Q: Lenovo System Update suggest updates that are alre...

Hi there, I have a T460s and when running Lenovo System Update, there are a couple of updates that are suggested, but I have that version already installed. Is this a bug in the System Update application? Examples:Lenovo Power Management Driver - 10 [32,64]It shows:Version: 1.67.12.16 Installed Version: 1.67.12.16 If I try to install it, after successful installation next time System Update runs it again suggests to install this "update". Similarly under Optional updates it showsRealtek Audio Driver - 10 [64]Version: 6.0.1.7898However when I look up the details and check which version I currently have, it is exactly the same version. And also here if I try to install the update, next time System Update again suggests I have this update available. I find this all a bit strange. Thanks,Jorik

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

T460p here. After I updated my Windows 10 to Fall Creator Update - Lenovo System Update Shows 11 Updates that are already installed - so it want's to install the same drivers over and over again. Probably a bug. Anyone with the same experience?

Hey all ... here is a screenshot of the current state of affairs: Note: this is the Win 10 Pro 64-bit OS, Version 1803 ... Windows Update is ' ... up to date'. I have tried various Lenovo Vantage Critical / Recommended / Optional update selections (in their respective groups and / or alone) and re-booted every time following failed system updates ... I cannot seem to break whatever log jam is occurring here. I thought perhaps trying the IME 11.6 Firmware - 10 [64] - V.11.8.55.3510 update alone, or, the ThinkPad BIOS Update - 10 [64] - V.2.26.1.18 update alone (they are both 'Reboot Required' updates) might get me past this issue, however, so far, no joy.  There is a 'Fully charged (100%)' battery installed in the system. Thanks for any insights offered, FFF P.S.  I would also be interested to find a Lenovo drivers list of older Synaptics Pointing Device (ThinkPad UltraNav / Touchpad) drivers for my P70 machine ... does such a historical driver resource exist?  The reason being, the more recent touchpad drivers are unsuitable for me ... too sensitive / 'sticky' (adjustment of various touchpad settings doesn't cure the usability issues) ... I much preferred the behaviours of the earlier drivers but can now only Roll Back to Driver Version: 19.3.4.202 (16-Jan-18) ... I'd much rather use the July 2017 driver version, whatever the version number was (possibly 19.3.4.112).

I have a new T470p (type 20J6) with Windows 10 Enterprise x64 Build 16296 and System Update v5.07.0065. When I run System Update I am shown 11 optional updates. I select all these updates, click 'Next >' then 'Download'. The packages are downloaded and installed (9 successful, 2 could not be installed) then I reboot the laptop. If I then run System Update again I am offered exactly the same 11 optional updates. I've been through the entire process 5 or 6 times now. How can I 'reset' System Update so it doesn't keep offering me the same updates which it says have been successfully installed? UPDATE: If I install and use the 'Lenovo Companion' app and select 'System Update' from there I am told 'No updates are available. Your system is up to date'.

Trying to make sure my drivers were up-to-date I ran across the newer version of the System Update app. When I tried to install, it gave me this error:The old version is now none existant in Programs and Features. Any ideas? These are not working/detecting updates for my system. They report no packages/drivers found/available for my system. However, if I go to the support site and manually browse through the drivers list, I find a few that are recommended (and newer than what I have installed) and one urgent (newer than I have installed)The urgent one is Intel ME for version 11.8.55.3510 - I have 11.8.50.3460 installedThe recommended one is Diagnostics Lite for version 4.22.0 - I have 4.20.1 installed When I run the following command, I get; c:\drivers\win\me\meinfowin.exe Intel MEInfo Version: 11.8.50.3460 Any ideas why new drivers are not being detected? This happened once before, and I manually installed the drivers. I have not manually installed these latest drivers yet. My system is Windows 10 Pro - Version 1803 - Build 17134.191BIOS - N1DET98W 2.24Vantage - 4.12.13.0System Update 5 - 5.07.0072Lenovo Service Bridge - 4.0.6.4Support Automatic Driver Update - what's provided on support.lenovo.com ThanksDoug

A:P70: Vantage/System Update 5/Automatic Driver Update not detecting drivers/updates

Vantage and Lenovo System Update both use the SU catalog. The SU catalog is updated with the new driver around 30 days after it shows up on the support page.Lenovo must quality test the driver and build .XML entries for the catalog. Thus your support page has the most current drivers.

Hi, I wonder if someone  can help me. Each time I will start Lenovo System Update on Thinkpad T460S, it shows me that two critical updates are required: Graphic Driver and Wireless LAN adapter driver. After installation and reboot I can still see the same updates in the "System Update". It looks like catalogue issue? Smae happens when I try Scan for drivers directly via web support page with drivers. OS: Windows 10 Enteprise LTSB 1607Graphic driver version installed: 21.20.16.4534  Anyone experiencing the same issue?

I just saw the new Client System Update utility for my E6500, downloaded, and installed it on Win7 x64. I've been talking about Dell creating such a util for years and finally Dell did.

However, it does not work. After I press the Check for updates button, after a bit it comes back with "Check for updates failed" and the GUI-U15 error in the logs. I tried many times, including after a reboot. Also, the app just disappears (probably crashes silently) when I go to Advanced->system details.

Any ideas? I was excited to spread the word around about it but can't as it doesn't work at all.

I can't find anything relating to this update on any Lenovo site, and the response I got from calling support was "Sorry." They were also not able to tell me when they think this will be fixed. EDIT: Spelling.

Hello, I recently acquired a Leveno T440s thinkpad refurbished. Windows 10 fresh install was done at the store.I ran the windows update software and installed all the updates.I ran the System Update software from Levono, and it installed many updates. Now, Windows Update is up-to-date, but the Levono system update keeps showing the following updatesRecommended updates: Levono Power Management Driver 1.67.12.24Optional updates: Intel HD graphics driver 20.19.15.4501, Intel WLAN driver for 7260 19.50.1, Synaptics UltraNav Driver 19.0.17.115. I installed all these updates, restarted the computer, and the next time I run system update, they are all listed again. I have installed them a number of times, all the while it keeps re-listing them. Any suggestions? The computer actually runs fine, but its annoying to think that the updates are either not getting installed, or the updater is malfunctioning. Thank you

Hi, I have a computer i have been trying to update. Its windows Vista 32bit, everytime i try and update it says the updates have failed, whether its doing a shutdown or through windows updates or even installing them manually they all tend to fail. Ive downloaded sp2 to install manually but it still fails, tried downloading system rediness and installing that, all it does is install a hotfix and then doesnt seem to install anything else, but that still doesnt seem to fix the problem. Ran windows fix-it and that still didnt work.

Ive ran various virus scans, reg cleaners, few other things but nothing seems to get this thing up and going.

How can i get updates to work properly again, it takes this comp like an hour to shut down each time i do because there are so many updates.

I upgraded to Windows 10 on my ThinkPad Twist. After that, I ran Lenovo's System Update and downloaded and installed all the recommended updates. Now when I reboot I get a message saying that C:\Program Files (X86)\Thinkpad\Utilities\PWMTR64V.dll is missing. Searching the Lenovo support site for this DLL file name shows that it is related to Windows 7 Power Management. However, one of the updates from Lenovo was Power Management for Windows 10. I am hesitant to install the Power Management update for Windows 7 (which I'm guessing will solve my missing DLL problem, but maybe not) after installing such an update specific to Windows 10. But I don't want to have to have that popup message about a missing DLL every time I boot. Anyone know how I can resolved this?

A:Missing DLL after Lenovo System Update

I have a T540p (x64) and am also getting the PWMTR64V.dll that started fairly recently. It's also been updated to Windows 10 (last year), and like you, given the fix apparently relates to a Windows 7 process, I'm reluctant to update/install it. I went to the pages suggested by the original solution, but both throw 404s. Not real sure where to go with this either, and on the assumption it's a bogus error for this OS/machine, I'd just as soon like to have it stop prompting if possible. elaine

Hello! I'm a bit new to GPOs and working on the server so please forgive misleading terms if I mention something that's not quite correct, but I'm trying to configure Lenovo System Update to run automatically in the background, with very little user input. We want the laptops to just grab updates directly from Lenovo so they get the latest and greatest. So when I move the ADM to the directory, this error pops up. I've been doing some research online before posting this query, but I haven't found anything that I understand that points me at a possible solution. If any of you out there in Lenovo Forum land know what I might do to fix this, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

Hi.
I am having problems with windows when it tries to update the OS but apparently not when it tries to do Apps like Office as demonstrated by this screenshot:

Having looked through the error codes they are as follows:

KB3146963 - 800F0826

KB2952664 - 800F0826
KB3149090 - 800F0826
KB3148198 - 80073AA2

I have tried the various fixes of un-registering/registering the windows update components as well as clearing the cache locally. I even tried straight out upgrading to Windows 10 which didn't work either

Ran SURT and it installed KB947821 (it has done this before)
Ran sfc /scannow (no integrity violations)

The logs are linked below although I did remove CbsPersist_*.cab and CbsPersist_*.log as these were massive and, I imagine, archives.

Any help is appreciated as I have now run out of ideas

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

Lenovo Security Advisory: LEN-2015-011
Potential Impact: Execution of arbitrary code
Severity: Medium

Summary:
Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified within Lenovo System Update (previously known as ThinkVantage System Update). Lenovo has released a new version of the Lenovo System Update software that addresses these vulnerabilities.

Description:
Lenovo System Update validates all system update files as they are downloaded from the Lenovo servers. However, if the local system contains malware, it is possible that the downloaded updates could be altered before installation creating a race condition. The latest Lenovo System Update release eliminates this possibility. Lenovo System Update uses a service called SUService.exe to run system updates. As part of the authentication and validation process the service only accepts commands if a valid security token is passed along with the command. Vulnerabilities were discovered on how the security tokens were generated allowing an attacker to run commands. The latest Lenovo System Update release fixes the token authentication flaws.
Other security issues were also addressed in this update.
Mitigation Strategy for Customers (what you should do to protect yourself):
Starting from April 1, 2015, run Lenovo System Update and install the latest version of the application, version 5.06.0034 or later. You can determine the currently installed version by opening Lenovo System Update, clicking on the green question mark in the ... Read more

A) Why is it that inhttp://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-p-series-laptops/thinkpad-p...followed by entering my P50's serial numberI see updates available as optional, for example https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/n1dww14w.txt (I am running Windows x64 Creators Update/1703)but in the update app (both metro and 32 bit standard app) the same patch is not listed under optional or anywhere else?  B) Why don't some recommended updates EVER show up in (any of the) the apps? I've used the update app several times since March 30th, but I am still running 1.82.00.07 when I should be running 1.82.0.14 or later.C) Is there a delay in making the updates available thru the apps vs when they become available via the site? Please advise. I'd like to have to follow only 1 update information source, preferably the standard windows (non metro) app, since I can't hide updates in the metro app.
