In the first week with my Y700, sometimes, when the pc started, the touch screen just didn`t work and i had to reboot in order to use this functionality. ISSUEThe 720 touchpad and touchscreen are the worst.  This issue started out of the box before I had even gone on line.  When the touchpad does work, the right click/left click distinction doesn't work and I have to use the screen, when it's working, for the long hold until the right click options appear. When the screen is working, the ability to close a window and touching it just the right way is dubious at best.  I've tried modifying sensitivity, etc, in the control panel, but there is no difference.   When both window and touchpad stop functioning, I plug in an old HP mouse I have, but when I'm mobile, this means running the mouse down my leg if I don't have a surface to place my laptop upon.  And it also means carrying a mouse with me everywhere I go.  My line of work is often standing and walking with clients so  not really possible in my line of work.   RETURN/REPAIR OPTIONS AREN'T OFFERED OR ARE NOT PRACTICALTo back up a bit, I attempted to return this to BestBuy, but was four days beyond the allowable return date.  I contacted Lenovo, but it's all about mailing it in or turning the laptop over and being without anything for a few days.  Hard to find those few days.  I've tried to live it, but it's been an enormous killer of productivity, not to mention incredible frustration and some embarrsassing typos.    PAST YOGA BUILD WAS GREAT - WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE 720?My last Yoga 710 wa... I have a Yoga 11s Laptop (ideapad) with windows 8.1, bought it 3 years ago, and the touch screen hasn't workedfor about two week. I've installed touchpad drivers, and refreshed the computer. Installing the drivers did nothing, and the touch screen worked after the refresh until I flipped the screen to use it in stand mode.  Thoughts? Will a factory reset make a difference?  I really need the touch screen for the work I do, and I can't send it out for repairs.

Hi. Touch screen on my device is working from time to time. Mostly not working at all. It stops working after suspend/reboot. I can't understand what makes it work again. Sometimes you suspend/reboot again and it starts working, sometimes its not. The reason of this is I2C HID Device with status "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed." which is shown in Device Manager. When it doesn't have yellow warning icon - touch is working. What I tried: Windows Troubleshooter. It reinstalls driver. Doesn't help.Remove driver in Device Manager. Doesn't help. It restores automatically.Disable/Enable device. No luck.Install latest Lenovo updates (including BIOS, V.2JCN36WW) via Lenovo Companion. No luck.Install Windows updates. No luck. BTW, Creators update installed.Suspend/Restart. Helps in very rare cases around 1 of 10.

After a launch of updates including the BIOS update from Lenovo Vantage, my touch screen stopping working all of a sudden, as the screen does not react to the pen. When going in tablet mode, the mouse cursor does not dissapear and the screen still does not work. I restarted the laptop a few times but the problem continues to persist. When I went to touch screen & pen info, it said that "no pen or touch screen display is available for this display." It never said this before and I still have Windows Ink available. This is the best laptop that I got for college until this happened, and I am hoping that Lenovo and/or Microsoft comes up with a fix quickly as possible. I really need help with this becuase I just got this laptop and I don't wanna think that $1099 was a waste of money. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello, This is my first time posting, so please bear with me. A few days ago, the touch screen completely stopped working. I am also unable to rotate the screen. Navigating to the Device Manager, I see three I2C HID Device drivers, but one of them has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it. When I click on it, I see the error: "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed." Disabling it does nothing, neither does uninstalling it - when they are reenabled or reinstalled, the error persists. There are no drivers that can be updated, and there is no way to roll back to a previous driver as I never updated these due to there being no problems. I assume this is a hardware issue, but I am not sure how to verify this or if there is anything else that can be done.  I have had quite a few problems with this machine, sending it out twice for the same problem and having the same problem occur for the third time (the power button does not work), but I am hoping this is something that is fixable.  Thanks!

I tried so hard to catch this problem, like reinstall realtek sound drive, BIOS updata, or use other earphone.but nothing was clear the white noise in laptop.Is anyone know how to fix this annoying white noise? the problem like...when you turn on music, white noise start up. pause it, still over there, but if you 'stop' music(the button I mean *foobar2000) white noise gone with that.it is so annoying. For your infomation:  7 April 2016   Amazon price $1,194.99      Lenovo website does not specify what type of hard drive it comes with weither it is 2.5 ssd or M.2 ssd.  I did call Lenovo prior to purchasing my computer to ask what type of drive it came with the sales staff told me it was a 2.5 inch ssd which turns out to be wrong.   This laptop comes with a 500 GB M.2 ssd.  It does not include the cable for the second hard drive,    Your choice of 2.5 hd or 2.5 ssd.        As of yet you cannot purchase the cable thru Lenovo parts department.    The cable can be gotten thru AliExpress for around $49.00 (which does not include the hard drive caddy).  Encompass also sales the cable but as of this time is back ordered to July 2016  at a price of $10 plus shipping.  aslo does not come with the hard drive caddy.      My computer had a bug when using it,  windows exprorer service stopped working and I had to go to the task manager to restart the service.  But after I went to windows update and downloaded the lastest updates this bug did not show up again.  The best i can guess is not the fault of Lenovo.          The hard drive is partitioned into 5 drives which include boot, driver back-up, one button recovery and two additional Lenovo reserved ... I noticed my touch screen stopped working yesterday May 14, 2018. I have looked under Human Interface Devices and the HID-Compliant touch screen Properties window says "The device is working properly." I have also tried to update the driver, but the system says there are no updates available and that the only driver in existence is the original (June 21, 2006). I have also tried disabling and enabling the device and several restarts with no luck. Any advice?

Hello,Yesterday my touch screen in my Lenovo Yoga 720 stopped working with finger touch. I got a new Lenovo Yoga 520 notebook a few days ago - initially everything was working fine, however now when I switch it into tablet mode the touch screen is completly unresponsive. I have done all the Lenovo system updates and windows 10 is up to date.  Has anyone experienced a simular issue and knows how I can fix this? Its still under warranty but I would prefer to try and fix myself if possible.

Whenever audio starts the right speaker pops. I have also had an issue with the screen not displaying properly since purchase. It gets artifacts for a few minutes then they go away. Would my warranty be voided if I opened it up to look for a loose cable?  I purchased on 2/12/16 is my warranty even still good? EDIT: I also have the 100% disk usage issue that plagues W10. Would a SSD fix that?

Wondering if anyone can assist.  Upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago and the touch screen was working fine and within the last month it stopped functioning.  I have googled many help topics, and many suggest that I access my Device manager and click on the Human Interface Devices section find  HID-compliant touch screen.  The only problem is the HID-compliant touch screen is not listed as an option.  Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this issue?

Hi All I have a 2016 model.  Hardly Used at all, warranty ran out Dec 2017. All of a sudden the top left of the screen is un responsive to touch.It runs about 5 inches down the left side from the edge and 10 inches across the screen almost to the centre. The visual display and mouse all continue to work in the area but the touch reponse is not being detected. I have reset the system via settings as the settings have advised.I have callobrated the screen via settings - the area was unresponsive during callobration. Any further advice? Thank you

Flashing bios rom just appeared on the screen mentioned flashing BIOS, but the system rebooted at once without waiting, so after this shutdown, laptop turned on and showed BIOS Error Message ("Invalid firmware image". Press any key to undo changes). So, when I got this laptop a month or so ago, one of the first things I did was grab a bunch of driver updates from the support site. I don't know if it worked before this, but afterwards, my audio jack is completely non-functional. It doesn't even show up in Windows' "playback devices" or "recording devices" dialogue menus. Additionally, my Bluetooth headphones show up twice. However, one "device" sounds fine while the other sounds muffled and scratchy. When I change to the recording devices tab, audio stops playing through them. I've rolled the audio driver back to what came with the laptop (I think) and now the mic doesn't show up in playback devices, which it used to.

Randomly, out of nowhere, the touchscreen on my Y700 stopped working. Upon a hard reboot it came back for all of 5 seconds a few times and stopped again and now it's just completely stopped. Under the device manager, there are NO Human Interface Devices and a USB shows an error "Uknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) and an error code 43. I thought it was just drivers, but I did a completely fresh install of Windows 10 and still the same error persists. Do you all think this is a hardware problem? I am from the Caribbean and the service here is terrible. I am on my first replacement and had to wait almost 6 months for it because the touchpad on my first unit stopped functioning. I really don't want to go through this hassle again. Any suggestions ? Or is it just a faulty digitizer panel?

I recently bought a Y700 from Amazon sold by Lenovo. I ordered a 15.6 inch Touch model. I was sent a 17 inch model (all the other specs were correct to my order, though) but it seems like this model is not a touch screen? There is no bezel, but that may not mean anything about if having touch. I checked the Device Manager for the HID-compliant touch screen but nothing was there. The system also notes that no pen and touch input is available for this display. Is my model even a touch screen or am I left out of luck? If it is a touch model, I would love to have my touch abilities to work. Thank you.

My Lenovo U410 Touch recently got damaged - the hinge broke causing the touch screen to **bleep**.I was told that a repair was not feasible as none of the repair shops near me were able to source the parts needed.I therefore bought a new laptop. However, there is a lot of data on the old laptop that I want to access, including sorting out the licensing of MS Office (by uninstalling from the old one).I cannot do anything about it as the old machine is completely unusable as due to the touch screen being cracked, it seems to think it is constantly being touched in multiple places on the screen. This means that I cannot access the laptop to copy the data or uninstall Office. Anyone know any way around this that doesn't involve taking it to a repair shop to "recover" my data. Cheers

Hey everybody, I just received my P40 last week as a replacement for another Lenovo device. So far, everything seems to work fine with one exception: When I turn the screen over to the "tablet position", the touch screen and the touch pen show erroneous behaviour.a) As soon as I make the first input with the touch pen, I cannot make any further input with my finger, so the touch input is simply turned off. The Windows setting to ignore touch input when the stylus is used is not active.b) When I try to tap buttons at certain areas of the screen, especially at the upper edge, the cursor of the stylus starts jumping around and shows up at the lower edge of the screen. That means that when I for example tap on the "X" symbol in the upper right corner to close a window, I actually click on some of the symbols in the system tray in the lower right corner. This problem stops occuring as soon as the angle between the two case parts (screen and keyboard) reaches/exceeds approx. 40. It does not matter if Windows is in "Tablet" or "Desktop" Mode. I already tried to manually install another Wacom driver mentioned at https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Wacom-Tablet-Service-for-ISD-Driver-Win... and https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P-and-W-Series-Mobile/P40-Yoga-issues/td-p/3293985. Please check if you Lenovo S210 is on warranty under with this tool.
After that you can open a ticket with Lenovo for the screen to be fixed, if it is not under warranty it will have a cost.
 
If you are the guys that like to fix it yourself (and it is not under warranty) I can recommend you to check the support site for your model, read the Hardware Maintenance Manual (on the documents area) and check how the machine is organized on the inside. On the parts lookup page you can find the parts number so you can find a replacements for the component that is giving you issues.

After about a day and a half of use, I decided to try attaching it to my External monitor (a 23" 1920x1080p monitor by Acer) which I had used with multiple other computers with no issues. As soon as I plug it in, my screen turns completely black. I waited a few seconds for something to happen, Nothing. Neither screen shows anything. I hook up my desktop to the same monitor, and it works fine.  I can hear sounds, like the sound of an Administrative confirmation, or a external device being plugged in. Therefore, I know the computer itself is still functional. However, I cannot get any image at all.  Things I have tried:Fn+F2 to check that the backlight was not turned off (Also flashed a light on the screen, and got nothing)Fn+F3 to try and see if I had the computer on external monitor only. This also showed nothing. Hard reboot (holding down power key): Nothing. Even the POST screen did not show.   I called Lenovo and they are taking forever as normal to do anything.
