I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi everyone, I bought this laptop about 3 months ago and I'm loving it so far. But every so often the keyboard would just stop working and when I try shutting it off, it would go through the entire shutting off process and the screen goes black but all the lights and fan would still be on. I am then forced to hold the power button down to force it off. When I restart the computer instead, it would take me to the blue screen where it would say "Windows has ran into an unexpected error" then the screen would turn black again and everything else would be on. Anyone have any idea or solution to what's going on? Thanks in advnace!

Hi All I have a Flex 5 with the following specs - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=email&A=details&Q=&sku=1363042&is=REG 14 inch screen940MX 8GB RamIntel Core i5-7200U Dual-Core I'm not expecting desktop level performance by any means, but when I play Overwatch on my laptop, it gets very hot and I only get around 45 FPS on the lowest graphics settings (1080p).  Is this normal?  I would have thought I could get 60 FPS no problem as Overwatch is pretty well optimized.  I can even play PUBG a bit on this computer though I prefer not to.  I can lower the res as a next step but I thought i would check to see if I am missing something. I had an older Lenovo that had a hardware switch to go between integrated graphics and dedicated graphics.  I haven't seen anythign like that on this computer.  Am I accidently trying to play on the integrated graphics card? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Does anyone have any problem on playing Blade and Soul with Ideapad Y700 (Intel Core i5-6300HQ, 8GB, 1TB HDD + 128GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M, Windows 10)? I do not much problem playing other games (Tera, Aion, NFS, and etc) on this laptop but this is the only game that I have trouble playing. I personally, do like this laptop and it is value gaming laptop, so I should not expect much from it. But it runs other games perfectly... I tried changing the Nvidia 3d setting to high performance but I still get low FPS (30~40), even with the lowest setting.  Is this laptop not capable of playing this game or what is the problem? If you have any solution, please share with me.

hello to all lenovo y700 owners.i bought a lenovo y700 (256 ssd-16gb-i7-gtx960m 4gb) about a month ago, iam new to gaming laptops, i usually game on consoles (i own a ps4). my first impression of lenovo y700 was positive ( i did not try to game on the laptop) when i did try to play ,my fist pc game was soma the first hour of the game was great but then the game stoped being smoothe. i stoped playing the game and bought a new game to try so i bought the new tomb raider. my fps on low and medium settings where unstable between 40 -60 not playable by my standards, the game was far from being smooth even on the lowest settings. so i tried dying light (demo) worked terrible. then i bought alien isolation the only game that worked ok. my driver is up to date , nvidea control panel is under high performance nvidia processor (control panel- shows my gpu gtx960m) im starting to think that lenovo y700 is more a scame then actually being called a gaming laptop. the only reason i am writing this is to check with other lenovo y700 owners how there experience is with this laptop, maybe im doing something wrong.

My PC technician broke my old Y570 (5 years+) while he was trying to fix the heat issue last week ugh, well I was thinking of getting a new one anyways and hope Lenovo improved their thermal cooling over the past years. I heard many throttling and heat issues with the Lenovo Y700 15', but I'm afraid if I should buy it or not. I need real input from consumers, not their representatives.  If I buy it, my friend want to trade his Y700 15' (i7-6700hq, 4GB 960m, and 256GB SSD) for a my Y700 15' (i5-6300hq, 2GB 960m, and 1TB HDD+128GB SSD). Both are non-touch, he bought his a while back (I think his specs were discontinued). I don't know if he has heating issues, but he doesn't play games much. I guess he just want the i5-6300hq because it produces less heat. I play games for hours and expect no CPU or GPU throttling due to heat which I heard from this laptop. So If anyone is a long term consumer of this laptop, do you recommend it for extended periods of gaming?  (Especially heat issues, I can hold back the trade and use the i5-6300hq model if heat is a problem)

Ok, First off, I've read multiple posts here related to a similar issue. People point at the graphics (Intel or NVidia) or CPU temp, etc. The only common thread is many, many Y700 (and perhaps other model) owners have this same, unacceptable problem. I have read and done almost everything suggested in these posts. I have the latest bios, I have the latest Lenovo solution center recommended updates, etc. It's not CPU temp, it's a 2-3 second pause while the Hard Drive (HDD) accesses information, sound OR video. Secondly I have spent over 40 hours (nights and weekends) trying to get what I consider a workable, playable laptop to no avail. I have gone in and closed unnecessary background programs to free up memory, nothing helps. I've rolled back drivers, deleted and re-installed drivers. Nada. It's a hard drive accessing issue, audio or video, that's initiatating this stutter/lag for 2-3 seconds. It needs to be fixed, or Lenovo needs to stop billing this as a "gaming laptop." Customers should not have to invest this time into a product to get it to actually work for the purpose for which it was both sold and bought. I have had this thing for three months, and it is a gaming lemon. It'll run word processing and spreadsheet programs quite well, the keyboard is nice, the display is acceptable, but it is not performing as a gaming laptop, period, end of story. If this omnipresent stutter/lag/freeze issue isn't resolved, it'll never perform as a gaming laptop, and... Read more

Hello My lenovo y700 is brand new and it has been on really small usage (mainly weekends, when i travel) My problem is that on almost any game, there is this "line" going from top left corner to bottom right corner of the screen and itīs only visible when I move the camera. Things I have tried:I allways make sure that the latpot is using gtx 960m as GPU while playing.Enabling/disabling vertical sync and triple buffering, both from ingame-settings and from nvidia control panelLet Nvidia Experience optimize gamesettings Has anyone encountered this kind of issue and perfahp found a solution? Or do the ones, who are wiser than me, have some tip I could try? Or should I send it in for repairs under warrancy? Thanks.

Like the title says, my computer randomly shuts off while running games. First noticed while experimenting with Aion, a few days later it also occurs with Star Wars: The Old Republic, something it hadn't done before.

The program files don't include any duplicate files (which I thought may be a problem. Aion did have a duplicate initially, and the deletion of this file appeared to fix the problem, though it returned the next day.)

Further research has indicated that the CPU maybe overheating, or the the PSU is failing. I'm not "techy" enough to know if it is the PSU, so I thought I'd ask for help.

Additionally, when the computer shuts down, there is no warning, just a black screen and then the keyboard lights and fans stop running roughly 5s afterwards.

Attached is the Speccy file of my computer's current state.

Hi,I have very big issue with my lenovo laptop. It's basically very very unstable, I never had such unstable computer before. Sometimes with old bios it was freezing with wired green mesh on screen (especially after playing games): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw45HVu20nK6dkl1SEMtbUhIcGM/view?usp=sharing or rebooting for no reason. Now with new bios it's just freezing. It happens once every 3-4 weeks and I'm not using my laptop a lot. It's not overheating for sure. Do you think this is hardware issue? Hello Lenovo, I recently bought ( Aug-2016 ) a Lenovo Y700 15.6" laptop with the 16 GB variant. When I opened the laptop and started the windows, the first thing I noticed that, the screen is dimmer on the right side and bright on the left side. It is not easy noticeable but it bothers me a lot sometimes when the screen is completely WHITE. Only then it is easy to identify the brightness issue. I am not sure if this is how backlit LED IPS panels work, but will be happy if anyone from Lenovo can clarify it.  The brightness just fades from centre to the right side of the screen, but the fade is very minute it is not easily captured on the pic to share. My query is, should I be bothered ? Should I get Lenovo team to check it ? Or is it anyother way to reproduce the issue in a better way to take a decision as to ask for support ? Awaiting your inputs.

I have a lenovo Y560p and sometimes while playing league of legends my computer randomly shuts down. i believe it may be because my Gpu is running too hot. It runs at around 57-59c idle and about 85-87c while playing. is this a possible reason or these unexpected shut downs?

A:Lenovo Y560p random shut downs

Overheating is indeed the likely cause of the shutdowns. Buy a can of compressed air and blow out all the vents and fans. If that doesn't help you may have to invest in a cooling pad for the laptop.

Hello, So I have an issue with my computer that involves randomly shutting down whenever I play a game after booting up my computer. About 20-30 minutes, I will suddenly lose control of my character for a second and then it turns off without any notification. These random shutdowns will also happen occasionally when browsing the internet or watching YouTube videos. What happens is that the computer will immediately freeze for a split second and then turn off. I have had this laptop for 3 years now and this technical issue occured about a year ago. I've sent in my laptop to lenovo about three times for other fixes but my computer will still end up shutting down by itself. I have investigated multiple solutions to this issue and none have worked at all. I've turned off fast start-up. Also, I will most of the time put my computer to sleep when I'm not using it. I don't know if it may be a BIOS-related issue and if it is I don't know how to upgrade or downgrade my BIOS. Can someone help me with this issue as it's really ruining my experience with Lenovo.

There isn't a way to manualy turn off the fans. Keep your laptop well ventilated in a cool place, and choose a power plan different than "High Performance". If your laptop gets cool enough, it will stop the fans

I read that its because its not compatible with Windows 10. So here is my question. My Y700-15isk is plugged in and when I roll over the battery icon on the taskbar is says "74% and not charging". Is this conervation mode? Why isn't the laptop fully charging? If I am about to go on the road for example, wouldn't it make sense that my battery is able to charge up to 100%? Anyone shed any light on Lenovo's logic?

Dear Lenovo Staff,I'm experiencing multiple issues running Ubuntu on Lenovo Y700-17ISK laptop:https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Linux-Discussion/Problems-running-Ubuntu-on-Lenovo-Y700-17ISK/td-p/3278... At the end, I installed Windows 10 alongside with Ubuntu 16.04 only because of BIOS updating.During the last month or two, it was impossible to find any BIOS file on 'Y700-17ISK Laptop - Lenovo Support' web page.Today I finally found a new BIOS update file: Released 7/18/2016, Version CDCN35WW. But when - hoping to solve problems running Ubuntu on Lenovo Y700 - I attempted to install this latest BIOS update file through Windows 10, I got the following error message: "the version of ROM file is the same as that of BIOS". And then I found this forum post (05-18-2016):"Please be advised that Lenovo is in the process of removing the BIOS CDCN35WW for ideapad Y700-15ISK, Y700 Touch-15ISK, and Y700-17ISK laptops in response to customer reports that the software does not execute as expected. Once the issue has been corrected, CDCN35WW or a newer version of the BIOS will be made available". Once the issue has been corrected, CDCN35WW version of the BIOS will be made available again????????So I downgraded my BIOS CDCN35WW to BIOS CDCN30WW, and after that I installed again BIOS CDCN35WW - everything went well, but now my BIOS shows it is CDCN30WW version??? I would be very grateful for any help, thanks in advance.

I'm running a lenovo T500 thinkpad, and it's relatively new - that is, I bought it last winter - but recently, I've been having what seems to be a hardware problem. Or, at least, that's what the guys over in the Virus and Malware removal section are telling me:

Because from time to time, my laptop has decided it's just going to go ahead and shut itself down. Completely. No lights, no nothing - pressing the power button doesn't do anything. I almost always have it plugged into a socket, and that light won't show either - I've found that taking the battery out of the laptop and letting it sit for a little before putting the battery back in usually gets the laptop to work again.

It's only happened recently, but it's happened twice in the past week - which is a little more than bothersome, since the antivirus I have runs a full scan when it happens.

I've noticed that my laptop gets a little hot - not too hot that I can't touch it - but as far as I know, I've never had a problem with overheating or anything similar, which leaves me in the dark about this entire thing.

I'm really hoping that this doesn't turn out to be a hardware problem; I should still be on warranty, but I'm a little - okay, that's a lie, I'm pretty damn - scared to try and open up my laptop and fiddle with anything.

Hope this is enough information for someone out there to give me some sort've idea of wha... Read more

I have this 3000 N100 laptop for over a year now with no problems (except the lousy battery which died in 6 months and I'm running on A/C since then). Last week I started laptop and this shutdown problem started appearing. System would start normally and then would suddenly power itself in 2/3 minutes (most of the times, but sometimes in runs for 2-4 hours before shutting itself down)I checked the fan and processor. Nothing is heating up.I changed processor. Even then it'd go down.I have made the fan DIRECT (always ON) but the system still shuts down.I tried hmonitor but it only reads HDD temprature which is 36-40C - I guess very normal. Now I wonder where the problem may lie. Is it motherboard? What part of board might be getting heat? Or is it actually heat? Or do I need to get certain parts (capacitor, I/C or something) on Motherboard replaced? Any help? Comments? Hi guys, I bought this laptop as per description, I bought it refurbished since I wanted a cheap and light laptop to carry around. The laptop worked flawlessly for 8-9 month then suddenly it started to have problems. At the beginning it started to freeze when using it (screen freezes and that's it), I had to power it off with the power button and then restart it.After 2-3 months of this it started to refuse booting, sometimes it boot, sometimes it doesn't; all the LED are on (power and HD) but the screen is off, it doesn't even show the BIOS screen. The laptop boot about 30% of the times I try to start it, the other 70% nothing but the LED as described above, sometimes it freezes during use but again all of this is completely random, I have no idea why it happens. What I know is this:- I'm pretty sure it's not the LCD panel, I tried to connect an external monitor but it's the same erratic behavior all over again- I'm pretty sure it's not the HD since I tried with a new one, same story...- According to he LENOVO user manual it can be one of these two things (in order of probability): 1 RAM Failure - 2 Motherboard failure. Well, I hope it's the RAM of course (because it's 30 Euros and easy to change), if it's the MB I can pretty much kiss it goodbye because it would be cheaper to buy an other one than buying the MB.Now it has been working for two hours running Memtest86+ to test the RAM, I'm already at the second pass but it detected no errors: "Pass com... Dear community, I've recently bought a Lenovo Legion (Y520-15IKBN 80WK00U8MH) And since I've got this laptop I have experienced a lot of problems with it.As I understood this is a gaming laptop but it really doesn't look like it. I've got so many problems but the biggest one is that the laptop only has only 1 jack, so I've got to choose, use the sound or microphone cable of my headset, I've tried using sound from my headset and sound from the built-in microphone from my laptop, but the mic quality is so **bleep**, I paid 1200 EUR for this laptop and the makers can't even afford to build in a good quality microphone. Also when I plug out my headset and plug it in then there comes no sound from my headset, I've updated all my drivers but it didn't fix it, I have to restart my laptop everytime to plug my headset in again. Also, I can't use multiple buttons on my keyboard, I understood that this is a GAMING LAPTOP but I can't use w+shift+z, the button z doesn't work, I have to let go shift or w to let z work, **bleep** is that for bull**bleep**? a 3-key rollover in a 1200 EUR gaming laptop. Has anyone suggestions how I can fix the main problems, I can live with the small laptop problems, but I regret buying this laptop. Thanks!

I have a Dell I don't know what. But it has Windows Vista... Uhmmm I don't know why but it keeps randomly shutting down. Is it overheating? When I try to turn it on again, it turns on perfectly so that's why I didn't think that it was overheating... I'm not a computer/laptop expert so I don't know what to do! I honestly do not want to spend money to get it fixed if there is a simple solution behind this!

HELP
my laptop has started to randomly shutdown...!

No warning or alert just switched off...
I have run every virus scan that i know and there is nothing...
Could it be the temperature cos it sure does get hot!

I have noticed that the fan sems to be running for a long time to but it may be that i have only just noticed.

Please, any advice!?!!
I am trying to finish my OU degree and I have to keep on restarting my work and saving every 20 seconds!!!

If the fans seem like they run for a long time, I would check to make sure the vents are clean without any obstructions, dirt, etc. Also make sure where ever you place the laptop that you are not blocking the vents.

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a new laptop and am deciding to go with the lenovo y520 80WK004UMH.Before I want to buy the laptop, I want to know a few things: - Is in mine model an m.2 slot available for an SSD upgrade and is it available in every lenovo y520 model?- Does any upgrades void the warranty?- What do you think of the gtx 1050 4gb card? Is it good enough to run most modern games on it, I don't expect them to play everything at ultra mode, but I'm pretty satisfied to play most games 60 fps on medium to high.- Has the i7 7700HQ a huge benefit for increase in gaming performance or is the i5 7300HQ fine? And yes, the more you spend, the better you'll get, the more future proof your laptop is. I'm kinda short on money, so I won't be able to go over ?1000,00 euro's. Thank you! Best regards, TheClient

A:My lenovo s510p laptop doesn't shut down completely

Hi Has1988,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Can you describe how it would not shutdown completely?

Go to Control panel and choose Power options.
Under System Settings, click on Change settings that are currently unavailable.
Ensure Power button settings are set to shutdown.
Look at the Shutdown settings and uncheck the box for Turn on fast start up.
Save changes and shutdown.

Another option is to go to Device Manager.
Under system devices right click on Intel Management Interface and choose properties.
Choose the Power Managent tab and uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Hello, I would like to preface this by saying that I have spent a lot of time trying to figure this out myself and I would greatly appreciate your help. My laptop is a Lenovo Yoga (Machine Type Model 20CDX00) that has problems with shutting down and sleeping sometimes. The problem started after I restored my laptop with a clean copy of windows 10.  I installed all of the drivers and I also updated my BIOS.  I noticed that sometimes my laptop would not shut down completely and the battery would just drain in the blank screen that I couldn't do anything about.  This also happened with sleep to.  Not all the time, but sometimes.  I tried to turn of hibernate and also fast start-up.  But, that did not work.  I, then, restored my computer again and I tried to reset the BIOS to the original BIOS.  I am still having these problems even after the restore which makes me believe that the BIOS is at issue becuase it is ROM and would not have been changed by my restoring of the laptop.  But, I did try to reset the BIOS to a previous version.  So, I am stuck and I do not know what to do.
