Yoga 720 onscreen keyboard predictive text

Q: Yoga 720 onscreen keyboard predictive text

I have just purchased a Yoga 720. I have been trying to use the onscreen keyboard in tablet mode, but it is very difficult to use because the predictive text is not working. I have noticed that the only place it will actually work is within the Windows store, but it will not work with Chrome. Is this a glitch with Chrome compatability?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

how do I stop or delete previously typed words from the onscreen keyboard predictive text feature? I like the feature for word predictions but it bothers me to no end that after typing 'big' **** is in the list from looking at porn or type 'as' and **** is there. 99% of us look at it not all of us want to be reminded of it afterwards. If there is a feature to purge this accumulated data I can't find it. I'd settle for the files location so i can do it manually if there is no other option. Why there isn't one is beyond me or at least in an obvious place in the settings. i can't be the only one frustrated by this. I assume most just disable the feature. Disabling and enabling doesn't seem to cause a data purge sadly. Thanks for any help with this.I know how to turn off the feature in case anyone suggests that.

Is there any way to do this? its driving the insane...it gives me more mistakes because I just want to type--I don't want to have to jump up to the screen during a word to pick a number, and it also makes typing word/number combinations almost impossible. If I make a mistake and backspace to edit a word, it treats it as a new word. Simply put, I have a very high WPM and can correct myself and while this feature may help a lot of people it's just not for me. When I try to change it in settings though the settings only seem to be for the onscreen keyboard. I would probably like to then off auto-correct as well.

Okay, I have a form with VenderName, VenderNumber, GeneralManager, ServiceDirector....

I want to have a form that populates the textboxes when I enter the VenderName. I tried combo boxes on all of the controls and they worked for GeneralManager, ServiceDirector, and a few others that only had 4 or 5 options.

I guess the question is how do I get the form to populate based on the VenderName entered (preferrably as a non-case sensitive string) and can I use predictive texting? Also, will two many entries prevent a combobox from listing them all? Boss wants this done by 11:30

I'm not as good on this as some of the people here, but I think I can answer a few things for you.
First, having too many entries will not prevent the combo box from listing them all, but screen size, etc. may just mean that they don't show up (if you have 100 vendors, well, that is probably more than you can see. Could you set up sub-groups of vendors, depending on what they sell, so you first entered, say, engine parts, which would eliminate the window/glass dealers and so on)?
And if you start to type in the vendor's name, yes, Access will take you to the names shown to those that fit - start with the whole list, type in "I" and that shows you, say IKEA, IBM, IKON. Type in IB and you just have IBM.

A:How to make onscreen/window text bold?

Hi Jgamer719

As far as I'm aware the only way to change the 'Window' font is via a registry change - Please see Change the default System Fonts in Windows 7 - davidjnice.com

HOWEVER MAJOR HEALTH WARNING: Please backup your registry before attempting and don't try unless you are experienced with Registry Editing - you can cause yourself a lot of grief if you make a mistake.

A number of days ago my computer started acting funny. It will be fine for a while, but then suddenly things the substance of the things on my screen disappears. So, on my desktop I will see only the color and outline of the icons, and on a webpage I'll see only the outline and colors of that screen and my browser toolbar, but no text or pictures. Sometimes everything "disappears" like this; other times only some stuff does. When this happens everything starts freezing up and I cannot open or run any programs, not even Windows Task Manager. The only solution is to manually shutdown my computer by holding the on/off key until it shuts down. I have to manually reboot to get my computer manageable and working again. The reboot always takes more time than a normal reboot. After that my computer is fine for a while, although it does seem that going on Facebook triggers this funny behavior. If I stay off Facebook, the problems don't occur, at least not for quite some time longer. Within minutes after logging on to Facebook I can count on the problems to start. That said, I left my computer on all night last night and did not go to Facebook at all, yet this same funny behavior started as soon as I checked my computer this morning even though I had not logged into Facebook.

I tried a system restore point and uninstalled/reinstalled my anti-virus (Avast, free version) and firewall (ZoneAlarm, free version). This did not fix the problem at all. I do not use any Faceb... Read more

There is no disable\enable of touchpad in the BIOS. Were you in the Device Manager when you disabled the touchpad? That is another place where it can be enabled and disabled. For Windows 10Enable or Disable Onscreen Keyboard using SettingsSelect ?Start? > ?Settings?.Choose ?Ease of Access?.Select ?Keyboard?.Set ?On-Screen Keyboard? to ?On? or ?Off? as desired.

Hi there. I am trying to figure out how to use the onscreen keyboard. There are a lot of articles that just explain how to start it, but not how to use it.
I know how to access it. And it works when I enter letters in the search box of my browser. However, that's all it does. When I use it with a word processor, the keys do not respond. Strange. Also, when i click on alt+(number) on the numeric pad (which works perfect on a regular keyboard), it does not work at all. Don't get me wrong: it's not that I want to type a whole document with it. It should work, but it does not. I am stumped! Does anyone have an answer? Thanks in advance for your help.

The keyboard  has a delay issue. When I leave the sound effects on (despite having chosen "no sounds " as my preference more times than I can recall) .I've had to learn how to restore the audio playback even more often than the "prefrences, but it's  still hanging on for the moment .     I have to keep the key depressed long enough to hear 2 clicks before it registers the choice onscreen. Hello,

Is there a way to automatically load the onscreen keyboard on the logon screen?

Thanks!

Michael

A:Onscreen Keyboard on Logon Screen

Try this.

1. Go to All Programs > Accessories > Ease of access > right click on OnScreen keyboard > SendTo Desktop. That gives you a shortcut on the desktop.
2. Start > type shell:startup > hit Enter. Now drag the shortcut from 1. into the startup folder. Close the folder.

Theoretically the OnScreen keyboard should be started when you load Win7. Have not tried it yet with the keyboard, but with many other applications that always worked.

PS: just tried it out. It works.

Hi. I use the windows 7 osk a lot to enter passwords. I have the icon pinned to my taskbar, and normally the way I use it is I click on the icon in the taskbar when I want the osk to pop up so that I can use it. When I'm finished with it, I click on the minimize button and it returns to its spot in the status bar and stays there until I click on it again. Now, *normally* when I pass my mouse pointer over the icon, just a thumbnail of the osk will appear. But lately when my mouse pointer simply passes over the icon, the osk will pop up and appear on my screen in full size, and I need to minimize it to put it back onto the taskbar. This is very inconvenient because every time I bring my mouse pointer down to the status bar to choose an icon, I inadvertently pass over the osk icon with my mouse pointer which causes it to pop up. I was fiddling with the osk's options yesterday, which must be the reason, but I can't find any way to reverse the problem.

Anyone's help would be appreciated.

Hi Ollie!

METHOD 1

Try holding the Windows Key then pressing R. In the Run windows copy and paste this (Without The Quotes) "%windir%\system32\osk.exe"

Method 2

Or if you want that on your desktop:

1. Right-Click on an empty area of the desktop.
2. Go to New and select Shortcut.
3. Copy and paste "%windir%\system32\osk.exe" into the box, WITHOUT THE QUATATION MARKS!
4. Call it On-Screen Keyboard, or whatever you want (it doesn't matter)
5. Click Finish

There should now be an On-Screen Keyboard Icon on your desktop.

Hi Folks,

The issue: When I restarted the system, the onscreen keyboard wouldn't start-up at the log-in screen (also tried to open the OSC at safe-mode log-in, but the same thing happens). In windows explorer, when I tried to open the windows onscreen keyboard, the following message box opened:

C:\Windows\system32\osk.exe, A referral was returned from the server.

Having Google searched this problem, it seems that in the last 24 hours, lots of people have been posting this problem.

I've checked cryptographic services (in both services.msc & task manager) and the service is running!

Will there be a further update to fix this problem?

Kind regards,

From what I have read Yoga 13 Silver does not have the slot required for backlit, but aside that, will the keyboard function and will it fit (dimension-wise)? If so, what is the voltage and current required? Would soldering a small battery to the backlit cable be a good idea (I accept the fact that I wouldn't be able to regulate it)? Thank you in advance!ck

So I purchased a Lenovo X1 Yoga in Japan and I absolutely hate Japanese keyboard layouts (anyone that has used one after using a US keyboard knows what I mean - a space bar that is smaller than the enter key, poor placement of certain keys, specifically ", ', and @. There is just no logic behind any of it and honestly, there is no need. One can easily type in Japanese, just fine, with a standard US English layout keyboard. Sorry, I guess I didn't need to state that, but perhaps it will help with SEO to ensure someone finds this page when searching for those keywords.  Anyway, I finally found the information I needed to swap this keyboard out (and throw it in the trash), even though Lenovo support in Japan basically told me it's not possible. It does seem like a huge undertaking though (as you basically have to dismantle the entire laptop to get the keyboard out). But it does seem as though the English keyboards are compatible with all X1 Yoga laptops (even my Japanese X1 Yoga). The Lenovo customer service staff told me to get FRU PN: 00JT864 (00JT864 N KBD,US,LB,screw,CHY,Backlit), which is the US English replacement keyboard. It's also specified on the PDF document  on this page (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/PD103738 ) for the 20FR and 20FQ. Hi,I deal with this problem since an upgrade to windows 10 and hopefully someone of you guys know the solution.  I have a dpi scaling set for 150% and that is fine for me except some apps are really blurry (so far i noticed for example skype, spotify, facebook chat/search bar in web browsers, even device manager). I searched the web for a solution and each of them tell me to set scalling for 100, 125% or manually disable dpi scaling for every app i use but when i do this everything is ridiculously small so it is not really the solution, more like bypassing it.So, going to the point, do you know any way to keep apps like skype big and make them sharp at the same time? I know it is probably more windows 10 issue and its scalling on 14" fullhd screens but maybe someone has a solution or at least more information about it (does microsoft knows about this issue, do they work on some fix or smth?) Oh, and also my two finger tap doesn't work (i only have two fingers click). I read posts about changing the registry on windows 8.1 but unfortunately it didn't work for me on windows 10. Best regards

Hi, i received my 14" Yoga 700 running Windows 10, less than a week ago and have been seeing an issue with the display, the text, and some icons are quite fuzzy and blurry, i have tried scaling the display to 125% and 100% from the recommended 150% but that doesnt seem to help, i have also tried turning off/on cleartype text and going into the properties of some programs and checking the "disable display scaling on high DPI settings" however that does not fix the problem either.
