I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey Lenovo Forum:

I'm having a battery charging problem that seems slightly different from any on this forum so far. I just acquired a T430 running Windows 7 (64-bit) like a charm. After a few issues with the audio drivers, everything has been running smoothly.

Abruptly, yesterday, when I plugged it into the wall socket (the same socket that it had sucessfully charged on earlier) it failed to charge. Thinking it was the outlet, I tested it. The outlet and adapter are both working fine (the adapter powers the computer no problem with the battery removed from the system). The lock switch on the battery is in the propper position (i've tried both). The battery is not overheated (it's cool to the touch). I tried removing everything and holding the power button (apparently that discharges some built up charge in the system) then reconnecting the battery and AC adapter, nothing.

I just downloaded the power manager which (when the laptop is, in fact, running off of AC power (the battery charge indicator hasn't draining in hours of continuous use) reads:

Despite the manufacturer's claim of 7 hours battery life on my Lenovo Ideapad 320S-14IKB - 81BN (S/N: MP1CHQTJ), I only get around 3-4 hours. This is with light usage, Reddit, a little bit of youtube etc. CPU usage was mostly around 0-5% the entire time. This was with the max CPU state in power settings reduced from 100% to 85%. However, I do have the screen at 100% brightness. As a different test, I tried doing (almost) nothing (apart from keeping the screen bright), and got 6 hours out of the battery. Is there a simple solution to increase this? It's only a 30 Wh battery (2 cell). Maybe in the future, a 60 Wh (4 cell?) one will come out for this model?

Hi,I replaced the battery of my T430 two months ago. I have not used it too much, it has got maximum 10 cycles in it. Now programs like aida64 tells that the designed capacity of the battery is 86580 mWh and its fully charged capacity is 80090 mWh. The laptop has been reinstalled since the battery changing. So, now the battery is 7% worned. But if we look at the real designed capacity (93600 mWh after the first charge) it is 14%.Isn't that wear too high after 10 cycles? Should I send the battery back to the shop where I bought it? Thanks,

Hi i recently bought a lenovo z51, but i am disapointed in the battery life, i have taken the laptop apart and can see that there is loads of space which is not being used. I google for a new battery and found this option, so my question is this, would it fit my laptop and if so would it bring about much more battery life?  http://www.chargers-pc.co.uk/lenovo-laptop-batteries-c-52_11/original-laptop-battery-lenovo-z5170-48... this is the one that is currently in the laptop:http://www.chargers-pc.co.uk/lenovo-laptop-batteries-c-52_11/laptop-battery-lenovo-z41-z51-z4170-z41... I only get around 2 hours usage, which is unacceptable, and you can see why as the battery is about the same size as most tablets which is rediculous ThanksGeorge

I have been having no luck with regards to this laptop and its quite appalling battery life!  I have had the machine since November 2018 and according to my Windows 10 Battery Report my Estimated Avg battery life is 2h47min.  This is a FAR cry from the 7+ hours advertised.  This is running Chrome and Visual Studio Code.  I would like an actual answer from a Lenovo Representative regarding this as this is a far cry from what I was expecting!

I am also running Chrome and VS Code on my P1, which has the same hardware as X1 Extreme, but on Linux. I can get 7-8 hour battery life when running Intel GPU. Battery life with NVIDIA GPU is much shorter. If you connect your laptop to external monitors, it has to run NVIDIA GPU, so that might be affecting battery life.

I know there are a number of posts regarding battery life on the current generation of X1 Yoga/X1 Carbon both here and on Reddit, but I didn't see a detailed discussion of battery life problems with the the FHD display. I've got the late-2019 model X1 Yoga Gen 4 with the FHD (380-nit) display and an i7-10710U processor, 16GB. Last year I purchased a similar product with the 4K UHD display (and the older 8th-gen chip). I was disappointed with the ~3-4 hour battery life and returned the machine. It was too bad, but I figured it wasn't fair to expect anything like the advertised maximum life with that beautiful display. So I recently purchased basically the same maching with the FHD display and the 10th-generation processor. I thought this display (and maybe the sleeker processor) would give me much better battery life. And here I am doing web browsing and word processing, "battery saver" mode, dim screen, and getting between 5-6 hours. This isn't totally unusable, but it is ridiculous for a machine advertised with 18-hour battery life. Latest BIOS, all the Lenovo Vantage updates, and just reset the battery gauge. Any ideas? Anyone else experiencing disappointing battery life with the FHD display?

After upgrading to it, my battery life is now about 3 Hours and I didn't change anything. My workload is also the same. There is also no process in the background which is killing the battery and the Intel graphic chip is working fine. I absolutly have no clue what I can do. Hello, I got a 730 yoga a few weeks ago for college. I only used it at home and occasionally at the library, always hooked up to a charger, up until last week when I arrived on campus. Recently, its problems when unplugged have made this laptop nearly unbearable to use. It has terrible performance relative to being plugged in despite having a battery life of 3 hours at most, with merely switching desktops and typing on onenote taking ages and it barely being able to survive for the duration of a few back-to-back afternoon classes. When I tried to increase the performance by making the minimum CPU power from 5% to 100%, there was a slight increase in performance, but still far behind performance whilst charging. This laptop is advertised as having an 11.5 hour maximum battery life, but in practice it barely lasts a fourth of that, and slugglishly so to boot. There is no clear damage to the computer and these problems have existed for as long as I've had it, so I assume that there is something up with the software. I'd like help ASAP. I wouldn't want a mere hardware issue to mess up my college experience.

I've recently bought a Lenovo Yoga 720 13IKB, considering the battery as one of its biggest pros due to some reviews and adds I read in the Internet. Unfortunately, even after a 100% charge, I can't get no longer than 4h30 / 5 h of battery lifetime prediction / battery lifetime.  I have already decreased brightness, I almost have no apps running in background, but unfortunately it doesn't gets better. The situation is even worse considering that I'm not doing anything but surfing online, texting in word or taking a look at some pictures in Windows Gallery. Have anyone experienced the same problem? Can someone please help me? Is that true that we can get 10h30 (or a bit less, I wouldn't care) like it was advertised or that was just a commercial bait? Thanks in advance!

Last week my laptop was able to get through a 6 and a half hour school day and still have a little charge left over--I could still work on it for another half hour or so when I got home. Yesterday, it died at the end of my first two classes, and that's only about three and a half hours. For my last and longest class, I had to borrow paper for notes. I hadn't even opened my laptop before I got to school. Looking at a full charge now, it says it's only good for 3 hours and 20 minutes.I have no idea what's changed from last week to this one. I haven't installed any updates, and I don't use any programs that eat up a lot of CPU, especially during class. If there's anything different, the fan has been louder than usual. Can anybody shed some light on what might've happened? Edit: some useful information I forgot to add is that this laptop is less than a year old. The battery is much too young to be degrading this quickly.

Now it seems to lose the same amount of battery in a weak 140 seconds(just a little bit more than 2 minutes!). Can someone please help me find the cause and if I can fix it?
