I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

Within the last 2 weeks or so, Whenever I shut my laptop, which makes it sleep, the speakers, but not the sub, stop working when windows resumes. Any ideas? I have done a virus scan. The RealTek audio driver has been updated as well.

In the first week with my Y700, sometimes, when the pc started, the touch screen just didn`t work and i had to reboot in order to use this functionality. Now, there`s nothing i can do to use the touch, it`s like the computer never had a touchscreen.Looking in device manager i haven`t found anything related to the touch interface but there is a " Unknow USB Device" in Universal Serial Bus controllers tab.What shall i do?

ISSUEThe 720 touchpad and touchscreen are the worst.  This issue started out of the box before I had even gone on line.  When the touchpad does work, the right click/left click distinction doesn't work and I have to use the screen, when it's working, for the long hold until the right click options appear. When the screen is working, the ability to close a window and touching it just the right way is dubious at best.  I've tried modifying sensitivity, etc, in the control panel, but there is no difference.   When both window and touchpad stop functioning, I plug in an old HP mouse I have, but when I'm mobile, this means running the mouse down my leg if I don't have a surface to place my laptop upon.  And it also means carrying a mouse with me everywhere I go.  My line of work is often standing and walking with clients so  not really possible in my line of work.   RETURN/REPAIR OPTIONS AREN'T OFFERED OR ARE NOT PRACTICALTo back up a bit, I attempted to return this to BestBuy, but was four days beyond the allowable return date.  I contacted Lenovo, but it's all about mailing it in or turning the laptop over and being without anything for a few days.  Hard to find those few days.  I've tried to live it, but it's been an enormous killer of productivity, not to mention incredible frustration and some embarrsassing typos.    PAST YOGA BUILD WAS GREAT - WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE 720?My last Yoga 710 wa... Hi. Touch screen on my device is working from time to time. Mostly not working at all. It stops working after suspend/reboot. I can't understand what makes it work again. Sometimes you suspend/reboot again and it starts working, sometimes its not. The reason of this is I2C HID Device with status "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed." which is shown in Device Manager. When it doesn't have yellow warning icon - touch is working. What I tried: Windows Troubleshooter. It reinstalls driver. Doesn't help.Remove driver in Device Manager. Doesn't help. It restores automatically.Disable/Enable device. No luck.Install latest Lenovo updates (including BIOS, V.2JCN36WW) via Lenovo Companion. No luck.Install Windows updates. No luck. BTW, Creators update installed.Suspend/Restart. Helps in very rare cases around 1 of 10.

I have a Lenovo 700 running windows 10 64 bit.Recently the screen went black and I had to reboot the laptop which at first wouldn't reboot but eventually did.   This happened twice.  There was nothing in the event  in log other than me shutting the laptop down unexpectedly.Since then it has been stable.  However, the touchscreen no longer works.System information states that there is no touch input.  See image.Device manager for human interface looks like this.  The only error in the device  manager is a usb error which i can't work out.  see image.   Things i have tried;1.    rebooted serveral times.2.    Run trouble shooter - detects usb error but once you select that it says all is ok   3.    Checked event  logs4.    Unistalled usb device5.    Uninstalled HID-complient Vendor defined device Last update was 2nd of March 2019 for KB4023057. Which improves disk cleanup.Tablet mode does not enable touch screen .Thanks to anyone who has any ideas on how to restore it or what the issue isErick

I have a Yoga 11s Laptop (ideapad) with windows 8.1, bought it 3 years ago, and the touch screen hasn't workedfor about two week. I've installed touchpad drivers, and refreshed the computer. Installing the drivers did nothing, and the touch screen worked after the refresh until I flipped the screen to use it in stand mode.  Thoughts? Will a factory reset make a difference?  I really need the touch screen for the work I do, and I can't send it out for repairs.

After a launch of updates including the BIOS update from Lenovo Vantage, my touch screen stopping working all of a sudden, as the screen does not react to the pen. When going in tablet mode, the mouse cursor does not dissapear and the screen still does not work. I restarted the laptop a few times but the problem continues to persist. When I went to touch screen & pen info, it said that "no pen or touch screen display is available for this display." It never said this before and I still have Windows Ink available. This is the best laptop that I got for college until this happened, and I am hoping that Lenovo and/or Microsoft comes up with a fix quickly as possible. I really need help with this becuase I just got this laptop and I don't wanna think that $1099 was a waste of money. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

My computer battery Got Low After Rendering A Video With Premiere ProThen My Touchscreen Stopped Working. I Checked the drivers there's No HID Touch Screen Driver But There is a Pen Driver With a Yellow Warning and error code 10 in its details. I've Tried Everything Even Factory Resetting The Only thing I haven't Done is Roll Back the Bios But I Don't Know How Or Where to get an Older Verion From. Updating the driver is useless as Well. I recently replaced my motherboard on my Yoga 3 14 in laptop and when I got it back the touch screen did not work. I read through other posts about similar issues with touch screens not working and updated all the drivers under device manager but I cannot find a driver for the touch screen. I updated and flashed the BIOS update that was on the support page and the touch screen worked for a few minutes but after i rebooted the computer the touch screen did not work again.  Any suggestions?

It was working totally fine for one and a half year, and for the last few days, it stopped working. I reinstalled the OS, tried in safe mode also. But nothing works. But the device manager is suggesting that the device is working properly. what should I do now?

Hello, This is my first time posting, so please bear with me. A few days ago, the touch screen completely stopped working. I am also unable to rotate the screen. Navigating to the Device Manager, I see three I2C HID Device drivers, but one of them has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it. When I click on it, I see the error: "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A request for the HID descriptor failed." Disabling it does nothing, neither does uninstalling it - when they are reenabled or reinstalled, the error persists. There are no drivers that can be updated, and there is no way to roll back to a previous driver as I never updated these due to there being no problems. I assume this is a hardware issue, but I am not sure how to verify this or if there is anything else that can be done.  I have had quite a few problems with this machine, sending it out twice for the same problem and having the same problem occur for the third time (the power button does not work), but I am hoping this is something that is fixable.  Thanks!

For your infomation:  7 April 2016   Amazon price $1,194.99      Lenovo website does not specify what type of hard drive it comes with weither it is 2.5 ssd or M.2 ssd.  I did call Lenovo prior to purchasing my computer to ask what type of drive it came with the sales staff told me it was a 2.5 inch ssd which turns out to be wrong.   This laptop comes with a 500 GB M.2 ssd.  It does not include the cable for the second hard drive,    Your choice of 2.5 hd or 2.5 ssd.        As of yet you cannot purchase the cable thru Lenovo parts department.    The cable can be gotten thru AliExpress for around $49.00 (which does not include the hard drive caddy).  Encompass also sales the cable but as of this time is back ordered to July 2016  at a price of $10 plus shipping.  aslo does not come with the hard drive caddy.      My computer had a bug when using it,  windows exprorer service stopped working and I had to go to the task manager to restart the service.  But after I went to windows update and downloaded the lastest updates this bug did not show up again.  The best i can guess is not the fault of Lenovo.          The hard drive is partitioned into 5 drives which include boot, driver back-up, one button recovery and two additional Lenovo reserved ... I noticed my touch screen stopped working yesterday May 14, 2018. I have looked under Human Interface Devices and the HID-Compliant touch screen Properties window says "The device is working properly." I have also tried to update the driver, but the system says there are no updates available and that the only driver in existence is the original (June 21, 2006). I have also tried disabling and enabling the device and several restarts with no luck. Any advice?

I got a new Lenovo Yoga 520 notebook a few days ago - initially everything was working fine, however now when I switch it into tablet mode the touch screen is completly unresponsive. I have done all the Lenovo system updates and windows 10 is up to date.  Has anyone experienced a simular issue and knows how I can fix this? Whenever audio starts the right speaker pops. I have also had an issue with the screen not displaying properly since purchase. It gets artifacts for a few minutes then they go away. Would my warranty be voided if I opened it up to look for a loose cable?  I purchased on 2/12/16 is my warranty even still good? EDIT: I also have the 100% disk usage issue that plagues W10. Would a SSD fix that?

Hi All I have a 2016 model.  Hardly Used at all, warranty ran out Dec 2017. All of a sudden the top left of the screen is un responsive to touch.It runs about 5 inches down the left side from the edge and 10 inches across the screen almost to the centre. The visual display and mouse all continue to work in the area but the touch reponse is not being detected. I have reset the system via settings as the settings have advised.I have callobrated the screen via settings - the area was unresponsive during callobration. Any further advice? Thank you

Wondering if anyone can assist.  Upgraded to Windows 10 a few months ago and the touch screen was working fine and within the last month it stopped functioning.  I have googled many help topics, and many suggest that I access my Device manager and click on the Human Interface Devices section find  HID-compliant touch screen.  The only problem is the HID-compliant touch screen is not listed as an option.  Does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this issue?

sorry if this is a bit outdated, so far I haven't found neither a solution, neither a reason. I take back to live an old Lenovo Helix (1st generation), reinstall W10, drivers and so on, just to discover touch is not responding (pencil works ok without a problem). Last time I used was great, like a year and half ago, I thought to be a great piece of hardware for my children to start scratch and similar.Go to Bios and neither was there touch working, so I start using it for some software testing (I am a programmer, no touch but afterall all SO freshly installed). Then, couple of days later, after several hours, I notice touch was back, GREAT, restart and still working, SLEEP, wake up later, no touch any longer, OFF and ON several times, no luck... Next day, touch works again, until it stopped working. And like this has been no-pattern on the last couple of weeks. no matter if I plug, or unplug, (power or keyboard) if I restart, if I move softly of hard, if I take OUT/IN the pencil... if it works, it works, if it do not work, do not work...  erratic, without pattern as said, I not sure what I am looking for really, if a solution, or understand what can be the reason. I am sure it is a HW thing with the screen or wire, or soemthing, because, as it works, it also does in BIOS, and no drivers changes have take place between working and non working periods. Flashing bios rom just appeared on the screen mentioned flashing BIOS, but the system rebooted at once without waiting, so after this shutdown, laptop turned on and showed BIOS Error Message ("Invalid firmware image". Press any key to undo changes). Randomly, out of nowhere, the touchscreen on my Y700 stopped working. Upon a hard reboot it came back for all of 5 seconds a few times and stopped again and now it's just completely stopped. Under the device manager, there are NO Human Interface Devices and a USB shows an error "Uknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) and an error code 43. I thought it was just drivers, but I did a completely fresh install of Windows 10 and still the same error persists. Do you all think this is a hardware problem? I am from the Caribbean and the service here is terrible. I am on my first replacement and had to wait almost 6 months for it because the touchpad on my first unit stopped functioning. I really don't want to go through this hassle again. Any suggestions ? Or is it just a faulty digitizer panel?

So, when I got this laptop a month or so ago, one of the first things I did was grab a bunch of driver updates from the support site. I don't know if it worked before this, but afterwards, my audio jack is completely non-functional. It doesn't even show up in Windows' "playback devices" or "recording devices" dialogue menus. Additionally, my Bluetooth headphones show up twice. However, one "device" sounds fine while the other sounds muffled and scratchy. When I change to the recording devices tab, audio stops playing through them. I've rolled the audio driver back to what came with the laptop (I think) and now the mic doesn't show up in playback devices, which it used to.
