Wireless Internet stopped working on my laptop

Q: Wireless Internet stopped working on my laptop

I did nothing to make it stop working. I was on the internet, stepped away, came back, and couldn't connect. I checked the online connection (by clicking the little icon in the bottom right part of the screen) and it came up with an error. I went to Device Manager, and there is a "!" next to LAN-Express IEEE 802.11 PCI Adapter. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, but the "!" is still there.

Did the actual hardware break somehow? Is there anything I should do before bringing it back to where I bought it? I've only had it for a few months, and never before had a problem

{WinXP, AcerTravelMate, Internet works when connected through ethernet cord.}

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I have a HP laptop that runs windows Vista Premium, and is connected to an old Netgear wireless router, with which a broadband modem is connected to.

I have had this setup for nearly two years, and has been running great, including this morning. However tonight I cannot get the laptop to connect to the internet. I have had a couple of weird issues before, but restarting the computer has always fixed it. This time I have restarted everything, and I can access other computers on the network (not wireless) but not the internet.

Strangely, a hard drive that is connected to another computer that is shared for my backups is also not being found. (the other computer is plugged into the router through an ethernet cable, and internet works fine).

MSN, Explorer and the like will not connect to the net. Interestingly, when I start Mozilla Firefox, which loads a simplified google homepage, after a long long time, loads about hald way.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be, I dont know what to do or try, because I havent seemed to change anything to stop it working. Any ideas I could try would be much appreciated.

I was using the internet on my laptop and the conection went off for a few seconds. After that, I couldn't access the router anymore, not even by cable. So I tried, te basic turn it on and off and I could access it by cable, but the wireless is still not working on my laptop. I checked if the wireless board was properly configured and everything seems alright.
I think the problem is on the laptop because the wireless works on my phone and tablet!

Is there anything else I can check?

Go to the Device Manager and uninstall the driver for the network adapter. Restart the laptop and Windows should reinstall the driver automatically. See if this clears up the problem. If not, it might have failed. You could try going to Add and Remove Programs (if XP) or Programs and Features (if Vista or W7) and uninstall the LAN driver if one is there and install a fresh driver from Sony.

If none of that works, consider getting a USB wireless adapter.

I am using Windows Vista home premium edition. My computer is an LGR50.

My wireless internet has suddenly stopped working. It used to be able to connect to any wireless network with no problems, but for the last month it has not been able to detect any networks. When ever I say "identify the problem" it says there is nothing wrong with my computer and it must be the router. I ran a virus scan and everything was fine, ran a defrag, everything was fine. I know the wireless "button" is on. I used my device manager to look at my network adapters and there are "warning signs" saying that my mass storage controller is "defective" and also pretty much all of my network adapters (except my bluetooth). I downloaded the newest WiFi link 4965AGN and it's still not working. I can't seem to figure out what is wrong with it!

Any help appreciated

Have you tried connecting using a wired connection?

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type devmgmt.msc

Please respond to all the following steps.
Under Network adapters, please tell me all the devices listed.
Are there any devices under Network adapters that have a red x displayed?
Also, are there any devices anywhere in the Device Manager display with yellow ? or ! displayed?

I'd like to see this as well.
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD then press Enter to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

My AVG anti virus wanted a restart so I decided to go ahead and restart the computer. I have 2 icons in a corner of my desktop for disabling WLAN and enabling WLAN the windows wireless config this is to get around the extreme lag that ruins being on the internet with windows wireless internet config. Anyway after the reboot I click to enable it and get the message 'you do not have sufficient privileges or group policy has been applied'

So I can no longer enable the wireless to connect to a network. But I am the admin and only use that account anyway. Anyone know how to fix this? I can't think of how this happened it's been fine for quite a few months of me clicking the wlan on / off as needed so that I don't get those nasty lag spikes.

I have vista ultimate 32 bit.

I haven't gone wired but might have to later but that's a huge pain and not a permanant solution. Side question: is there another way to actually FIX this crappy searching for internet connections = huge lag spike every minute problem?

Ok heres the deal. My computer is quite old and recently is having a problem where every know and then it would get the blue screen of death and give up. So I found out is because it needed to get a cleaning. So when I was trying to open it I accidentaly, while trying to remove the top, broke a wire (turned out it opened from the side). It's an HP Pavilion m9715f.

Ever since then internet has stopped working. It's not a virus as I have done a full system restore. And when I try to reset the ipv4, it tells me "echo request failed". I have tried so many things but to no avail. Help would be very aprreciated

Im pretty sure it's the cable at the top but I don't know what it does exactly.

Thanks in advanced to all feedback

I use wireless internet every day. A couple of days ago my wireless internet was working normally, but then my computer said "limited or no connectivity". It wasn't just my computer because my roommate also on our wireless network got the same message. So we unplug and replug the modem and router ...

(we only know to do this because when we first moved into our apartment- in September - we were having problems with our internet and it turned out to be a bad modem, which was then replaced by a brand new one and we haven't had a problem since, and our internet connection has since been very stable).

After replugging the modem and router to the outlet, everyone's wireless internet worked except mine. My computer finds my wireless network, and It attempts to connect, "Acquiring network address" "please wait while windows connects..." and after a good minute, it stops the attempt.

I am able to connect to the internet through ethernet cord connected to the router, but my wireless doesn't work. Today I restored my computer to "factory settings" to see if the problem would be solved, but it's still does the same thing.

Could my wireless card need to be replaced? Or could it be some other problem. Any help is appreciated. I can provide more info if asked.

I have a Compaq 6715B, and yesterday while I was browsing the web, my wireless stopped working, it gave me a notification in the "Safely Remove Hardware" thing near the clock, "The blah blah blah Network adapter can now be safely removed".
The wireless hasn't been working ever since.
The troubleshooting that I've done so far are:
Make sure the wireless button on the computer is enabled, it will not enable, it is a "touch" button, and it lights up blue when it's working, it won't even respond to my touch, the other buttons next to it do work. So that's not helping at all.
I have two of the exact same laptop, I switched the wireless card that's installed INSIDE the laptop, not a wireless card that just slides in the side, one that's under the bottom panel, I swapped them, uninstalled the driver, and connected via. ethernet to reinstall the drivers. No dice.
It's not showing up in the device manager or anything..

[edit] I'm running Windows XP Professional, SP3

I'm lost.

Help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Yesterday I was using my laptop, everything was working fine, I left it for a couple of hours whilst I went away to do something else, when I came back it was in Standby Mode, I powered on & I noticed that my wireless wasn't picking up my network, I tried multiple restarts, installing the device driver again & switching to switch on the side to no avail it just has a Orange light & does nothing.

Anyone know anything else I could try?

Really hope it's something software related, my DVD drive failed a few months back, hope I don't have to spend more money on it.

A:Laptop Wireless Randomly Stopped Working

You've done the driver, good. You've checked the switch, good. I doubt a System Restore will help here, but you could also try that.

Also, most of the laptops face the problem with the residual charge storage. Residual charge gets stored near the RAM chips of the laptop. If the voltage of the residual charge reaches threshold then the system will not be able to access the memory and hence will give some problems while working. To bring the laptop back to the working state, you will have to clear the residual charge which is stored on the laptop. To clear the residual charge, shut down the laptop and disconnect it from the AC source. Remove the battery and then press the power button of the laptop for about 30 seconds. Replace the battery and see if the problem still persists or not.

He is wondering if this could be a hardware problem??
Yes, the wireless button is enabled.
No, it's not showing any wireless networks...it says
"No Wireless networks were found in range. Make sure the wirelss switch on your computer is on. To see an updated list click refresh networks."
We did that and get the same message again.

A:Wireless Internet stopped working abruptly... help?

lets try abit of troubleshooting..

- when the internet on your machine cuts off, see if you can still access the router, and if you can still access your husband's laptop.

- try your machine on a known wifi hotspot like a mcdonalds or starbucks or something and see if you can connect to it

-check all relevant settings (ssid, encryption, passcodes, channel etc) are correct to teh letter on both pc/laptop and router

- with your husband's laptop, access the router's main program and see if your laptop is being picked up by it

-check for anything that has changed recently - hardware, software, the weather, environment etc and post them here

- update the drivers for your wifi NIC from the manufacturer's website. And scan your pc for any nasties (ad/spy/malware, virus) while your at it

-move any objects, especialy one that has metal in it away from your router and laptop, so it has direct line of sight to each other

Saturday morning I was reading some email, tried to go to a new website and all of a sudden it wouldn't load. I tried connecting to the internet from my ipod touch, and my boyfriend's laptop, and it didn't work either. So I went and unplugged the modem and wireless router, plugged it back in, restarted my computer, and still no internet. Unplugging everything did work in fixing the connection to my ipod and my boyfriend's laptop though.

I have been doing some googling and apparently this is somewhat of a common problem. I haven't actually been able to find a solution to it though.
Today, on a whim, I decided to login my administrator account on the laptop (something I had "unlocked" a few months ago after I got my laptop back from HP when I sent it in to have my hard drive replaced. They had already set up the laptop and named it "test" and it irritated me and I was trying to accomplish something, but I don't remember what now) and lo and behold, I could access the internet! I switched back to my regular user account, but I was still not able to connect... This is SO BIZZARE to me..

I ran IPCONFIG on the command prompt thing.. (wow, I sound so dumb when I talk computers.. I swear I know how to use one.. I went to run, typed in CMD, then did IPCONFIG/ALL) and this is what came up:

Hi all,

I have a Dell Inspriron E1505 laptop running Windows Vista with Mcafee Antivirus Plus. I have a Linksys Wireless Router WRT54GS.

Yesterday my laptop connectivity stopped working. I have other laptops in my home that are still connected to the internet successfully thru the router, so I think I've eliminated the router as the issue.

Initially, when I would attempt to diagnose the issue I would see a message that said 'Can't connect to Primary DNS Server'. Now I'm seeing a new message "A cable is not plugged into the network adapter Local Area Connection".

I've attached the results of an IPCONFIG /ALL as well as Ping Tests against the default gateway and other IPs.

Clearly from the ping tests, the laptop is not communicating out as the pings all timed out. I just don't understand why and would appreciate any tech help.

Hi everyone, I originally posted this in operating systems, but an admin suggested it might get a better response here:

I have just come back from a friend's house. When I tried to connect to his wireless internet I got the following message from Windows Network Diagnostics: Windows found a problem that cannot be repaired automatically. On following more links, it claims not to be able to connect to the primary DNS server and then claims to have fixed the problem, but internet still doesn't work and there is limited local connectivity in the network connections.

This wouldn't have become a major issue, except that it now does the same for my (previously fine) home wireless connection. I know this works because I am using another computer on it to send you this plea for help.

An interesting point is that while IE7 doesn't show any content, Limewire has a good connection on the same laptop and when I start Limewire, the Network and Sharing Centre show a coloured globe where previously there was a grey one with a red X over the connection to the router. Unfortunately for me, when I click on the coloured globe icon, all I get is IE7 giving the same message as before about not being able to display the webpage.

Hope someone can help - thanks in advance.

Hey guys,

Earlier today I performed a windows update on my Acer Aspire 5600 laptop, and after the restart my wireless stopped working. The update was an optional hardware one for my ethernet port software apparently, and I've no idea if it has caused the problem or not.

I connect to a Belkin 54g wireless router, and usually when I turn the laptop on it automatically connects fine. Now however, I get a red cross through the icon saying it's disconnected or a 'Limited or no connectivity' warning message. I tried looking up the problem using the details button when this box comes up, and it seems in the list of things such as IP, DNS settings etc the last three items have no numbers next to them. The thing is, I can't even pick up any wireless networks anymore. I use the search function and the laptop finds nothing, even though I know my wireless is on and working efficiantly.

It seems to me like my wireless adapter in the laptop is disabled, even though it isn't. I've tried all I can think of, anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks a lot,
- Lee

This morning I was surfing the web on my Lenovo 3000 Y410 just fine--no problems. Then it just completely randomly stopped working. It disconnect while surfing, and now it just says "No wireless networks available".

I've tried restarting and reinstalling the wireless drivers numerous times. I'm also aware that the Fn + F5 key turns the wireless on/off, but pressing this does nothing. I've tried system restore as well as system recovery, but nothing is working.

What could have possibly gone wrong? I was just browsing a forum and this happened. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate, but I assume this has nothing to do with it as the internet has been working just fine until today.

I've very confuzzled

A:Solved: Wireless Internet Randomly Stopped Working

I started reinstalling all the other drivers for the Lenovo, and now when using the Fn keys the notifications started popping up for every Fn key pressed.

NOW, when I press Fn + F5 (the wireless on/off switch) the notification comes up that wire capabilities have been turned off. But, no matter how many times I press it, it always shuts OFF, and never on (whereas in the past it would alternate on/off)!

Why is this? Why can't I turn on my wireless?

Hi all

Just wondering anyone could help me with this please? I used to use irish broadband, a friend's friend helped me connect that to a wireless router, which was all working fine, however i cancelled the irish broadband in May, and i think by then my wireless on my dell inspiron 6400 was still working once i turned on the laptop, i could view all the wireless connection available. i have Intel PRO/Wireless 3845ABG network connection built in.

Then in May i got meteor broadband to go, i installed that, which is working fine. however, since then, my wireless has stopped working, i tried to fix it for days, but could not get anywhere, which is very stressful because everything is turned on and enabled, i looked through trouble shooting and i ran ipconfig, but it says 'media state disconnected'. I rang meteor, and they told me to go to device manager, which i had ensure all card/connection is enabled. but maybe there is something else, im just not sure where to look and fix the problem. i installed meteor broadband on another laptop, which the wireless on that laptop is still working perfectly, only my Dell wireless connection is not

could anyone give me any advice please?

Really appreciated!

I ask that you please be patient with me, as I am not very knowledgeable where computers are concerned.
So my wireless internet connection has been working completely fine on my Windows 8 laptop up until a couple of days ago. The wireless internet is working for all devices in my home except for the laptop. I am currently typing this on my mobile phone. When I try to diagnose the connection, I get an error message that says, "'Wi-Fi' doesn't have a valid ip configuration". I went into the Administrator Command Prompt and attempted an ipconfig /renew as I have heard this solves the problem, but I receive a message that says, "No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection* 11 while it has its media disconnected."

I have reset the computer, but to no avail. The internet connection icon on my taskbar shows me that I have a strong internet connection, but when I mouse over it, it says, "Unidentified Network. No internet access." I have also tried resetting the router. Any help would be much appreciated.

A:Wireless Internet Connection Suddenly Stopped Working on Windows 8

The Local Area Connection would not interfere with the wireless as that's the Ethernet port. That message is normal.

Go into the Network and Sharing Center, then on the left side in the blue section choose change adapter settings.

Right click on the wireless network icon and choose properties.

Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4 and click properties. Make sure both sections are selected for Automatically Obtain IP/DNS address. If you had to change them, click OK then Close. Go back to command prompt and type ipconfig/all and post teh results here.

Yesterday, my internet through wireless stopped working all of a sudden. It was working good till I closed my pc and went out for a few hours. When I returned and tried to access, it simply does not connect. I get an error saying "Windows was unable to connect to abcd (router name)". I tried to plug it into the router through ethernet and it works perfectly.

I have tried to uninstall the wireless adapter and the lan adapter as well. I have tried it in safe mode. I have tried to delete the network also but now that left me with inputting the password everytime I want to connect.

I am living in a student accomodation with 6 more people and all of them's is working good. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate Edition on Dell Studio 1555. The router is a Netgear one for the Virgin Media Superhub.

My husband's laptop stopped accessing the internet. It shows connectivity to the wireless router and worked fine previously.
He thought the problem might be Norton Antivirus 2006 because he started clicking no instead of yes when it was 'doing stuff' and so he asked me to uninstall it as he was not using it. (He is using McAfee free from comcast) I downloaded the Norton Removal Tool as the computer froze each time I tried to access Norton from the control panel. It appeared that the uninstall was successful but that did not solve the problem.

Is there a way to determine for sure if its a hardware problem?

Maybe I need to download a driver?

My internet has stopped working on both my wired and wireless connections.

Kimberley89 raised the same problem and i have been through the solutions suggested on thread number 928983 and have come to the end, as she did, with the problem unresolved.

When I load my machine it says:

"Your wifi catcher band configuration is not compastiblewith your WLAN card band configuration" "select yes to automatically change your wifi catcher or no to keep your current band configuration." Neither resolves the issue.

I too have the Dell wireless 1395 mini-card and run vista.

I was unable to do the SFC step:

"Cannot open boe\Desktop\SFCdetails.txt"

I havent run a registry check would you recommend this and if so advise on a suitable program as i do not have one.

Thanks in advance,

I have an HP/Compaq laptop that is quite a few years old but has been working fine. It has stopped connecting to the internet although it will connect to my wireless network. The internet works and all other devices (my tablet, my phone, daughter's laptop, etc) all connect. The laptop started having troubles recently and would eventually connect to the internet if I rebooted a couple of times. However, I've been trying multiple times today and it still won't connect. I have Windows Vista and the repair function has not fixed it or diagnosed the error. Suggestions most welcome.

Hey all,

Yesterday I was at my bros house clearing up space on his Samsung s3510 laptop and I've removed a few programs and a Samsung related program although I can't remember what it was now. I ran malware removal software and it deleted what it found. I then installed the Kodi app to his laptop, so he could stream films etc and it didn't connect, so I removed his firewall.
All of a sudden, the wifi internet just suddenly stopped working!
Saying it cannot connect to the Internet. I'm still puzzled as to what I've done. The laptop says there is a connection available and when I go to click 'connect' it asks for name and password, but it still won't connect! Obviously bro and his gf are mega pissed off with me now! ha, really don't know what to do. Was working absolutely fine up until this point and I'm pretty sure I haven't removed any programs regarding the internet stuff.

Please can somebody help me on this!

Many thanks for taking time to read this and look forward to any replies!

That's what happens when you remove things that should not be removed.

Use a restore point to a time before you cleaned off those programs.

Hello guys

a very annoying problem I have eversince I got wireless internet in 2004. My internet just randomly stops working, mostly when I boot my laptop or when I get it out off standby. This is what happens:

I try to connect to my router, but Windows says "cannot connect to belkin54g" (SSID). The strange thing is, I had the same with my old Windows XP computer years ago, but back then I had a Linksys router. My current router is a Belking (no idea what model).

Also very weird is the fact that my internet monitor (I installed a Windows 7 desktop gadget) shows that the connection is being interrupted all the time. It goes from 33% signal strength to 100% in 3 seconds but after another 3 seconds the signal is lost and the gadget is displaying 0% signal strength. Though the LED on my router's WLAN is not red, nor are any other LED's colored red.

Can someone pleaaaaaaaaaaase help me out? I got this problem for years and years. I've also configured my network card not to go in standby modus whenever the laptop is in standby, this didn't work out the way I've hoped.

One more thing, once I am connected to the router and have access to the internet, there is no problem anymore and I can be online for like 1 month without rebooting or whatever. But sometimes when I reboot/come back out of standby it just doesn't work and I need to reboot again. Sometimes it still doesn't work after rebooting so I reboot again and then it is mostly working, but it is so *beep* annoying... Read more

Have you rebooted your wireless router recently?

Have you tried changing any of the broadcast channels? Maybe an electrical device is causing interference.

I just got a new dell laptop. When i turn on the computer, it says i am connected to a wireless network, and i have a full signal. however, when i click on internet explorer, nothing comes up-not even a system message, let alone a website. also, on the bottom toolbar, there is an icon of two little computers and it says "a network cable is unplugged". please help. i can't figure out what's wrong. thanks.

A:HELP!! new laptop and wireless network but no working internet!

Click Start, Control Panel then Network Connections. You should have a Wireless connection there. Double click it. Click View Wireless Networks and you should have a wireless network there. If not click refresh network list on the left. If you do have one shown click on advanced settings then wireless settings. Click on Advanced make sure Any Available Network is checked. If more that one wireless network is showing you have to move your Up to the first position. Also do you have Wep Or Wap enabled? If so you would have to enter the key. Also make sure you are close to your wireless router when doing this to rule out a weak signal.

When I try and access the internet through any of the main browsers (I.e. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari) they tell me along the lines of 'unable to access the network' and 'this page can't be displayed' after taking a while attempting to load. I also cannot access it through any of my Windows 8 apps. I know it's not an issue with the home broadband itself and is something to do with my laptop as it is running fine both wirelessly and through using an Ethernet cable on all other devices. I would really appreciate some help with trying to fix this asap as I have spent a lot of time researching this issue and trying most things to resolve it without success, I also need to use the internet for loads of coursework over the summer hols and cannot afford to be taking it to a pricey IT technician. Please helppp

A:My laptop cannot connect to the internet, even though wireless and ethernet are working

Take a look at the file
\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hoststhere MUST be at least a line reading LOCALHOST
but the question is there anything other than comments in it?
If so, leave the comments and the localhost line and delete everything else.

If you modify the hosts file, then you also need to

ipconfig /flushdns
net stop "dns client"
net start "dns client"

I spent about an hour going through similar posts here but didn't really find what I needed. I'm hoping this is just something stupid on my part.
Here's the deal:
My sons laptop crashed. I did what I could to recover it but, no good. Was able to recover his important files (from help I got here) so I picked up a new harddrive (WD60gig) and installed WINXP Pro fresh.

My desktop is hardwired from a Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Broadband router that is connected to cablevision via a 3Com U.S. Robotics modem.

The problem now is trying to get an internet connection on the laptop.

Prior to the crash, he was able to connect using the wireless router.

I've tried going directly to the laptop from the modem just to get an internet connection but I haven't got that to happen yet.

Do I need to install the 3com modem software on the laptop?

I just installed Norton Antivrus 2005 on the Desktop.

How do I check for Firewall issues?

Any help is appreciated. Even just a pointer to a good article might do it.

A:Having a problem getting Wireless Laptop Internet connection working

So Your laptop has a wireless network card? Install the drivers for that and make sure it is working, then on the computer with the router, the laptop card should show up, try to establish that first.

My google searches are being redirect to various sites and i receive a error message saying "dell wireless wlan card has stopped working" but im still using my wireless internet just fine. They both started acting up after an ill advised download from a bit torrent site. I scanned my computer with malwarebytes and it found some infections but did not do anything for me, then i scanned with avg anti-virus and it found nothing. (malwarebytes and avg anti-virus are the only anti virus software i have and are both fully updated)

My computer is a Dell Inspiron 1501 with Windows Vista Basic

Seems that you've done all sorts of troubleshooting. Have you tried opening up the case and see if the card can be taken out then reseat it properly? Careful though, you don't want to damage the Motherboard.

Is your laptop still under warranty? Might want to call Lenovo Support.
If not, perhaps shop for a new Wi-Fi adapter.

So one day I was using a laptop wirelessly when the internet just suddenly turned off. I checked my modem and it was working fine but when I checked my router, the lights were on but not blinking. it was just a steady light. when I checked for a wireless network the name of the network I usually use didnt show up.

I tried unplugging everything and plugging everything back in again and I tried pressing the reset button on the back of the router. Can anyone help?

Thanks so much

P.S. my router is a linksys WRT300N Wireless-N Broadband router

A:Wireless router suddenly stopped working (Lights still working though)

what devices do you have connected the router anything else wireless
make and model of the pc

does the PC work if you connect to the router by a cable ?
if not
try connecting directly to the modem and see if that works OK

we need to see some details, which will mean you need to copy to a working PC
{run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector} Download and install
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC

Direct link to the program is here http://www.xirrus.com/library/wifi_download_redirect.php
Then run and install the program
if you get an error - You need NET Framework installed for the WiFi Inspector to function.

Run the program

post a screen shot of the program running - if there are a lot of networks showing can you click on "networks" top lefthand area - so we can see all the network information, and also post which network "Adapter Name" (1st column) is yours on the list

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file.
To upload it to the forum, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.

the problem is that,my internet was working fairly okay on wireless, until i couldnt access somethings like online multiplayer on games.so i decided to give the router a reboot see if that would do anything.and its stopped the wireless working! i checked on the laptop aswell any many other devices,it'll pick up the network sometimes (tries to connect if i have the setting on 'connect automatically') but it'll vanish in about 4-5 seconds,i can only connect via ethernet so i will leave a xirrus shot and a ipconfig(via ethernet on of course),i tried other things like 30-30-30 reset and a hard reset, but still the same!i hope theres a solution for this!

Thanks sam
