I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Depend what is your view for "trusted". If we go like in here today's PARANOID internet world, ransom here ransom there and other thing messed with in...crap what i talking about, most privacy friendly for sure is Emsisoft. In other scenarios...hmm... i still keep my vote, Emsisoft.

I have an interesting problem that has been driving some pretty smart IT guys nuts. To perform my job I have to access a certain venders web pages that has security set up that I do not know all the details of. Anyway on the company PC using the company image that is a normal XP image and maintained by Comp U Com.

Any time I access this vender's web page it works fine until just after the log in screen. Once I put in my user name and password and click Ok IE just goes blank white and that's it. No error msg no nothing, its not locked up as the frame is still there and the world is turning but nothing else.

This happens on all the company PCs accessing this particular vender's web page as I went and checked. So I wanted to see if it the problem was in the PC or the network. I took the company PC home and was able to successfully log into that vender's web page from my cable modem at that house. Worked fine.

I have already added the vender web pages to the trusted zone and enabled all the active X and everything, deleted the cookies, tried some proxies etc. Every setting that can be done on the PC I have tried.

My question is what is the company network security system blocking that IE needs to work and how to resolve?

Thanks

A:IE blank page problem on company network but works fine off company network

Oh and to add this I loaded FireFox and from the company PC on the company network it logs in fine but FireFox will not display the page correctly and all the buttons do not work right so that is another issue.

I would like to get IE working as that is what these pages were written for

Hi,
I?m looking for a Data Recovery company [not a Data Software company] to recover data on my drive that will not spin. Want to spend less than $1000. Please advise.

Thanks,

A:Recommend Data Recovery Company not Data Software Company

Best Data Recovery Company

I have visited many data recovery websites and evaluated their product.

But my experience with one data recovery is almost excellent.

Nucleus Data Recovery, the leading data recovery company having biggest range of professional data recovery software.

Their support is also excellent you drop a email for any help they will respond within 5 minutes.

To recover your data try Kernel Recovery for FAT+NTFS.

The DEMO allows you to preview the recoverable contents and you can check whether the file is recovered correctly or not by double clicking on it.

I want to remove two computers from my trusted-PC list.In security info the only option I get is to remove all trusted-PC.If I use this option will I have to do trusted-PC again for each Computer I want ?

A:Trusted- PC

Hello Fred, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Unfortunately, Microsoft has changed it to only being able to remove all "trusted devices" now instead of being able to remove a specific "trusted PC" as before.

If you remove all trusted devices, you would then have to go through the process of having the other PCs added as trusted again.

I also just noticed AVG got a threat detection when nothing was running, I walked back into the room with my computer and seen AVG had found a virus before I could see even where it was or what it was AVG had closed off the screen. I ran another virus scan with AVG and also ran Malawarebytes just to be on the safe side and nothing came back. Websites like downoad3k.com, download.com, softpedia.com and others offer hundreds of downloads claiming that the products they are servicing have been tested for viruses, spywares, adwares, backdoors etc. But at the same time, some of them make the "report spyware" option available for users. So are their products to be trusted or not? Has anyone here downloaded a software from these websites and which turned out later to be infected by a spyware or worse?

A:Trusted Websites, Are They Really?

Hi mesmerized.

When downloading anything off the Net, it is up to you to ensure that your personal computer protection is adequate and uptodate.

There are literally hundreds of download sites out there and some are decidedly dodgy. A good first indication is by using SITE ADVISOR or WOT. Reputable sites such as Download.Com, Softpedia, Tucows, MajorGeeks, can generally be trusted to have done their best to ensure that the stuff they host is as safe as can be.

Trusted Installer is the internal "user" account that is active when installing/uninstalling programs. Don't stress about it. It is active ONLY when installing or uninstalling programs.

If you remove it or otherwise disable it, you will no longer be able to install any programs.

Hello -
Please read thse details on AdwCleaner -

First your Clean report - (AdwCleaner[S0].txt)
• A copy of that logfile will also be saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder.

• Items that are deleted are then moved to the Quarantine Folder: "C:\AdwCleaner\Quarantine"
• To restore any item that has been deleted (if necessary):
• Go to Tools > Quarantine Manager > check what you want restored > now click on Restore.

AdwCleaner is not a "killer" but a Quarantine Tool ....
If you do not open the program a second time and hit "Uninstall" all items Quarantined still remain -

These can be restored later if you wish.

Oy, hey there,
Not sure if this belongs under Networking or IIS, it's a bit of both...

I'm mainly wondering how users from a trusted domain are viewed on another, especially in relation to IIS with Integrated Windows Authentication.

Here's the deal, I've got webserver on DomainA.
I've got a user on DomainB.
DomainA trusts DomainB.
DomainB\user wants to use IWA controlled app on DomainA\Webserver.

When DomainB\user accesses a resource on DomainA, is he still viewed as DomainB\user, or is DomainA(anything) associated with that user?

Because for the custom application, which happens to be on the webserver, I need to allow access for each user. So would I simply put DomainB\user? Even though the webserver is on DomainA?

Now to part 2...

Also, I want to use IWA on the webserver on DomainA; will it be able to work with a user account from DomainB?

To put it horribly graphically, I'm trying to do this:
(DomainB: DomainB\user)---using IWA--->(DomainA: Webserver)

Networkingly speaking, is that just impossible?
As far as a user coming in from a trusted domain...does that fall to pieces concerning IWA, causing them to enter a DomainA username\password?

Thanks for convolutedly reading this.

Very annoying problem.

Trusted Sites contains: https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov

When ever I go to the following site I get a Security Alert that states that the certificate was issued by a company that I have not chosen to trust...would I like to proceed, or install the certificate. Normally, I just click "YES" to proceed and I get my data. Sometimes I'll re-install the certificate as if it will do any good for next time...but it doesn't.

Here's the URL:

https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov/geo/fl...Z&icao_id=RDU&icao_id=RWI&radius=10&options=A

Any ideas of what I can do so that this site is always trusted and I no longer get the Security Alert?

Thanks so much,

What is the domain of the site? The "*" just means any prefix for a URL on that site would be trusted. I don't like adding entries there as it basically gives them permission to bypass security measures on your computer. This is sometimes done for troubleshooting purposes but I wouldn't leave it that way.

How does an application go from not verified to not trusted. I have a program called setupwizard.exe. It is part of BeyondTV. Recently I installed a quad TV tuner card and ran this program to setup the tuners. The system is a windows 10 clean install. Today I noticed that the other tuner card was not found in device manager. After several attempts I switched the tuner card between PC's. After rebooting both systems the tuner card in each PC was found. I then tried to run the setup program and got the "This app has been blocked for your protection." So this application worked with in the last three weeks. Now it won't run. I then tried to run the setupwizard on the other PC and got the same message. I have a third system running windows 10. This system has been offline for that last couple of weeks. I booted this system up and was able to run the setupwizard with no problem. I then copied the setup wizard from the system that worked and tried to run it on the failing system. It still got blocked. I then tried to reinstall the BeyondTV program and the installer also got the blocked message. I just installed this program two weeks ago.
So the question is what changed. The only thing I can think of is a windows update. in the last two weeks.
When I ran the program on the system that was offline a pop up message asking for permission to run a not verified application. But no the pop up says not trusted.

Thanks

Is it technologically possible and is it practical for a normally clean website, such as this, to tell me as I login that

2. that the ads included for not-logged-in people run on this server and not someplace else, and do not have keyloggers, trojans, viruses, and other crapware in them

Hi folks,
I think I have a BIG problem, but I'm too noobish to know for sure.
Summary:
1. I have 100s to 100s of thousands of files & folders with a unique footprint.
2. Each looks innocent ... at first.
3. Right-click > Properties > Security starts the intrigue
4. System, Adminstrators, and Users have Read & Execute permission; my account does not show up; while TrustedInstaller has Full control. I know -- TI comes from Microsoft (as do some rootkits).
5. Click Advanced > Owner & find that the owner is Administrators, but now I am there as a potential Owner.
6. Click Auditing > Continue to find that a new player (hidden until now) "Everyone" has "Special" access.
7. Double-click Special to learn that Special includes Take ownership & Change permissions (for both Successful & Failed)!
That sounds like an invitation to hackers. Particularly when 1 such file is efsui.exe -- with Encription connections that ransomware loves.
Meanwhile, there are several other unusual footprints that TrustedInstaller produces.
I've spent a full week on this and gained nothing but an acute case of paranoia.

Many of the installers out there are junk/nasty installers, it is impossible to differentiate.  What helps a little is to look at the items found in a search and go to the actual vendors site, this is not fool proof!  You must be very diligent watching for obscure boxes or choices within the applets, many are confusing.  You will run into some where you must hit the decline button to get no added junk, I even being very careful still pick up things.

I was infected with spyware a few days ago so I ran Spybot, Ad-aware and CWShredder like I usually do and everything seems to be ok. The only problem is that whenever I go to a site on Internet Explorer, this little green check mark symbol appears in the bottom right-hand corner and it says "Trusted sites." I'm not sure what this means or if I have any spyware still on my computer. Here is my HijackThis log. Thank you for any help you can give me.

I believe in keeping your computer secure from the internet. I do all the basic safety precautions like Use Firefox, Spybot, Adaware, AVG Free AV, etc etc (updating definitions regularly) but one thing I don't believe in are online scanners (that scan for viruses, trojans, etc). The reason might be silly, but I hate downloading things I don't need to. Are they an effective compliment to what I already have? Should I let go of my fear of using these online Scanners..which one's are the best? Thanks so much.....

A:Online Scanners To Be Trusted

There are many reputable on-line scanners listed in this pinned BC topic:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic3616.htmlThere are several reasons for using them.1. No AV is absolutely guaranteed to detect every known instance of malware, even though many use heuristic algorithms in addition to definitions. On-line scans can increase the possibility of detection, but without the downloading and then updating a second (or third) AV application.2. Some malware specifically targets resident Anti-viruses, generally with the express purpose of making them inoperable. On-line scans thus avoid this and can detect that malware.Unless your computer shows signs of infection that your own protective applications cannot resolve, an occasional scan on-line is certainly a smart idea.Regards,John

hi all

i seem to have picked up a virus or some adware or something. started out that i could not get into task manager though now i can. it also changes my home page and has a yellow bar on the top of internet explorer by something called trusted antivirus or something. also i get false popups saying i have an infection. also every 20 seconds or so, windows jumps to another open window which makes it bloody hard to type or do anything as i have to be careful when i press enter, it doesnt have another screen saying i need to download something.

i have run my norton antivirus 2008, which never picked anything up - although it has been blocking something quite often. i have also run adaware a few times now, it picked up a heap of stuff on its 1st run, but since then doesnt pick much up. have also run it in safe mode a couple of times, but the adware is still there.. also there was a search tool bar in IE that i disabled called "etlrlws"

here is the log file for hijackthis, i hope someone can help fast:

I have the *.63.219.181.7 trusted zone problem. I can't get rid of it. Plus, I seem to have another problem that may or may not be related with this but everytime I restart my computer and click on say My Computer, norton picks up the same trojan msacmx.dll in my System32 folder everytime and quarentines it.
Already ran spybot s&d, and adaware se seems to hang when it tries to deep scan my registry(It used to work). Here's my hijackthis log.

You follow all the best security practices and heed all the warnings. You only visit web sites that are reputable or recommended by someone you trust. You never open unexpected attachments in email. You have a good anti-virus and anti-malware program installed. But somehow, you ended up with malware anyway. What happened?http://www.wxpnews.com/archives/wxpnews-426-20100420.htmThis is a couple of months old, but it's still valid and useful information. A:Why Did You Get Malware from that (Trusted) Website?

Thanks Bama Belle. That information will never get to old. With today's economy I would bet a dollar to a donuts hole that many companies are cutting back on the people and money they spend on taking care of the security for there web site.

I use CounterSpy to deal with my spyware problems but after their newest version
came out(V2) it boggs down my computer and some of my programs won't run unless I shut down the active protection first. I also had to shut down the active protection so I good get updates to my antivirus program.
Their support told me that it was my computer but I found out alot of people are having the same problem as well.
Is their any good, trusted sites to get reviews of spyware programs????
I did a search in Google but I don't whether or not to trust the sites.
I heard that sites can be faked to look like a legimate site so that you would buy
the program they recommend.
Any help would greatly be appreciated!!!!
THANKS!!!!
