I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi.

My Sat M30 laptop start with an bios error. The error says "Resource conflict, edit bios setting or boot" If select "boot" computer hangs before windows completely starts. I remove the wi-fi and the modem module and the same error appears. I can't upgrade the bios because the windows don't start. The bios version is 1.7. The laptop is UK version. If select "edit bios", bios start but I can't find any resource management.

Thanks

(sorry for my english, I am from Spain)

A:Satellite Pro M30 Bios error Resource conflict - Edit bios setting or boot

Hi

I think the error ?edit bios setting? means that you should access the BIOS and should set the BIOS back to the default settings.

Please do this, save the settings and try to boot up!

A:Is there a program that can edit bios in windows xp?

Bios is editted in Bios.

Is the keyboard still malfunctioning? the "wasn't" is confusing.

Have you tried a PS2 keyboard?

First off the main issue.  ThinkCentre 10M9 support page is missing a USB 3.0 Controller Driver.  This causes USB mouse and keyboards not to work unless enabling an option in BIOS for limited support.  According to BIOS the fix is to install the XHCI driver (Intel Extensible Host Controller Driver).  On the support page for the model, no USB controller driver is found.  Please advise on where to get the correct USB3 controller.  Secondary issue.   While I am thankful for a community forum, what is with the lack of a support email address or chat where I could speak with a Lenovo staff member?  Very sub par support in my opinion, which is unfortunate because Lenovo Warranty Service is amazing. EDIT:  Although not listed on Lenovo's Website, the USB 3.0 driver can be downloaded directly from Intel and will work fine (link posted below).  Although Windows 7 is not technically supported, it is compatible and will work fine after installing the USB 3.0 driver.  This driver should be added to the device support page for Windows 7 drivers.  Windows 7 is unsupported by updates and patches, that does not mean drivers should not be supplied to make it functional in the first place. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22824/Intel-USB-3-0-eXtensible-Host-Controller-Driver-for-...

A:Missing Driver/ Lenovo support is not good EDIT: to add solution

Why not just phone Lenovo Support (in Atlanta): 800-426-7378?

As far as USB 3.0 driver, the M710t is a Kaby Lake machine which is supported only by Win10 which has built-in USB 3.0 support.  There's really no need for Lenovo to provide separate Intel USB 3.0 drivers, as there would be for a Skylake-version CPU and a Win7 option (since Win7 does NOT have built-in USB 3.0 support).

So I'm puzzled as to what your situation is that causes USB mouse and keyboards not to work without setting the BIOS for legacy USB support.  Ever since Skylake, USB mouse and keyboard required USB 3.0 support in Windows, which is why the standard Win7 installer couldn't be use without recreating updated install media that had USB 3.0 drivers added. Same story trying to install Win7 to an NVMe target, since NVMe is also not built-in supported by standard Win7 (whereas it is by Win10), and you had to update the Win7 install media to also have NVMe drivers as well as USB 3.0 drivers, if you wanted to install Win7 to a Skylake CPU/chipset.

But Kaby Lake is ONLY supported by Win10, which already has built-in USB 3.0 driver support.  So I don't understand why you had any problem with USB mouse and keyboard, unless you're trying to install Win7 to this Kaby Lake M710t machine... which is not supported.

Can you please clarify your machine, and what you're trying to do where the USB mouse and keyboard "didn't work" without using the BIOS "legacy USB" option.

To make a long story short, I've been asked to help fix a friends mom's U410 laptop which wasnt activiting Windows 8.1 properly (Was Windows 8 OOB). After struggling with the activation for a few hours, I backed up the data and decided to just run the Lenovo one key recovery. During the recovery process, the installation had failed. When I attemped to reboot, no Lenovo splash screen was loading - just a black screen (although i can hear the cooling fan start, and hear the harddrive spin up. I tried to access the boot menu thru the novo button, and nothing would load; still a black screen. After researching for a few more hours, I had found multiple threads about bios updates required to be able to access bios with windows 8, and other threads about gpus on these units booting to a second screen (which i did test, and the second monitor does indicate a signal). None of the solutions on those threads have given positive results.   Basically, I've run out of options and am looking for some suggestions. The only thing that shows up on the display at anytime is the small blue novo menu when the button is pressed (normal start up, bios setup, boot menu, system recovery - all of which just leave a black screen). Thanks.

Hello my friends ! A time ago i bouhgt two Lenovo ideapad 100 14 IBY (FreeDos Version) and install Windows 10 on it with UEFI and GPT Partition Table. All works fine until i want to play around with Linux and install UBUNTU Mate in UEFI on one of them. The install was easy but the Performance on Ubuntu with Bay Trail and the don't working Bluetooth was a reason to switch back to Windows 10. After that the Problem beginns. The Bios don't let me save changes anymore (only time and date !). There was no UEFI ESP and GPT Support since i install UBUNTU and the Bios Menu looks like that:Bios Entries on a blank DiskBootingThe Disk is Blank there is no ubuntu on there (Don't know waht the EFI Entries are no Hardware is connected). And when I boot also go to Network Boot there.(No Matter a USB Stick is connected). So what i did: # I Dismantle it and disconnect Battery and Cell and wait half an hour. # Nothing changes !# I change the HDD. # Nothing changes !# Reflash the BIOS by edit the plattform.ini - CheckByBios=1 - Error Cannot mount EFI Partition. # Nothing changes !# Install Windows 10 - Make mbr2gpt.exe and bcdedit and bootrec. # Nothing changes ! I can install and run Windows 10 in MBR and BIOS Mode on it. But no USB Stick was displayed in Boot Menu. So now Iam on my Limit and the Question is there a way to put UEFI and GPT back on it or does the BIOS locked in this State. For me UEFI is MALEWARE so why can a simple UBUNTU damaged my BIOS and ... A few days ago I had some problems with my HDD so I brought a new one.  To install Windows in the new drive I plugged in the DVD drive that Lenovo ships with the laptop and tried to boot from it. That failed and BIOS got like "programmed" or stuck with configurations that doesn't let it recognise any boot media no matter if it is a USB stick or HDD, no matter if I try to change the configuration of the BIOS it would always get back to the initial state of not being able to boot I even tried to reset it by unplugging its battery and the laptop battery but the only thing that happens is system time starting from 0 while any other configuration stays the same.  I thought this could be fixed using crisis recovery mode, but the laptop doesn't recognise the BIOS loaded on the USB and never make any sort of beep or alert noises, the screen doesn't show anything either and fans just get to 100% I really need help to solve this problem, it's like the BIOS got stuck in the last configurations before plugging the DVD drive in. (The Boot menu still showing that there's a USB booteable device even when it is not plugged in).

Hello everyone! I ama new user and i am coming up with this post as I couldn`t find any kind of solution for my problem.Recently I decided to do a reinstallation of my operating system, which also previously was Windows 7 Ultimate (x64). The installation went as usual, and after finishing it I went on to install all the latest drivers from the Lenovo site, for my product. When getting close to installing almost all the drivers i`ve needed, i stumbled upon a new version of the BIOS amnd the drivers and sfotware recommended for my laptop, by the producer. So i proceeded to install the upgrade, restarted the computer when it prompted me to do so, but after the so-called restart the laptop did not boot up as usual. At first it was telling me to not do anything as the BIOS is being flashed and then it was telling me something about some sort of image processing, things that i did not understand at the time (i have never encountered anything like that). After that my screen turned black. I have not done anything for a few couple of minutes as i thought it was supposed to be like that, but then i just force shut it down and unplugged the AC adapter. When trying to boot it all up again, the only thing i got was a black screen and nothing else. After doing a little bit of research it appears that, somehowm i`ve managed to corrupt the bios on my laptop or something, and nothing else would work at this point. I tried to remove the BIOS battery and the ram and then put them all back, trye... Read more

HI, Please skip to paragraph six for the actual issue I am having--the preceding paragraphs include info that may help to identify how to fix this. I am posting this using my HP desktop running Windows 7 as my Lenovo Ideapad 110 cannot connect to internet as explained below: Firstly, Sorry if I am breaking community guidelines in any way with this post. I did multiple searches but only came up with "forgot my BIOS password-how can I reset it" type posts. I am looking for urgent help to get back into the "BIOS" of my Lenovo IdeaPad 110 running preinstalled Windows 10. Everything was running fine until yesterday. This is when I made the mistake of thinking I knew more about the system than I actually seem to lol :/ So, yesterday--I entered the "BIOS" screen upon startup using F2 (function key+F2). I went on to disable wireless connection ability (to test something unrelated), and also switched Boot from strait UEFI boot mode to legacy/UEFI boot-with UEFI being the default boot option.  I don't know if any of the above have to do with the issue I am now having but I wanted to share it just in case. Here is the real issue as of now: Also yesterday at the same time while in "BIOS", I also went on to set an "admin password", the one you must type in before you can even get to the lenovo splash screen to enter "BIOS". Basically I believe this is referred to as a POST password although I am not an expert cleary (hence asking for the experts' he... Read more

Hi. I have a Lenovo B50-30 mode 80ES. It was set to require a password on startup starting with a capital "A". While experiencing charging problems, amongst other things, I updated the BIOS to 9CCN35WW, downloaded from the Lenovo support site. Since updating, the laptop no longer asks for a password on startup (No big deal, I applied a windows password), however, when pressing F2 to access the BIOS (which I need to do, the F keys are the wrong way round), it asks for a password, When pressing to strike a capital A, the laptop beeps and doesnt enter it. It wont accept capital letters anymore, therefore it wont accept the pre BIOS update password. I have referred the laptop to Lenovo service, including returning the laptop, and they have been nothing short of useless. They said they couldnt repair it under warranty because of "Marks, cracks, inappropriate treatment" and it would cost £255 for a replacement system board. I really couldnt see why I should pay for an issue created by their support system, so I asked them to return it unrepaired. Upon arrival, the laptop was immaculate, so I dont know what damage they were referring to. Is it possible to downgrade the BIOS to a pre update revision, to change the password and then reset it to one the new BIOS approves of? Thankyou in advance.

I am trying to delete all the files from an old HP (XH545) laptop running XP. Its screen doesn't work, so I have it attached to a remote monitor. I have both a bootable floppy and bootable cd which have [email protected] Kill Disk. My intention is to boot one or the other and erase everything on the hard drive.

Problem: I am unable to get into my BIOS to change the boot order. Since I have to do a Fn-F5 to switch over to the monitor, I am unable to get there in time to see when to hit F2 to edit my BIOS. I have been trying for several hours to "guess" when to hit it, still with no success. I'm not even sure I would be able to see the BIOS screen anyway - maybe you have to get past that for Fn-F5 to swap out to the monitor.

If I let the system boot normally, I can swap over in time to see it loading Windows XP.

Question 1: Is there any way to change the boot order from within Windows (or from DOS prompts)?

Question 2: Lacking a positive answer to #1, is there any other way to delete all the files from the hard drive so I can dispose of the laptop?

Thanks!

Hello,
I am using Cool Edit pro 2.0 and I saw in the what's new section of the software manual that you can use it to extract audio from video files, edit the audio files, then add them back to the video files. This is exactly what I want to do but it proves to be hard to me since I'm a beginner.

What I'd like to do is replace the right channel of the audio from the video with another sound, then add it back to the original video so that I can hear the new audio file from the right and the original from the left.

Can anybody help me?

Thanks

I forgot my bios password. What should i do? Can i crack bios password?

A:Lenovo g50-80 bios

Hi ANiK_ ,

Welcome to the Community Forums,

Passwords are highly confidential info .Before, older computer can do manual reset doing the jumper and reset cmos but nowadays security for password access is now embedded on the chipset and would no longer rely on battery maintained storage. Many would offer their BIOS crack utility for a price and unguaranteed result.  Same reason why some CMOS battery would also be soldered on the board.

Solution : (Quoted from the document)

" To regain access, the system will need to be serviced to have the system board and hard drive replaced. Proof of purchase is required, and this repair is not covered under the warranty."

Check your warranty and give tech support a call.

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

I was change my bios with the modded one and after that changed some settings like yours graphics, ram size etc. There is only blank screen now and keyboard leds on, god knows I tried everything, tried to flash bios from USB, tried every combinations of bios file and recovery file names nothing happened, maybe I did irreversible damage to the motherboard, last thing I am going to replace bios chip and see, fingercrosed.

Whenever I restart/shutdown the laptop, it boots to BIOS and I have to exit discarding changes to boot to Windows. I have tried just about everything to fix this. I've updated to BIOS, changed every setting in the BIOS, peformed a clean Windows install, everything. The only thing that has made any difference is when I unplug the laptop and hold down the power button for ~30 seconds. It will boot straight to Windows for 1 or 2 restarts, then goes back to booting to the BIOS. I've been a sysad for over 10 years and haven't seen anything like this happening with no errors or anything. I'm open to any ideas that others may have. Thanks!

There is no backdoor password.  You need to remember the password or replace the motherboard.  Sorry.

Fernando

I downloaded the new lenovo y50 bios version: 9ECN43WW released 10/22/2015.

However, whenever I turn the laptop on, it makes the fan whir up really loudly for a few seconds and then goes into the windows login screen.
The same thing happens when I turn it off: the fans accelerate and spin loudly for a few seconds then shuts down.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening or to revert to an older bios version? There is only the 9ECN43WW bios in my C:/ bios folder.

Thanks in advanced.

A:Lenovo Y50 - Bios and Fan Noise

Even when nothing is running on my Lenovy Y50, the fans are still very loud and spin really fast.

What can I do about this? I have attached an image of my task manager when nothing is open, but even if it is like this, there is still a lot of fan noise.

Hey I'm having an issue with the BIOS on my Lenovo y40-80. I can still access the BIOS but it has become corrupted. I had installed Ubuntu and had grub managing Windows 10 and Ubuntu. When i resized a partition all of that got messed up and my BIOS has never been the same. Even though I can access the BIOS, I can't set it up to boot from USB anymore. Everytime I change settings and leave it defaults back to normal. (Not the CMOS battery, I've checked the charge, and the time is kept). Anyways, someone else with a similar issue flashed their BIOS and got everything working again. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to do it.I know its a Insyde H20 BIOS, and I'm on revision 5. I know if I unhook the battery and press Fn + R, then plug in the AC, and then press the power button, it goes to BIOS recovery. I just need to put the correct file on a flash drive. The ROM attached with the BIOS is AIVY5204.ROM. Does anyone know what it should be renamed in order to flash it this way?  EDIT: It looks like this is a known issue with Ubuntu 17.10 and Lenovo computers with Insyde H20 BIOS. Ubuntu destroys the NVRAM on ths BIOS. Reflashing is the only option, or getting a new BIOS chip. The question still holds. Just pointing out this is a big issue.
