Q: X220 Tablet Screen type identify ( and touch input...

Hey to everyone. I have a question since lenovo seems to lack on a informations when it comes to this. I bought a used X220 and cant identify if it should be multitouch or pen input only model. Screen part number is (according to lenovo page):04W3462Model Number is 42962WUTouchscreen with finger doesnt work ( if it has any).I dont have a pen (stylus) currently since it was not provided with laptop BUT:Windows in properties says : No pen or touch input is available for this display .Reinstalled windows freshly twice along with drivers (once manually downloaded , second time used Lenovo System update)Still says the same, and there is no tablet or pen and touch settings in control panel. In some other topics , someone suggested to similar problem as a solution installing wacom pen drivers, lenovo digitizer drivers etc.Tried provided drivers , and with every driver throws the same error : a supported tablet was not found on the systemMaybe it has to detect pen near the laptop and it should be fine?Did I just got ripped off? Thanks a bunch!

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: X220 Tablet Screen type identify ( and touch input...

Ok, so the lcd is definitely multitouch , which is now a reason to concern .Basically , windows recognize it as a laptop, no hid touch input devices in device manager whatsoever. Is this a common issue? Tryed unpluging and plugging back in LCD micro cables but nothing.

Hi everyone, I have a Lenovo X220 Tablet that has touch screen and pen. They suddenly stopped working today. The LCD screen still works pefectly fine, however. The touch screen is enabled on the touch settings. When I try to calibrate, it does not detect my finger or the pen. I also noticed that when I tried to reinstall the driver and it said "a supported tablet was not found on this system". I have the most recent bios. I am running Windows 7 that came with the laptop. All windows updates completed. Is it possible for the digitizer to be defective, but the LCD screen to work perfectly fine?Could it be just a ribbon failure?Which part would need to be replaced, if this is the case? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

A:X220 tablet touch screen suddenly stopped working

Even though it looks like a single device, it is really 3 separate ones.  There is a basic panel.  There is a static discharge digitizer in the front to sense finger touches.  There is a second Wacom digitizer behind the panel to detect the pen.  Any of them can fail.  The wires in the cable can also crack.  Since both digitizers failed, I would first look in device manager to see if there could be a problem with a USB hub.  (digitizers both connect as USB devices.)  My next guess would be the cable.  Sorry I cannot be more definite.

My X220 tablet comes with pen and limited touch support with 2 touch points. I have no issues on windows 7 but on windows 8.1 it has changed to be working with only 1 touch point since some time that I don't remember exactly when. So that I can work with one finger only and 2-finger functions such as pinch to zoom are unavailable. My drivers are all uptodate. I think I should completely uninstall the related driver before reinstalling but don't know how to procede and couldn't find the solution. I tried uninstalling all HIDs through Device manager and one-by-one, specifically wacom device. when I uninstall it, I lose touch option completely. but reinstalling through Device Manager sounds like recovering exactly the previous faulty condition. Maybe there is a conflict with windows 8.1 like Microsoft Input Configuration Device which might be unlikely.  So is there any other way to have full wipe and clean reinstall of those touch screen drivers? I appreciate it if you put links to the drivers for me, if they are not available on Lenovo Support. Tell me if you had the same touch issue in Windows 8.1  and how you solved it. Thanks

Hello. My problem can be seen here. Ignore my commentary.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7la_0KObbc I have an issue with my touchscreen consistently, frequently, taking anywhere from 2-15 (!) taps to regonize input. Once it does, it latches on immediately and functions until I begin using the KB/Mouse for some time. If I drag my finger, it recognizes it immediately, but it can sometimes take 1-5 inches of movement before it starts to recognize input. Suggestions welcomed. I'm willing to try anything at this point, including replacing the whole display assembly. I have tried:Windows touch calibrationDisabling Wacom flicksClearing any calibrationsBrand new OS installThis issue is somewhat/slightly present in OS installers - a la, before Windows 10 loads...Disabling USB Power Management on the USB Touchscreen as well as the Wacom device.Disabled USP Selective Suspend in power options.Updated to latest BIOS (Date September of 2016)

I aquired an HP TX1305US convertable touch tablet. it seems to have some issues with the touch screen. first of all, half the time, the touch doesn't work. anytime i flip the screen around into tablet mode, the pointer goes haywire and when i go back to laptop mode, the pointer is stuck in the corner, and it can't be moved. also, the application toolbar comes up and the only way to fix it is to reboot. i uninstalled the tablet functionality through windows and reinstalled and the problem is still there. additionally, when the touch screen was working, i had to use alot of pressure. i was kind of expecting it to work like an ipod touch or pda. i'm not sure if this could be hardware or software. the laptop has vista ultimate. i checked ho for all the updates and everything should be current. any ideas of what could be the problem?

This is the video driver version for my HP tablet(HP Website). But unknowingly I installed the latest version(7.15.11.7770) from NVIDIA through Windows update. And from that time onwards, my touch screen stopped working. It is not recognizing my stylus/finger.
I contacted HP care and they advised me to follow these steps.
1) Uninstall the latest driver and install the 11.5682 driver
2) Bios Flash
3) Calibrate
I am done with the first two steps but still my touch screen is not recognizing the pen. So I couldn't calibrate.
When I contacted the HP care again, they are telling it may be because of hardware failure. My notebook is working perfectly except this touchscreen.

Please anyone help me to solve the issue.

I have just bought a 7" Android tablet from China at a very good price. It works well except for one thing, scrolling on the touch screen. I have to press hard to get it to scroll which causes it to open up what was pressed or it will scroll very quickly to the bottom of the page. I don't seem to have any control over the scrolling. I have contacted the company about this and I am waiting on a reply. Would anyone have a solution to this problem? Thanks.

This is my first post here. I use PSPro for drawing for fun. I use a mouse. Recently I was given a tablet. In theory this is better, as holding a pen is easier than the mouse for drawing. The main problem is that the image is on the laptop screen and the pen is on the plain tablet, so you have to guess where to start drawing by moving the pen around until the cursor is positioned where you want it. The next problem is that I do not want to relearn all the PSP commands (and positions around the edge) on the tablet. The mouse works with the tablet, but putting the pen down to use the mouse is a hassle. There are expensive (around 1000) tablets with a touch screen where you draw on the image, just like a pencil on paper. Too expensive for me. Is there a touch-screen tablet that will work with Paint Shop Pro? What about an Ipad? I dont really know how a touch screen works with a programme liike PSP. Do you just touch the screen in the same place as you would position the cursor? Does a tablet have USB ports so I could save my work on a memory stick, or by cable to the drive in my laptop? I dont know if its possible, but If I could draw on the touch screen and save my work on my laptop, this would be ideal. I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

I own a Fujitsu TH700 Tablet PC. It initially ran Windows 7 and everything was working really well on it, but then I upgraded to Windows 10 (I was curious) and some features just have not worked properly since. The one problem that I have been unable to fix is the touch screen. When the computer is in its "laptop position" (see image) the touch screen works just fine. However, when I rotate the screen and click it into the "tablet position" the touch screen becomes completely unresponsive. When I lift the lid again into the "laptop position", the screen remains unresponsive until I put the computer to sleep and wake it up again. After that, it works completely fine.

When the laptop screen is turned and clicked into the "tablet position", there is a programming shift that happens to turn the laptop into "tablet mode" (this is not the same as Windows 10 tablet mode. In-fact, Windows 10 tablet mode doesn't recognize me turning the screen and clicking it into the "tablet position"). I'm not sure what the differences are between the TH700's laptop mode and tablet mode. The only thing I can see is that the screen auto rotates (as shown in the image).

This malfunction started occurring soon after I downloaded Windows 10, but I'm fairly sure it was working properly for a week or so. It was only when I connected my TH700 (in the "tablet position") into an external projector that the touch scree... Read more

I have an ASUS tablet that I don't know the model nor is it listed anywhere on the tablet. it originally had a detachable keyboard but the guy that gave it to me didn't have it. according to device manager, it has a generic touch screen driver. I have frequent unresponsiveness and sporadic automatic touches a with the touch screen, and I think it may be due to the generic touch screen drivers. If I had the ASUS one, I think it would work better. Device manager reports the hardware ID as: HID\VEN_ATML&DEV_1000&Col01 but no search engine can find it. Google had only two pages of results, all of which were dodgy. Many others like Yahoo only had one page of results of the same dodgy or other dodgy results. I was wondering if you can lead me to the right one. You have been so helpful with finding me drivers before so I am sure it would be no problem.

Windows XP Tablet Edition had to be removed from my Lenovo ThinkPad X41 tablet because the PC was issued for school, and the school-licensed software had to be removed. Now I'm running Windows XP Pro (a mistake on the school technical administrator's part?), and the touch screen no longer responds to the stylus.
I tried to contact the school technical administrator, calling to his attention that I'm no longer running Tablet Edition, which is probably necessary, but he has not responded.
I've tried installing such drivers as 7jge15ww and 913z07us, and I've run the ThinkVantage System Update several times, to no avail. Is there a driver I'm overlooking? Is it at all possible to simply USE my tablet properly without having to go out and buy Windows XP Tablet Edition?

You can get Recovery Discs from IBM is the built in Recovery partition and utility are not longer on the laptop from IBM/Lenovo by going here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-4M7HWZ

If the Recovery Partition is still intact and accessible you can return to Windows XP Tablet Edition by following these instructions: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4UFUYK

Looking at the downloads I don't see a driver for the Touch Screen: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67100
When you ran the System Update utility you installed all the drivers and software/accessories updates?

Hi

I've just acquired a Satellite R10-101 Laptop/Tablet.

The machine did not come with a touch pen so I am unsure if the touch screen is working or not.

When the machine is in tablet mode the touch screen does not respond to any touch with a finger. I have tried a pointing device from a hand held Windows CE device that has a touch screen but this does not work on the R10's touch screen.

Does the touch screen need to be enabled or do I need to obtain a Toshiba Touch Pen?

The machine is running Windows XP Tablet Edition. Will I get the same functionally if I upgrade to Windows 7. Is the R10's hardware compatible with Win 7?

Thanks for any help or advice.

Hi

The display panel works as a touch sensitive digitizer screen.
You need the Tablet Pen in order to use the touch display in tablet mode.

I think that you can order the missing tablet pen from Toshiba authorized service partner in your country or google for the part numbers: P000407550 or P000445420

I have a basic model of the YOGA 300 (11 BY).  Due to size limitations of the eMMC drive, I couldn't upgrade to windows 10 (not enough disk space). So I downloaded the windows 10 installer/ISO to a 32gb SD Card, and upgraded from there.. actually (probably a mistake in retrospect) I did a clean install.. Windows 10 runs with no problems, and I downloaded./installed all the Lenovo drivers for windows 10 for this machine. Unfortunately I now have two issues: 1. When I flip the screen into tablet mode, the laptop doesn't seem to realise, and so I don't get the auto-tablet mode that I would expect? 2. Even with all the Lenovo drivers for this machine installed, I do not get any touch-screen response at all.. only mouse driven. Any help would be appreciated. P.S:  Anyone with the same version of YOGA 300 with an eMMC who wish to gain more drive space?  You can buy a cheap USB 3.0 slimline USB disk (because the SD Card sticks out a bit) and create a VHD which gives you a second "real drive"... this was particularlly useful when wanting to store my dropbox/onedrive sync locations!

My son showed me his iPad today running a program called Notability. He had a special pen used to write on the screen and he could store is drawings and/or notes as files the same as we store Word documents.

I have no desire to change to a Mac so here's what I'm considering.
A Windows 10 touch-screen-type tablet with i7 (or maybe i5) processor, a keyboard that can either be used like a stand-up laptop and folded back for use like a tablet.
A program like his Notability for Windows (I have no idea what is available or what it would be called.)

Advice and accounts of your experience appreciated.

PS, I really don't care for the Microsoft Surface Pro I have seen and have found so far that Asus seems to give a really good bang for the buck.

A:Windows 8 tablet touch keyboard DISAPPEARED from login screen!

I don't know if this will help you but it solved a similar problem I had on my Windows 8 touch PC:
If you are able to reach the Start/app tile screen or desktop and from there "view local services" which you can find by typing "services" in the Start screen scroll down the list until you come to the "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service" which
should say "Automatic (triggered)" and "Running"
From there "right-click" that service (or otherwise get into its properties), click the "Log On" Tab, click the first option under "Log on as:" (circle button "Local System account") and make sure to Check box "Allow service to interact with desktop"
For me this box somehow became unchecked when I "Refreshed" my windows 8 to solve another issue. Once I checked the box, the keyboard started to reappear at the login screen.

Hello everyone, So I been sending my All in One desktop to Samsung to find out whats wrong with the touch screen. And this is the second time its been sent in in the past 3 weeks. Today they called after it being there for about a day and they told me that the touch screen issue is something wrong with Windows 8 and told me to wait until 8.1 is released. They said when the screen is calibrated with the tablet PC settings that is when the issue happens. (But sadly its the issue still happens) But they say it doesn't.

The issue is when your not using the touch screen it acts like you are and on the right edge of the screen every 5-10mins. How I can tell is I have Rapr installed and it takes screen shots of my desktop. Also I know there is a issue when you have a screensaver and it turns off every 5-10 mins.

So does anyone know of any major touch screen issues in Windows 8 or is Samsung trying to lie to me about trying to fix my computer.

Hi,I'm not seeing X220 T listed by Lenovo in laptops-windows 10 compatibilty list...??? Is that right? Mine is a 3 years old system... I can't believe is not going to be possible to use Windows 10... Anyone has tried it?Thanks.

A:Windows 10 support for X220 Tablet

Hello,

It may work fine with Windows 10, however, I don't believe its generation of CPU, IGP and chipset are supported by Intel for Windows 10, which means that Lenovo can't support them, either.  For what it is worth, I installed Windows 10 on a ThinkPad X61t and didn't notice any issues, and that has been out of support for a much longer time than your X220t.

That said, it could be that Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 drivers for the various bits of silicon inside your X220 tablet may work just fine under Windows 10, in which case you would be up and running.

The best suggestion I have is to make a thorough backup of your X220 and then try applying the Windows 10 Upgrade.  If it doesn't work, you will be able to wipe the drive and then reload your backup.

Regards,

Hello all, I have this massive problem with my cursor randomly moving and clicking all over the screen without being touched. I hadn't had this problem until after I had my cracked screen replaced with a new one. I've tried unplugging the mouse, disabling the touchpad, etc. and nothing. Help would be awesome. Thanks ahead.

Hi, I just received my X220 Tablet, it has the UltraNav touchpad AND the touchscreen.  The mouse was not working correctly, lots of pauses when highlighting or copy/pasting.  Also, screens wouldn't finish loading on some websites without moving mouse.  Called TechSupport, she signed onto my computer and downloaded new (updated) driver.  Worked perfectly!  Until... I turned on the machine the next day (actually I woke it up but it happened with start as well).  Completely frozen mouse, like the entire thing didn't exist.  Weird: only on my own profile, not my husband's and not the Admin that I later created.  Managed to get into Control Panel > Mouse and found the UltraNav tab with all info grayed out, like there was no driver at all!  Went to drivers, found 2: the original and the new.  Should one have been removed?  Is it OK to have 2?  Reinstalled the newer driver and everything OK til I shut it down again, then back to square 1.  It's like the computer has decided there is no driver at all when I shut it off, even when I only sleep. Called back TS a few times, finally someone told me to delete my whole profile and create it again (after moving it to a hard drive so it would save all my docs and settings...which it did not save EVERYTHING, not my bookmarks, not all my programs, not all my files...fortunately, I also backed up everything to same hard drive the more traditional w... I sometimes dock my ThinkPad X220 Tablet in an UltraBase Series 3 connected to AC power, external display, keyboard, and mouse. In this setup I would prefer to keep the tablet screen closed while the machine is running. But the computer always puts itself to sleep when I close it, even though I have set the power options to 'Do nothing' when I close the lid.I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. Can anyone here help me to fix this please?

White circles about 1 cm in diameter drop from the top down about 1/3 into the screen from the left edge. The keyboard and touch pad locks meanwhile, and I cannot use the laptop. This phenomenon typically occurs after a Windows 10 upgrade and can persist for several days with some breaks in between. Is this a hardware issue? How can I solve it?

I replied in a another post also, sorry for that.. But I hope this post get's more attention. I just bought a x220 Tablet but my touchscreen doesn't work at all. I bought de computer with  Windows 10 installed on it. I just used WacomhardwareCheck and it gave the message: 'your hardware does not appear input capabilities and is not currently supported by the Wacom FEEL driver'.So, does this mean my touchscreen is broken and doesn't work? Is there a hardware problem? How can I see if the touchscreen is registered by Windows?it would be great if someone could help me to get this thing working... I think the touchscreen makes this an interesting machine...

Hi, Yesterday I bought a used X220 Tablet - the version with Gorilla Glass - and installed Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) on it.What a great little computer this is! But what disappointed me was the lack of precision of the pen that came with the tablet. Unfortunately I could not find a setting - or program - to calibrate the pen. On this forum I learned that a lot of owners have to deal with a pen that is not accurate. On one of the posts I read it was mentioned that the digitizer in the X220 Tablet is made by Wacom, so I went their website for a recent drivers. Luckily, I soon found an appropriate tool, the Wacom Hardware Check, on ftp://ftp.wacom-europe.com/pub/WINDOWS/WacomHardwareCheck.exe . After downloading and running it, I was told:"You have hardware that is compatible with the Wacom FEEL driver. You can download the latest driver here: http://www.wacom.com/feeldriver " The URL led to a file on http://cdn.wacom.com/u/drivers/TabletPC/ISD_DualTouch_732-12.exeThe file is about 24 Mb in size. After downloading and installing it, I was able to calibrate the screen, with 25(!) calibration points. Accuracy is great now; not only in landscape, but also in portrait mode! Since I found no reference on this forum to the Wacom FEEL driver in combination with the X220 Tablet running on Windows 10, I thought it might be interesting to others in this forum. Cheers!
