Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?

Q: Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?

I tried to run both defogger.exe and dds.scr. however, they are getting stopped by the malware. The pop-up says: "Security Alert / Virus Alert! / Application cannot be started! / The file dds.scr is damaged. / Do you want to activate your antivirus software now? ".

Other random alerts come up as well: " Antivirus software alert / Infiltration Alert virus attack / your computer is being attacked by an internet virus. It could be a password-stealing attack, a trojan-dropper or similar. / details / attack from 100.110.219.105, port 36132 attacked port 22243 / threat: BankerFox.A / Do you wnat to block this attack? / Yes No"

No files to attach since I cannot run a screenshot tool or anything to paste it into

Preferred Solution: Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:Application cannot be executed Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove,you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts,click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

So basically today I went on some random website (meebo.com) that I regularly use to chat. A few moments after that, some virus scanner comes up and begins to scan my computer. I quickly close it because I know it's probably some Spyware... but I think it was too late. Soon after all this other "antivirus" software began to start scanning on my computer and I quickly closed them all. But now about every four or five seconds a windows "Security Warning" pops up on my computer and tells me that I cannot execute an application--usually it's "wuauclt.exe" And an Antivirus software alert also pops up on the bottom right hand of my screen telling me that a trojan is attempting to infect my computer. Also, internet explorer windows pop up every couple of minutes attempting to open up viagra or other porno websites.I've seen the rules for creating posts, but I absolutely cannot open any sort of application on my computer because every time I try to open an app, Security Warnings pop up on my computer telling me the application is infected and cannot be opened. I've already tried opening up Safe Mode and doing a virus scan there to no avail--hell I can't even open up minesweeper.Please help. I use this computer to work and this is incredibly inconvenient.edit: Flash, java and all the other plugins websites require to run do not work as well.edit2: I've read through some threads on this site about the process in removing this spywa... Good morning.

For some reason my system has gone haywire. I am having the IE browswer opening up on random porn sites. I keep getting security alerts from something that keeps telling me files are infected and that I need to install some kind of antivirus software. The software keeps indicating the software needs to be activated. The software will not close at all it stays in the system tray. I can not get this alert to shut down. I keep getting a message that a trojan is attacking my system asking if I want to block it. I have had files listed as infected such as wuauclt.exe. I keep getting security center opening up indicating the firewall and anti virus is activated.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I tried running nortons but nothing is happening.

Thank you

Good morning,
I have problems as stated in the topic title. I was only able to access the PC through the link to some policies online while messing around in the activation prompt. I input "My Computer" in the address line and it got me to "my comp." but still cannot see the Start bar, cannot use the win key on the keyboard, unable to install antivirus SW. I still succeeded in entering Control Panels for a short time when I hit the Programe files directory at the C: drive (the Start bar appears for a second).

I run Win XP SP3. Wanted to repair/reinstall windows from a CD - no success (the CD won§t load at booting, the My Computer  thing or web browser won§t open it either but can open a different DVD medium). Wanted to burn a combined (or whatever it is called) CD image of Win with SP3 according to your guidelines on your website but the burner says my optical drive is not ready.

The PC won§t let me install any antivirus. It either just deletes the installation file from the USB I try to install it from or it just gets stuck right before finalizing the installation. Anything that I succeed in installing gets corrupt shortly.

All this breakdown happened after running my system through a newly installed antivirus called Panda. My external HDD was already infected and there was no way of curing it - tried like 3 times, 4th time made my computer break down like this.

As my internal HDD is like 160 GB or so and I managed to bac... Read more

I have an HP Media Center with Windows XP Professional installed. I recently had a problem and had to restore my computer. I had previously backed up my computer's hard drive to a removable drive. After restoring my computer, a lot of my restored applications did not function properly.

The problem I am requesting help for is for a program that loads, but whenever I try to run it I get an error report. The program is for the Dacal CD Library DC-101 CD storage carousel.

I have installed and uninstalled the software from the original CD several times all with the same result. My computer is for a single user (myself) and I have Administrator authority.

The software worked fine when initially installed, before I restored my computer. I even tried to restore from my backup with the same results. The installed hardware (the carousel) works manually, but I would really like to create and update an index on my computer.

Check the driver software that is loaded for your wireless card. Most of them have an enable/disable option.

Check on eBay for a new keyboard. I've gotten replacement laptop keyboards for $10, and they are usually very simple to replace.

First I would like to apologize for leaving this forum. I am still as computer illiterate as I was. I just sometimes don't know how to follow the wise computer instructions of your staff there. As I have mentioned before everything has to be in very simple language for me.
Ok here goes again. I had Avast 4 downloaded. Tried to upgrade to 5. But, didn't quite get it downloaded. Don't remember the reason. But, then I got the error code that "cannot activate resident part standard shell provider not known." Then also and error of 1053. At one point it said Avast 4 has a virus. But did not give me a name. I forgot the name of the download that is supposed to get rid of Avast but I tried to download it and my computer would not let me down load then downloaded MBAM and I did one scan and it said I did not have a virus. Then I tried it again and the MBAM no longer worked for me to check it again. Also, I still can go into the security part of my computer and it shows that Avast is there and there it says that "Avast is turned off" and I also get a "key not registered" for the Avast 5 that shows up every time I turn the computer on and it is not on the computer at all to my knowledge. What a mess!
I have a question or two. What do I do? Also, is it safe to download Avast 5 still or can I go back and download Avast 4 again or should or can I download another antivirus for my 32 bit Vista Windows 7? Please help me.
Remember if you ask me t... Read more

My computer is infected. When I use google or yahoo, it always redirects me when I click on a result from a search. (One thing of difference is that the search box is cut in half, which looks strange.) I've tried running Malaware, but for some reason, it won't start up. Same goes for Malware Sweeper, Spybot, and while Adaware ran detected what I think may be the problem, it wouldn't let me delete it, even though I could delete other problems that were detected. Also, if I type the URL for any site having to do with antivirus software or advice, it won't load it. Seems like these bastards have made escape routes airtight.

I apologize if I put the post in the wrong forum or if it was posted previously. I looked at other problems, and while they said to use certain software, it almost always won't start up. Could someone help?

A:Browser redirects, cannot access antivirus URLs or execute antivirus software.

Hello and welcome. Please try these and let me know.Some types of malware will disable MBAM and other security tools. If MBAM will not install, try renaming it. Right-click on the mbam-setup.exe file and change the .exe extension to .bat, .com, .pif, or .scr and then double-click on it to run.If after installation, MBAM will not run, open the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder in Program Files, right-click on mbam.exe and change the .exe as noted above. Then double-click on it to run. ***Another work around is by not using the mouse to install it, Just use the arrow keys, tab, and enter keys.***If you cannot use the Internet,you will need access to another computer that has a connection.From there save mbam-setup.exe to a flash,usb,jump drive or CD. Now transfer it to the infected machine, then install and run the program. If you cannot transfer to or install on the infected machine, try running the setup (installation) file directly from the flash drive or CD by double-clicking on mbam-setup.exe so it will install on the hard drive.Manually Downloading Updates: Manually download them from HERE and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. Alternatively, you can update through MBAM's interface from a clean computer, copy the definitions (rules.ref) located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from that system to a usb stick or CD and then copy it to the infected machine.

Hello, I am unable to update my antivirus software (Norton Internet Security) as it cannot connect to the LiveUpdate server even though I am connected to the internet and can access all sites except for those such as Symantec or Microsoft. I've even checked if I was able to websites for free antivirus such as AVG and Avast! but still I am unable to do that. On reading the forum thread posting rules, I tried downloading DDS and GMER but still wasn't able to do so since bleepingcomputer.com and gmer.net was unable to load.

I was however able to use HijackThis, and this log was created:

These are the instructions I found googling my problem:

1. Type services.msc, and then press Enter.
2. In the list of services locate Software Licensing
3. Right-click it, select Properties
4. Change ?Startup type:? to Automatic, then click OK
5. You may then need to select Software Licensing again then click ?Restart the service?
(from Windows Activation Error, Error Code 0x80070426? - Microsoft Community)

My problem is I can't start the Software Protection. A few minutes later, it just turns itself off. So without starting it, I can't even change the Startup type.

A:Error 0x80070426. Also can't activate Software Protection!

Update!

I found a way to change start-up type by editing regedit.

Here's how:
ctrl + r
regedit
enter
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\sppsvc
Double click 'Start' key to change value
Do the same for 'DelayedAutoStart'

Change accordingly:
Automatic (Delayed Start)
DelayedAutostart = 1

Start = 2

Automatic
DelayedAutostart = 0

Start = 2

Manual
DelayedAutostart = 0

Start = 3

Disabled
DelayedAutostart = 0

Start = 4

Now, my problem is that the service turns itself off automatically, after a few minutes. Someone please chip in.

Hello!

I'm trying to help a friend with their machine. They claimed major problems which based on the description was some phony antivirus malware. They said they could not navigate in their browser or even use the most basic functions in their computer. Windows would load as normal and then the "program" would take over prompting them to pay $59.95 to sign up to remove the supposed virus. They shut down the machine, subsequently brought it to me to help fix, I turned on the computer and could not reproduce the problem. The machine could be described as sluggish at worst, but I did notice that there were two antivirus programs installed- norton internet security and webroot antivirus (never heard of that one). Based on the nature of their original description of the problem I decided to come here as I have had great success in removing viruses and malware here in the past and wanted to be double sure that there is nothing wrong with the computer before I return it. Please note- I am not performing this task for payment or profit of any kind- rather just trying to help a less computer literate friend. Also I have not gone any further in troubleshooting the problems here than following the preparation guide for posting in this forum and running a standard Windows "add/remove programs" uninstall of both antivirus programs...one was not activated and the other was expired as of today. Your assistance in analyzing this problem would be greatly app... Read more

Alright so I got this fake anti-virus from tvshack.cc, and have actually contracted it numerous times (what can I say, tv shack is amazing). Since then I have found an awesome add-on for firefox called NoScript, which blocks all the malicious crap from the site while still allowing the scripts that actually stream the videos through. I've been using this program for a couple weeks now and have not had a problem since. So, contracting this malware should no longer be a problem. The malware caused pop-ups showing fake scans, saying "buy our fake product to solve the issue we caused!" (k maybe not those exact words). It blocked me from being able to execute any application, erased my system restore points, interfered and changed the settings of programs, and would give me the Blue Screen of Death ("A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer"). Every time it happened, including the most recent, I cleared out most of it with updated versions of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware(first in safe mode, then normal mode) and SUPERAntispyware(normal mode only). However I'm still encountering some leftover problems. The Blue Screen of Death still occurs every once in a while (not nearly as much as it use to) resulting in an immediate and 'unexpected' shutdown. Some programs cannot be updated, installed, or activated. Superantispyware tries to update but a message error comes up saying superantispyware.exe i... Read more

I'm going to try this:

But I want to make sure that it won't kill my computer if it isn't exactly the same xD And if it doesn't work I'll come back here.
A lot of users have the same case as me I think - malware trying to make me activate some sorta anti-spyware program or something, random lewd internet pop-ups, warnings, also the task bar has like 500 windows update icons. There are two windows that I can't move - one says ATTENTION! SPYWARE ALERT! with a shield and all that, and the other says Antivirus Software Alert and is in the bottom right hand corner. They both have that windows shield on the bar where theres usually an X and all that, and both bars are red. Also that little windows error thing that has the "application cannot be executed..."
Task Manager won't start either.
:3 please help. In the mean time I might try that forum's suggestion cause we're kinda restless and we're not sure if it gets worse the longer you wait or whatever (also the task bar is freaking me out/making me mad. too many icons eating my start bar).

I would like to do a complete scan on my system also because I have recently had 2 blue screens lately. What steps should I use to completely check my system. The only programs that I have recently installed is the software for a brother multifunction and something for the Belkin Pre-N router.

I just spent the last three hours on the phone. I was transferred 5 times and no one could help me. I want to rage beyond words right now.

So here is the problem...

I have a legitimate copy of Windows 7 ultimate. (that I bought in 2010 from my college.)

When windows 10 came out I made a mistake and did a CLEAN install not knowing the idiotic rule of not being able to validate the old windows 7 key. (validation only works if I did a windows 7 to 10 upgrade FOR SOME STUPID REASON.)

Now I am stuck in windows 10. My windows 7 key will not validate to re download windows 7 in order to UPGRADE to windows 10.

I have the disc of windows 7 but I do not have a CD rom. (so I will need to do a USB install)

When I call Microsoft they check my key (to ensure it is valid) they say everything is fine with it, but like I said I cannot use it.

I have not given this key to ANYONE. I also did not deactivate it before the windows 10 clean install.

When I attempt to download the windows 7 download and enter my key I get this response...

"Error

In the opinion of most, and the others, will surely give their opinions; Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes and a good firewall.

Actually, the name it goes by is "Security Antivirus". Got this malware the other day. Haven't been able to find the actual name on any of the antivirus site I've checked. It was blocking downloads of any antivirus programs I was trying to get.

I ran ComboFix and it managed to stop the blocking of my current antivirus (Avast! and AdAware), but it still won't let me download any others. It seems I'm still infected, though I'm not getting the popup windows now.

Thanks for any help.

I am just wondering; what is the best paid antivirus software based on effectiveness. When I say effectiveness I mean as in being able to catch/delete any virus/trojan/worm possible and not use up a ton of resources for just being on. I have Mcafee and the site advisor and other stuff eat up a lot of resources.

I looked around and found this site: http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/
Would you say it's accurate?

What would you recommend?

Hi,

Please could you help me with my problem. I keep getting pop ups tellin me that I have viruses on my machine and asking me to buy an antivirus software. A pop up appears which goes to a site where I am asked to buy some antivirus software. Also when I open up my IE browser on Google and do a search the window does not load the search results page. It freezes and takes a long time to load.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

My norton antivirus is going to expire in few days now, i was going to buy a new one while my friend just adviced me to not install norton antivirus, becoz it slows down the pc performance a lot, and yet that is a big prb with my pc, so asked other ppl which one to use other then norton antivirus,

someone said Pc-Cillin and some said MacAfee, but many said to not install any antivirus software just do an online free antivirus scan every month!

I want to ask you guyz what is the best way, to install an antivirus or just online scan.

If to install an antivirus software then which one, pls recommend.

THANKYOU
