I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi all,

I've been holding out for years now and I still can't believe that there aren't more or any manufacturers making good active Bluetooth stylus options for Windows systems.

I'm referring to the likes of the Adonit Pixel, Ink & Slide, or Apple Pencil, which use Bluetooth to relay pressure sensitivity and other data to your system.

What's the bottleneck currently with Windows? Or is it purely lack of interest in the market, where everyone seems to gravitate towards iPads for this sort of thing?

Hi everyone. So I've noticed this subject being touched on for other models but mine doesn't seem to be listed anywhere plus a lot of the posts are a bit older now...I'm looking for an up date on this issue maybe. I'm looking for a stylus or pen that will go with my touch screen device. My goal ideally would be to use illustrator or photoshop to make simple sketches and even illustrations or paintings. So far a few styli I have tried don't work. The dollar store rubber tip one will draw a wobbly line which is useless while a more expensive Adonit Jot Pro with a clear disk on the tip...hardly manages a continuous line at all.  It also doesn't help that the Lenovo site doesn't list ANY accessories for my device along the lines of pens/styli and half the time the site tells me I have a Thinkpad and half the time it's an Ideapad. And sometimes my model isn't even listed at all anywhere on the accessories drop down! This is my first time switching to a non-mac/apple product and so far I have to say I'm really not too impressed but still hopeful things will work out. My Yoga 700 came out of the box with driver issues as well as a desperate need for a firmware update that would fix ghost touch screen tap issues that kept closing windows... But I guess those can just be called growing pains. I would really like to make full use of my touch screen so I'm looking for a pen or stylus with pressure sensitivity and palm rejection that integrates with illustra... Read more

I've just purchased two Dell e7470 laptops with the 14 inch QHD (2560x1440) Touch Screen. Although having a stylus is not critical, I'd like to know what my options are. I don't know enough about these systems to know what type stylus to buy (capacitive, Wacom or Bluetooth).  I was using a Surface Pro 4 and enjoyed that stylus (Bluetooth and Wacom, I believe).  We've discarded the Surface Pros - awful reliability!  I'm not an artist, but like to annotate docs and do an occasional sketch. I mainly use the stylus as a mouse. Any wisdom?  Thanks in advance!

I have the same question. I was told the Dell Passive Stylus http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=750-AAFJ might work but it specifically says it is for the Inspiron 7000. Unfortunately I have already purchased this computer not realizing there might not be a descent stylus option.

Hello, I just bought a Targus stylus (http://targus.com/us/stylus-for-tablets-and-smartphones-black-amm01tbus) to use with my HP Spectre x360. Unfortunately it doesn't work very well with the touchscreen; I have to press it so hard that the screen wobbles back and forth. I find this strange because it is very sensitive when I use my finger; a light touch is enough. Is there a setting where I can remedy this? I tried Calibrate, but it seemed to only calibrate for location, not sensitivity. Or, would anyone recommend a specific stylus other than the HP Active Stylus? I just want a simple, non-battery-operated stylus to use to draw and take notes without smudging my screen with fingerprints. Thank you,Chuck

I need to know if there is a stylus I can use which looks and feels quite like a pen, I don't like the compressible rubbery feel of some stylus, they are not smooth enough.

A:Which stylus should I use with my Inspiron 15r touch laptop? Will a 'Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel' work with it?

Hi Shaurya,Welcome to Dell community.
Yes you can use stylus pen with this system.
15z has 15.6" LED-Backlit LCD Capacitive Multi-touch screen, so you can use Targus Stylus with this system which Dell recommends. For further help you can click on the below mentioned link:
http://bit.ly/VoK4ml
The Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel is the newest stylus from Wacom that a user in that forum said works well. The site, http://bit.ly/WSqVAQ  , says it's compatible with the Latitude 10. Technically, any of the non-battery (somehow powered wirelessly by the tablet) powered Wacom stylus should work.
Please reply me if you need any further help.

Hi everybody, I'm looking for a solution to draw/take notes on my lenovo yoga 13. Laptop's screen is capacitive, no digitizer, so I'm wondering what kind of stylus/pen can work with it. I'd like to have a pen with pressure sensitivity, but based on my research I couldn't find one that works for sure.Is there an active pen with bluetooth that can actually write on this screen? Or any active pen for that matter?Otherwise I'm stuck with those lame capacitive pens that are everything but accurate, even the bamboo solo doesn't work with it.Any ideas? Hi, My touchscreen randomly stopped working the other week and I have no idea if it's some sort of keyboard shortcut I accidentally hit or what... I tried to calibrate it under the "Pen and Touch" section of the Control Panel and nothing worked (it didn't recognize my touch at allk to even TRY and calibrate it).  Then I tried Right-clicking the "HID-compliant touch screen" section of the "Human Interface Devices" drop-down tab of my Device Manager, and nothing worked-- I even tried to "Disable" the touch screen and then re-Enable it, but that didn't work.  I also ran a check for an updated driver I may have needed but didn't get when my computer automatically upgraded to Windows 10, but it said that "my touch screen driver was up to date" (which I had a feeling would be the result since my Windows 10 upgrade was months ago and my touchscreen worked fine until just last week... unless my anti-spyware programs: Spybot Search and Destroy and Malwarebytes, somehow disabled it...?).  I even tried turning on "Tablet mode" to see if that would work, but nada.  Finally, I figured maybe I accidentally hit some sort of setting that would disable touchscreen while my wireless mouse was on, but touch STILL didn't work when I turned off my mouse. ======> PLEASE HELP ME!!!  Thanks!!!

I've had my Lenovo ideapad Flex 15 for just over a year now, so I guess this is the time at which things start going kerplooey. Today my touchscreen started going haywire, clicking rapidly and repeatedly in one random spot in the top left corner of my screen, so fast I couldn't use my touchpad to get the cursor away from the spot. After closing and reopening the computer, the problem stopped momentarily but then came back. I rebooted and when Windows restarted I received a pop up that "Windows Mouse and Keyboard Center has stopped working." The problem returned shortly after, and now my touchscreen has stopped working altogether. Can anyone help me?

A:Ideapad Flex 15 touchscreen woes

Update: The problem is now intermittently returning. If I close my laptop and reopen it, it seems to disable the touchscreen for a period of time so that I'm able to actually use my computer for a bit before it starts feverishly attacking that one area of the screen. All instructions I've found online to disable the touchscreen haven't worked... I'd love to have it functioning again though. Help?

Press Windows+X.
- Select Device Manager.
- Find the Touchscreen driver under Mice and Other Pointing Devices>USB Touchscreen Controller(A111).  You're going to uninstall this and check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device".  Don't worry, it won't blow up your computer.

I've had my ideapad (flex 15 20309) for about 2 years and was working fine. Around 5 months ago I noticed my touchscreen wouldn't work any more. Sometimes after a reboot it would seem to come back to life but now I can't figure out what is going on. I seem to have Microsoft Windows 10 home as the operating system. I can't find any setting or keystroke or anything that can get my touchscreen back to life. Help! My touchpad (mousepad) works fine and I'm using a USB mouse as well because I don't like using the mousepad. The only thing I think has changed in the last 5 or 6 months was probably windows 10 and the regular updates that are done via windows 10.

I  have an Ideapad Flex 15.

Since I upgraded yesterday to Windows 10, I have lost the touchscreen ability I had up to that point on Windows 8.1. On search for pen and touch, I was given this message on a system information page: "No pen or touch input is available for this display." I have looked in device manager under Human Interface Devices. Expanding the view to show hidden devices, I see "HID compliant touch screen." When I click to get device status, this is the message:

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

How do I do that? I note a similar problem in Windows 8.1 on this posting:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-hardware/touchscreen-not-working/c48cda2...

Does anyone have any idea how to reconnect the hardware device -- or at least to solve this problem? Thanks!

To resolve the touchscreen issue follow below steps.1. Open Device Manager and uninstall all that start with HID- under Human interface devices.2. Restart the system and see if that works. Also perform a Power Drain. If the battery is removable, remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec. Turn the computer back on and check now if touchscreen is working fine.

So today (June 16, 2012) my stylus pen on my laptop has stopped working. I have a IBM ThinkPad Lenovo X41(T?) laptop with a stylus pen. Everything else is okay except for the stylus...

Also, if it was a key I pressed on accident (I think I did... oops?), what key on the keyboard will reset it back to normal? Thanks!

Hello, I bought a HP Beats Special Edition 15-p030nr Notebook PC two years ago. This laptop comes with touchscreen display, and I used it for a while but then I disabled it and I can't remember where did I found this option to disable it. The thing is, now I want to enable it again, but I can't find the option, and the information of my computer has changed, when I go to settings - about; it displays all my computer's information like the serial number, the pc's name, etc, and then it says pen and touch, and there it says 'no pen or touch input is available for this display'. I don't understand how this could have happened, maybe it's a driver that's missing? I've searched everywhere, and when I go to the device manager, in human interface devices I don't have the 'HID-compliant touch screen'. It doesn't exist in my list.  I hope you can help me with this issue, I apologize for any grammar mistake, english's not my first language. Thank you.

Hi, so I have a Dell Inspiron i3147 (11.6 inch) 2-in-1 running windows 10. For the past few months, the touch screen freaks out at random times. In the upper left corner, it looks as if someone is tapping the screen repeatedly, and with several fingers, making the entire computer unusable, since the cursor is constantly getting redirected to the corner. Usually, when I restart the computer, the issue goes away, however, lately (past week or so), I have to restart four or five times before it finally works.Around the same time, it started running unbearably slow. Now, I'm not sure if this is an infection issue, or a hardware issue, so please feel free to correct me if it seems this topic is in the wrong thread. Thanks in advance!

This can be as bad as a failing board or as easy as a bit of oil/grease in the wrong spot - but very unlikely it is an infection.  Do a thorough cleaning with an alcohol pad designed for monitors first to get any grime that may have built up -- then consider taking it to a repair shop for a (hopefully) free diagnostic if the machine is not under warranty.

For the last few days I have been having issues with the touch screen on my HP pavillion laptop. Why is my screen flashing white bubbles, white streaks and moving icons all around, shrinking/expanding my icons and jumping from one screen to another? It makes my laptop inoperable having to cold-boot it and restart.
