Yoga 12 delayed click response after I type someth...

Q: Yoga 12 delayed click response after I type someth...

Why is there a 2 second delay after I type to when I can move the cursor by clicking the touchpad? I try to move the cursor and click somewhere in order to correct a mis-spelling or something like that. And there is always a 2 second delay before it lets me do that. It's really annoying. And yes I have checked all the touchpad settings, there is nothing wrong with them.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Yoga 12 delayed click response after I type someth...

Hi

I don't know about the TP Yoga 12, I have a TP Yoga 14.

I noticed that while you are typing you can move the trackpoint without issues, but the trackpad remains freeze while you type. I really do not know the reassson. But in my case the delay is very quick , it less then one second when I stop typing and the cursor with start moving (with the trackpad).

I'm not sure about the TP Yoga 12, but maybe you can check for a driver update on the support site of your model. Does your computer has the Synaptics mouse? Check which driver version do you have installed and which is the lastest one.

I'm not sure if it will help but you can give it a try.

I bought the Yoga 3 Pro during Oct 2015. After three months, in the normal laptop mode, keboard stopped working. It used to work on tablet mode. Called Lenovo support couple of times and they asked me to reset few things. It started working. Then it stopped again. I was frustrated and stopped using this laptop and started using another one. I have to go to India for emergency and didn't take this Lenovo. Couple of months back, I came back from India and started trying it. I deleted everything and used recovery procedure. It worked for a day and stopped working. I noticed that it puts the letter, if I press it for few seconds. I never used this laptop in Tablet mode. Always Laptop mode. Called Lenovo support and talked to them for an hour. The promised that it will work, if install everything and it will fix the drivers. I paid $69 and she sent an USB drive with Win10 OS. I called the rep and asked them to help me.  After four hours of reimaging the laptop, it had the same issue. Very frustrated. Then the rep is saying that it is hardware issue and no one there to fix it. He told me that he can put a note to refund my $69 This laptop is very little used. It is like a brand new laptop. I don't know what to do now. After couple of days, a lady calls and tells me that she can not refund $69 because of the agreements. That really made me mad. I have a piece of junk in front of me and Lenovo wants to make money out of it. How is it fair? I owned more than 2... Read more

Hey guys, first post here, so I'm hoping you guys can identify a huge problem I'm having with my PC. It seems to have happened all of a sudden. The problem is that windows XP loads up fine to desktop and all of the icons appear as they should, etc...

However, once the PC has loaded up and I commence with whatever I need to do e.g. run an application such as Microsoft Word, or just open up Internet Explorer, there seems to be no immediate response.

The cursor remains with an arrow when pointing at the desktop, but this changes to the hour glass icon when scrolling over the taskbar, as if the computer is waiting to load up the requested applications. However, the PC does not make any sound that I usually expect it to when loading and opening up folders/applications/programs.

The computer appears to be frozen in a sense or unresponsive, however I am still able to move the mouse around and the cursor responds, so I guess it's not totally freezing up as it could do. But it is unresponsive in every other way.

Then after about 5 mins or so (no exaggeration here!), the application I initially tried opening up e.g. word or interent explorer, suddenly and finally appears and functions fine, albeit the ridiculous delay!

So my question is what is going on here and why is my PC acting so temperamental?

Here are my specs:

-AMD Athlon XP2200+ 1.36Ghz

I had the same identical problem yesterday when I booted this thing up.

Eventually I got it running and went in and turned off Auto Updates. Seemed to boot up normally after that.
Now, if i manually go to Microsofts update site I get locked in and can't get out of it, unless I shut down and reboot.

Must be a Microsoft issue with there update site ??

Hope this works for you.

So currently having a rather annoying issue, my mouse is being very delayed. Often requiring several clicks to get it to do its job, I can right click; use the mouse wheel with ease, just the left click is the culprit of, as mentioned, a delayed reaction.

It began earlier on, just randomly browsing the net, YouTube, etc. The mouse started playing up, I could change tabs, exit chrome, nothing. Ctrl+alt+delete, nor there could I click. So I was forced to shut down and reboot, followed by a system restore due to my own paranoia.

I should also mention, last month. I had a lagging issue with my keyboard. Writing was a major issue due to the lag it caused, yet strangely, when I moved my mouse nearer to my monitor, it seemed to have eased the issue. Now… It’s non-existent. Considering that I work on my computer the majority of the time for my work, I hope that this issue is down to my mouse, which can be easily replaced, or, an issue that I can fix with help and not a virus.

So, any help?

Edit: I've ran scans with Vipre and Malwarebytes, neither of them have came up with anything negative in regards to having a infection or virus.

A:Mouse response is delayed/slow

Is this a wireless mouse? If so it sounds like the batteries are getting low.
If not, go into Device Manager and delete the driver for the mouse and restart the computer, that will reload the default driver.
If that doesn't work, try another mouse.

I've looked through the forum and the Internet for someone with a similar problem but have had no luck.

No apps launch for about 30 seconds after my desktop wakes from hybrid sleep.

If I try to launch IE from the keyboard or click on the IE icon on the taskbar it will take about 30 seconds before it launches. This is for any app including Windows Explorer. The mouse pointer moves around the desktop but I can't launch anything for the first 30 seconds after resuming from hybrid sleep.

I can hear the computer accessing the 2 DVD drives and the external eSATA drive and once the spinup noises subside then the apps will launch.

Is this normal or should I be checking for something that is causing this delay?

TIA

Hello friends. I have been experiencing a delayed response when typing in forms in IE 6, where the characters appear several seconds after the keys are struck. The scroll bar has also been getting out of whack by not moving when clicking on the arrow. This happens on certain sites, i.e. ebay, yahoo, etc. These problems may seem insignificant, but when experienced first hand over the course of several months, an aneurysm begins to form in the frontal lobe.

As recommended on other site forums, I have tried clearing the autocomplete and forms and deleting the pstore key in the registry as suggested by Microsoft Knowledge Base. I have also scanned the disk, defraged, turned off the virus scan, cleared my cache and cookies. I have run spyware killers to no avail. I have reset the security settings in the IE options until my fingers were about to fall off and turned on/off smooth scrolling until I entered some sort of delusional state of mental handicap . In short, these previous suggestions have been useless.

After searching this site, I have seen my problem a few times on this forum. This problem seems to be fixed after some cool dude views the log file from HijackThis and makes an educated suggestion.

Hello!

I have been battling this problem for well over two months now. I upgraded my XP to SP3, and afterwards I started noticing that when I'm typing the characters sometimes appear on screen only after a slight delay.

This is noticeable on all applications but particularly annoying in Internet Explorer.

I did not have this problem before upgrading to SP3. After seeing it, I completely reinstalled the OS, and didn't have any problems until I installed some XP update, unrelated to SP3 (probably included at first only in SP3 and available later separately).

Most importantly: I have ruled out all possible hardware malfunctions, scanned the RAM (I have 2 GBs of it which should be sufficient, as a quantity so that can't have been the problem), checked the HDD for errors and found nothing. repeated the above twice!

Also, my compuer has been scanned for viruses and malware, using Norton Internet Security and Kaspersky Antivirus, alternately. Nothing...

Specs: ACER Aspire 3690 laptop, with Intel Celeron M Processor (1,73 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 1MB L2) HDD 80 GB, 2GB RAM (upgraded fter purchase, identic modules)

One more thing: Kaspersky Av. is the only third party (ie not microsoft or Acer) on the notebook, and I'm extra cautios with installing any others.

Please help, if possible.

With best regards John Seckler

Over the past couple of weeks, maybe up to 3 weeks, my machine has been slowing down tremendously on startup. I'm running Windows XP Home SP2 on a Dell Dimension 8300 Pentium 4 @ 2.8 GHz, 1.25 GB RAM, my main virus defense is TrendMicro PC Cillin 2006.The symptoms are:After starting the machine and selecting my user log in, I will have an hourglass anytime I hover the mouse over the task bar. This goes on for 5 - 7 minutes. I can get into folders, but if I try to open an application (IE, Word, etc.) the application will not open. I will try a CTRL-ALT-DEL to get to the task manager, but that is ignored as well. Sometimes (not consistently), after a long period of time all the apps requested will pop open, as if a buffer finally cleared. There are also times when the machine will not shutdown through the normal system. It will either act as if it is going through the shutdown, but will return to the desktop screen and not shutdown. Once or twice it has acted as if it has shut down, but the mouse pointer is still floating on the screen, and the power to the machine is still on.All that said, I've walked through the slow machine tutorial, and the preparation steps prior to posting this log. I have a new Inspiron 6400 with WinXP Pro. I've got an Intel Core 2 Duo with 2gig of ram. A couple of weeks ago I noticed an extremely frustrating behavior. While typing in any program (Word, Outlook, Notepad, IE Explorer, even right now while I'm trying to type this) the cursor (not the mouse cursor, the text cursor) starts to slow down and even stop every few seconds or so. Then suddenly it will print out everything I've been typing all at once. It's like the cursor gets constipated every few seconds. It's extremely frustrating to type anything now on this computer. I contacted Dell support. They suggested doing a system restore back a couple of weeks. I did that, and it seemed like it was behaving regularly again. Then after McAfee and Windows Update finished re-loading their updates (that had happened during those 2 weeks) the problem was right back. I then tried disabling every feature in McAfee except the firewall, thinking all the realtime AV stuff was bogging it down. No difference. I looked at Windows Task Manager to see if any background processes were monopolizing CPU resources. Nothing stood out, except the large number of processes (about 60) going on. Not knowing what most of them are for, I didn't dare disable any. I have a sneaking suspicion that a recent Windows Update is to blame, but I don't know if anyone else is seeing this. I have an older Inspiron 6000 at work using WinXP Pro that is not behaving this way at all, and it's "up to date". I bough... Read more

Please follow the instructions in the Malware Removal and Log Section Preparation Guide starting at Step 6.
If you cannot complete a step, then skip it and continue with the next.
In Step 6 there are instructions for downloading and running FRST which will create two logs.
When you have done that, post your logs in the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum, NOT here, for assistance by the Malware Response Team.Start a new topic, give it a relevant title and post your log(s) along with a brief description of your problem, a summary of any anti-malware tools you have used and a summary of any steps that you have performed on your own. If you cannot produce any of the required logs...start the new topic anyway. Explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happened when you tried to create them. A member of the Malware Removal Team will walk you through, step by step, on how to clean your computer.
After doing this, please reply back in this thread with a link to the new topic so we can close this one.

DO NOT bump your new topic. Wait for a response from one of the Team Members.

When you say delayed do you mean that the left mouse button does not work for a certain period of time? What happens if you try to push the button before this delayed period is up? A good place to start is to possibly try reinstalling the synaptic software and see where you get from there.... What is the specific model of your pc?

I'm having two problems and I suspect they are related. There are come programs that simply execute a long time after the icon is clicked. By delayed, I mean I click the .exe icon for the program and nothing happens...Then 5-10 minutes later, the program I forgot about runs. What's going on there? I also have this super annoying problem where if I right click a program, explorer freezes, sometimes even crashes. I have booted windows in safe mode and neither of these problems seem to happen. Do I really have to go through each and every third party shell extension? There's hundreds of them. I really don't want to spend all day on this because of somebody's sloppy work. A quick solution to both problems would be appreciated.

I just purchased my laptop a month ago.
It's been so great until about yesterday when my internet pages have been acting oddly.

Here are some problems I've been experiencing :

Slow typing
Mouse Pointers do not change according to links, text boxes, etc.
Scrolls don't respond

These are some of the things I've noticed. Every one of those problems are slow and don't responde or catch up upto the speed. It's almost like the internet page is frozen and not responding. For some of the times, the page actually says Not Responding but goes away after the typing, scrolls, and the pointers responde and react.
This isn't a permant thing but happens quite often. Like every minute or so. When these problems arn't occuring, my internet works completely fine.

I've tried to restore the computer to about a week ago when the problem didn't occur but it did absolutely nothing.

I have just received a Dell Inspiron 15 5567 today, the first thing I did was to install the Windows 10 Creators Update so no idea if this issue was present before then.

The Realtek audio driver with the MaxxAudioPro application appears to be the root cause here, it seems that the audio driver goes to sleep when not in use then when a sound is played, a pop/click is heard when it kicks back in (its volume doesn't appear to change depending on where the volume slider is).
What is strange is that it only appears to emanate from the left speaker when this happens (shielding issue?).
The only solution I have found so far, is to change the driver to the standard High Definition Audio driver.

I see this has been a problem on various models for a very long time, seemingly not everyone's laptop suffers with this issue? Is this a hardware or software issue?

Try disabling a few of the less used apps that load on startup, it's in the task manager, pull it up and look in your Startup - Just disable a few and then reboot, try it again.

I was tooling around Abode Photoshop, when suddenly my computer stopped responding to left-clicks, so I was stuck inside the program. I tried hitting ctrl alt delete but I couldn't force Photoshop to end because my computer wouldn't respond to left clicks. So I hit the reset button and when my computer booted up, nothing would respond to left clicks. Right clicks worked, however. I tried a bunch of stuff, like uninstalling Photoshop and using a system restore, but nothing worked. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, my left-clicking ability returned.
Does anyone know what causes this? Do I have a corrupted system file somewhere? I'm now afraid to use Photoshop again, but I kind of have to in order to get my work done. Experience tells me these problems just don't go away (it will happen again). What should I do?

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live... Hey guys, first post. I'm having some serious problems out of nowhere, task manager says 100% of disk is being used. If I click one thing there is no response for 15 mins or more. I ran malwarebytes last night, only to check it now and it's at 57,000 files scanned after 14 hours so that's a lost cause. I turned off the wifi on the laptop and now it won't reconnect after pressing the button again. I recently updated curse client and updated some of the add-ons for a game that I play, I think this might of gave me a virus. I have gotten a few popup error messages, c++ error; curse client error; and a norton error (outdated and not used, tried to uninstall norton and after 2 hours it got to the uninstall screen and didn't do a thing after 3 hours. I just don't know what to do at this point this lag is out of control and it's hard to maintain patience. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

A:Windows 7 click twice to get response - very frustrated

Try this.

Start Orb.
Type Folder Options.
Select single click.
Apply/Ok

Now do single click and count how long it takes to open something.
Do not click more than once.

It will give us a idea if their is so much running in the background it slow down opening other things.

You also might have a mouse button problem.

I would suggest not using Hijackthis.
It is not designed for a 64 bit system and can get you in a deep pile of do do.

Hello raniervivas

This problem can be caused by a poorly coded context menu handler. A context menu handler is a shell extension handler that adds commands to an existing context menu (Example: cut, copy, paste, print, Scan with Norton etc)

Download ShellExView and run it.

It will scan the registry for all the shell extensions. Once the scan is over and the list is displayed, you need to spot the context menu handlers. Sort the results using "Type", so that the context menu handlers are displayed together.

General rule here is to disable non-Microsoft context menu handlers *one-by-one* and verify if the problem is solved. If disabling one does not solve the problem, undo the disabled item and disable the next non-Microsoft handler. Do the same until the problem is solved and finally identify the culprit. Scroll right to see the Company Name column in ShellExView.

You can disable them "one at a time" and see what effect it has on the problem. You can do it a lot quicker by bisecting the list, disabling half of the entries in one fell swoop, rebooting and trying the right click. You just have to narrow it down. Then keep bisecting the list until it is just a few and do these one at a time. The problem is that you have to reboot between tries to get accurate testing of the results of your disabling.

The latest version of ShellExView marks all the non-Microsoft extensions in Pink for easy identification. All other types of shell extension... Read more

Ok, so here is the problem. When double clicking on any of the icons to open anything on the desktop nothing happens. Also along with this on any drop down menus that you need to change, it will not bring out the drop down box with any choices. So if I need to open anything I have to either right click and then select open, or single click the icon and use the keyboard enter key. On the drop box I have to select the box and then arrow key to the selection and hit enter.

Here is the setup. This is on a computer that is a couple of years old running Win XP SP2 using a Logitech Cordess TrackMan Wheel mouse. This has been the setup for years. This problem however has only started last week. I figure this was caused by some update that Microsoft may have done.

The fixes I have already attempted to no avail. First I checked to make sure that the batteries where good. Also checked and reset the wireless connection as well as the connection to the computer. Then I moved on to the control panel and made sure the double click speed was set properly. I then updated to the latest drivers for the mouse. The last thing I tried was to restore to a date that was before this problem started. Checked for spy/malware the system came back clean. I have also Googled this subject and I have not found any remedy to this problem. The next thing on the agenda is trying a wired mouse. But from other people with the same problem that one did not work either.

Any other suggestions... Read more

A:Double Click Not Working / No Response

Have you tried to uninstall the Logitech Cordless Trackman via the Device Manager node of the Computer Management console?I would try to uninstall the device there and then run a scan for hardware changes to see if Windows can automatically reinstall the hardware to working condition. To reach the Computer Management console, you can do the following:Start >> right-click My Computer >> select Manage -OR- Start >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Computer ManagementNavigate to the Device Manager node. Locate the Logitech Cordless Trackman under the Mice and other pointing devices branch. Right click the device and select Uninstall. Once the uninstallation process has completed, right click the Local Machine at the top of the hardware tree and select Scan for hardware changes. This should start the Found New Hardware Wizard. Try reinstalling the hardware that way.Try to restart your computer after uninstalling, when your computer reboots, the Found New Hardware wizard should start up and attempt to install the Logitech Cordless Trackman.I would start there. Post back for further advice if that doesn't resolve the issue.

Oh. the inconvinence not just in yahoo, even in my Outlook Express and many others sides. When it says "click here to view more". When I click, no respond.

These links were once attached to Mozilla Firefox browser, because there were virus attached to my firefox broswer, I have uninstalled it via safemode. Now I have reinstalled firefox, but the links are not working.

1. Go to Start / Run

I went to McDonalds two month's ago and my computer went crazy and got realy slow. I have tried to use it several times since and the click delay is terrible. I'll type a word after the first letter appears on the sreen I have to wait for about 10 sec then the rest of the word appears. During that 10 seconds my computer is locked up. Also the cursor jumps to other parts of a page when typing online or in a program.
I ran Malwarebytes, AVG, Eset the found a couple issues but that did not fix the computer. I then ran ComboFix and it would not run. I downloaded a new version and only #49 completed. It usually runs 50 or so scans. Now it will only run #49. I tried additional downloads of ComboFix and it will not run except #49.

When I try to adjust screen brightness on my Lenovo 92013IKB using the keyboard keys, I see the slider pop-up and change, but the brightness does not change immediately, if at all. In some instances, the screen brightness will change a minute or two after I've adjusted the setting, but it should be immediate after hitting the keys - like it was when I first purchased the laptop a few weeks ago. And sometimes it doesn't ever respond. I'm guessing some sort of update is interfering with the normal function of the screen backlight keys. I've uninstalled the display adapter driver (choosing the option to delete the files on uninstall), restarted and run windows update to reinstall the intel display drivers. This has not helped. Oddly enough, if I use my internet browser and perform a two-finger scroll, the screen brightness will adjust towards what I set it to, incrementally with each scroll until it reaches the setting I set it to previously. Really odd.

Does anyone know how to turn off Two-Finger-Click (not two-finger-tap) right click on the Thinkpad X1 Yoga 3rd Gen?  I'm coming from a Mac so this is driving me crazy, as I'm used to leaving both fingers on the trackpad when I click, and only using the bottom-right corner to right-click. I've found how to turn off Two-Finger-Tap in the Windows Settings -> Touchpad Settings, and also how to enable Press The Right Bottom Corner Of The Touchpad To Right Click in those settings as well.  I tried looking in Control Panel -> Mouse -> Thinkpad -> Touchpad -> Advanced Settings, but there's nothing in those Synaptics drivers to control Two-Finger-Click.  I appear to have version 19.3.4.216 of the drivers installed, for what it's worth. I also found this SuperUser post about changing Synaptics registry settings, and it looks like 2FingerPressButtonAction is the setting I want to change, but I've tried changing that to 0 in the registry to turn off Two-Finger-Click, and it hasn't worked for me. (I also tried finding this on a Surface Book today with no luck, so maybe it's a Windows 10 issue and not Lenovo specific.  But it's still driving me crazy and I'd love to change it.)

I read this on another forum while after selecting a link on this forum. It seems to have gotten rid of the edge double swipe. "I got a Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga this weekend (loving it!) but noticed an annoying quirk ? the different Windows 8 edge swipe actions seemed to require two swipes. A few reviews have run into this as well, such as this one from ZDNet.Once you got it reacting to your swipes, though, everything was instantaneous. After experimentation, it turns out that not touching the screen for about 4 seconds was enough to put it into this double-swipe mode ? which is evidence of some sort of sleep mode.It turns out that this doesn?t just cause edge swipes to go missing ? it causes a general feel of sluggishness and lack of reaction. You click a button, and it doesn?t register. You click again, and it finally does. After a bunch of digging and unrelated searches, it turns out that it is indeed a sleep mode issue ? the driver for the touch screen has the option enabled to let Windows put it to sleep. The solution is simple:Open Device ManagerGo to "Human Interface Devices"Go to the last USB Input Device (my Yoga has two), then "Properties"Open "Power Management"Unselect "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"."
