I can't view a website... (firefox, internet explorer)

Q: I can't view a website... (firefox, internet explorer)

Hey, this is an odd problem. I Have two computers connected to the wireless netgear router and my desktop connected directly through the cable.

Now I can access the internet just fine, get on games like theres no problem. However there is one website that I can not access from any three of the computers. I think its odd.

I was on one of my games earlier, I said to a friend. "Hey how long has basilmarket.com been down."

The reply was odd, "It's not, I'm on right now!"

So why could the server for the site still be running and all my friends view the page but when I go I get

"The connection has timed out

The server at www.basilmarket.com is taking too long to respond.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

I don't understand why it would just be me.

I cleared all my cache on two of the computers and still nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

Preferred Solution: I can't view a website... (firefox, internet explorer)

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: I can't view a website... (firefox, internet explorer)

Can you get to it from the other machine?

I recently made a website using Microsoft Publisher and then I edited it with a 30-day trial of Dreamweaver....I've put it on the web...it seems to be working great with firefox but on internet explorer its slow, images take a very long time to load, the page is off center, etc., here's the link to the website...thanks for any help!

A:My Website Works In Firefox But Not Internet Explorer.

Hmm, if you're seriously interested in creating websites you're probably better off learning HTML, CSS (&Possibly Javascript)... Using publisher is probably not the best of ideas, and i've never been impressed by dreamweaver.

If you're interested in learning HTML then i suggest the tutorials here: www.w3schools.com which can guide you through creating w3 standard websites...

As for the problem i see no reason that it should be lagging on one browser and not on the other. And your images are relatively small so i really don't see the problem.

Hello BC users,I really need some help, On my website, It is much better viewed in firefox, therefore I am looking for a script that stops all browsers from using Internet Explorer or other and only allows them to use Firefox. Is there a script that restricts them from doing it and displays a pop-up, giving them the option to either enter with some incapabilities or click another button to download Firefox. You can check my website out yourselves, if you click latest news in IE you will see the content box doesnt expand, but in Firefox it does.ThanksJakehttp://www.habbointerairport.co.uk

A:Firefox must be used to view a website...

Probably an easier thing to do would be to have the homepage set up like an entry gateway. What I mean is when they type in your address it goes to your website that states something like:"[Your site name] is best viewed with Mozilla Firefox, we suggest you download firefox from http://www.getfirefox.com and revisit. If you would like to continue with IE or if you already have Firefox, please click Enter Here below"Then put an ENTRER Here with the link to your main entrance page.

I thought the problem may have been IE8 so I uninstalled it but that did not make any difference. All web pages display normally on Firefox.

It lists files that could be damaged and cause this error. There are 6 listed and you can search for them and when found right click each in turn... and reload the file.. Or it you want to really get into dangerous stuff you can go into the registry.
I reloaded file Oleaut32.dll and it worked.

I recently had a virus removed from my computer. I have Windows 7. After the virus was removed, I noticed that Internet Explorer was missing.

At the time, I didn't realize that IE 10 is embedded in Windows 7. The virus removal software must have disabled IE.

I went to the Microsoft download site and decided to download IE 11 (pre sale download). I figured that IE 11 would remove any previous version of IE and install IE 11

The download (IE 11) did not download completely !

I went to documents/downloads and double clicked on IE10-Windows 6.1-en-us.exe

That brought me to a User Account Control Box which read: Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to your computer. The box listed:

Program Name: Internet Explorer 10 / Verified Publisher: Microsoft Corporation / File Origin: Downloaded from the internet

I clicked on yes

A box came up which read: Internet Explorer did not finish installing. Setup can't continue because a more recent version of Internet Explorer is installed on your computer.

How do I restore IE 10 to my computer ?

A:Unable to view Internet Explorer

There's a couple of ways that you can try -

First go into Windows Update/Installed updates to see if it's listed.

IE10 isn't embedded in Win 7 and is acquired via Windows Update.

You can right click on it and select Uninstall - this will revert you to whichever version you had before the upgrade and after the reboot, try the download again.

A more robust approach is to go Progs & Features/Turn windows features on or off and uncheck its box, but before you do this - you must have another browser installed as you will lose all access to the Internet as you will have effectively uninstalled IE - but give the first method a go first.

After i installed SP2 my internet explorer won't let me view certain webpages. For example Windows Update Page says:
Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page. You may find the following resources helpful in resolving the problem: Click to expand...

And when i check msn mail i get to the log in screen type my username and password and then i get a "page cannot be displayed" message.

I also use FireFox, and i can check msn mail with that.

So i think what is happening is that Internet Explorer is blocking Encrypted pages. I go through settings and change some stuff hoping it will fix it, but it dosn't...

Does anyone have anyclue? I've already ran Hi-Jack This, and Adaware.

Hello all! I'm new here and was hoping someone could help me out. I am an aspiring CPA and just to sat for a section of the exam. In order to check your score you have to go to the NASBA website. Unfortunately I'm having problems viewing the website. I tried to contact them a couple of days ago and have not received a response, so I was hoping someone here could help as I am anxious to see my score. Here is my issue. When I go to the website, www.NASBA.org, I can view both the header where the NASBA log and search functions are and the 4 main categories (Members, Exams, Meetings, Library) along with sublinks. I can also view the footers at the bottom of the page (About NASBA, Center for Public Trust, etc.), however I cannot view what is in the middle of the page. This occurs on all pages within the site. There is an "error" on my internet explore that says done. There are several error messages, one of which is

Line: 143
Char: 3
Error: Unspecified Error
URL: http://www.nasba.org/nasbaweb/NASBAWeb.nsf/WPHP?OpenForm
Please note I actually get an error on almost every single internet explorer page that I open, all of which are "unspecified errors". I really appreciate any help you may provide.

I cannot view "most" pictures when I go to a site through Internet Explorer. For example.. if I go to myspace.com, I can't see any "friends" pictures, (not even my own)
I have an account with photobucket and when I log in, all of the names of my pictures are there but not one picture is showing.. If I do a search for something, same thing..

The pictures that I have saved in my computer are there..it's only when I'm using IE.
I recently downloaded software for a printer/scanner/fax machine from the internet which I know I shouldn't do but I had to! and I think I remember seeing somewhere in this forum that this could be my problem?
I've already checked tools/Internet options/show pictures/ and view/encoding/Western European (which likes to jump and change itself now and then but I don't care about that right now!!

Your log is actually clean. Here's a couple tools to try, let me know if they work in resolving your problem.

Please download Ad-aware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Go to this site to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. To run this tool, go into Ad-aware->Add-ons and select VX2 Cleaner. Then click Run Tool and OK to start it. If it's clean, it will say Status System Clean. Otherwise, you will have to click on the Clean button to remove the VX2 infection. Also make sure to customize the settings in Ad-aware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds.

Download WinsockFix and unzip it. Then double-click on it to run it.

Hello everyone,

Recently i have purchased a new web design for my web hosting company website, the website template was ok at the start but after i customised it everything went pearshaped, i use the built-in HTML editor in cPanel which is a web hosting control panel to edit my website viewing it from Mozilla Firefox, everything looks ok and the website was getting on great but when i went to view my website on Internet explorer everything looked messed up the text was everywhere the images where misplaced, so i though this is just my PC playing up again so i asked my friend who has both IE7 & IE8 Beta, it was roughly the same, i don't no what to do anymore. Any ideas how i can fix this?

Recently my internet explorer 7 started launching itself and go to unknown websites : its not a normal launch since its only visible at the task manager procces page and the websites didnt show in the history file.
As I have experiance using my PC I begun doing everything I know.
After Having my computer scanned with many anti malware/spyware proggrams including - Malwarebytes,RogueRemover,Kaspersky,Avg and few more. I failed to find what was causing this and why there isnt any history records of this.
Doing some more research I found a program to view the contents of the explorers history file (IEHV) what I found is that the explorer goes to this site :

tibia-inject.com/ping.php?id=68085&conf=uwp33&infid=1375893814&infname=lol (DONT CLICK IT!!!!!!!!!)

So far I have failed to remove this but I suppose its some sort of keylogger for the game tibia. I have zemana Antilogger but it doesnt catch this 1.
All of my attempts to remove it or finding information on the web on how to remove it have not been succesfull all I found are known rogue program sites so I obviously avoided them in order to not get anything even worse.

If anyone have encountered a similar problem or can refer me to a topic on how to remove this horribly nasty infection and willing to share it here please do.

Here is the problem. I will try to be as specific as I can since I know it makes a difference on advice to help resolve.

I had a new computer built. 256mb, 27.3 gig harddrive that is partitioned. I am running Windows 2000 Server. Works wonderfully minus the problem I cannot display any web pages. I installed AOL 8, and my understanding from their message boards is this is a huge problem for a ton of people however their assistance has done no good except take some features of aol away that at least I did have in the beginning.

Here is what has been done thus far.

1) cache checked and cleared
2) aol adaptor uninstalled and reinstalled
3) internet explorer repair used
4) I have uninstalled AOL 8, including all those little files in regedit, installed an older version(6.0) same problem. Deleted 6.0 and reinstalled 8.
5) It appears to be a winsock2 issue on a ton of others so at a suggestion I deleted winsock2 via regedit. After rebooting winsock2 is back.
6) A program was written to solve this problem called LSPFix. I dl'd it but when I attempt to run I get this error "Protocol or Namespace Catalog keys not present in the Registry. Please re-install Winsock 2"
Now I still show winsock2 is there, so I am well confused.
7) after speaking with another tech, he suggested I find winsock2 at microsoft and reinstall it. I have looked and cannot.
I found it for windows 95 but not windows 2000.

While it?s hard at work developing Internet Explorer 9, Microsoft is also focusing on ensuring that Internet Explorer 8 customers get the best browsing experience possible.

The Redmond company is now offering a new update designed to kick up a notch the compatibility between IE8 and third-party websites.

KB 2447568 has been released accompanying the actual refreshes served by the software giant that can be downloaded from the Microsoft Download Center.

As IE8 customers are used to, the update doesn?t change the actual bits of the browser but instead is focused on refreshing the Compatibility View List.

?An update is available for the Windows Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility View list that is dated November 23, 2010,? Microsoft explained.

?This Compatibility View list update makes websites that are designed for older browsers look better in Internet Explorer 8.

Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility Update for the View List - Softpedia

A:Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility Update for the View List

The Softpedia links to the update at the bottom of the page all lead to an error message:

"We're sorry, but there is no Softpedia web page matching your entry.
It is possible that you typed the address incorrectly, or that the page no longer exists.
Generated on: 2010-11-27, 03:29 GMT"

But wouldn't we be getting it from Windows Update anyway?

Hello, I am working on my friends laptop attempting to remove a virus (assuming). When the computer boots up, all .exe files that are meant to start upon boot open a "View Downloads - Internet Explorer" window. Anytime I attempt to open any application, the same thing happens. Instead of opening the program, it again brings up the download dialog. And all exe files show the internet explorer icon instead of corresponding icon.
Steps I have taken:
 - I removed the hard-drive from said laptop, placed in my desktop and ran MalwareBytes Anti-Malware in an attempt to remove viruses. It didn't find much, just mainly some PUP's.
 - Made a secondary admin account, no problems there.
 - Ran rkill from both accounts, and nothing different on either account. Infected account still won't run applications
 - Tried running a registry fix for .exe file associations which failed on the infected account, and was "successful" on the second admin account. Led to no change on the infected account.
 - Tried reverting back to the OLDEST restore point possible, nothing.
Below is the DDS.txt and the attach.txt is attached. Thank you in advance for any and all help.
