Adobe Dilemma

Q: Adobe Dilemma

So I'm having a bit of an Adobe Dilemma and looking for any advice or help related to the issue.

You see, years ago I purchased Adobe Acrobat on disc from my college. This was before all the licensing fees from Adobe started. I never had an issue using their software as the license had been purchased upon purchasing the disc. Again, this was at the time.

The problem arose when I purchased a new computer. While trying to transfer my program to my new computer it is telling me that I have to once again purchase the licensing for it. This would be via the once a year payment or the monthly payment for it. Is there anyway around this? Since the license I purchased was before all of this does anyone know of a grandfather clause that would allow me to continue using the software license I had already purchased or I am cornered into paying them regardless of when my actual purchase was made?

Thanks for any help ahead of time.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I will tell you now, I'm tv/vcr/dvd handicapped. I can fix and build any computer but when it comes to connecting the above hardware to my capture card, I'm totally lost.

My setup: I have a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 150 capture card. I also have a combo vcr/dvd standalone player (to capture vhs to computer), I also am on Satellite, with a modern tv, one that has the connections I need to do this, but though I've searched and searched, I can find no photos, instructions or anything else related to how to hook this all up so it will still function as a tv/vcr/dvd player, and use it capture my vhs home movies. One person said I needed a splitter. So, I bought a four way splitter, and the back of the package says to not connect the splitter from the satellite box, but after the coaxial is connected to that. Please help this lost person. I've had this setup for two weeks and still don't have the components I have connected to my capture card.

A tip on buying a laptop,Buy what you want now and what you might want for hardware later.Becayuse a laptop is not easily upgraded and has strict guidlines as to what you can and can't do. So if your looking to buy a laptop for gaming or video editing or just making letters and such for trips.make sure you buy a laptop that can do that now and suit your needs for the next couple years.

This is my dilemma:

A computer at work is running IE7, XP Pro, SP3. Recently Last week, IE began loading with no toolbar (file, edit, view, history, bookmarks, tools or help), therefore 'right-clicking' on the toolbar and selecting 'tools' is not an option.

Also, I cannot 'right-click' to access any functions associated with that, nor can I use any DOS commands such as Ctrl+C or Ctrl+V to copy or paste. And all drop down boxes are gone. Clicking on hyper links will not load any page in another window.

I have tried writing registry values as found in various forums, deleting other values, changing the binary code to 1 in D-Word entries to make sure that the toolbar menu is active...tried Alt, Alt+Spacebar, Alt+T, or any other combination of keys, and none of them work. PLEASE do not suggest F11 either, as we all know this just hides the address bar and then restores it.

I have tried booting into safe mode, and ran scans as well, and no infections were found.

Sadly, the workstation is equipped with an enterprise version of Nortons, which found nothing either. I have also ran both Malwarebytes and Spyware Doctor to no avail.

I tried utilizing Kelly's Korner toolbar fix exe. and this did not work.

Right-clicking ANYWHERE on the top bar, only gives me the pop-up box which has 'restore', 'maximize', 'minimize', or 'close' as options to choose from.

The 'tools' button is NOT hidden, nor is it at the bottom of the screen in the lower right corner. I cannot drag any of the t... Read more

I have a customer of mine who is an aged farmer who lives out in the sticks.
The problem I'm having is that he lives in an area that has no broadband and no mobile internet access.
He recently purchased a new PC from me as he has to log his livestocks passports for travel purposes to and from the market. This has now moved to an on-line process hence the reason for him purchasing a PC.
So he has no choice but to use dial-up (which also disables his use of the only phone line he has)
The thing is windows updates are causing his internet connection to time out as the files are so large and this also causes his mail to seize up.
He uses MSE for security, and MS office for a simple excel spread sheet that needs to be updated and emailed. And he has to log on once a day to the internet to check a few things on his livestock sales etc.
Is there any way to disable windows updates for office and windows but allow MSE to update automatically or does he have to update MSE manually each day ? (remember the poor bugger struggles to turn the PC on and for the first month I was there daily to fill in the 10 or so lines into the spread sheet and mail them, but he seems to have got the hang of it now)
I don't mind bringing his PC to my office to do monthly windows/office updates, but I would prefer for his anti-virus to be daily updated automatically as 3 other Farmers in the same area have been infected recently via email so I just wanted to keep the costs down of me going out to ... Read more

A:Bit of a dilemma with MSE

G'day Nick,

I wonder if this might work?

Turn OFF ALL updates, but setup MSE as shown in the image below - setup a schedule scan each morning, and also check the option to run an update of the spyware definitions.

My understanding is that MSE will still update its defintions, as it runs separately from Windows Update.

Hi guys just wondering if there's someone out there who can actually clear up this problem once and for all !

I bought a Coolermaster 460W extreme power plus PSU from ebuyer. They have sent me the PSU and a EU type cable to plug into my UK wall !

On the PSU it has no switches to select voltage, but it does have a sticker on saying "AC INPUT 230V ONLY"

Am I right, therefore, in presuming that if I took a UK cable and used that with the PSU it would not blow up my house and/or my newly built rig ?!

Help appreciated !

A:EU / UK PSU dilemma

I assume and remember knowing that UK wall sockets give 230 V AC power? Therefore yes, it will work with a UK cable and will not break anything. Or then get an adapter instead of a new cable.

How did you setup the two machines IP addresses? If you let Windows do it, try this.

Setup the machine as follows:

PC1:
IP Address: 192.168.0.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

PC2:
IP Address: 192.168.0.3
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Leave the other settings blank. See if that allows you to connect.

Guys, just days ago I purchased all the components needed to make a gaming rig.Well, most of the components[except my PSU] have been delivered. As I was talking to the guy who is going to assemble my CPU,he gave me a suggestion to use my old HDD with the new one,as it would give me and my family more space to put in new stuff in the new HDD.Well,I liked the idea and told him we would go through with it,but then, many questions popped in my mind as soon as I had finished my conversation with him.Well, first let me give you the specs:-
1)OLD HDD:-Western Digital Caviar Green-WD10EZRX-00D8PB0[ASIN number,I guess] and here is the link http://www.amazon.in/WD-Caviar-Desktop-Internal-WD10EZRX/dp/B00769WETS. Reason,I provided you guys the ASIN number is because when I saw the price of this HDD now,it is 12K bucks....I don't believe I paid that much amount in 2011-12,so check the ASIN number that i got in my devices list in the control panel.
NEW HDD:-Toshiba 1 TB 7200 RPM HDD.Link:-http://www.amazon.in/Toshiba-Internal-Hard-Drive-DT01ACA100/dp/B00A0KXK7U?_encoding=UTF8&keywords=1tb%20hdd%20toshiba&linkCode=sl1&linkId=b476891eb75940ea155299da093c4c89&qid=1481107684&ref_=as_li_ss_tl&ref_=sr_1_3&sr=8-3&tag=curse0d-21.
Now,here are my queries:-
1)I am intending to install win 10 pro 64 bit version[in my new HDD],will it somehow clash with the win7 OS in my harddisk.
2)I just do not have applications installed in the C drive, but also in other drives.Eve... Read more

A:Dilemma of using old HDD in new rig..

3)As the drive is like 3-4 years old[already reached its expectancy],would it be wise to have all the data stored in it?Click to expand...

Any data you want to keep, you make backups. If this is the ONLY copy of said data, you should expect to lose it at some point. ALL drives fail; it is only a question of when the drive failes.
4)As the old HDD is of Western Digital caviar series and the new one is of Toshiba, will they clash with each other?Click to expand...

No.
Here is what I would do;
1 First and foremost, make at least two copies of whatever data you want to keep. Do this on separate media; ie two external drives, two flash drives, NAS, whatever.
2 Build the system and install just your new drive. Do the windows install, updates, drivers, etc, etc.
3 Once completely finished with the windows install, shutdown and install the old drive. Windows will assign the next available drive letter to your old drive ie E, F, whatever.
4 As for access to your old disk, you can edit permissions to make it unavailable to some users.

Your link to your drive on amazon does not work.

Dom

A:RAM Dilemma

The first one with better timings - for only 3 squid extra, it's an easy choice

Basically they are exactly the same RAM modules, except the CL7's are 'better binned' (higher individual quality) than their CL9 counterparts. Modules that can't tolerate tighter timings / voltages are sold as the 'slower' sets.

Split from http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/393442/windows-xp-freezes-at-mupsys-in-safe-modeno-administrator-passowrd/ - Hamluis.

Hello Everybody
An old XP PC we were using as a Minecraft server was having a printer driver installed when Windows unexpectedly rebooted. Since then it has been stuck in a boot loop. We get as far as the Windows startup screen then it reboots. In safe mode it hangs at the Mup.sys stage.
We have a Windows XP disc which we always used to use to get back to factory settings and I'm pretty sure we used it on this one when we acquired it but it tries ( I think!) to boot from CD but ends up booting from HD. It would not boot into Puppy Linux from CD so I did a Puppy boot from memory stick.
This worked up to editting the registry as described above but Windows is still stuck in the reboot loop.
I should say that I did ntfxfix on Windows partition 1 in Puppy as advised here: http://www.winhelp.us/recover-files-using-puppy-linux-page-2.html. On first reboot it did do chkdsk before the rebooting loop started again.
What else could I try?
thanks
Les

Recently, my PC got infected with some sort of malware and now I can't run any programs on it. This is not helped by the fact that there is a hidden administrator account with a password I can't crack (2nd hand computer).

So now I am trying to reinstall windows xp sp3 on it. However, the installation CD that comes with it won't boot. I've changed boot order in BIOS and I press F8 to boot but then a black screen comes up with <C:\>.
I've tried locating the setup.exe on the CD but it says 'invalid command'.

So is there a way for me to create a bootable windows XP CD for that computer w/o needing to run any programs on it? I can run cmd though.

Hi, everybody. Please excuse my lack of knowledge on the subject I am asking about. As far as I know, you are not able to set up WPA encryption on your laptop in a wifi hotspot(unless of course the owner tells you the router's MAC address and passphrase). However, I was wondering what exactly the WPA does. I read that it supposedly encrypts all the so-called "data" that you send out(specifically for web browsing, downloading, etc.), and makes anyone trying to connect to your computer(and therefore your network) need to input the correct passphrase. If this is the case, isn't there some sort of software that could also encrypt your outbound data in the same way on a hotspot, but without actually setting up an encrypted network between your computer and a router(or access point)? I am guessing that if there is, then it would probably only encrypt outbound "data", and not protect you from people trying to access your computer. I have read about VPNs, TOR, etc., but as far as I can understand, these only try to mask your IP/identity. They also say that they "tunnel data," but doesn't all web traffic have to make "hops" anyway? So how would they "tunnel data," unless that company had a physical line running straight from your computer to their server? I welcome any number of responses on this subject, and I would appreciate any help anyone can offer. Thank you very much!

I've just formatted the hard disc on my old Dell Latitude D600 and re-installed Windows XP. All went well until I tried to set up an internest account and discovered my Network administrator driver had gone. I went to device manager, found that a number of other drivers had also disappeared, so went to Dell Support (on another PC) and downloaded all the drivers indicated for my service tag.

I went back to the Latitude and tried to install the drivers through the device manager, but got the good old "Windows can't open this file" message. I've tried to install via DVD and also by copying the driver files to the Lat's C Drive via USB, all to no avail.

The files are called "click once application" files and, if I click on the original downloaded file (on the second PC) they open. I'm flummoxed--why would the files act differently and what do I need to do to install them in the Lat?

Thanks in advance

A:Driver Dilemma

i am a bit confused at what you are doing. so are you just copying the driver files from one computer and trying to put them on another or are you using acutal driver install disks?

if you are just copying them then it is most likely not working because you do not have all of the driver (due to the keys being made in the registry). your best bet is to download each on from the internet if you can. if they are dell drivers you should be able to get them from the dell website or failing that there other manifactures that made the parts you need drivers for. this way you will know you have up to date drivers that are not corrupted and should be openable by your computer

hope that helps

Hi all,

I've been using Windows 7 since the release of the beta (now using RC) on my old Pentium 4 desktop - it runs a treat!

Then, a couple of weeks ago, I made use of a great offer from Dell (no doubt discounting PCs pre-Win 7 launch) and bought a laptop. The laptop is pre-installed with Vista 64 and so I've ordered the Windows 7 upgrade.

Ok, so the dilemma is, the licence on the RC version expires in May (I think) so what do I do at that point? Am I right in saying the Win 7 upgrade won't work on my desktop as it's 64-bit? Is there any way around this? Or do I have to bite the bullet and buy a 32-bit edition of Win 7 for my desktop?

Please advise,

I had a problem with Hotmail last night. I am on wanadoo broadband on a Packcard Bell computer. I was typing a lengthy and very important email last night. When I finished I ticked the box at the bottom so that it would be sent to my "send" folder. I then went up to the top of the page and clicked "send" but before I got a confirmation of my letter having been sent, I got the Packard Bell cannot find server page. Has my email been lost? When I pressed back in my hotmail account the email I had spent hours over had gone! It hasn't been sent to "sent messages" and it is not in the "trash can" either. It's just disappeared. I even checked the "history" pages to see if I could retrieve it from there. It's probably a lesson learnt the hard way - always save to drafts before sending!

But my real problem is that it was such an important and personal email that I want to know if the person I was writing to received it even though the confirmation message didn't come through to say that it had been sent and it's not in my "sent" messages folder.

It's not a problem rewriting it and sending a new one but I don't want to look foolish by sending a paraphrased version of the one that seems not to have worked, otherwise my email will not mean as much. Please help me solve this - do you thi... Read more

People,

How in the heck does one find the doggone servers available for various Newsgroups in Outlook Express, so that they can be added into the News (NNTP) server window in the internet connection wizard...to then check out the newsgroups available (on that server)?

Or...am I going about this the wrong way? I am assuming I use the *Internet Accounts* dialog, as opposed to the *Newsgroup Subscriptions* dialog...'cause I've never been able to figure out how to search for newsgroup servers in the latter.

There are quite a few useful newsgroups from Usenet, for example...which I'd like to post to conveniently from my e-mail utility (Outlook Express)...(as opposed to Google, on the web.

Need some help on this...

Thanks,

A:OE (6) Newsgroup Dilemma

Hi mark4man

Your ISP most likely has some newsgroups servers you can access.
Also try a search on Google for Newsgroups.

Microsoft has some servers for Microsoft products:
news.microsoft.com
or
msnews.microsoft.com

Some newsgroups require subscriptions or a logon (like your ISP's servers will) or some, like Microsoft's do not.

I'll be putting together a new rig sometime later this year (probably around Christmas time) and by then Southern Islands will be on the market, so I want to upgrade my aging 4870 for, get this, two 4870 X2's for the price of one 6950 (1GB). It sounds a bit backwards I'm aware as I can't think of a way to explain it...at least not the way it's making sense to me. In any case anyone know of any places other than online auctions where I could find X2's (preferably two, but one will suffice) for around or cheaper than I've found them?

Oh, the price of the auction I'm mulling over is $225. The single X2's are around $150-180. For the single cards it makes more sense as I can't think of a single card that's faster for the price.

That said if you get the 4870X2's they may or not work well with your games... resale value will be low and worse when the 7XXX's come out. Depending on your game(ie GTA4) you will not see much improvement due to CPU/hard drive bottleneck..... maybe instead a single 4870/4890/4870X2 with your existing 4870? At least till something new catches your eye

Have you considered the 5XXX series? Prices should fall soon....

Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 successfully blocked a malicious URL.
My concern is that within seconds IE9 crashed. Within 2 minutes I attempted a scan with Kaspersky and the scan was almost frozen. Scan was very, very slow. I aborted the scan.

A subsequent scan about 10 minutes later with Kasperksy and Malwarebytes was negative.

Any further steps to take to insure my system was not infected ? Seems to be normal since incident. I just felt the IE9 crash and slow scan were significant. Thanks !

I use an 800mhz iMac with OS 10.3

My Dazzle Hollywood Bridge is connected to an Allegro DVD/VHS player that reads every format. When I first got the Allegro, the Bridge worked fine on both the DVD side and the VHS side and I could view and clip anything on iMovie. I haven't changed any settings (other than OS upgrades, including Panther), or wiring and now both the DVD and VHS has extreme static with large dark patches and the audio is nothing but screeching. I can barely make out the images. I've checked and double checked the wiring, rebooted several times, tried an S-Video cable and it's the same thing.

I've plugged a TV into the DVD/VHS player and it worked fine. Replaced the Firewire cable, and replaced the Audio/Video cable from the player to the Bridge with brand new wires.

Has anyone using the Hollywood Bridge had similiar problems? Does it sound like something fried inside the Bridge?

Hi all, I'm having a devil of a job getting streaming video to work at a decent level on my pc.
I have Virgin cable at over 30mbps which I have tested and is fine.
My graphics card is an ATI radeon HD2400 512 mb which plays video from the hard drive perfectly.
I have disabled hardware acceleration as suggested in forums and downloaded every codec I can.
Please help as I have signed up for Love Film and I love films.

I am getting a new PC. The 64 bit OEM version of Home Premium is only $10 more, and I will have the hardware to run it.
However, there are many that warn against the 64 bit version, and the last thing I would want is to find out that some hardware does not work, or that there are problems with our home network. I am also worried about not being able to run 16 bit programs and bits and pieces without proper signatures. Apparently the 64 bit version rejects these.

The best alternative would be to buy the 64 bit version, but install and run it as 32 bit untill such time when I progressively replace hardware, the other PC's etc.

Is this possible? I have heard that it can be run as 32 bits, but is this across the system, or is it on application by application basis.

A:Vista dilemma

Hi Josef,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

16 bit programs are not supported at all in Vista. You can run 32 bit and 64 bit programs at the same time in the 64 bit version of Vista, but you must have 64 bit driver versions for all of your devices. 32 bit drivers will not work in the 64 bit Vista.

For more information on the 64 bit Vista, you might give this a read. It's pretty interesting.

64-bit: More than just the RAM

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi,

Anyone know a good app for making playlists to put on an mp3 player? I have tried Windoze Media and Itunes and neither will put a playlist on my player. Winamp will do it but for some odd reason, sometimes my player won't acknowledge it. The triforce is with you!

I am in a strange situation with my Vista. I bought my HP computer with Vista Home Premium installed. We installed Vista Ultimate onto the laptop. Now my notebook is malfunctioning- would not turn on at time- and I will be sending it to HP for repairs. There is a high chance they will format my hard drive and install home premium on it.

I have made a complete backup of my computer on DVDs using the vista complete backup utility- and I hoped to use that to reinstall my old operating system etc once they send it back. As far as I found out recently, home premium does not have that recovery feature.

So what are my options? Will I be able to install the pc image from the dvds using home premium? I also had Office installed on it- and I can't afford to buy ultimate and office.

With the upcoming release of Windows 10 and the fact that Microsoft are allowing free upgrades from 7 through 8.1, I'll be in a dilemma as to whether or not to upgrade as Vista still has a couple of years of extended support left.
I realize I multi-boot so already have 2 chances at it so could theoretically have all 3 boots as 10's - which I would continue to utilize as I am now, for testing different versions of security software.
I'm not a huge fan of 8/8.1 I'm afraid, despite heavy modifications to make it behave and look (mostly) like 7.
What would you do?

A:Dilemma - Upgrade To 7 Or Not?

Free update for windows 7 users? I'll keep that in mind although I haven't yet tried 10. I'm afraid that I won't be of much help since I don't run windows as my base OS. I do have Vista & 7 virtual machines but I prefer/use Vista more. As for a triple boot with 7 I'd say go for it. I once had 6 versions of windows installed on 2 hard drives so it can be done. Like you I can't stand 8. I'd have to buy it and not even a free upgrade to 10 would encourage me to get it.

A few weeks ago my son & I asked for assistance with removing the free McAfee that came with his new Vista laptop.

http://forums.techguy.org/general-security/678529-solved-easy-removal.html

The assistance received was right on the money, right down to the "successful removal" after completion of the extra step needed.

The free version of AVG had been previously downloaded and was installed. It was updated and a scan was run that came up clean.

Today, upon starting the computer a message came up that stated that MFC71.DLL failed to start and that AVG was not running. Windows suggested that the problem might be solved by reinstalling the program.

My son downloaded a fresh copy of AVG, to the desktop, and uninstalled the one had on the computer.

When he tried to install the new AVG he got a message that another anti-virus was already running and that he needed to un-install it, first. That's when he called me.

Not being the smartest guy on the block, I told him that, maybe, the MFC71.DLL was involved with McAfee, not AVG. Sure enough, he looked in the security section of his computer and under "Malware" it stated that McAfee Virus scan and Windows Defender were both running. After shutting off Defender that section still said it was running.

We're a bit far apart. He's in Seattle and I'm in St. Pete, FL area. I'm stumped, but that doesn't take too much.

Where do we start? I appreciate any help you can send.

I extracted the first .rar which was a *.bin file. Once extracted it made two files, a "AVG.update" file and a *.cue file. I have no idea how to play the video, and I think that I have to burn it to a cd to play it. Am i right with this assumption? Thanks

Hi,
I've been trying to learn to upgrade a laptop, so I got my fathers old laptop. He says if I can fix it, he'd like to use it to get online. Anyway, the thing is my brother in law called himself fixing it and messed it up. somehow, it won't boot from any drive except for C drive. I doesn't acknowledge the floppy drive, and the CDrom, it acknowledges, but won't boot from it. I've been trying to get to the BIOS screen but when it comes on, it goes straight to windoze, even when I push pause. Oh it'll stop, but it will just stop until I let it go on to windoze. The laptop is an old Toshiba Satellite 205cd with 100mhz on it and 24mb of memory. I figured I could bump up the ram some and change out the drive but... I think the guy did something to the BIOS or.... well, if anyone can help, I'm all ears. Thanx! The triforce is with you.

I have recently installed a Linux Samba file server on my home network. All is well with it. The issue I'm having is my one Win 10 machine is seeing itself, the other Win 10 machine, the router and the Linux. This machine (the other Win 10) only sees itself and the other Win 10 machine. All "obvious" settings seem to be correct.

Any ideas?

Thx so much in advance.

Hi,

I originally used the sysprep method (from eightforums) to move my user profile to a different drive (E: drive) in win 8.1. My dilemma is do I move my user profile back to the C: drive (win drive) before upgrading to win 10 ? or just upgrade as it would seem this is possible if I have understood correctly.
Can any one tell me the pros and cons of both methods to help me to decide what to do please?
Thanks.

A:Win 10 upgrade dilemma

I can't think of any benefits in relocating it back unless you wanted to do it anyway irrespective of the upgrade. If you want your user folders to remain on the E drive, to move them back, upgrade, then relocate them back again is a lot of effort for no gain (and there is always the risk of making a typo and having to repeat steps).

If you look at this thread Users Folder - Move Location in Windows 10 - Page 8 - Windows 10 Forums there are plenty of people that upgraded without relocating back first. (There are a lot of comments to trawl through but no-one had a problem, including me).

Similarly once on 10 you don't need to relocate back before doing an in-place upgrade or upgrading the release build.

You would have to relocate ProgramData directory back if you had moved it though - but that was only possible on Windows 7 and earlier anyway as far as I remember.

Hi,

I bought a Samsung series 5 notebook about 8 months ago, the other day the HDD failed and wont spin/not recognized at all.
I have the option of sending it in for warranty, but there is a lot of personal and sensitive information on the drive and I don't really want to send it in.
I have also just purchased a SSD as a replacement, and when searching on google, found that the product key for my OEM of windows 8 is stored in the BIOS.
I am just wondering where I can get an .iso of windows 8 x64 so I can use it to re-install my windows 8 OS on the new SSD?

As I said, I dont want to send my old HDD in.

Can anyone give me some recommendations please as I am in a bit of a state trying to work out how to get my 8 month old laptop running again

Thanks

A:major dilemma help please :\

They now store the Windows product key in the Bios so that if you are reinstalling the same version of Windows on a new HDD you don't need to type in the product key.
As for your old drive, if it doesn't spin, you cannot get it accessed by the computer and you cannot run any software tools to recover the data. Your only other option is to send it off to the very, very expensive Data Recovery Specialist. But it ain't cheap.

Hi,

Having thought hard buying a new PC to upgrade my existing one I have come to two choices. Each one has exactly the same spec apart from the processors. One is an Athlon 2200+ and the other is Pentium 4 2.2Ghz. Both have 512mb of DDR memory.

The thing is is that I've heard the athlon 2200+ performs much better than the pentium 2.2 even though it runs roughly at 1.8Ghz. I even seen the 2.2 Pentium being compared with the Athlon 2000+ which makes me think that the 2200+ is far better than 2.2.

Help I'm a bit confused about all this!!!!!

I was hoping if anyone could help me decide which is the better one and to tell me if I'm talkin rubbish or not!

Thanks

I have a Lian-Li case that I've had for a number of years. It's given great service, but as far as looks it's just kinda... boring. I keep thinking about buying a new case, the CoolerMaster Cavalier catches my eye...

Here's the rub. I have a very cool side panel I purchased from CrazyPC, it's their FireDragon lazer, on a silver aluminum panel.

My question is: Does anyone know what other brands I might be able to use my Lian-Li panel on? Ones that are built as well as this PC-6something, and also has a removeable motherboard tray? D'ya think it would look pretty silly if I got a black case, and put this silver panel on it? Yea, probably.

...kinda sounds like I'm going to end up with another Lian-Li (or just keep this one), huh?
