I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a X1 Yoga 2nd Gen, purchased about 6 months ago. I have an issue where the tab key keeps getting stuck under the keyboard cover, and I have to move it around to get it back up. The problem seems to be getting worse, and it is becoming very annoying. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and has been able to get it fixed. I have the basic 1-year depot warranty. Thanks.

Hi All,

I see this has been mentioned once before, but there doesnt seem to be any clear answer.

Basically the gpu on  my Yoga 3 11, is stuck at 0.48 Ghz 99% of the time, leaving the laptop more or less useless!

See image below.

Very occasionally it will get un stuck and run like a dream, ive been hoping a bios update would fix it and to be honest after an update it did seem to run un restricted for a short while. When i say it runs like a dream, its shows up at around 1.9Ghz on the Task Manager/Performance screen.

Its not being restricted by my power plan option (as far as i know), I usually run it on High Power setting, I have gone through the power Options and not noticed anything strange,

BEing either plugged in or not, doesnt make any difference.

I haven't noticed any pattern as to the reason why the CPU is very rarely unrestricted.

I have included a few pictures below and im happy to supply any other info which may help diagnosis.

As i say the laptop in its current state, is basically useless and only just about manages to surf the internet.
If i dont find a solution soon, i have no choice but to take it back.

Thanks alot in advance for you help!

I recently got the yoga 13 and love it. I first upgrade the ram to 8gb and it worked flawlessly. I just installed a second mSata ssd (256gb) and it's recognized and works, but now the volume up key seems to be stuck... It constantly shows the volume at 100 because it thinks it's being pressed. If I hold volume down it will go down but immediately go back up as soon as I let go. Any suggestions? I've already tried taking the keyboard out and reinserting the ribbon cable but that didn't change anything.

Apparently not. Anyone else had problems with low build quality of recent thinkpads? Is it just Yoga, or P40 as well? I'm considering changing for some more robust laptop.

Hello, I just received a new Yoga 2 13, 8Gb, 256Gb SSD. I have been using it exclusively as a laptop. It worked just fine for a few days. I did notice once the screen flipped sideways and the keyboard turned off randomly but after turning the laptop on its side and back, everything went back to normal. Today, after closing the lid and putting the machine to sleep, then waking it up, it awoke in tablet mode with the sideways screen and turned off keyboard. To do anything I have to use the on-screen keyboard, which does work. Nothing I did could get it to go back to laptop mode, or for autorotate to ever work. Rebooted several times, no. The "Lenovo" signage does show correctly in landscape as soon as the machine turns on, but once it gets to the login window, it's back to sideways tablet mode. The auto-rotate button (which I had never touched prior) doesn't appear to do anything. I click the button, it says "autorotate off" then I click it again to "autorotate on" and still no rotation. I called Lenovo technical support, and he tried (after remote desktoping into my machine) to try a different display driver. The Windows "Basic" Driver, the Intel Driver from March 2014, and the latest Lenovo display drivers downloaded did nothing. He turned off "ycp" or something similar as a startup service, no help. In Screen Resolution, he changed the orientation of the display from portrait to landscape which did fix the orientation problem but did n... For the past several weeks, I've been noticing touch points stuck to the left side of my X1 Yoga's screen. I have the graphical touch feedback turned on in Windows - the thing that makes circles appear where you touch the screen - and I see these circles at various points along the left side of the screen. Here are some symptoms I've seen:If I move my finger over them, they sometimes go away. One in the bottom left doesn't go away until I shut down and turn the system back on. A restart doesn't always fix it.They sometimes appear without me touching the screen, but seem to appear more frequently when I am using the stylus or touch (I use OneNote for notes). When they appear, touch does not work anywhere else on the screen, but the stylus does. I can use the cursor, but it flashes (dozens of times per second) between the stuck touch point and it's true location on the screen. Clicking will click in the proper place, not the stuck touch point. This issue is becoming unbearable. I'm past the return date on the machine, so my only option is servicing if I can't fix it in software. Is anyone else seeing this behavior? Have you fixed it?

I booted up my Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro today, and it keeps going tablet mode during the Windows startup sequence-(he first time I booted it up after the extended waranty expired at the beginning of the month).  The keyboard lights briefly, but then goes dark and I can only login using the soft keyboard or number pad.  At times the screen will change to portrait mode, even though the unit is clearly landscape oriented, or will invert. If I open up the Lenovo vantage software it clealry showed that the keyboard light was shut off and the touchpad disabled-I could change both settings, but the keyboard still wouldn't work and the touchpad was in landscape and the screen was in portrait, so it was kind of unusable.  I have to rely on touchscreen and soft keyboard.I did a reinstall of Windows, and it worked for about an hour before reverting to tablet mode only.I have changed Settings to eliminate Tablet mode, to no avail.I tried deleting the HID driver for selecting laptop/slate indicator, but it just reinstalled on the next start-up.Hardware sensor issue or software?

I recieved this laptop for Christmas last year as a gift from my mother. Everything was working fine and the laptop was basically everything I had ever asked for (and more). I kept it on, only closed because I didn't like turning it back on. Everything was going well up until today. My laptop started working slowly and nothing was really loading properly. I shut it down by holding down the power button and restarting it that way. It went to a black screen then it had the Lenovo logo on it and then it said Preparing Automatic Repair. I repeated the process a few times before just leaving my laptop off for a while. I just now turned it back on and it went to the repair screen and now its on the Diagnosing your PC screen. If there is any way I can get around the loop without returning the laptop or resetting the whole thing - I have a lot of stuff on there that I can't lose - I would love to know!! Any advice is greatly apprecated!!

Hi everyone Since the last Windows 10 update on 11th Apr 2017, I have had two problems that I assume are related:1. The fan is constantly on, despite normal CPU usage of around 10-15%2. I can no longer turn off conservation mode, so that now I cannot charge the battery above 60%. I tried uninstalling the Lenovo Energy Management software, and installing Lenovo Settings, but the conversation mode toggle in the latter also makes no difference. The sum of both of these problems is that now my battery runs down much faster... Any help most welcome! Chris

I received my yoga 730 15" just yesterday, and after installing a few games like fortnite and overwatch and testing them. They both run horribly even at the lowest graphics, in fortnite i get 20fps with huge stutters, and overwatch somewhat better, still almost unplayable though. Today, i found out that after launching the game and in about a minute or two the CPU clock speed goes down from 3.3 GHz to around 0.8GHz. When the laptop is idle, its speed is +3GHz but when gaming less than 1GHz, shouldn't it be the other way around? I've looked around the internet for a solution all day, but I cannot find anything that helps. Should I just return this and get a replacement or something if no solution is found? Anyways, feel free to suggest any solutions that may help. Thanks!

During use of a variety of applications my mouse pointer will intermittently 'stick' when I'm manuevering it on the screen.  For as long as I keep trying to move it it remains stuck.  If I pause any movement attempt for a few seconds it will again start working.  This happens randomly - but as often as several times a minute.  I don't recall this happening until a couple of weeks ago.   I keep thinking (hoping) a new driver update will fix the issue - but so far nothing has helped. I've got all Windows updates.  And the Lenovo Companion System Update doesn't find anyting needed either. One clue I saw online related to it possibly being a Display Driver issue.  When I went to the Intel site and found a newer Intel UHD Display Driver (ver 24.xxxxx) I thought maybe I had found the problem.  My Display Driver shows ver 23.xxxxxxx.  But after downloading the updated driver and attempting to install - my effort is thwarted by a message that this driver is not intended for my operating system.  I have the very latest Windows 10 update (April, 2018) and I cannot find any further update. Any suggestions?

Hanging on startup with a disk inserted would most likely indicate either a bad SSD or a bad SATA control circuit (motherboard).  If the disk is OK, that leaves only one part.

Dear Lenovo support, after less than one week of use, today I entered the BIOS to modify the "Thunderbolt BIOS Assist Mode", also to disable the "Trackpoint" as both of them are required to use Linux effectively in this laptop [so it seems]. After doing that, the laptop is now stuck on a blank screen, no bleeps or anything. I can shut it down, then the black screen comes, it is not possible to access any meny as the screen just remains black. Keys and leds do work, also pressing F1 after boot makes the laptop bleep. I have tried using the reset pin, the laptop shut down but no change. What's the next step to proceed. Best regards, E. p.s: This is a X1 Yoga 3rd gen i7 8650U + 16GiB. Given the price of this laptop, the large number of issues including in my case, bad sleep support (missing S3), pen stuck inside case requiring a support call, bad behavior of trackpad and fingerprint reader on suspend, etc... it is fairly disheartening. I wonder if MS convinced you to make such a mess in order to sell more Surfaces, I dunno, but the experience was not good and a lot of valuable work time has been lost in what it is a top professional laptop == that's a no go.

My Lenovo Yoga 2 has some very weird issues that is preventing me from using it. Here's a list of the issues I've noticed:- When I hover over the power icon, there is no option to restart, shutdown or sleep. This only occurs randomly.- I no longer have internet connection. A red "x" is on the connection icon. I'm not able to put it into airplane mode either.- Cannot sign in. When I input my password/pin, it'll load and then restarts. But when I do get in, there is a black screen and I get an error and it restarts.- When left on the sign-in screen, it'll restart by itself- The initial loading screen is longer than usual. The last thing I remember doing before this happened was ripping CDs using an external optical drive. I'm not tech savvy so I probably won't know much terminolgy about computers but I'll do some quick research when needed.

I have just installed a new LCD/digitiser panel for my wife's Yoga 510. On restarting it after the repair, the display works fine, but the machine defaults to Tablet Mode in portrait orientation, and the keyboard and trackpad don't work. I'm able to use the touch screen to restore the correct orientation, but cannot recover the keyboard/trackpad. This occurs whether the machine is in laptop, tent or tablet mode. Rebooting to Safe Mode produces normal behaviour (correct screen orientation, keyboard and trackpad work), so this suggests that there's a driver issue somewhere. After digging around the net a bit I found that disabling "HID Sensor Collection V2" in Device Manager and rebooting fixes this issue, however this is not ideal as the keyboard/trackpad remain active when the screen goes past 180 degrees. It's not a huge issue, as the machine isn't used in tent or tablet modes very much, but it would be nice to have a fix for when it is used like this to avoid unecessary inputs from the keyboard. Disabling this driver also prevents the soft keyboard from initialising. It's also an issue if the driver is updated, as it is then re-enabled and everything goes back to "permanent" Tablet Mode. Does anybody know of an updated driver, or a setting in the driver, to overcome this problem?
