OS crashes every few months

Q: OS crashes every few months

Every few months one of PCs at my home is really unstable. That PC is a 'spare' machine, so that wasn't a big problem. But it's really irritable because I have to set off power supply for a couple of minutes and hope it'll work stable again for next few months or so.

Could somebody check my 2 newest minidumps and analyze it? Yesterday I installed the drivers for gpu. Sadly, today saw BSOD again.

OS: Windows 8, but earlier on Windows 7 also was the same problem.
Problem: various BSOD every few months.

My machine:
- mobo: Asus P5Q Deluxe (bios version: 2301);
- CPU: E8500 (never overlocked);
- GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4650 (sapphire version with heatpipes, GPU temperature from gpu-z: ~37-38C, I don't play any games);
- RAM: 2x2GB, corsair dominator PC2-8500 (tested also with some Kingston 2x2GB sticks);
- power supply: 550W (bequiet darkpower pro);
- antivirus: Avast;

The first signs of instability: firefox crashes, then later (sometimes) Visual Studio crashes.
This time the crashes started when PC was running more than a day doing some calculations. As always, Firefox crashed first.

BSODs on Windows 8:
DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
and one more BSOD, but I didn't write it down.

Earlier on Windows 7:
error codes:
1A - memory_management
3B - system_service_exception
D2,
24,
1 - apc_index_mismatch

Errors 0x1 & 0x3b often showed when Visual Studio was running.

Each time I see a BSOD on Win8 the text with it is all blurry and hard to read. Is it normal?

What I tried (with Win7 as OS):
- change RAM sticks, change slots, put only one stick. The effect is a lottery: PC is working good for some time (1 day or a couple of months) and then crashes;
- apply the new thermal paste on CPU;
- install system on a different hard drive, change sata cables and ports, change supply cables;

Small observation: some time ago I had Win7 and Ubuntu at one hard drive. While I couldn't boot Win7 at all, Ubuntu was starting normally, working for a small amount of time and then crashing.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

As the subject line implies, I've now had 2 HD crashes in 4 months. I'm running a Lenovo PC with SATA drives. Here's the thing...both times it was my secondary drive. The original drive is fine...so far.

The first time this happened, I had 3 drives hooked up. My C drive, a 2nd drive connected to the SATA connection on the MB, and then I had an external drive enclosure (USB). First, the drive in that enclosure stopped. The bios could find no sign of it, even when I connected it directly to the MB. It will spin for a few seconds and then stop.

The second time this happened (today), the drive was my 1T Seagate that is relatively new. I had earlier performed a Photoshop batch script that adjusted about 700 photos on that drive. All went well. And hour later, I got a BSOD. I allowed Windows to perform the startup thing (I forget exactly what it said) and it couldn't because it could not access the drive. Every time I would try to start the PC, it would go BSOD. Until I disconnected that 2nd drive. Then the PC started right up...no problems. Tried connecting the 2nd drive again and it can't see it. The drive spins up but can't be found.

So my question is, could the onboard controller, or something else (power supply?) be causing this or is it simply a coincidence that I've lost 2 drives in 4 months. I don't think I've lost 2 drives in the previous 10 years

Ideas? Thanks in advance....

Hi everyone,

My computer has been crashing several times a day for almost 2 months now, and I'm at my wits' end.

I've tried absolutely everything I can think of, and followed advice from this and countless other forums, but unfortunately I'm not very good at this 'under the hood' stuff when it comes to computers and I just really can't figure out what's causing this.

So here I am - I've never posted here before, but I'm hoping that someone will read this post and be able to help me out in some way!

When I restart the computer, a box appears, stating: 'Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown'. The box contains these details:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 9f

BCP2: FFFFFA800467B060
BCP3: FFFFF80000B9C4D8

OS Version: 6_1_7600

I tried to attach the dump file to this post, but it says I don't have permission - not sure how to get around this??

Anyway, any help much appreciated!! Thanks

A:Repeated crashes for 2 months

Well first place to start is, is there any correllation to anything your doing? ANy specific program? Or when opening a specific folder?

Or does it seem to be utterly random?

If the latter, the normal thing to do is remove half the ram to see if it goes away, if not swap sticks and try again. Bad ram is a frequent cause of totally random crashes.

Is that a laptop? If so the running memtest86 for several hours may have to be done instead...

Over the past 3-4 months my computer has been having some bad crash issues. I need help determining whether the issue is because of overheating due to having to use my brothers oldstock cooler (which has very little thermal compound on it) or if the problem is driver related.

It all started when I was forced to replace my cpu cooler as it was broken. The only option I had (tight for money) was to use my brothers old stock cpu cooler. It had a little bit of thermal paste on it so I didn't feel like it would be much of an issue. While I was playing CS:GO suddenly my computer crashes, sometimes the sound would loop and sometimes I would get a BSOD. I have read countless forum posts about other people with similar problems but I have had no luck so far. The crashing seemed to become more and more frequent, and eventually the only way I could run my computer consistently without crashes was if I used the integrated graphics to hopefully bottleneck the cpu, and I also changed power plan to power saver. Doing this seemed to have helped - although I do still get crashes. My cpu would be running at 70-80 degrees IDLE. I cleaned a hell of a load of dust out of the cooler and running with integrated graphics/power saver it would run at 30 degrees idle. Despite this, I was still getting crashes, and every now and again I would get a BSOD. Some of the errors I have had include;
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (or something)
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
there are 3-4 more different errors I have had but... Read more

Hi,

I built a desktop along with a friend a few months ago and within days started having issues. We managed to resolve all of his issues and most of mine besides this thread stuck in driver crash. For my friend it was an issue of windows update replacing the graphics card driver with an older one. When we did the same fix for me it reduced the frequency from ~every 2 hours to every few days but obviously hasn't resolved the issue.

I have googled the problem in every way I can and I've tried every single thing I can find. At this point I think it must have to be a hardware problem but was hoping that someone here could look into the crashlogs and see if there is a fix i can do.

I have tried running DDU and reinstalling the latest drivers with no success and everything else is up to date as far as i can figure. Also the specs are attached as well.

Im pretty keen to fix this ASAP so if you need any more info I will supply it as fast as i can.

Cheers, Moldy

EDIT:: also not sure if its related or really what i means but I've experienced 2 red screen crashes

I realize the title of this thread is a little out there, I wasn't quite sure how to best describe what I've been dealing with but, yes, I have been dealing with this issue for multiple months at this point. Anyway, it occurred to me that being able to read dump files might give me some more insight into the problems I've been having. However, try as I might, I have found no resources on how to actually read and decipher these files for myself, just a lot of blog posts and videos about how to generate dump files or read the BSoD as it's actually happening, which is extremely unhelpful, as you might have experienced yourself. So, I decided to bite the bullet and actually make a post on the forums here.

I suspect that the issue is related to my GPU. It's one of the "founding members" of my rig, so to speak, so it's been chugging along for around four and a half years at this point, and I've had some issues over time, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was the problem. Plus, it probably ought to be replaced at this point anyway. But, just in case, I decided to triple check and make sure I wasn't buying something I didn't need. I'd hate to get a new GPU only to still have the same problems, or worse, end up having whatever is causing these problems now ruin my brand new tech.

I'm uploading two different files, I suspect that they are the same but I don't know that for sure. I noticed when I was creating these .zip folders that the DM Log Collector couldn't acces... Read more

I update and save quite a few files each day, and I can see in File History that there are many saved versions for these files.
This would fill up my backup drive fairly quickly, and therefore, I need to reduce 'Keep saved versions' from the default of 'forever' to about 3 months.  But does this mean that all files older than 3 months will be deleted my File History backup?
What happens to all my files that have only ever been saved once, but are older than 3 months?  Are these retained in File History or deleted?
The forums on File History do no make this very clear.

I don't know whether I have a malware problem, or a hard-drive-in-death-throes problem, or what. But I figured it was best to start here, so if it's not a virus I can go over to the XP forum with that ruled out.

Over the past few months my desktop has been steadily driving me nuts. First it began giving me BSODs at random intervals, anything from a day to a month apart. (Currently, about once every three weeks.) The most common error is 0x0000008E, but I've also had 0x00000019, 0x00000024, 0x1000000A, 0x0000004E (PFN_LIST_CORRUPT), 0x0000007F, 0x0000000A (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL), and 0x00000050 (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA). Usually it crashes at startup, but it has taken as much as twenty minutes. I've tried defragging the hard drive, using a registry cleaner, and replacing Sygate firewall (see below) but nothing appears to have worked.

Then Sygate starting occasionally crashing while I was online. I replaced it with PC Tools free firewall, which hasn't had any problems. (Yet...)

Somewhere in the last several months (hard to say whether it was before or after Sygate and the BSODs, it seems to have been creeping up for a while) Firefox developed an increasing tendency to hang. It reached the point where it was basically non-functional for a good quarter hour after connecting. During that time doing anything - maximising or minimising windows, accessing the start menu - took forever. Then Firefox started crashing - constantly. I worked my way through the official trou... Site looks great... But, when you put in OT at work and have a new born at home it's hard to visit your favorite forum.... I had a quicky for the group to help solve - a 3 parter.

1st part - create a user form to display xml data - what is the vba code to display an xml node in a user form text box.

2nd part - create a macro that when run captures the hilighted words in the current PPT slide then displays it in the VBA userform textbox.

3rd part - on the same userform create a button and code that when clicked will add the text from the "selected text" field then add it to the XML doc.

thanks in advance for the input,

A:down for months

I know, being patient is one of the rules, so I apologize in advance. Maybe the title I chose, "down for months" gives the impression that I'm not too interested in resolving this issue - I don't know. I am very interested in getting help with this. I realize this is free voluntary help, and I appreciate that. I noticed that I've had 28 or 29 views, but no one has replied. I'm honestly not trying to seem impatient. Just curious that's all. I have no idea what's wrong with this computer, or how to read that DDS log. My concern is that, since there have been 29 views, I'm assuming those who do know how to read that log have looked at it and decided not to get involved, for whatever reason. If someone who reads the log and doesn't want to help could just leave me a reply saying, "You're screwed - your computer is now an anchor" that would be very much appreciated also.

Thanks again and sorry if I seem impatient. I'm not . . . much

Hi,

I'm fighting a BSOD for about 50 days now, It's happening randomly in different situations for a minimum of two times daily.

I'm suspecting that my memory is the problem (2x2GB Chaintech APOGEE) as it appears in a weird way in Gigabyte easytune (some times appear as one memory module, other times with different frequency and properties for each module).

I ran Memtest86 with one module at a time and there were no errors.

I also ran the Windows 7 Memory test on both modules with no errors.

CPU: Intel i7-930

Mainboard: Gigabyte X58A-UD3R

Display: Geforce GTS 250 1GB

HDD: Seagate 1TB SATA

Windows Version: Windows 7 Ultimate 64

Windows Type: Full Retail

Hardware Age: 2 Months

Windows Age: Around 50 Days (Repaired Two Days ago)

I appreciate any help, This BSOD causes a serious pain & I lost work many times because of it.

Thanks in advance.

Problem Devices:
Code:
Unknown Device USB\VID_0000&PID_0000\5&BE1018E&0&1 43
First thing to do is determine which device the above is pointing to. Do you have your chipset drivers installed?

Security Software: ??? I recommend either of these two setups:Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

Good and Free system security combination.
Download and install the security setup of your choice, update the software, and then run a full scan of your system for viruses and malware. If you only install MSE, I would also suggest installing and updating Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download, but do not start the free trial/full version of Malwarebytes. Run a full scan with Malwarebytes after updating it. Post back the results.

Which ASUS P5K motherboard do you have installed? Please fill in your system specs more accurately by using System Info - See Your System Specs as a guide. Fill the specs in on your profile, not in a post in this thread.

Hi,

I have a computer since 2 years. It is an assembled Intel Celeron D345, 3066 MHZ.
My CPU fan starts creating noise almost every 2 months. The first fan lasted around 10 months but over the last year I have been changing a fan every couple of months. Noise starts, then temperature going above 70 C. At one instance the computer was shutting down due to overheating.

The noise completely disappears after I replace the FAN but for two months.

Can you please tell me how can I resolve this problem for good. The FAN type I get is the only one available in the market.

A:CPU Fan dying every 2 months

I agree with Zenosincks that the fan you are using must be garbage. Most replacement fans are, unless they are ball bearing

3 solutions.

1. Buy from the CPU Manufacturer one of their heatsink/fan combos. This will usually last from 1-2 years.

2. Buy a 3rd party fan solution such as Thermaltake or Zalman. I use a ZeroTherm Silent UFO cooler which pushes 42.8 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) of air through the case on and yet only runs an average of 19 Db, so it is extremly quiet. I have been using this on my homebrew machine for a couple of months now and it is a joy not to hear the fan.

3. On my homebrew gaming machine, I use a vapor phase exchange cooling system to the CPU and GPU. Although I built this myself, there are such packages on the market. They are also known as compressor cooling systems. You can also look for water cooling systems by Zalman Thermaltake or Koolance. Koolance in particular makes a nice system that mounts on the top of the tower, with all the controls at your fingertips.

so a few months ago my laptop randomly began running slow. Nothing was opening and i couldn't connect online. I restarted it and it stayed the same only my laptop wouldn't shut down. I figured it was some form of malware but nothing was picked up when i scanned it. I decided to reset my laptop to it's factory settings but the problem remained.

I was getting help from malwareremoval.com just to be sure there wasn't anything infected on my laptop, which there wasn't and i was referred to this site for help.
so here are my current symptoms

my laptop wont shut down or restart. It wont even go to he windows is shutting down screen, it stays on the desktop (works in safe mode though)

It would start up really slow until i stopped some programs from starting though startup inspector

and i cant update windows. when it automatically updates it gets stuck during the download. When i go to control panel update its get stuck and nothing happens. If i go to windows update the screen turns white and get stuck. I had a bit of success after i used dial-a-fix and managed to get into microsoft update but it jst stayed at the inspecting system part. I've even downloaded xp sp3 from a different site but still does not install.

so im not sure what else i could do so i hope anyone here can help

please and thanks

A:Issue I've had for a few months now

Hi .

System manufacturer and model?

How much RAM installed?

How much free space currently on Windows partition...how large is this partition?

As a start...I suggest running the chkdsk command.

Go to My Computer, right-click on C:, select Properties/Tools tab.

Click the Check Now button under Error Checking, select both options. click Start.

Answer Yes to dialog box which appears.

Reboot the system...the chkdsk command will execute. Upon completion, system will boot into XP.

Hello all. I have recently bought this laptop in February. In the past week it has decided to start crashing on me.... I am not using strenuous software, only youtube, microsoft word and google chrome.  It happens very randomly, the screen will freeze on the current page and then a buzzing noise for 10 seconds will follow. The noise will stop but the screen continues to stay frozen... Only resolved by holding the power button down as both mouse and keyboard are frozen/inactive.  I have searched for solutions.... updating drivers.... reinstalling drivers.... scanning for viruses.... however nothing has come up or resolved this.I am in desperate need of the laptop at the moment due to University deadlines, however the freezing continues to hamper my progress, whilst losing work between saves.  Any solutions would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance! P.S. I do have the HP 1 Year warranty? Aswell as a John Lewis 7 Year warranty.

I am about to change the MB battery for the third time. I'm pretty sure its drained again as if I switch off the mains power to the unit overnight, the system reports checksum error on start up and loads bios defaults. System calendar reverts back to 31 Dec 2005, with duff clock time

If I leave the PC turned off but connected to power socket, everything is fine for the next start up

I have a foxconn 975 MB. Any ideas what could be causing the batteries to drain so soon - should last several years

Probably a fault in the MB, there's not much you can screw up that will do that. I'd be shopping for a new MB.

Hi,
Since 5 months, I got a BSOD when I'm doing some basics things: Looking at Facebook, playing games (even flash games) I've decided after that to make a DualBoot to Windows 8, previously I had Windows 7, There was no BSOD for 3 days, and it began...

What did I make:
Memtest86+ = No errors, runned 4 passes
Tried to use one stick of ram = Worked for almost 1 day.
Swap the sticks of ram in the slots = Worked for 1 month (wtf happened there)
Ran driver verifier = got a blue screen with rdyboost.sys as the error.
Install all the drivers and make updates (Bios, chipset)
I've BSOD while writing this, the error flagged was rdyboost.sys, I think it's the error, but don't know how to delete or deactivate this thing..
Thanks in advice.

Forgot to add : I have this PC since 2 years.

A:Many BSOD since 5 months

I don't have time to look through all of those mini-dumps but the latest ones I have looked at don't seem to be pointing to anything in particular. This might indicate a hardware problem or a buggy/out-of-date driver.

You have some old drivers you should consider updating to Windows 8 64bit versions or un-installing/removing if un-needed:

AtiPcie.sys - ATI PCIE Driver for ATI PCIE chipset or ATI PCI Express (3GIO) Filter Found in my ATI video drivers (I have an Intel chipset) (2009): Driver Reference Table
AsIO.sys - Asus PCProbe Utility: Driver Reference Table (please un-install this and anything related to ASUS Utilities Suite, known BSOD creator)
ASACPI.sys - Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility. Also a part of many Asus utilities: Driver Reference Table (please un-install this, known BSOD creator)
LGBusEnum.sys - Logitech Keyboard: Driver Reference Table
netr73.sys - D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G122 Wireless USB Adapter(rev.C) ** DISCONTINUED **: Driver Reference Table

Please update your AMD chipset drivers:

AMD Chipset Drivers

Remove the drivers related to BSODs above using control panel/un-install.

Update your Logitech Keyboard driver: Keyboards

Not sure about the D-Link Airplus Wireless USB Adapter, there doesn't seem to be a Windows 8 64bit driver for it. It's quite an old piece of gear so I recommend not using it in Windows 8. I recommend un-installing the driver via control panel if possible or disabling it by going into: c:\windows\system32\drivers and renaming the driver to ... Read more

Hi,

Been meaning to write a note here for perhaps some tips and suggestions on what to do to get my 8.0 upgraded successfully to 8.1.

Months ago I was very excited to upgrade as I read of all the great improvements and now there is a note on line that 8.1 will get more upgrades in April.

So I got the banner across my desktop asking me if I wanted to upgrade so eventually I gave in and allowed the process to happen. I was very excited until the final reboot and well... I booted into a very grave mess.

I had NO background image, black screen. No task bar, no icons, only "a cursor in the dark" as I like to call it. Yea, I actually had a cursor I could move around and click but I couldn't "see" what I was clicking on. So upon trying what I could I called up Microsoft and after a while they asked permission to take over my machine and after 4 HOURS we both gave in and I had to do a full reinstall. At least the newer Windows saves all the older stuff in a Windows.old folder so not all was lost but enough to know I didn't want to go through that again.

Apparently the video drivers became corrupt along with Windows Explorer (that's what the MS tech was able to figure out). She was just as amazed as I was.

Anyway, I've laid off the upgrade again in hopes I could get here and ask what it was I should do before trying again? My video drivers are all up to date (as they were the day all that happened). The only thing I had running was the scrip... Read more

Is there a way to turn it from a preview into Windows 8 Pro?
Can I install over it? (and keep everything the way it is: programs, settings, etc.)
Can I continue to use it as a preview or will my computer evaporate into a cloud of smoke if I do that?

Hi all,

Never tried using a forum before so please excuse me if I do something wrong.
I'm desperate.
I built this PC with a little help from a computer savant. He helped me chose the pieces and I put it together. It's about 15 months old. Recently it fried the main SSD from which the OS booted (after 11 months of use). It was of course my fault for filling the SSD more than 80% (I have no computer certifications, I go by instinct most of the time and then learn the hard way) ... so it wouldn't surprise me if I have something to do with the computer failing so much now.
I've also had the feeling that my system has never really ran at full potential.
I think my BIOS settings need seen to as well. It's all on "default", when I think they can be tuned according to the components... but I don't know how to do that

Anyway, I'll do my best to answer and follow the guide you provide;

? OS - Windows 7
? x64
? What was original installed OS on system? Nothing, I built the tower from scratch
? Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? No, pirated version of Windows Ultimate 7
? Age of system (hardware) 15 months
? Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? Twice, because fried the SSD in January-ish this year

About 6 months ago I was infected w Trojan/Vundo and the BC gang helped me get back on my feet. I ran ComboFix, use Ad-Aware, AVG, Malwarebytes, Spybot, Spyware Blaster.

I enjoyed 6 worry-free months and now I'm stuck again. Windows will not complete loading--freezes. I tried to use my windows recovery in safe mode and clicking "next" prompts no further action after I've chosen a previous date. I have done a HJT log in safe mode only.

Symptoms when windows was working still:

Google results were links to other ad sites.
IE would not allow me to go to BC.com and other helpful forums but would allow me to go to youtube, google, yahoo, etc.
Updating Ad-Aware, Spybot, and AVG was not allowed.
Malwarebytes would no longer load (would show to load in the Task Manager but nothing further.)

So I feel frustrated because I can't use any malware/virus programs to clean. And I can't load windows in anything but safe mode.

Any advice would be extremely appreciated. Thank you in advance!!

Hello Tony & welcome,
If you are getting BSOD's & want them analyzed please follow the directions below -

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:
** Until a .dmp file is generated, the Minidump folder may not exist.**

*Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl Press Enter.
*Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
*Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
*Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kb) in the drop down box (the 256kb varies).
*Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
*OK.
Reboot if changes have been made.

My sons sister in-law took her laptop back to the store she bought it from for repair. They said the HDD was bad. The first replacement drive they installed didn't work. They tried another and it worked.....for a while. She has brought it to me out of frustration and it looks like the drive is bad!

It is an Acer laptop. The first time I looked at it the BIOS did not have an HDD listed. I tried Alt-F10 at boot and then the BIOS started to see the drive. When Windows tries to start it says the C: drive needs to be checked and it begins CHKDSK. It fails with "An unspecified error occurred (............ dee).

Could this be a motherboard failure rather than the HDD? 3 drives failing in the space of a few months seems suspicious to me.

Thanks

**WARNING**Unfortunately one or more of the infections I have identified are Backdoor Trojans, IRCBots or other Malware capable of stealing very important information. You need to stop using all Internet Banking sites, change passwords to all sites with sensitive information from a clean computer and phone your bank to inform them that you may be a victim of identify theft. More often than not, we advise users that a full reinstallation of their Operating System is the only way to ensure that their computer will ever be 100% clean again.

Unfortunately I have found what is known as the ZeroAccess rootkit on your system. It is an especially nasty infection that can take quite some time to clean as well as may have damaged your system files itself. As a warning, during the cleaning (if you choose to do so) you may lose internet access with this computer and in the end we may need to reinstall the operating system anyway depending on the extent of the infection.

If you would like to continue with the cleaning, please continue with the following instructions and I will be more than happy to help. ... Read more

BSOD has been happening over the last 4 months. I've tried everything I know of and can't seem to figure it out.

A:BSOD, About 4 months going now.

ASACPI.sys the 2005 version is a huge cause of BSOD's

Quote:
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005)

Code:
ASACPI.sys fffff880`03de6000 fffff880`03dee000 0x00008000 0x42476c4c 28/03/2005 06:30:36
Update UltraMon, it uses an outdated driver http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/

Code:
UltraMonUtility.sys fffff880`05d96000 fffff880`05d9f000 0x00009000 0x491cd006 14/11/2008 05:10:30
Test your RAM, dumps blame memory corruption
RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Code:
BugCheck A, {fffffa7fffffffd8, 2, 1, fffff80002af43a4}

Probably caused by : memory_corruption ( nt!MiUnlinkFreeOrZeroedPage+1ca )

*sigh* OK, here goes:

So I designed and built this PC as a "budget build" for myself and my boyfriend back in October as gaming computers. However, we have identical issues, and after several attempts to fix them after so many months... I must humble myself and ask you guys for help, even if I did something stupid

Specs of my comp are below. As I'm typing this, I'm going through the Mobo guide to see if I really did just get parts that do not match up, but go ahead and point out any red flags.

So. The problem.

I have been blue screening constantly over the past 7 months or so. At least once every day. Whenever I have a blue screen, I have one of two messages pop up; Memory Management, or Page Fault Error. The first one is way more prominent, about 90-10.

I don't get it. I had an IT friend help me put the damn thing together so that I wouldn't do anything stupid, but this keeps happening. I'm almost thinking I have the RAM in the wrong slots in the mobo, but I am unsure if that would make me blue screen once a day (or more).

I have reformatted Win 7 *many* times thinking it was the problem, and I'm at the point where I don't think it's a software issue.

I'm open to all ideas, comments and solutions <3

Thank you!

(I have read the building a comp guide that's stickied at the top, but I must have overlooked something)

EDIT: Just realized that I need to post my specs manually.

I have a simple 8 GB USB storage drive (dane-elec, looks just like this: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41tMIDsGrAL._AA260_.jpg) and have been using it for a long time now. Today I lent it to my friend so he could give me some little game he wanted to share. He put the file on the drive then gave it back to me, and the trouble started. When I put the drive in my computer it said "USB Drive Not Recognized."
I am unable to work around this no matter what I try. My computer is XP and my friend's is 7. I have tried it on both of these and two other XP computers, same error on all of them. All of these I know work using other USB devices, so it is this driver that's the problem. I have tried everything I can think of. The computer's troubleshooting was where I started. I have tried re-enabling it and have uninstalled the driver, though now it is not letting me reinstall, as it doesn't recognize it as what it is in the first place.
After all of this, it is still messed up. I am guessing whatever file my friend gave me got corrupted somehow, but I have never heard of a corrupted file causing this. I know this wasn't his fault, at least purposely. I have looked all over the net, wasting 2 hours trying to find a solution. I hope someone here has one.

To this point, I've replaced the video card and hard drive once, and the RAM twice. So physically it's not any of those.

But I'm still getting crashes when I try to play games, and I can't figure it out. Very frustrating. When I get a crash, it will also crash on startup some of the time.

I would really appreciate some help to get this fixed after months and months of problems!

Windows 7 64 bit (I reinstalled Windows once since installation, but it's off the same installation CD)
OEM version of Windows
Computer is a little over one year old
Reinstalled Windows once, a few months ago I believe

AMD Phenom II x2 (3.1 ghz)
ATI Radeon HD 5670 w/ 2 gigs RAM

You may have a possible virus/rootkit infection. Please read the instructions outlined here on how to scan and remove a rootkit

Please also run a malware scan using a program such as Malwarebytes.

Run a hard drive scan using Seatools

\SystemRoot\SysWow64\Drivers\tcpipBM.SYS has been blocked from loading due to incompatibility with this system. Please contact your software vendor for a compatible version of the driver.
This belongs to Bytemobile Kernel Network Provider for Bytemobile Optimization Client. Is this some sort of software installed on your system. Try browsing to c:\windows\system32\drivers and changing the extension from .sys to .bak. This will prevent it from loading and should eliminate that error.

Hi guys.. well first of all thanks for reading my problem ...
Since about May I have been having problems with my Pc but had been finding ways for it to work somehow but today the same problem that has been going on for 3 months started again... I have a Pentium 4 Pc 1.6GHz 394mb Ram and have Windows Xp Pro installed...

The problem is that many times my computer crashes and runs into a blue screen that states that the file "sys32k.sys" has caused an error and the computer has been shut down... another blue screen that appears states that there is a "memory_management" problem and that the computer was shut down and a third blue scrren that appears says that there was a fatal error and that windows could not be started...

this last blue screen appears only whe starting up windows... and the first 2 while I am usually working or simply while on the desktop...

this is making me NUTS... literally...
I have the theory that my Hard Drive is the one with the problem because I have formatted the drive completely about 10 times and made a clean windows Xp again and the same problem appears or that my windows xp is faulty and doesn't install the file -->"sys32k.sys" correctly... I even changed the motherboard and tested it without the VideoCard I recently bought (which I taught was the original problem) but the same occurs.. I also tried using the recovery console that comes in the Windows XP instalation disc and repairing the current instala... Read more

Hello there.I brought my HP laptop from PC World in Feb, I'm still paying for it through finance. The only stock they had was their display model so I brought that one.The laptop won't turn on anymore. When I plug the power in it flashes white next to the charging hole and that's it. I've tried removing the battery for 60 seconds and re-trying but it doesn't work. Please can somebody help. Thanks

A:Won't turn on - only had for 4 months.

It does still have full HP warranty so if worse comes to worse. You have tried the hard reset which is the easiest thing to try. The only other thing that might be easy to do is check the AC adapter to see if it is putting out power. Take it to any electronics store and they can test it with a voltage meter. If the AC adapter is good I am afraid you have had a catastrophic hardware failure (dead motherboard) which will require warranty replacement.
