Can't sync iPas/iPod with Outlook

I have an iPad 2 and Outlook 2003. Outlook won't sync with my iPad..

However, they will sync on another computer. Then I can clear the iPad calendar and then sync to main computer but the old calendar info syncs.

Outlook/ my computer seem to be holding on to the old calendar info in some kind of cache.

Any ideas?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have no problem syncing the latter with iCloud, works like a charm e.g contacts. calendars etc.

But, trying to sync these two two devices with the 365 Outlook seems impossible.

I have Googled the earth for it and whilst there are numerous responses saying it can easily be done, no way have I been able to get it to work!

As a matter of fact, most of the responses give instructions that are simply not available on my versions of Outlook!

Is it possible folks? And if so, how do I do it it? I was 99% sure I could do it back before I got Office 365 Outlook but now no more!

Many thanks

Hi everyone!

What is the best way to sync my emails, contacts, and calendar with my Outlook 2010 (win7 pc), iPhone, and iPad2?

Basically, I want to send/receive emails to all devices, and update my calendar and contacts on my Outlook, and then have my iOS devices update automatically be synced with my Outlook contacts and calendar, and vice versa.

I've used Microsoft Exchange in the past to do this, but it seems like over kill... and it's a little overcomplicated for me. I was hoping I could just do all this with Gmail, but it seems that I need MS Exchange to do it that way too.

Any help and advice is very appreciated!!!
I'll be on the forum all day, so let me know if I need to clarify what I'm asking.

Thank you!!

I will start at the beginning, it has been a frustrating couple of days since I had to reformat my hard drive.

I reformatted and reinstalled Windows XP Pro sp1. I put the Microsoft firewall up to get the MS updates, and then I reinstalled Norton. I have a bug in my system that seems to be contained, for now that is.

I reinstalled office XP, and then i downloaded the update (SP3). I am not getting an alert that says that something is trying to get access to my Outlook contacts. I assume that it is my Hotmail account (yes, I do have the ability to download). I get the alert, click "OK" four or five times, and then Outlook locks up.

When I reformatted, I lost the software Sprint gave me to sync my Samsung i500 with Outlook. When I contacted them, they said tough, I had to buy more software. Frustrated, I broke down and bought Chapura. Now, I am probably so frustrated that I cannot get it started to sync even once.

Microsoft is now ignoring my requests for help to gain access to MSN mobile through my handheld. Does anyone have any infomration on how to get to msn mobile even though mobile.msn.com does not take me to a personalized homepage to get my information?

I am an intermediate user, so I know my way around a bit. I have a hijack this log available, as well as a Belarc run. Let me know if you need anything to help me with this problem. I am just frustrated.

Thanks.

Sync Window Live Mail client & Ipad/iphone calendar

I have been asked to setup a calendar synchronisation between a Windows Livemail client, and iphone and ipad

They are already using WLM client on PC connected to thier own domain for email, which has NO calendar sync possible , so i cannot change the client software

So i decided the easiest thing was to create a live mail account (outlook.com) and use that to sync all the calendars

Outlook.com account (set up specially for this sync) and synced from the windows live mail client to the outlook.com calendar and that all worked very well
WLM Client to ipad and iphone all worked

i do however have an issue

I setup the ipad and iphone using the hotmail option - I possibly should have chosen the exchange option

The issue an event created on the ipad or iphone calendar event is not synced back to the outlook.com / WLM calendar ,but they do sync with each other all OK

WLM ==> oulook.com === > ipad ==> iphone
all work that way

ipad ==> iphone OR iphone ==> ipad
all work ok

iphone/ipad created event == Does NOT update ==> wlm/outlook.com

if i setup an event in the WLM calendar, which syncs to all devices, I can then delete the event via the ipad or iphone - it is deleted from the WLM/outlook.com calendars - so the ipad/iphone is talking back to the outlook.com calendar for a delete action.

so what does not work is just that

an event created on ipad or iphone does not sync back to the WLM clie... Read more

i have solved the issue , and a really silly issue
I played today at my mother-in-law who has an ipad

and it all comes down to not selecting the correct calendar - i had not noticed birthdays was also selected
so i changed the new account to a Exchange account setting , and also notice i need to enter the info incorrectly first to then get prompted to enter the m.hotmail.com information

set the account up for just calendar
Set the calendar as default

and al works

just means she will only have 1 calendar , if she wants to sync between all devices

I am running Outlook 2003. I have a POP3 account connected to a 3rd party email hosting company. I also have another MS Exchange email account. I also use ActiveSync to sync my POP3 to my PDA.

I want my 2 email calendars to sync with each other so both calendars look exactly the same. It had been doing this on its own on the initial setup of both email accounts, but it has since stopped.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do this from within Outlook? Like I said, on the initial setup, it just auto-magic-ally did it. I had to uninstall/re-install ActiveSync and since then it has not been working.

Hi All,

I have an idea and I'd really really like people's thoughts about it.

I want to sync my .pst files between my desktop and laptop and have been trying to find a solution for ages (that does not cost me anything that is ).

I sync my emails with Yahoo using POP3.

My idea is this.

1. move the default location of my .pst and archive .pst to a specific shared folder on my PC, and then ensure that outlook 2003 can still find it and won't want to redownload all my emails held on the Yahoo server.

2. setup outlook 2003 on the laptop and again move the default location of the .pst and archive .pst to a specified shared folder. (I want to be able to access the yahoo POP3 server with outlook on the laptop, again without having to worry about all my old emails being redownloaded)

3 use synctoy 2 to sync the .pst file and archive .pst files over my network.

I am hoping that if I get it right I can download emails, change the calendar, complete a task or whatever in either copy of the .pst file, then just hit sync with synctoy and voilą - both .pst files are up to date.

What do people think?

I have never used sync toy and when I've tried do things with .pst files in the past I end up downloading all my old emails again. I don't delete them from the server when I download them, as I like to know they're safe.

Will.

Somehow I ended up with two folders in my Outlook Contacts. I have no idea how long ago the second one was formed, or why I did it, but just imagine the mess I created over at least the past year when I tried to sync my Outlook Contacts with "Card Scan" business card reader and my HTC Incredible phone using DejaOffice and went back and forth among the 3.

One of the folders is named "Contacts" and the other is named "Contacts in Personal Folders." The problem is that I did not realize that they both existed and thus I never knew when I switched (somehow) from one to the other during the above mentioned syncs.

Here is where I am now. I printed out all of the remaining contacts (many have been lost because of the mix and match syncing) from both folders and after examining them, made them equal. The information in "Contacts" is the same as that in Contacts in Personal Folders." Now what I want to do is eliminate one of these and then let the remaining Contact folder override the card scan and DejaOffice programs so all 3 are equal. My questions are:

1. How do I eliminate one of the Contact folders and which one should it be?
2. How do I make sure that the remaining Contact folder is the one I have been backing up each time I shut down Outlook or will the next backup take care of that?

Sometimes I feel pretty good when I resolve a program problem, etc. but right now I feel dumber than a tree stump.

Yesterday, my Outlook (2010) stopped retrieving e-mail from the Comcast server.  When I tried to fix it today, it still wouldn't work.  All the settings were correct, but it wouldn't retrieve my e-mail.  I deleted the account and recreated it.  Now, Outlook points to a new .pst file instead of my old Outlook.pst file, named [email protected]  To make matters worse, it doesn't delete the mail off the server.  Before, when I would open Outlook, it would download new message to my Inbox and delete them off the server.  The new messages would stay permanently in my Outlook inbox.  No more.  Now if I manually delete one through my Internet browser, it also deletes it out of my Outlook Inbox.  It’s as though the new account is just a window to the Comcast e-mail server.  I tried changing the Root Folder Path on the Advanced tab of the e-mail account settings to point to the location of my Outlook.pst folder, but that made no difference.  I also tried deleting a recent Microsoft update (KB3054976), but this did not help, either. This is a complete disaster for me, as I can't even send e-mail now, except through the server.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

A:Outlook 2010 e-mail account won't sync to Outlook.pst file

I figured this out.  When I reconfigured my e-mail account in Outlook, I used IMAP settings instead of POP3.  This was not how I did it before.  IMAP works great if one wants to keep all e-mail out on the server and access it from various devices.  That isn't what I do.  I changed the profile to POP3 and the poblem was solved.  Still don't know why it initially failed two nights ago, though.

I have used my Office Outlook 2016 syncing with my Msn.com email for years, and as of 10/12/16, my outlook started to have issues. Nothing I did on the outlook synced up with the online emails nor anything that attacked that account (my iPad/iPhone) but whatever I did on those reflected.

For example, I deleted out my junk on Outlook, and it would not reflect that change, but I was still getting new emails into my Outlook.

I tried a couple of things, then removed my msn.com email, and restarted. When I tried to reconnect back to my email, (add email) it would always restart office outlook. Has done this every single day, though I can retrieve and do everything from my apple products or through the online Outlook (aka outlook live). But since I have tons of windows open, I don't need to try to keep track of my email when outlook did this. (the office products)

To make it more interesting, my Gmail accounts are still all linked and working through the office outlook. (it's sad when google is working better than their Microsoft's own email system!) I have restarted, repaired and done everything, even checked my privacy settings which are all set up correctly.

Has anyone else had these issues, and can help me?

Hi all,

I've recently installed Outlook 2003 on my home computer (XP Home SP2) to access my work email off an Exchange (6.5, I think) server. I've been able to sync all my work emails just fine. Until now I've been using Thunderbird (2.0.0.14) to manage a couple of my personal Gmail accounts. Now that I have Outlook I'd like to use that to manage all my email accounts, work and personal. I managed to transfer my personal emails from Thunderbird into Outlook 2003 and setup Outlook to download the Gmail messages. However, Outlook keeps sync'ing my personal Gmail messages onto our work Exchange Server. Is there a way to prevent this?

In transferring the messages from Thunderbird to Outlook all the messages are in the same mailbox as the work emails but in a 'Personal' folder. In 'Tools - Options - Mail Setup - Send/Receive... - Folder Options' the 'Personal' folder is not checked, so I thought it wouldn't sync with the server. I'm probably missing something very obvious, but can't seem to find it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I am encountering a bizarre issue synchronizing a Motorola Q to our in-house Exchange server. Topically, everything is working as expected. The problem at hand is, at seemingly random intervals, the Outlook inbox as well as the Q Outlook inbox randomly marks all messages as read; as would be expected, this is creating havoc in matters of scheduling, &c. I have searched all of the Outlook settings, as well as all available Outlook-related options on the Q to no avail. Has anyone had any experience with these phones or any such synchronization issues? Outlook 2003 is completely updated; I am not sure about the version of the Q's firmware, but would assume, considering the phone is new, that it is probably the latest version....

Any ideas?

Having trouble syncing my new SPH-D700 Samsung Epic with my Outlook 2003 Win7 Pro 64bit PC. Running the latest Samsung Kies version for the Samsung. I can connect the data connection between phone and PC via usb cable without issues...and can transfer files...docs...jpgs...etc smoothly without issues.

But when I try to connect to sync my Outlook 2003 Contacts & Calendar to the Samsung...my Kies screen just shows "connecting" and the little circle keeps spinning for hours...no connection made. I have run the Kies diagnostics but it completes without any indication or reporting of what the issue is or how to solve it ?

Since my data connection with the PC and phone works smoothly via usb...what can be causing the syncing operations with Outlook to fail...or more accurately...to not connect ?

I also have a Blackberry phone that syncs fine via Blackberry Desktop Software with Outlook 2003. I do not have the two phones connected at the same time tho.

Thanks, TiminAZ

Hi!
I have the same problem in both applications (outlook XP/2003 beta).
I have two E-mail accounts.

1. is an exchange account (current set as default)
2. a private email account
when I send internal mails (in the office) outlook use the exchange server...as I set (that is OK!).
but when I will send an external email (for example to [email protected] )
Outlook use also the exchange server to send the email and I get an error message.
The only possibility to send external mails is for me to set the email account by hand for every
outgoing mail.

The proble doesn't exist with outlook 2000.
Outlook 2000 automatically use the second email account when it see that the mail must
be send to an extrenal account.

How can I set Outlook XP / Outlook 2003 beta to do the same as Outlook 2000?

I just put in a new hard drive and installed the latest version of Office 2007. I kept the data and archive files from Outlook 2003 so I could import them into Outlook 2007 and get back to business. However, that did not happen. It was able to read and bring up most of the data, but I am missing some folders which are critical.

The critical folders are folders that were created manually. They were used to store email messages that came in that were important. They were simply dragged from the Inbox and put into that folder. There were also folders within that folder. I'm not sure if these folders and subfolders were in the Inbox or not. They may not have been.

The way I imported it was by going to TOOLS>ACCOUNT SETTINGS>DATA FILES tab>and pointed to the old PST file.

I also pointed to the archive.pst file as well, but later went to FILE>ARCHIVE and pointed to the old archive.pst file in there. Bot ways did not reveal the folders that are needed.

Is Outlook 2007 not able to read all data from Outlook 2003 pst files, or is there a fix for this?

Please advise.

A:Move from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007 not successful; not reading certain folders

I purchased a new Notebook with Office 2007 installed and copied over my Outlook 2000 pst file. I also had manually created folders for filing important emails. Mine were sub folders within the Inbox folder. Everything copied over, but I could not see the manual folders at first until I double clicked the Inbox folder in the side panel and then they spilled out. I would look for them in that panel and double click anything there starting with Inbox, Sent etc. Also try doing a search for any subject or address of an email you may have saved.

When copying over the pst file I think everything is copied. Appears you did not just copy contacts for example, but the complete pst file. I think the folders are there as Sub Folders, just hidden within one of the main folders such as Inbox.

Hi,
It is a small but annoying problem. I upgrade my Office 2000 program suite to Office 2003 professional. I selected the upgrade option on the installation CD. I first selected to upgrade the regular Office software (Words, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc). After this first installation, I noticed that I had 2 Outlook icons in my start programs: the Outlook 2000 icon and the Outlook 2003 icon. I then installed Frontpage 2003 and the Outlook 2000 Icon was replaced by an anonymous .exe program icon. When I clicked on this icon, I got a message saying that this icon only works with an installed application. So I thought it was only a residual icon and I deleted it. Where is the bug?
Well, next to my user logon on Window XP, I get a message that I have 1 unread e-mail. When I open Outlook 2003, there are no unread e-mails. I tried to import e-mails from other applications and I got an e-mail that had been received on Outlook 2000 (A welcome to Outlook 2000 Version 6 message). The problem is that this message keeps reappearing from time to time and I always get this message saying that I have 1 unread e-mail which I cannot see on Outlook 2003. I know I still have some Outlook 2000 files on my C drive but I cannot delete them because the system then tells me that the files cannot be deleted because they are used by an application.

I'm a Hotmail Plus (is that the right term?) user so I'm paying for expanded service. It's been fine for nearly a year now, but recently, my connection has been shaky - sometimes connecting, sometimes not.

Now, I can't connect at all and I get the following errors:

Task 'Hotmail: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported error (0x800CCC0D) : 'The server could not be found.'

Task 'Hotmail: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported error (0x800CCC19) : 'A timeout occurred while communicating with the server.'

I did some trial and error work and realized that the problem is with the URL I'm using:

http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp

This address must be incorrect because when I put in "http://www.hotmail.com" instead, it allowed me to get through but only once. That means that the issue is not with my Outlook.

Is there another address and is anyone else having issues with the above address?

What else could be wrong?

A:Outlook 2003 send and receive does not start up when outlook is opened

Usually, it would not do so immediately, but rather on a schedule per your settings.
To get email upon startup, just click send/recv to get the first downloads for the day.

Hi everyone,

At work we have outlook 2003 and I cannot upgrade that computer, at home I have recently upgraded to outlook 2007 but it left me with a little problem.

I use tasks to delegate jobs out to my team and I have it set up so categories are in fact their names. I used to send task requests with the name of the employee in the category section and when it arrived in the work inbox someone would accept the task and it would immediately go into that particular employees task category.

Now I have 2007 Outlook and although I have set categories up as they used to be (employee names) the task request gets accepted (at work) and instead of going under the employee name it goes into it's own category with no specific category.

Can anyone tell me (short of going back to outlook 2003) how to solve this issue?

Thanks

We are using Exchange Server 2010.

Some staff are using Outlook 2007. They are creating calendars which need to be shared with other employees, most of which are running only Outlook 2003.

All Outlook 2003 users get an email with a link to Microsoft explaining how to open shared calendars. Off07 users get the icon to click and open specified calendar.

Outlook 2003 user then follows MS instructions, and pulls up the Outlook 2007 user's default calendar, then they get this message "Unable to display the folder. The Calendar folder could not be found".

Is there something lacking here? Anyone have any work-a-rounds for Outlook 2003 users to open a shared calendar of an Outlook 2007 user?

I have been using the beta version of Office 2007 til it expired last month and during that time exported a back up of Outlook (contacts, calendar etc) to My Docs.
Not all that fussed with the '07 Office suite, I uninstalled it and then reinstalled Office 2002 but when I try to import the pst file to this earlier version of Outlook, it tellss me that it is not compatible and to contact the Administrator (me!).

If I cannot work around this somehow I intend laying on the railway tracks quite shortly as life without my files will no longer have any meaning to me!

I guess as a last resort I can download the latest trial of 2007 Office and see if that will let me re-import the backed up pst file but what a drama!

We've purchased a new laptop and are using Office 07 now, Windows XP, instead of the old office 03. Regarding Outlook, when I tried to save the old .pst file(Outlook 03) and then import old emails and contacts, the emails imported very easily into Outlook 07. However, none of the contacts were imported. Is there a simple way to export or save Outlook 2003 contacts to a file that can then be imported into Outlook 2007 on a separate computer??

Thanks

Gene

A:Trouble transferring Outlook 2003 contacts to Outlook 2007

Export the old contact as a .CSV file and then re-import into the new installation.

Windows 7 pro using Microsoft office suite 2003. The outlook email and calendar application of that office suite worked fine for both separate logged in users of this desktop pc. After user two incorrectly entered a calendar reminder that appears blank and the recurrence symbol shows the diagonal line through the re-occurrence symbol, the bad entry could not be deleted. When that date arrived, as outlook checked for any reminders, the program immediately locked up and insisted it be closed. The user number one has no problem at all with their calendar or email using the same outlook email/calendar program. How can this "false" entry in user two's calendar be deleted without losing all other entries for future recurring or single calendar reminder events? The program itself will not allow the entry to be opened or deleted since it immediately closes when checking for reminders.

Hi,

I just launched my email and I've lost everything. It looks like a whole new program has launched (Outlook Express 6), whereas I used to have Outlook 2003. The only thing I can think of is I needed to find my email password to set up email on my mobile, so I went to Start/Programs, but all I could find was Outlook Express 6. Perhaps an automatic update has taken place. Anyway, I went to Tools/Accounts/double clicked on my username/Servers, but the password was blanked out. I therefore killed the program, but when I hit the email button on my keyboard to launch Outlook 2003, Outlook Express 6 launched, which has no emails at all.

The only thing I can think that has changed since yesterday is my Norton 360 Antivirus software expired today and I intend buying an update tomorrow. Perhaps there's a connection? What do you think happened, are my old emails stored somewhere, and how can I restore Outlook 2003?

A:Solved: Outlook 2003 Suddenly Replaced by Outlook Express 6

When you launched Outlook express do you remember that box that came up and said something along the lines of:

"outlook express is currently not your default mail application, do you want it to be?"
and you clicked yes without reading it properly...?

Well it has done exactly that. You have two email apps on your computer, one of them has to be default. when you did that you changed it to outlook express. Luckily for you it is easy to fix.

All you need to do is go into the Start menu and find Outlook 2003 and run it. It will prob be under All programs > Microsoft Office> Outlook. Run it and then you will get the same prompt as you did for outlook express about making it the default app, choose yes to this. This will now make Outlook 2003 your default email app again and fix your problem.
Let us know if this works.

I'm using Outlook 2003 SP2 in a standalone configuration with Win XP Professional SP2.

When I click on the Inbox item on the Outlook Today screen (not referring here to the file list at the left of the screen) I get the following message:

"Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Office Outlook could not access the specified folder location."

I backed up my .pst (and archive) files, uninstalled Outlook, re-started Windows, and re-installed Outlook. The problem persisted.

I can click on Inbox in the file list on the left of the Outlook screen - works fine. The problem is more of an annoyance than a major problem, but I'm uneasy that something's not working proprerly - Outlook's too important to me for odd, unexplained things to be happening!

We are using Exchange Server
Some staff in our executive branch have brand new laptops (lucky guys) with Office 2007[Of07]. They are creating calendars which need to be shared with other employees, most of which are running only Outlook 2003 [OL03].

Calendar(s) are made, and invites sent for specific calendars to specific groups of users.
IE: Regional Sales Mgr. creates several supplemental "events" calenders he wants to share with his different teams.
Calendars:
---Default, Corporate, Dist1, Dist2, Dist3, Region
Group:
---DistGrp1, DistGrp2, DistGrp3
Permissions:
---Dist1 calender --> DistGrp1
---Dist2 calendar --> DistGrp2
---Dist3 calendar --> DistGrp3
---Region --> DistGrp1, DistGrp2, DistGrp3

All OL03 users get an email with a link to Microsoft explaining how to open shared calendars. Off07 users get the icon to click and open specified calendar.

OL03 user then follows MS instructions, and pulls up the Off07 user's default calendar, with no option to open or even locate any other calender.

Is there something lacking here? Anyone have any work-a-rounds for OL03 users to open a shared calendar (other than the default or main calendar) of an OFF07 user?

Thank you.

I have an external software that creates and distributes an email to users with a link to view a report. The external software creates the email with Outlook 2007. Recipients that are using Outlook 2003 do not see the link, just the plain text. The workaround is to highlight and paste into the browser.

The software company says that it is a Microsoft issue.

I see lots of posts about creating HTML in 2003, but nothing about reading...

Help?

Some mail servers do not accept HTML formatted messages and only allow plain text? Are these recipients on en Exchange server or just some random POP accounts?

Recently a customer of the company I work for did some upgrade to their system (not exactly sure what). The result is that when they send a mail containing a hyperlink to file on their website, the link doesn't work.
When you hover over the link you should get something like 'https//thiscompany.com/page.do?DOCID=123456'.
However, what we actually get on Outlook 2003 is 'outbind://39-00000000C176F3FF67E6754394476777057BDCA60700071475F5FEB9AC4FABB3D7C8EE9381620000007059

On mac mail it looks like this 'x-msg://24/thiscompany.com/page.do?DOCID=123456'.

The links work fine on Outlook 2010. Any idea what's happening here?

Most of my users are on Outlook 2003, but some are on Outlook 2007. When a 2007 user uses the scheduling assistant to try and set a meeting, the message appears No Information. No free/busy information could be retrieved.

Note: a 2003 user can see the other 2003 user's schedule.

Is this something that needs to be set at the Exchange level? How do I resolve?

All users are on Windows XP SP2

I had a Windows XP corruption to my system folder wherein I had to reinstall my operating system and "wipe out" my harddrive.

I have my entire "old" harddrive with all settings, files, etc. on it, and now my computer is up and running with Windows Vista Business.

I have successfully added my old PST file to the new OS and it works, however how can I get my Outlook 2003 rules, email accounts, etc? I'm not able to "export" as I cannot run the old Outlook program?...

Are these files located somewhere that I can manually add them (replace, whatever) to the new Vista OS/hard drive?

Thanks in advance...

Folks I have read the MS tech notes on how to get Outlook 2003 [I have it via Office 2003 Professional, full install] to import from OE6. It fails under either option: import from "another program" or "Import Internet Mail....". Under the former it is pointed to the correct folder, but fails with Error: Cannot open,.. another program in use" but there's not... I tried copying the folder to a nice clean location on the C: and checked all the properties, nothing interfering, still won't open the folder.
Under the latter option it just doesn't do anything after directing it to the correct folder. Seems to accept the command, closes the window, but does not import anything. No error messages.

Umm.... do MS teams communicate with one another??

Closely related: If I could just get the FOLDERS I had setup it would be a great asset, or if i could just get the ADDRESS book it would help. Do you know how to import *.dbx folders into Outlook 2003? Or the old outlook Express address Book?

thx

z

A:Outlook 2003 Will Not Import Outlook Express folders, mail, anything

They are written in two different formats that are uncompatible. The Oulook Express has a file sytem totally unique to it.

I had the same problem about 6 weeks ago going from XP to Win7.
I had to transfer address book to notepad and put it into Outlook one at a time. The old mail sits in the old PC.
I have heard you can transfer the OE mail files over to Windows mail or gmail etc. Then transfer files from the new mail server to Outlook.
File system is changed over with the mail transfer- I haven't tried it though.
Mike

I did a Google and found this. I didn't find this page six weeks ago.
