Q: BSODs while idle; Driver Verifier report report available

I'll try and make this concise: BSODs occur even while desktop is not in use. Memory_Management and PFN_LIST_CORRUPT is what I remember seeing.

Also: IE9, IE10 and IE11 all "stop working" randomly. Chrome - ditto. FF32 - ditto.

I've run Memtest86 (10 passes) no errors.

The last BSOD was deliberate insofar as I was running Driver Verifier. I'm not sure if I am posting in the right area since the browser crashes and BSODs may be two separate issues ... ?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

Hi Everyone,

I am getting the below error when i run the drill down report. error is populating for 5-7 seconds then generating the required report.
The attempt to connect to the report server failed. Check your connection information and that the report server is a compatible version. The request failed with HTTP status 404.

Some forums suggested to install the update in report server. but could not resolve the issue.

Dears,I have designed a database with many reports of certain importance. basically a report in my DB is one of two types; a Daily Report (requires a single criteria which is the date) and the second is a History report. To view or print a report, I have designed a Filter form to fill in with the report criteria and clicking a button to open the report.The first type (Daily R) work fine without problems. The second type (History R)has a problem. In this report, the criteria are two or three because a history report will retrieve data within a period, so I have to input (FromDate) and (ToDate)and may be adding another criteria which is called a company.In all history reports, the report header will accomodate the two input values of date and extract the rest of report items into the reprot detail area.The problem is, the desigened system doesnot respond well as expected. When I load the filter form to fill in criteria for a history report, I have input the FromDate and ToDate and selected the third criteria (if any), then, the reprot opens without data in it.on the other hand, I tried to load the report directly form opening it, inputing criteria, and it has worked fine without probelms.Would someone expect a key reason for this problem or dirtecly can solve this problem?Appreciate youtr support.Thanks in Advance.mhegazy

Ok, I tried that [Driver Verifier], and when I restarted, rather than verifying drivers or anything, it started up normally, and gave me a bsod at the login screen. Any idea how I can fix this?

Hello.

I have a report, with 3 sub-reports in. It collects all the data for a particular SiteID. in Each of the sub-reports, there is a cost value. One for Hardware, one for Mobiles, and one for Phone lines. I have fields at the top of report which reflects the values and totals them up. Works great, except:
When i have a SiteID with one of the subforms being empty; i.e no mobiles on the site it displays fine in the report view, but when i go to print or publish as a pdf it strips out the subform with no value, and throws an error in my calculation. I need the calculation there, which means i need it to stop striping out the subform with no value. I however cannot see how to do this...its just bugging me, its fine inthe report view, just when you send it to print.

Hi,

I've had to deal with BSODs for ages, and every couple of months I try to find a source. I've used WinDbg on every dump that I've been able to generate and found little real information. Recently I thought I'd got lucky when I used Driver Verifier when it flagged both the SoftEther VPN and Avast driver, but soon after I got the CRITICAL STRUCTURE CORRUPTION BSOD.

I'm currently running verifier to try and force another BSOD out of the system in case there is a driver problem, but the issue has been there so long that I'm fairly certain it's a hardware problem. I tested the RAM with memtest86, no problem ever occurring during the time I had it running. The only other pair of RAM sticks I have are confirmed faulty, so not an option to swap.

I've replaced the motherboard 3 times over this computer's lifetime (which is about 5 years now) and this is the second CPU. The PSU was also replaced at one point, from a generic model to an OCZ. I have no reason to believe that there is not enough power supplied to the computer, as it's a 650W model with a single graphics card.

P.S. Consider using environment variables to extrapolate the location of the desktop rather than hard-coding C:/Users/[user]/Desktop, as I have it stored on another drive and was annoying to find.

So I've been getting BSODs lately. I would get the occasional one, but lately I've been able to have them happen without fail when trying to both host and play on a Minecraft server.

I did 2 passes with Windows' 'Diagnose your computer's memory problems' tool and it found no error, so I assume it's a driver issue. I've received so far a 'BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER' BSOD, and a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL' BSOD. Neither crash produced a minidump, and the last few crashes I don't even get a BSOD, it just crashes and reboots.

I've attempted to run Windows' Driver Verifier, but doing so freezes the OS upon startup, so I can't even do that.

Given that I can get a crash with 100% reliability with hosting a Minecraft server and then attempting to play on it, I assume it's somehow Java/peripheral/video card related, but I can't be sure. I don't get BSODs reliably with most, if any other non-Java games.

I've since uninstalled and re-installed Java and I'd be willing to pay someone to help me fix this issue at this point.

Disable Driver verifier.

Follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Seeing the crash dumps, if we suggest you to enable Driver Verifier, go for it then only.

I am using Access 2003 and want to put the file (database) name and the report name in the footer of my report. I'm using =CurrentProject.Name as the control source in a text box of the footer to get the file name. Is there a command I can use to add the report name?

You could try this:

In the VBA code module (Class Module) for your report write a simple function (I've called it Get_Report_Name in my example):

Private Function Get_Report_Name() As String

Get_Report_Name = Me.NAME

End Function

In your report footer: add a text box at the position where you want to display the report name. In the Control Source property for the new text box enter: =Get_Report_Name()

This should display the report name when the report is run.

I have a very simple data base 3 tables

Product table with 2 fields productid and productdescription

Sale1 is the basic information of a sale invoice number and who items are sold to

Sale2 is the details and shows qty , item, price, and GST charged if any (some people or organizations are tax exempt so it becomes zero.

I've got my form and subform to run correctly

I've got my report to print all items correctly but I can't total the value

the line value for each item is a textbox

=Sum([QTY] * [Saleprice])*([GST])+([QTY] * [Saleprice])

This does return the correct value for that line item.

HOW can I correctly total the sum of all items into the reporrt footer???

HELP please the sale is tomorrow through Sunday.

Add a duplicate of your current calculating field and set it's "Running Sum" (under data tab) to yes overall.
Then in the footer use the new field as the totals Control Source.

Hi, glad to be amongest you techies! I have a problem (don't we all, I know), I rebooted my PC to it's start point about a month ago after my desktop refused to appear when I turned it on one morning.

It had been running rather slowly before then (videos, a long period before it would load up after starting), but one day, just a blue screen, so I rebooted, things were better, except for a loss of sound.

I tried uninstalling & reinstalling my driver (Realtek '97) on Windows' Device Manager, only to be told that it wasn't compatible with my system & that I would risk my PC's health if I continued installing.

So I was directed to Everest, from where I got the report on my PC i'm about to link to (if that's ok?).

Maybe someone'll spot something in the report that'll direct me to where I should go for a compatible driver.

I was told I probably needed to upgrade my Windows to Service Pack 3 (i'm on 1 now), someone else said I should get a sound card.

I'm about at my wits end with this & i'd appreciated any assistance/advice you can give me.

Did it say that the driver wasn't compatible, or did it say that the driver you were installing wasn't digitally signed?

Have you tried simply uninstalling the driver from device manager, then rebooting so that windows reinstalls it automatically?

After an install of XP there is no sound.

I ran a report from Everest and this is the report. I already downloaded SIS 7012 but that didn't seem to be the problem.

In device manager the exclamation point is next to multimedia controller under other devices.

Can someone please help? I'm going bonkers!

I uninstalled my old driver to update them and when I open the catalyst installer, I only get to choose install location and when I click install button it loads really fast to about 3/4's full then crashes with no error report given. Please help!!

Unfortunately this could be any number of things if no error report is given.

Give the following a try:
Check to see if your firewall has blocked/sandboxed the catalyst installer. I personally use Comodo Internet Security and often find new files get sandboxed and can't install/run properly as a result. If this is the case you'll need to add the installer as a trusted file via the control panel of your chosen firewall.
Redownload the catalyst installer. There's always the chance that you have a damaged file.
Boot up in safe mode and try to install the catalyst installer from there.

I have a HP 630 notebook with win7 Ultimate 64 bit.When I tried to generate a system health report I am getting a time out error. So I went through many threads here about this problem but could not find a solution. Finally I made a clean Install and ran the perfmon.exe and found that I could generate the report. But when I installed the recommended driver Atheros Bluetooth driver(64) from HP's site, the report generation failed and gives time out error. My dilemma is that if I uninstall the bluetooth driver I can run system health report but bluetooth will not work. What am I to do to get both?

USB Selective Suspend - Turn On or Off

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type ?msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the ?Startup? tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.

What happened? I rebooted the computer and the problem has gone. I would like to know how to avoid it in the future. Can anyone tell me what the crash report says in simple English? ;-D
PS: This module ntdll.dll has already caused other crashes before - it caused svchost.exe to crash (Host Process for Windows Services stopped working). This happened after installing HP software. Don't know if all this is connected to the printer software.

I have had BSOD for a while and being super busy I did not have time to look at it and get it fixed. Well Being a computer guy I assumed I could fix it myself. But with tons of research and trying to use every guide I can find I decided to try here(probably should have came here first). Today I started Driver Verifier and having it check all drivers. If overclocking, reset all overclocks back to their default settings and then follow these:

Video - run the FURMARK test for 20mins

Same error again... I was using Google Earth, and my external monitor went black (this happens when I'm out of RAM, but I have additional 4 GB paging file, and 16 GB physical RAM), I turned my laptop to sleep (usually I can fix this black screen problem by turning to sleep and back on) and back on, and it showed BSOD - SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION:

BTW I don't have those crash-causing NVIDIA drivers installed for 2 months now, all I have is Intel HD 4600 Graphics which I installed in non-traditional way (by using 'Have Disk'), because there is no other way, Toshiba doesn't provide drivers like these anymore, so I had to update using original Intel drivers (they are compatible with my processor and intel graphics version).

I just ran driver verifier, and here are 3 BSOD messages that showed up

Hi all.

My computer has always had intermittent BSOD but generally it's been only 1-2 a month and after a system restart everything works fine. In the last couple of weeks I've been getting BSOD after only a few minutes of operation every time I start up and generally after these errors the computer won't boot - sometimes it will be a black screen after BIOS check, sometimes it won't even get that far - just black screen without the BIOS check even starting. Usually the only way to get it to boot again is to disconnect the power and remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard. I've run driver verifier which has indeed generated it's own minidumps but I don't really understand what these error reports are trying to tell me - if someone could take a look and point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Your BIOS dates from 2010. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

Only 128 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 160 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

I recently started a new job and was given a new Dell Laptop. I am having seemingly randomly BSOD issues. Some days it doesn't happen at all and some days it can happen up to ten times. I've got several BSOD errors (mainly CRITICAL PROCESS DIED). I believe it's a driver

related issue. I've tried updating all my drivers and firmware to no avail.

I used the Driver Verifier and immediately got errors with sedfilter.sys and symefasi64.sys. I had to boot into safe mode to turn the verifier off. I tried the verifier without those two enabled and got DRIVER VERIFIER DETECTED VIOLATION.

Help would be greatly appreciated, this issue is a real pain!

Please update your version of hijackthis as your using an old version. Also consider installing either the SP1/SP2 service packs for both IE6 and XP.

If you have a highspeed connection please Run an online virus scan from TrendMicro Please select the ?autoclean? option when prompted to do so.

Before attacking an adware/spyware problem with hijackthis make sure you have already run ad-aware SE with VX2 addon cleaner, Spybot Search & Destroy (with updated database) and CWShredder as these programs will clean a lot of the crap out first. All links to programs are in my signature. Ok..on to the log?..


Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing/visible also. Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore.

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers. Enter add/remove programs and remove the following if listed.

A:can anyone help with this HJT report

I'm afraid I can't help with interpreting the log but I can make two suggestions;

1. Post the log again in the Security Forum where it is more likely to be seen by one of the experts and mention what, if any, problems you are having, and,

2. Read this Tutorial while you are waiting;http://aumha.org/a/hjttutor.php
DO NOT be tempted to 'fix' anything with HJT because the consequences of a bad choice could be very serious.

One thing I did notice in your log was that you appear to have Norton and AVG installed. If both are running that could cause errors or conflicts between the two programs and make you less safe than if you had only one AV program.
