I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

hello all,
ive been experiencing this issue for a few days now. www.facebook.com will not load. the only way it seems to load is if i clear cache and it is VERY limited almost useless. i've tried everything i could get my hands on i primarily use google chrome but this seems to be the problem on all browsers. opera, firefox, internet explorer, safari. i've tried https://www.facebook.com, checked host file, ran malwarebytes and cleared any malware, hijackthis, flushed dns, reset router etc but nothing seems to be the fix. even using a proxy site wont allow me to sign in it gets me to the home page but then cookies gets in the way. i'm almost certain it's nothing to do with the internet provider or modem/router because the internet seems to be running smooth, even other computers in the house are not experiencing this problem with facebook or any other site and they are connected to the same router. any help will be much appreciated.

Hey All,

I went to TWC's Facebook page, which is just loaded with videos and ads that clogged up my computer speed so much in Firefox that I had to reboot my computer. What can be done to tell companies to do something about Facebook's Timeline, so that the videos don't show? Or at least the process gets speeded up? The problem in general with Timeline is that everything on the page loads at once, and the videos really slow up the experience. I have the My WOT and Ad Block Plus Plug in for Firefox. From a design standpoint, what does TWC need to do to re-design their Facebook page, so that Timeline does not slow people's computers down to a crawl?

Every account I've read of someone's facebook being hacked has been from someone foolishly clicking a link a fellow victim uncharacteristically 'sent' to them, on facebook.

Is this always the case, or can facebook-hijacking viruses be obtained from elsewhere?

If I regularly use streaming websites or porn or whatever, am I at risk of a virus using a keylogger to hijack my facebook?

thanks

Both the above named apps after finally getting the AU, will not actually load. they both self close before getting off the icon screen. I only discovered this when I went to check a notification from action center instead of loading up the browser. Now I was still getting notifications while they would not load but after uninstalling/rebooting, clearing app caches multiple time they have stopped even doing that which I expected. The notifications was the main reason I even had the programs, so I could get those notifications when I did not have the site open.

I have tried every solution google could also give me including clearing out manually some registry entries between an uninstall and reinstall and clearing out all Facebook windows credentials but nothing has made a difference.

In event viewer each generated 2 errors and between then an information entry.

Here is my original post:

Hey guys, just built myself this new shiny computer with an AMD 8120 processor, 8GB ram, plenty of storage and a decent graphics card.

It runs games, Photoshop, multiple browser sessions all at the same time, and I even upgraded to the cable companies fastest internet...

So why the BLEEP can I NOT get on Facebook?

Seriously across ALL browsers (especially Chrome which I've uninstalled and reinstalled) I get extreme slowdown or loss of connection ONLY with Facebook. I've pinged it and gotten very fast responses, but I cannot do ANYTHING on their servers.

When I was FIRST downloading software, a friend of mine used a program that allows you to install lots of recommended programs at once, he downloaded and used a "torrent downloader" program, and that is the ONLY thing I think could be causing some issue. I've used Ad Aware and tried to fix it, gone into incognito mode (which helps sometimes) and used other browsers, but somehow facebook still is slow.

Can anyone help?

EDIT: another strange issue, even though all my settings are correct I have to send email 3/4 times in Windows Live Mail before the server accepts it. I get a LOT of server not responding errors.

It looks like your computer is being affected by malware. We’ll help you fix the problem to keep your account secure and prevent malware from spreading to friends.     Malware is software that tries to steal personal information and causes problems when you use Facebook. Clicking or sharing links that contain spam can give your computer malware.

Followed by a button to "get started" which I have left strictly alone.

I can log in fine from other computers.

I've run Malwarebytes anti-malware which found no issues and scanned with Avast Free antivirus which also reported nothing.

I foolishly installed the facebook beta app from the Windows 10 store, now I'm getting popups notifying me of posts in Facebook and I find that really annoying. I've tried blocking notifications in Chrome and Torch browser, manually deleting anything relating to Facebook from inside the Windowsapps folder but I still get those damn notifications! GRRRR!!! Under the apps and features section in the settings menu, the Facebook beta app is still listed but can't be removed, trying to uninstall it gives me an 0x80073cfa error. I even tried removing the app with PowerShell and I got an error. How the bloody hell do I rid myself of this thing?

A:Please help me get rid of the Facebook app!

How to get rid of Face Book
Have tried to uninstall it this way
Left click Start
Then go to All Apps
Scroll down until you see the face Book App
Then Right Click and a menu should show up
At the bottom you should see uninstall
Click that and it should uninstall its self

I've tried searching the web and the forums for a solution, but haven't found a single reference to the same problem. I am experiencing two similar issues:

1. Third-party sites with any link to "connect with facebook" load a permissions window, but then the actual connect authorization window pops up and does nothing. (Chrome, Firefox, or Opera) When supported, I can connect via Google just fine.

2. On facebook, though signed in to youtube/google, cannot add videos to watch later list. (Only with Chrome.)

Machine is running Windows 7. I've tried enabling 3rd party cookies (I'd rather not have to do that.) but to no avail. Any ideas?

I have a Facebook account, but got it only to get photos from my brother-in-law. Since then, I've acquiesced to selecting a few people as "friends", even though I seldom see or interact with them. But EVERY DAY, I get emails telling me I have X notifications. But when I click the link, I just see a long display of the "friends" I have and clicking on any one of them displays old stuff.

How does one distinguish new "notifications" from old information?

Several months ago I had thought somone had hacked my facebook. I changed my yahoo password. I changed my secret word also. Wrote them down. Then I changed my facebook password. My facebook password was found but I can't find my yahoo password. Last night I created an aol account. I logged into my facebook from my aol account. What I didn't know then, in the right upper hand corner of my aol page, there's a place that you can edit your city and state. So, the email that alerted me that someone was connecting from somewhere else was actually me. In the process, I reported to facebook that someone had comprimised my account. I changed the password, had to send them a photograph of my state I.D and now I'm tempory locked out. This is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to fix this. Last night I removed my yahoo account from my facebook account and am using my aol account. I can't access my yahoo account either. Both temporarily locked me out. Before I was locked out of facebook I added my yahoo eail address hoping they could send my password to my aol address but they are sending notifiaction to the yahoo account I can't even access. I called another tech support to find out in the end...they want $19.95. Don't have any money. This is a shared internet service I'm using. On my wifes work laptop she goes to www.facebook.com and it bring up her page. It loads and all is fine until it hits the end of the page. As soon as the page is 99% loaded it then appends the url to http:\\www.facebook.com\ai.php?aed= and then a ton of random numbers. At this point it clears all her Facebook information and it goes to Internet Explorer could not display this page.

I noticed she had a search bar called Social media so I then uninstalled that and I also did a spybot removal of all found and a superantispyware scan as well. I did a final cleanup from hijack this but it is still doing this same thing. Lastly I did a cache cleaning to no avail.

I put in a USB drive and used a firefox portable and it was not fdoing iit so its definitely something loaded I am just not sure what.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

I don't know if the troubles are with Facebook or with my pc...maybe someone can tell me how to figure it out! When I click "like" on some FB pages, a few different things go wrong...I cannot post anything at all, and the admins of the page have not banned me.
I can post if my comment is small, like, say, 12 words or fewer and/or I do not include a URL.
I can post a short comment with a URL if the URL does not contain the "http://"
When it looks like a (regular) post worked (a long post, with or without a complete URL), the trouble is, either, no one else can see it; or, only some of my FB friends can see it.I searched my register for a couple of entries (DOMA--a name of one of the FB pages giving me this trouble; & Facebook) and deleted them. But that didn't stop the troubles. Thoughts? Suggestions?I'll be hear, working away

Prominently lately, the moment I visit Facebook web pages in general, a pop-up appears.

When it first appeared several months ago, clicking on delete "History" then refreshing the page cleared the pop-up.

Now, the pop-up appears the moment I visit any pages (regardless of whether I use Pale Moon, my preferred browser or Comodo Ice Dragon, so it can't be browser related), regardless of whether I delete my History folder:

When I scroll down the page "See more of..." appears, in this case BBC Radio 2.

As I scroll down the page the status adds "Not Now", but I can't find an option to block the pop-up to enable a full screen free of pop-ups:

Well, MySpace has become more of a music site and the social networking aspect has been trumped by Facebook & Twitter. That's why I stay away from Facebook in favour of Twitter. And Twitter is great for promoting my blog.

Facebook on my HP Pavilion 550-126 runs very slow (8 seconds to go from Home to my page) plus generally will not allow me to post pictures on pages I visit/am a member of and will not open the Help button where Settings and Log Out are located.  My OS is Windows 10 and I use a Google Chrome browser. The latest change to this PC was adding the LastPass software to securely recall passwords for frequently visited sites.  Sometimes not all these symptoms occur but generally all do. I have an older HP Pavillion a6600f running VISTA and using Google Chrome and Facebook works on it fine, as it does on my Toshiba laptop running W10 and Google Chrome.  It also works fine on my iphone6.  A friend recommended disabling Ipv6 (and I guess defaulting to ipv4) but I have not tried that as I fear to many other problems.  Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.   Thanks.

Now when I go to facebook.com it asks me to download the same file, every time. I can't even get to the login page on facebook. The farthest I get is being asked to download this file... I'm at my dad's house taking care of his animals while he's in the hospital and he's coming home this afternoon.. He uses facebook all the time so I need to get this fixed before he gets home.. Help please

What is an APP on facebook? Is this a legit application from facebook or a resume download? On what browser? Maybe you should clear your browser cache.

Didn't know where else to ask this since it's internet related.
Well, a few friends of mine friended someone today on Facebook. I saw the post on the newsfeed and clicked the link to the profile. I'm using the English (US) Facebook. Clicking the link to the profile brought me to the Turkish version of the profile (hxxp://tr-tr.facebook.com), and it logged me out of Facebook entirely. So, I logged back into normal Facebook, went to the post, clicked the profile link again, and it brought me to the normal US version of the profile. So, I went back and got the link to the "Turkish" version of the profile and asked a friend to try it. Clicking the URL of the Turkish version brought him to the US version of it. So, then I tried it again and even the Turkish version link brought me to the US version.
As a note, the profile was new, and It definitely wasn't caused by malware.

So, was it just a one-time bug? What exactly happened? Is this something I should be worried about? It only happened with this profile.

I would like to know if it is possible to recover deleted messages from Facebook. By accident I deleted messages and pics from an account I did not want to delete

Hello,

Cannot recall password to my Hotmail account, which is the one Facebook has for me. Facebook also has only an old cell phone number for me, a closed account. Hotmail is not allowing me to recover my password; it's all differently formatted, since when I opened the email account, on Hotmail, years ago.

I've opened a brand new Yahoo email, verified, working properly. Facebook will not allow me to use this email, to recover my Facebook password, mainly because they cannot verify me, using that old cell phone account (closed, no access whatsoever).

I've been around and around, in this horrible loop, straining for over an hour, trying to find some way for Facebook to recognize me, so I can begin to reset my Facebook password. At last it did indeed find my account. (Correct photo is displayed, with my name, etc.). But I'm not getting any farther and this whole process is totally frustrating.

Main problem seems to be that the old cell (closed account) is not accessible; this is the only phone number they have, associated with my Facebook account.

No idea what to do or try next. If Hotmail somehow would allow me to recover my password, it seem that Facebook would then let me reset the Facebook password. This is all I want.

Any thoughts/suggestions will sure be appreciated--BIG TIME!!

Many thanks!

ChristopherCG

I do not understand. Since upgrading to Windows 10 my using the latest version of Google Chrome, Facebook hangs up after about 15 minutes of use and videos are very erratic. This same thing happens if I use Mozilla Fire Fox but if I use Microsoft Edge all seems to be fine. I can use Facebook for over an hour with no issues.

What is the deal? Is Microsoft screwing with browser operations except for theirs? I have looked around here and see nothing that will solve my problem. I do NOT Like Edge and would rather keep using Google Chrome. What am I to do??

Thank you.

Duane
