Now! ESET has just released their newest security suite: ESET Smart Security 9 (2016 Edition). These products are on the top of security suites which are produced by giants on security companies. Most of them released 2016 editions of their products. I want to compare on their newest products with new features (such as on ESET: Banking Protection, Bitdefender: Ransomware Protection and new Firewall, etc...) and some enhanced features.
And now, which is your choose for your security? Please let me know your opinion!
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
its hard choice choose between Eset,Kaspersky and Emsisoft.
in fact i never test Eset 2016, but i tested kaspersky and Emsisoft, Kaspersky 2016 really go lighter than Emsisoft(now i am Emsisoft useres)
by your budget and your interest u can choose Emsisoft or kaspersky.
Which security suite has the best firewall? Kaspersky IS 2016, BitDefender IS, Eset Smart Security, or Emsisoft IS?
Emsi>Kasper>Bit
hi
i want chang my internet security please help me
now bitdefender 2016 but very heavy
thanks
If you come from Bitdefender then I would recommend you KIS2016, quite light; very effective. ESET is also a good option, Emsisoft same stuff. If you like smooth and less interactive protection ESET and Kaspersky would be better, Emsisoft is cool but a bit more interactive IMO.
Which antivirus is better Bitdefender Total Security 2016 or Eset Smart Security?
Computer resources wise it's Eset... But, if you don't mind that, go with BD, there are a lot of giveaways from them.
Earlier I was using Bitdefender and thought Bitdefender was the number 1 and Kaspersky is the number 2. But After coming to this forum I realized that the reality is completely different! Some products have trouble working with Windows 10, some have trouble protecting 64bit systems. I did some digging and settled with two products. Kaspersky and ESET. Im using a Windows 10 64 bit system. What product might be the best for such a setup?
For purely protection basis you may go to ESET SS 9 as you can tweak the HIPS for protection and their Sandbox (Banking) + so far the architecture (x64) isn't affected from performance.
KIS 2016 is a promising suite, however until now limited components working from prevention due to Windows 10 environment which the developers make a note to fix those issues; but overall a balance concept where you can tweak more from numerous components.
Somehow the system impact tends to be consistent as light for ESET than Kaspersky.
Still brace yourself to see those possible unique characteristics.
Which one is the best ?
better detection
Less false positives
Worth less in the system
I bought a license for ESET Smart Security 9, apparently Antivirus is excellent, very saw videos of comparisons with other antivirus, and it pleased me a lot, both in the interface and usability!
I was in doubt of which pay a license, get me out of this doubt, what do you think best?
Thank you!
I hope you understand my question!
I used Google Translate, I'm from Brazil.
Thank you again!
Kaspersky for better detection and I think also less false positive
but you said "I bought a license for ESET Smart Security 9" so just use it then. Eset is good too, very light on system
I have 6 months trial license all of them. Which one do you recommend?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards.
Heyye.
What kind of system do you have?
Panda and Avast are the lightest while Bitdefender can be heavy.
All 3 offer excellent protection (Avast requires tweaking; Bitdefender and Panda works out of the box), while Bitdefender is mainly known for its detection rate (signatures).
Try the 3 of them (trial versions, not the 6 months) and see which one you prefer.
In terms of UI, all 3 are user friendly.
Have a look here for Avast and Bitdefender info:
KIS 2016 vs NIS 2016 vs BIS 2016 vs Avast IS 2016 vs Trend Micro IS 2016
I'm going to buy a new license of one of these product, so any suggest please?
I have used Bitdefender, Avast, Kaspersky ( about 3 years ago), I haven't used Norton and Trend Micro.
Out of all these, and your prerequisites,I would go with Kaspersky!
PS:This is from personal experience, and other members may have varying opinions!!
Please one moment!
Between Avast Premier 11 vs Eset Smart Security 9, which one is better for overall reason?
Thanks friend!
I would go with Eset, because it has good signatures, according to tests in the malware hub. It is also great at detecting adware
Pls Help Me to decided which one should i go with? My eset smart security licence end in 15 days.Pls give your reason.
I haven't tried Avast 2015/16 Beta but all the previous versions have been too much loaded ones, hate avast because of this.
Using ESET Smart Security 9, fees lighter than even ESET Smar Security 8, loving it.
My f secure IS subscription is just about to over and i am looking for new antivirus.I won't be using f secure IS again as it has pathetic parental control,it keeps on blocking legitimate websites..
I found out bullguard Internet security and ESET smart security v9 to be good option for me as they are less resource hungry and prices are also less.
But confused which one to choose. Can you please provide me with your views regarding which AV i should choose.
Most Internet Security products include anti-virus and firewall protection plus various other features depending on the software vendor...and for those reasons it is called a Security suite.I'm not an advocate of suites. All-in-one tools and suites are filled with extra features (including "bells & whistles") which typically use more system resources than separate programs that do the same task while other suites leave a much smaller footprint. Suites tend to have varying degrees of strengths and weaknesses accorded for each feature they incorporate. Internet Security Suites include a Firewall component, which IMO is unnecessary since the Windows built-in firewall is one of the best and provides adequate protection. Further, many folks also use a router which is essentially a hardware firewall. In contrast, separate tools are designed, built and maintained with a greater focus in a specific area so they are generally of better quality and more effective at what they are designed to do. This means the program's performance for that particular feature is usually superior than their all-in-one counterpart. Further, all-in-one tools generally do not allow the user as much flexibility in tailoring program settings and usage.HTG Explains: Why You Don’t Need a Full Internet Security SuiteIf you are adamant about using a suite, then I would recommend one of the following:Emsisoft Internet SecurityESET Smart SecurityKaspersky Internet SecuritySee my comments at the bottom of ... Read other 1 answersHello there everyone,
I'm actually on Kaspersky Antivirus v2016, and i was wishing to go to the freeware side. But i definitly do not want to sacrifice security. Does Panda offer same or even better security than Kaspersky, or shall i rather stay where i am?
Any opinions are welcome.. Thanks in advance
without doubt, i'd choose kaspersky antivirus
AV-Comparatives has rated Bitdefender 2015 as one of the lightest product, best in performance AV suite for 2014. Even this year, Bitdefender ranks there as a lot lighter than ESET SS 8.
What do you think? In my low-end system, at installation and after a week of usage, ESET is still lighter than Bitdefender. What exactly is Photon technology?
Which av is best ?
BD Free is not compatible with Windows 10
1-Panda
2-Avira
3-BitDefender
This is my Top from what you listed.
I understand its Free vs Paid product comparision but anyway
If a security soft ranks amongst the top performing AVs, it won't matter much if it does function correctly or causes problems on your specific system.
From lab test results F-Secure has an edge over Panda during testing the past few years in terms of detection (although higher false positives).
From users, it seems more prefer Panda - which is one of Neil Rubenking's (PCMag) favs (that don't mean much - but that is just my opinion).
I'd say, in terms of overall protection, Panda has a slight edge; it might protect your system in a few instances that F-Secure will not.
Hafif Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 vs Bitdefender Internet Security 2016?
Sistemi: Windows 10, 64 Bit, ?ntel.
It is not clear-cut answer.
Bitdefender adds less to system reboot. Kaspersky much longer reboot.
Bitdefender uses about 200 to 300 MB RAM.
Bitdefender requires more advanced IT knowledge to solve problems when it issues occur.
Kaspersky has much better protections - much. Bitdefender needs supplement like NVT ERP because it is weak against some malicious scripts.
Bitdefender is good for laptop; has low battery mode.
Kaspersky is good for desktop and probably the best IS suite for family.
If you have the money to purchase it, I would strongly recommend Kaspersky Internet Security 2016.
Overall, Kaspersky might not be as user friendly (many alerts when properly configured) and as light as Avast (Kaspersky always was a little hoggy, although that has been mostly fixed in the recent versions), however the security components of KIS are much more mature and powerful (when properly configured) than those of AIS.
In conclusions, if you have capable computer hardware and you don't mind a little bit of configuration and quite a few alerts, I would definitely recommend KIS.
If you believe that KIS might be too heavy for your system, and that you do not really visit suspicious sites and download suspicious applications, then I'd recommend AIS.
Emsisoft Anti-Malware & Emsisoft Internet Security 12.0.0.6844? with BETA updates enabled:
This update will require an application restart.
Improved: Behavior blocker detections.
Fixed: Installation issue for Emsisoft Internet Security.
I want to buy KIS 16 key but I still have BitDefender. Whats you experience with those two Anitivirus?
1 more question, if someone knows, can I activate KIS 16 with KIS 15 unactivated key?
Thanks everyone, this is very important to me
I'm a KIS 2016 user and I find it much lighter on system resources compared to the 2015 version. Yes, a KIS 15 key can activate up to KIS 18. I've stocked up on KIS 2015 keys. I brought like for 3 for £27.
With regards to how it compares to Bitdefender? Sorry I cannot comment as I've never used Bitdefender.
Which product has the best Behavior Blocker zero day protection and detection rates?
Hello,
If you had to choose an antivirus, which you will take between two? And why ?
Thank you and good holidays!
In my opinion, Norton gives you a better protection. He has SONAR( Behavior protection), very good feature.
Fsecure uses Bitdefender engine but isn't the best AV according AV Comparatives.
Norton is light, has strong firewall, good signatures and cloud reputation + Sonar protection for zero-day threats.
Emsisoft.
I had to uninstall Bitdefender Total Security 2016. Then I tried to reinstall it but got the latest version Bitdefender Total security 2017 instead. I want the same one I uninstalled but don't know how to get it. I have my old activation code and have 500 days left on the subscription. Any guidance would be appreciated!

However BD tech support gives me a hard time about it on those occasions when I've needed to call them; and I'm aware that one isn't supposed to use 2 antivirus solutions. But MBAM isn't an antivirus...right? I'm very happy with both these programs and they seem to play nice together, but I don't want to crash my computer. Thanks

to Bleeping Computer. I run Bitdefender 2016 Total Security, plus MBAM Premium (which is not an anti-virus, as you stated) and MBAE Premium. I have exceptions configured in BDTS 2016 as suggested by Malwarebytes.
I have not had any issues whatsoever. I visit the BD and MBAM Forums daily and have not seen any reports of BD not playing nicely with MBAM, particularly when the exceptions are configured.
Hope this helps. Have a great day.

A Sweet Suite
Bitdefender Internet Security 2016 has everything you'd want in a suite, and more. Its antivirus gets stellar scores in our tests and lab tests, and its antispam beat out all competitors for accuracy. The firewall doesn't attempt fancy exploit blocking, but it's tough and hassle-free. Add features like ransomware protection, password management, and secure browsing, and you've got a suite with power to spare.
Along with Kaspersky Internet Security (2016), Bitdefender is a security suite Editors' Choice. Other products have earned the Editors' Choice rating for different variations on the security suite concept. In particular, McAfee LiveSafe 2015 and Symantec Norton Security are our Editors' Choice products for cross-platform multi-device security.

If you keep your software and OS updated - and aren't a high-risk user, then the probability of an exploit is low - something like less than 2 % according to industry data. Therefore, anti-exploit protection isn't needed - statistically - for the vast majority of users.
If you want layered protection, then anti-exploit is one of the basic layers.
My attitude towards exploits that they are very unlikely - yet still possible (true 0-Day). Therefore, I run all commonly exploited programs - browsers, Adobe products, office suites, archivers, etc - with limited file system and registry access rights using AppGuard. AppGuard will not prevent an exploit, but it will block the post-exploit actions. I have seen it stop a nasty exploit payload from altering the system.Click to expand...

I was using KAV 2015 (latest patch C) with no problems before updating to 2016. KIS should be the same. Make sure it's the lastest KIS 2015 for Win 10 compatibility.
1) Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 works fine in Windows 10?
2) Does anyone have the Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 configuration guide? Because i am looking for the best, no performance impact, and no more than moderate alerts configuration.
3) Had anyone every purchased antivirus through Amazon? This is my first time because i find a great deal for Kaspersky Internet Security 2016, 3 devices, 1 year for less than $30 at the moment, so i wonder if i purchase it does it provide me a legit Kaspersky key? Here is the link for it, http://www.amazon.com/Kaspersky-Int...1-1&keywords=kaspersky+internet+security+2016
4) Also, is it compatible with Malwarebytes Anti Malware Premium?
I can only answer 3)
Yes, I have purchase twice from Amazon. I would avoid buying from other marketplace seller

Hi everyone,
Recently i have installed Bitdefender Total Security 2016, And noticed that internet browsing became very slow!, Like any page that used to "fully" load instantly or in 2 seconds, Now it would take about 15 seconds or more!, Also i noticed that the time windows take in the "Welcome" screen got way longer!, It used to be about 3 - 5 seconds now its' about 17 seconds, I'm aware that antivirus must have an impact on the performance in general, But not like that.. I googled it and found many people who've been facing the same issue, I tried almost everything mentioned in their topics and still having the same issue. So i was wondering if someone is familiar with that or know a way to fix it.
Things i tried and didn't fix the problem:
- Stopped firewall.
- Changed adapter settings.
- Disabled web protection module.
- Changed Router's DNS/PC DNS.
- Used Bitdefender removal tool/Re-downloaded/Re-installed/Repaired.
- Tried different browsers.
- Did a fresh windows installation!
Notes:
- Download speed is not affected.
- Websites that has SSL/HTTPS connection are slower than the ones who use the regular http/non-secure.
My small guess would be: SSL scanning is getting in the way. Disabling it might solve your issue.http://www.bitdefender.com/support/what-to-do-when-security-certificates-cannot-be-verified-installed-1090.html

Ransomware malware - is a malicious software that attacks vulnerable systems by locking them, and asks for money to let the user take back the control of his system. The malicious software displays false messages to panic the user, urging him to proceed with the asked payment.
Ransomware can have one of the following behaviors:
Ø Encrypts sensitive and personal files without giving the possibility of decryption until a ransom is paid by the victim.
Ø Locks the computer?s screen and displays a message asking for money. In this case, no file is encrypted, only the user is forced to proceed with the payment.
Ø Blocks applications from running.
Using the latest technology, Bitdefender Ransomware Protection ensures system integrity by protecting critical system areas against damages without impacting the system.
Boot time Protection
Given the fact that many malware applications are set to run at system start-up, Boot time protection scans all critical system areas before all files are being loaded, with zero impact on the system. At the same time, protection is provided from certain attacks tha... Read more

Hi!
I am considering buying Kaspersky Internet Security in store; is this Kaspersky software version worth the buy?
I am using AVG Free as of right now, and a Kaspersky Anti Virus Trial!
Kaspersky is consistently ranked near the top by anti-virus testing labs. Here's a comparison chart from AV comparatves web site: http://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php?chart=chart2&year=2015&month=12&sort=1&zoom=2.
Pc magazine has a review of it as well. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2460689,00.asp
Performance is important but Another consideration is the usability of the software. Are you comfortable with the user interface? Is it easy to find out if your anti-virus definitions are up to date, configure scheduled scans, etc.
Anyone using KIS 2016 & 2017 should note there are 'limitations' following the Anniversary Update - see https://support.kaspersky.com/us/11736 and https://support.kaspersky.com/us/12848 and http://support.kaspersky.co.uk/12394
Maybe Defender is safer?

Hi:
Thanks for posting.
I'm not shilling for KL or anything...
For the record, that KB article is > 1 month old (and predates patch (a), I think).
And lots of folks have upgraded to KIS/KAV/KTS 2017 under RS1 without issue.
BUT BUT Patch (b) has been in beta-testing for > 1 week, and is supposed to fix most of these issues:
https://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=356039
I guess it's sort of like AU/RS1 itself: you'll have either no problems or some problems.
Having said that, I lean a bit closer to the cautious Luddite side than to the adventurous "bleeding edge" side of things.
So, I am still on Win10 1511 and KIS 2016 for a while longer.
At my age, I like to take things slow and steady....
Cheers,
MM
An Excellent Choice
Kaspersky Internet Security (2016) is an all-around great security suite. The independent labs praise its antivirus protection to the skies, its firewall does the job without hassling the user, and its spam filter is more accurate than most. Even the parental control component boasts more features than most suites offer. Powerful remote management is icing on the cake. Kaspersky is a PCMag Editors' Choice security suite, sharing that honor with Bitdefender Internet Security 2015.

Kaspersky already admits its lack of protection currently on Windows 10.
So, if this test is on Windows 10, then it is not reliable.
But if it is not on Windows 10, then KIS rocks definitely!
