when playing League of Legends. Very rarely while doing other things, like surfing on the web, perhaps more often when playing other games than League It's hard for me to figure up, why does it happen. My laptot is fairly new (4-5 months), and it has not been damaged or awashed by water And there we go to the second problem, which is connecting with WiFi. It just randomly does not show any will to connect with web spots. Sometimes, it works just fine. I installed WiFi/Router drivers, and it hasn't got any better The third, and the last problem is, that my headphones sometimes don't run. Rather randomly, when I plug them in, or when I turn on the computer while they are already plugged If anyone can help me with any of these problems above, I will be very grateful My operating system is Windows 10

Hi everyone, I bought this laptop about 3 months ago and I'm loving it so far. But every so often the keyboard would just stop working and when I try shutting it off, it would go through the entire shutting off process and the screen goes black but all the lights and fan would still be on. I am then forced to hold the power button down to force it off. When I restart the computer instead, it would take me to the blue screen where it would say "Windows has ran into an unexpected error" then the screen would turn black again and everything else would be on. Anyone have any idea or solution to what's going on? Thanks in advnace!

I have literally tried every single thing I can think of. I've had two computer technicians try different things, I've contacted Monoprice support, and nothing is working.

I recently (within the last week) bought a Monoprice MP1060-HA60 (PID 6814) graphics drawing tablet. The pressure sensitivity works but after an undetermined amount of time (can be anywhere from a few seconds to 10 minutes) the tablet stops controlling the mouse. The light on the tablet still lights up when the pen makes contact. I'm wondering if anyone else in the community has had this issue and found something that works?

I've tried the following:
- Installing the drivers from the CD. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times.
- Installing the drivers from the website. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times. There are two versions.

- Installing the Legacy drivers from the UC-Logic website (this worked for a few seconds before causing the tablet to freeze.) Uninstalled and reinstalled several times.
- Installing Photoshop CC 32-bit (since I run a 64-bit system.) Nope.
- Installed an older version of Photoshop (CS6). Works for a few minutes before stopping.

- Tried running Photoshop 64-bit and 32-bit both in compatibility mode with the tablet. Nope.
- Tried messing with all of the settings, nope.
- If I go into Brush Preferences > Shape Dynamics, there is an exclamation mark by the "pressure sensitivity" setting saying that Photoshop needs a pressure-sensitive tab... Read more

I got a new Inspiron 15 - 7568. As soon as I flip it into tablet configuration (whether I choose tablet mode or not), touch stops working. Only way to get it to work is to restart the notebook.
When touch is not working, Win 10 reports no touch capability and in Device Manager one USB device has an error "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed". After the restart everything is in order, until try to get it into tablet configuration.
Already updated, drivers, BIOS etc to the latest on Dell site.
I tried disabling USB selective suspend setting in power management - no change.
Has anyone had the same issue?
Any suggestions before it goes to Dell Support?

A:Inspiron 7568 - Touch stops working when in tablet configuration

I am sorry to read that you are having this problem.  Is this something that has always happened since getting the notebook or something that recently started?  Has anything been changed with the system just prior to when the problem started?
If you haven't tried already please download the 0006, a00 version of the touch firmware from here.  I also suggest installing the chipset and Intel Serial I/O drivers as well.
I will likely shoot you a friend request but please reply here if you have tried the drivers that I mentioned and if it made any difference.

is there any settings in bios or any utility can fix the problem, could some one please advise?

A:Keyboard stops working - USB external keyboard is fine

Hello Nysoh

On this virtual way nobody can say for sure what the problem is but if the internal keyboard is not working properly first step is keyboard replacement. If the problem still persists then troublemaker can be keyboard port or keyboard controller.

As far as I know BIOS has nothing to do with this issue.

Got an inspiron 13 7000 yesterday and trying to use for first time.  When switching to tablet mode, the virtural/on-screen keyboard cannot be selected for use.  It is available in laptop mode (when I don't need it because of the large keyboard in front of me), but not table.

So, I called tech support and was told it was outside of regular tech and they'd transfer me to software tech.  They said there is normally a fee for this support, but since the computer is brand new, there would be not charge.  Software tech refused to help me unless I paid and they transferred me back to hardware tech who put me on hold, then hung up on me.

Wow, nice support on a brand new product!  They want me to pay to get their defective product to work?  I guess it would be cheaper for them to pay for a return shipping label, give me a full refund and sell this as a refurb at half of what they sold it to me for then for them to actually spend a few minutes on the phone trying to help.

Before I return this and buy another brand, does anyone know how to get the on-screen keyboard to work on tablet mode?

So this is a new tablet only 2nd week ownership and I am disappointed with the dock keyboard.  Initially it did not work when plugged in so I updated Win10 to Apr 2018 release with all Lenovo updates applied.  I also removed the keyboard from Windows Device Manager and had it re-detected.  After all that the keyboard appeared to work properly.  Well it has stopped working again.  Very disappointing.  It doesn't look like its all hardware problem as when I plug in the backlit keys do show.  But thats all it does.  Keys don't register, trackpad doesn't work, trackpoint same issue.  I don't know if its an driver software problem or hardware.  Any guidance?

I just received a new Lenovo Y900 SUS. It came with a gaming keyboard and mouse. Every single time I changes user accounts (multiple family users setup in Windows)- the keyboard stops responding. All the lights stay on but none of the keys do anything). If I unplug the keyboard and plug it back it- it starts working immediatly. (One time the keyboard has stopped when I was doing something other than changing users but EVERY time I change users it stops working). I have tried changing the various USB ports -but it happens regardless of where it is plugged in (out front of tower, out back, USB 2.0, USB 3.0). Driver is up-to-date and appears to be correct for the model (or at least- I cannot find any other driver). Any ideas what else I can try? Is it a lemon- should I request a new keyboard or is it some setting somewhere I haven't thought to try? Thank you for your help!

A few weeks ago I bought a Lenovo Y700 15ISK with Windows 10 already preinstalled. I've noticed two main problems: the keyboard sometimes stops responding (this happens mainly when I am gaming, it happened firstly with Fallout 3 and then with Overwatch). When it happens I can't do anything but force shutting down the machine. It had been happening for a week or so, now it's been a while since it last occured. Second one, is that I keep on getting random BSODs while doing not much intensive activities. It's been happening once a day for two weeks now, and it's getting annoying. One thing that I can note, is that it's always happening while I'm surfing the web (Facebook, Youtube, etc). It has been preannunced once or twice by the screen blinking black for less than a second. The error message last time was "system_service_exception, igdkmd64.sys".If you need more information, just tell me.Thank you in advance.

Hello everyone,

I've been having a problem that began on December 9th, 2016. My keyboard, seemingly at random, stops working. The green indicator light that it's powered stays on but the buttons will not respond. I'm using Windows 7 x64.

I've tried various options and none have worked.
- Different USB ports
- Different keyboards (Logitech K120 and Microsoft Curve)
- Different mice, just in case. (Logitech Optical Gaming Mouse G400 and Amazon Basics)
- Unplugged unnecessary USB connections
- Full virus scan, nothing found
- Full system scan through command prompt, nothing found
- Disabled power options to turn USB ports off to save power
- Updated my nVidia graphics card
- Installed a few new updates for Windows
- A friend of mine did some changes in the BIOS that I'm not familiar with, (I can ask them), but that didn't work either.

Then I moved on to see if it's a program that's causing this. But I got to a point where I had closed all the normal programs I use day-to-day, (I also tried disabling all Chrome extensions), but the problem still occurred.

There's two instances where the keyboard stops working.
1.) When the computer is left to idle for fifteen minutes, the screensaver comes on and then my two monitors turn off. When I return, the keyboard no longer works. The mouse does, however.
2.) But this has also happened seemingly at random without the above coming into play. With and without certain programs running.

Oddly enough, the quick "fix" I have at th... Read more

Recently, when I'm in a game (Call of Duty, Starcraft, etc) my keyboard just goes out. First, it happened with Call of Duty. About 2-3 mins into the game, it just stops working. I deleted my configuration for the game and then it worked, so I thought I fixed it. But then 10 mins ago in Starcraft, it did the same thing..

Specs 'n Stuff: The keyboard lights stay on, its default dell keyboards, non-usb, when this was happening I plugged in a different keyboard and it's still doing it with both - making me think its computer related.

My mouse is fine in game, so I can only control certain aspects of the game. Additionally, I can't use the keyboard in-game or out of game. But the problems starts when I'm in games.

Update: Ok, I had my computer on standby because I wanted to watch TV. I come back and the keyboard was working. I go in game, and immediately it stops working (Starcraft). I'm able to get out of game in SC, so I go to try it in Call of Duty and it doesn't work. There's no way to get out of game so I have to shutdown my computer with the power button. Once I do that, my computer boots without a display on the monitor. I remember this happening before when I shutdown my computer this way.. so I really have no idea what is wrong..

Hi everyone, so I'm having a big problem. My keyboard was just fine few days ago, but now it stopped working, it's really annoying because I have to you desktop keyboard or what it is. Sometimes it works for a moment, but suddenly windows starts to show that usb device not recognized. Anyway, I searched for the solution for my problem many times. I tried to re-plug in my keyboard, shut down pc and turn on again, I also tried to search for drivers, but then it showed that there isn't any drivers, I tried to up to date them, but it's already up to date, I unistalled drivers and turned on pc for drivers to be installed again, but it showed that it failed. And ethernet controller, SM bus controller and universal serial bus (usb) controller are with yellow thing near to them, all the time (control panel>device manager>other devices). My other devices plugged in with usb work just fine, but keyboard doesnt do it at all. Can it be the problem or something else, or i just need to buy a new keyboard? Please help!

A:Keyboard always stops working

It sounds as though you are using a USB keyboard? It is not a wireless keyboard is it? Did you try plugging the keyboard into one of the other USB ports for which the devices are working instead of the same one which is not working? Did you run Windows Update to look for drivers? Do you have internet access on the machine still or is it not working due to the Ethernet controller problem? If you have access, and if Windows Update doesn't get you the drivers, you might try IOBIT driver booster free if you are having trouble installing drivers. It will look for missing drivers and will update them for you.

I see no sign of infection in your logs. We'll see what turns up.

Please attach the second DDS log, Attach.txt, to your next reply.

It should be on your desktop. If not...

Press the Windows "logo" key and "R" key then copy/paste the following into the Run box and click OK:

A text file should open. Save it to your desktop then attach that file to your next reply.

Please download AdwCleaner from here and save it to your desktop.Do NOT click the green 'Download' button(if visible).
Click the blue 'Download now @bleepingcomputer' button.
Run AdwCleaner and select Scan
Once the Scan is done, select Clean
Once done it will ask to reboot, please allow the reboot.
On reboot, a log will be produced. It can also be found at C:\AdwCleaner\AdwCleaner[S#].txt
Please copy/paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

I am running windows7 on an HP G50 (laptop). If it goes to screen save mode, the keyboard will not function at all when it comes back, including the mouse pad. The external mouse works fine, so I can surf until I need to key something. When I restart it, it works fine until the screen goes to sleep again.
Any ideas?

My ps/2 keyboard, every 3 or 4 days, simply stops working - no response at all in any application. I switched keyboards, but the problem persists. Reboopting works every time. The Device Manager shows it's working properly. As far as I can tell, no specific application is triggering the problem, although it usually occurs when I'm working in IE7. I have Windows XP.

Any thoughts?

The only thing i could think of would be a port problem. You might try using a ps/2 -> USB adapter(if they exist <.<) to bypass the ps/2 port.

I'm having an issue with my laptop keyboard not registering what keys I type. It's been starting when I'm using Microsoft Works. I've tried a few of the different Fix It- Microsoft ATS that seemed to apply, and that works for a little while, but then the problem returns when I'm using Microsoft Works. Once the problem happens, I can't use the keyboard again at all in any program until I reboot.

There was a Windows update yesterday that I installed that I thought could be causing this issue, but I was unable to find a System Restore point available to go to that was prior to the update to see if that helped.

Other things I tried are cleaning the registry, doing a scan/Deep Clean. I'm running low on ideas, anything else I can try? Below are my system specs:
Dell Inspiron 1525
Vista Home Premium 32bit
Intel Premium Dual CPU T2370 @ 1.73GHz
Memory 2 GB

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Some suggestions
Stop using those reg cleaners, they may have even been the cause of the problem. If they were not, they may cause different problems in the future
Go to search, by start button, type device manager and look for any small yellow markers near the keybaord drivers. If there are, update.
If they are not, update to the most current from the company website (the company that made the keyboard)

Every time I try to install Windows XP from the CD onto my friend's computer, I get to the blue screen where you're able to format/partition the hard drive and then his keyboard stops working. I don't know how to get around this because I can't continue the installation w/o the use of the keyboard. Unfortunatly, he has Windows ME on his computer right now so this issue needs to be resolved! Thanks in advance!
