I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have ThinkPad T470 laptop with Windows 10 pro x64 installed. Sound plays just fine from the laptop's speakers, and when I plug external speakers into the laptop's 3.5mm audio port they work just fine too.But...when the laptop is docked in my Ultra Dock 90W docking station and the external speakers cable is plugged into the dock's audio port, no sound is heard. If I'm playing music through the laptop's speakers, as soon as I plug a cable into the dock's audio port no sound is heard. I can still use the laptop's audio port to connect external speakers, but that defeats the object of having an audio port on the Ultra Dock. I believe the driver of external speaker plugged into dock is well-installed and well-detected by the device managerI already set it as default audio output and can see the volume symbol up-and-down while testing it.I also had my T450 docked and the audio port from this Ultra Dock worked just as expected!! It seems everything works fine but still no sound can be heard when T470 is docked.Is it a bug when using Dock with T470 docked ??What do I need to do to get the Ultra Dock's audio port working?Anyone can help ?? Thanks a lot in advance!Kind regards,Jimmy

I moved on to T470 after my wonderful (and still functional) T430 is deemed heavier and slower. Since I use my T470 as a working laptop, I need a docking station for the T470 so that I can avoid connecting the bundles of cables and charger everytime I step into the office. Several options come into the search criteria, mainly the USB3.0 and the mechanical dock. Just to clear my doubts, if I use the USB3.0 dock, do I still need to connect a charger? Alternatively, if I just buy a mechanical dock, would it be a all-in-one solution? Thanks in advance!!

I have a T530 for work and it came with a Mini Dock Series 3 docking station provided by my company. I just recently purchased a T470 for personal use and clearly the mini dock isn't compatible with the bottom of my T470. Is there such a dock out there that I could easily swap between laptops since I don't have the desk space for two setups nor the time to swap out cables every time I need to swap?

Just started using the T470 and am attempting to setup dual monitors from my home office without a docking station.  Can I use the HDMI port to connect one monitor, and the USB C port with an HDMI converter to the 2nd monitor?  I'm able to connect the HDMI port to one monitor, I'm also able to connect one monitor using the USB C port with HDMI convertor.  However, when connecting the two at the same time, screen continues to flicker and only the monitor connected via HDMI port works.  Won't detect the USB C with HDMI converter.  Monitors are Viewsonic 2270SMH-LED.

Hi Lenovo, I have a strange issue with the USB-C Dock  If I plug-in my Logitech G502 mouse then it will work for a minute and then randomly hangs and freezes. If I plug-in the mouse directly into my Lenovo T470 then everything works fine What I've tried: - Update of Intel Chipset Driver- Update of Firmware (of Laptop and Docking Station)- Restart of laptop many times- Swap of docking station (exact same model)- Reinstall of Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver- Remove of device via device manager- Remove of Logitech G Software (and reinstall)  It doesn't matter where I plug the mouse into the docking station it will freeze after a minute for about 30 seconds. Then it will work again for 30 seconds and then freeze forever.  Laptop is connected via USB-C cable to the rear USB-C port of th dock so that the battery will be charged as well. Regards, Alex

Network shares, both administrative and explicitly shared, cannot be accessed when the shares are on a laptop connected via ethernet through the new Thunderbolt 3 dock. Using the onboard NIC, WiFi, as well as the NIC on a Thinkpad Ultradock does not cause this. I have tested on 2 separate T470 laptops with both the Thunderbolt software from this link: http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/THINKPAD-T-SERIES-LAPTOPS/THINKPAD-T...and the drivers from this link:  https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/acc100356 I also tried the "Intel Alpine Ridge Thunderbolt Firmware" just added and it appears to be the same version I can access the machines shares from itself, just not from anywhere beyond the TBT3 NIC.Attempting to browse to the machine results in an Error code 0x80070035 The Network path was not found

Hello everyone. I have a Dell E7450 with a faulty charging circuit. An IC (PD5) close to the DC jack burnt due over voltage therefore the computer is showing `plug in not charging`. My question here is, are there any chances that the computer will charge through dock station? Thanks.

A:Charging DELL E7450 through dock station

If the damage is only associated with something only used for the DC jack on the laptop then yes, but if there's damage to any shared or more important circuits then it may not work either. Normally you would absolutely be able to charge it through the docking station. If I personally had to guess I'd say there's a pretty good change it may work with a dock.

Hello, I'm confused about dock stations for Dual Core / Quad Core modifications of T520. After some reading, including some posts on this forum, I assumed that the only difference is that Quad Core models require 170W power supply, and otherwise the dock stations are the same. However, I still see on ebay here and there: "T520: Dual Core models only" even for docs with 170W power supply, e.g.: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-Thinkpad-4338-35U-0B56231-04W3586-Mini-Dock-Plus-Series-3-USB3-0-w-17... Could anyone please clarify? Is the seller wrong, or is this dock station really for Dual Core models only? Thanks.

I have a new T470 docked in a Lenovo ThinkPad Ultra Dock 90W connected to a Lenovo ThinkVision P27q screen.When I use a Display Port cable between the dock and the screen the "found new device sound" pings every like 5-10 seconds . Only when the computer enters Screen saver mode (no screen saver). Eventhough I have the sound to be relayed to the screen  where I have plugged in Headphones, instead of Laptop Speakers, the foud new device sound goes out through the Laptop speakers for all to hear. This can be VERY annoying to collegues when I go away.  Using a HDMI cable = no problem. This only happens using a DIsplay port mini on the dock to Display Port on the screen.  As the screen is black in this mode I can't see any error messages (Or found new device) on the screen.As soon as I go out of screen saver mode, by touching the mouse/keyboard the sound stops repeating. Any ideas?

TWO U2415H MONITORS, NO DOCK STATION;
DAISY CHAIN PROBLEMS
======================================
I thought I set things up correctly.
I can not adjust the first external u2415 monitor to DP1.2 'enabled'
When I try (with e7450 connected to first monitor and first monitor connected to second monitor), I get a pop up on the first monitor that I need to click on CONFIRM TO ALLOW THE CHANGE FROM DP 1.2 NOT ABLE TO "DP 1.2 ENABLED".
There is no way my cursor will allow that as the cursor is shadowed on the first monitor, and moves about,
SETUP:
Latitude E7450 rear mDP OUT --> mDP to DP cable -->

#1 U2415 DP IN (DP 1.2 Enabled)

#1 U2415 DP OUT  -- > DP to mDP cable -->

 #2 U2415 mDP IN (DP 1.2 Disabled)

Besides doing it again, are there any further (very specific) instructions suggested?

I thought I updated all drivers and bios.

The e7450 is connected to DELL driver auto update link.

My Windows 7 Operating system is taking a lot of time during Start up.I was looking for an alternative to the regular icons ,scattered all over my desktop.So,i decided to try Docks such as Rocket Dock,Object Dock,Nexus,Rk Launcher or similar dock....It certainly looks beautiful but now i am skeptical if these are causing my system to load very slowly during Windows Start up..

Also,now i am using a Windows Task bar Software which lets me pin any program shortcut on my task bar. So,my task bar is filled up with many icons.Is that the cause of a slow start up or the Docks...

Also,now i am using a Windows Task bar Software which lets me pin any program shortcut on my task bar. So,my task bar is filled up with many icons.Is that the cause of a slow start up or the Docks...

You can use MSconfig to diagnose startup issues. Visit the following link for details;

You can post back with any questions regarding your system services and startup entries to establish their purpose and whether or not they are required at startup.

Taskbar icons are just shortcuts and do not effect the time it takes for starting a computer.

Hi, Everyone. Got me a nice little x270 to replace my old x201.  Happy enough with the machine, but getting it connected to my accessories (monitor, keyb, mouse, ethernet) is a bit of a chore. This machine appears to have a "proper" dock port on the bottom.  Is there a compatible ultradock available for the model 20HN x270?  By proper - I mean, Not USB.  A nice dock I can simply drop the machine into when I'm at the home office.. Thanks!
